THE GROUP OF four all finally made it to a stream. Indigo's feet were now planted into large white pebbles that surrounded the creek.
Indigo was so ecstatic about the creek that she began to break apart from the group, knowing she'd regroup in just a moment. Indigo walked further to where the forest was connecting to the creek.
Indigo kneeled to the stream of water and put her hands into the waterโ her body wanting to just float through the Earth's tears for the rest of her life. She then felt the rock that was in her pocketโ and felt it was crumbled in her pocketโ most likely from constantly kicking it.
Indigo reached into her pocket, pulling the rock out, and saw how the inside was full of crystals. Indigo let out a gaspโ smiling so wide that her cheeks hurt. Her moment was cut short by birds quickly swarming through the skyโ frantic to get away from something.
Indigo quickly stood upโ confused about what was going on to cause birds to act like this, but in a way, Indigo was excited to finally see more animals. Indigo put the two pieces of crystallized rock into her bag, before hearing a horn of some kind.
Indigo then looked up to see a large yellow cloud storming towards her. Indigo's eyes widened at the sight and knew she was way too far away to make it back to the others in time. Indigo then quickly ran into the
woodsโ unsure if she would even find shelter.
Indigo didn't know what the fog would do if it got to her, but she didn't want to find out. She quickly ran through the forestโ in search of anything that would protect her.
Indigo's legs felt numb, she couldn't run for much longer, and she still didn't know where she was going to goโ which only made her hopes lower.
"Help!" Indigo yelled out, "Clarke?!" she almost screamed whilst she ranโ scared for her life, "What the fuck!?" Indigo yelled in frustration at the fact there was no one around.
Indigo then ran by a tall rockโ and felt someone's arms wrap around her torso, pulling her into a dark place, she let out a screamโ unsure if they were a grounder or not.
"Calm down." Bellamy scoffed at her frantic stateโ as he let go of her. Indigo's breath was quick, as she almost collapsed to the floor at the numbness in her legs.
So much for avoiding him.
"Bellamy!" Atom's voice shouted from outside the cave, Indigo then frantically went to leave the cave and save Atomโ but Bellamy grabbed her hand quickly, stopping her.
"You can't save him," Bellamy said in an almost somber voiceโ letting go of Indigo's hand. Indigo let out a sigh of frustration and fell against the cave's wall.
Indigo's eyes then darted to a young girl who was also in the cave, "Who's the kid?" Indigo asked, her breath still quick, as she slid down the wall and sat down, her legs thanking herโ as her legs began to feel better, no pressure anymore.
"Charlotte." Bellamy said flatly, sitting down across from Indigoโ leaning against the other wall across from her, "Charlotte, this is Indigo." he said blandly, looking at the small blonde.
"Hi." Charlotte shyly waved at the older girl, to which Indigo weakly waved backโ leaning her head against the wall her back was against.
Indigo then glanced over at Bellamy, "Why do you have her." Indigo asked, still not happy with Bellamyโ still not wanting to even speak to him, but now they were stuck in a cave for who knows how long.
"She snuck out of camp, and I almost killed her," he replied airilyโ making Indigo's eyebrows furrow at his wordsโ and his nonchalant tone.
Indigo then looked at Charlotte, as she sat down on an indent in the wallโ that could fit a child. Indigo then sat up straight, her breathing finally calming down.
"Of course you almost did." Indigo rolled her
eyesโ partially not surprised at his words. Who does he not almost kill?
"What's that supposed to mean?" Bellamy asked
defensivelyโ which made Indigo shrug, not looking at him anymore.

About an hour or two had passedโ and Indigo barely spoke to Bellamy. She was playing tic-tack-toe on the stone floor of the cave with Charlotteโ having to carve into the floor with rocks that were in the cave.
Luckily enough that Indigo was there since she had
rationsโ but the three had to split them, which sucked. Bellamy insisted on the smallest amount, but Indigo gave herself the smallest piece of panther, which Bellamy was not aware of.
"How do you always win?" Charlotte rolled her eyes when Indigo won the game again, causing Indigo to just smile proudly at herself.
"Because I'm just better," Indigo said sarcastically with a shrug, whilst Charlotte laughed at her fake proud voice and fake egotistical act.
"Only one more game." Bellamy said as he fiddled with a rock in handโ still sitting against the wall on the other side of the cave, "We need to sleep the fog away, plus we need energy to make the trek back to camp."
"Fine, dad." Indigo scoffed, rolling her eyes at his voice, causing Charlotte to laugh at her words againโ thinking Indigo was the coolest.
Bellamy just rolled his eyes at her words and averted his gaze away from the two girls. Indigo then smiled at Charlotteโ Indigo was going to just let her win this round since it was the last one.
"Okay, last round," Indigo said in a challenging
toneโ carving out the four lines that made the base of the game.
Indigo let Charlotte be x's this timeโ and let her win, trying to drag out the game so the girl didn't have to go to sleep so soon.
"Shit!" Indigo fakely exclaimed when Charlotte
wonโ to which the younger girl gave her a knowing look, "No way you won."
"You let me." Charlotte laughed at her acting, causing Indigo to join in too. Indigo then rolled her eyes, trying to hold back her light laughter.
"Did not!" Indigo exclaimed in a fake offended
toneโ letting out a loud gasp at the younger girl's words as a 'how dare you!' gasp.
"Did too!" Charlotte laughed back at the girl's constant dramatic reactions to her words. Indigo then dramatically gasped again.
"Did not!" Indigo exclaimed againโ shaking her head rapidly, crossing her arms over her chest with a fake angry expression.
"Did t-" Charlotte went to argue back at the girl, but Bellamy quickly cut their fun shortโ interrupting the young blonde girl.
"Alright, alright." Bellamy got up and walked closer to the two girls who were sat criss-crossed on the ground, "Time for bed." he told the younger blonde, causing Indigo to roll her eyes.
"Fine," Charlotte saidโ put out that she couldn't hang out with Indigo anymore. Charlotte and Indigo got up from the ground.
Charlotte then got up onto the indent in the caveโ that was just a large flat rock that Charlotte 'called' to sleep on. Indigo then ran a hand over her braids smiling at her.
"Goodnight, kid." Indigo hummed, taking her hand away from the girl, feeling Bellamy's eyes burning on her.
Indigo then looked up at Bellamy with an irritated look since he was staring at her. Bellamy just kept his usual expression before taking his jacket off, and draping it over the girlโ as a blanket.
"'Night, Charlotte," Bellamy said, before sitting down and leaning against the rock Charlotte was laying on.
"Goodnight." the child simply replied, turning over to her other sideโ Indigo giving her one last smile before glancing down at Bellamy who was just staring at nothing.
Indigo sighedโ it was either sleep, which was horror for her or hanging with Bellamy, which was also horror. Indigo was in hell.
Indigo decided talking to Bellamy wouldn't be as bad as seeing her father's faceโ so, she took a few steps over to where he was sitting.
She sat down beside himโ pulling her knees to her chest and leaning her back against the wall, that Bellamy was also sitting up against. He gave her a questioning look, but she just stared at him blankly.
"What?" he asked, his tone slightly quiet wanting Charlotte to sleep. Indigo then shrugged at him, averting her gaze away from him.
"Nothing," she said blankly, crossing her arms over her chest and holding onto her forearmsโ since it was cold in the cave, and her puffer jacket was still in her tent.
"Cold?" he asked in her same tone, looking away from her. Indigo then slowly laid her legs downโ pushing them away from her chest.
"I'm fine," Indigo muttered, looking down at her
shoesโ not knowing how to make small talk, especially with Bellamy.
"What were you doing out of camp?" Bellamy asked bluntly, turning his head to look at Indigoโ obviously not happy that she was running around in the forest by herself.
"Clarke, Wells, Finn, and I were going to get
some-" Indigo paused, trying to remember exactly what it was, "seaweed, it's like medicine or something." Indigo shrugged.
"Wait-" Bellamy's eyebrows furrowed at her words, "Clarke, Wells, and Finn are out there?" Bellamy asked a tinge of concern dripped into his voice.
"Yeah," Indigo said blandly, pressing her lips into a thin line, realizing they could be hurt right nowโ or worse, dead.
Bellamy's eyes quickly darted in front of him, "Shit." Bellamy muttered, "Clarke's smart. She'll find shelter." he said lowly, glancing back at Indigo.
"Yeah.." Indigo said quietly, guilt filling her
bodyโ wanting to cry at the fact she could be the reason they get hurt, she could've told them to come with her instead.
"Indigo." Bellamy furrowed his eyebrows, his tone serious, Indigo then looked over at him, "They're fine." he tried to calm her nerves.
"You don't know that." Indigo chewed on the inside of her cheek, her eyes quickly darting to her shoes again, lifting her knees to her chest once again, resting her chin on her knees.
"I do." he said seriously, "Now, get some sleep," Bellamy
saidโ shifting slightly to her comfortable. Indigo didn't respond, because she knew she wasn't going to sleep.
The darkness of the cave was already making her want to scream, as memories continued to flow through her brain. Indigo just stayed stillโ trying to imagine the morning, wanting to pass the time. Indigo was sleep-deprived, but she continued to fight sleepโ her eyelids trying to flutter close.
Indigo didn't like Bellamy, but she'd rather argue with him forever instead of having to sleepโ close her eyes and see her father.
Indigo leaned her head against the stone wall behind
herโ glancing at sleeping Charlotte. Indigo wanted to be a kid again, she envied the childhood that she never had. She missed itโ even though it was never in her grasp.
Indigo's eyes closed shutโ drifting off into a sleep that she so desperately needed. Her body slowly leaned over to lay on the floorโ her body laying on the cold stone ground.

"No!" Indigo shoutedโ waking from her sleep in a cold sweat, her body shaking, and her breath quick, her lungs barely even being able to fill them with air.
Her father's face etched into her brainโ the blood that sprayed lightly on Indigo's face. The slight blood dripping out of his mouthโ the collapsing.
Bellamy pulled her out of her sleep while Indigo's
sobbingโ screaming. Indigo constantly was scared of
thisโ this, was going to be the death of her.
She couldn't rid it from her brain, it was probably burned into the inside of her skull by now. Her mind couldn't wander anywhere but to that one specific memory that had ruined her life.
Bellamy quickly woke up, turning to Indigo who was not sat up straightโ her hand on her chest, as if she couldn't breathe.
"Indigo?" Bellamy questioned, his voice raspy, and his eyebrows furrowed at her state, "You okay?" he asked the woman who was only a bit younger than him.
Indigo swallowed thickly and slowly lifted her head to look at Bellamy. Indigo slowly nodded and tucked her hair behind her earsโ trying to calm herself down.
"What happened?" he asked, his tone not concerned, but not annoyed. Bellamy slowly shifted closer to Indigo, causing her to shift backโ which weirded out Bellamy, not understanding why she was scared of him.
"I'll be fine. Go back to sleep." Indigo said, her breath still trying to catch up with itself. Indigo then turned her back to Bellamy, not wanting him to see her like this.
"You're not fine, Scarlett." Bellamy scoffed at her stubbornness, slowly scooting closer to her. Bellamy put his hand on her shoulderโ pulling her so he could see her face.
Indigo gave in with a sigh and moved back around so Bellamy could see her. Bellamy then took his hand off her shoulderโ examining her face for a moment.
"Nightmare?" he questioned her, causing her to dart her eyes away from him. Bellamy sighed at her and put his hand on her forearmโ almost annoyed that he had to do it.
"No. That's stupid." Indigo scoffedโ averting her gaze back to Bellamy when he put his hand on her forearm, "I'm eighteen. I don't have nightmares."
Bellamy rolled his eyes at her, "Everyone does." he took his hand from her arm and leaned against the wall again, "It doesn't matter what your age is."
"It does." Indigo nodded, "I'm not a fucking baby." Indigo spatโ hostile at the fact he had seen her vulnerable three times now, when he grabbed her and pulled her into the cave, and when he pulled her away from her father's bloody body.
Bellamy then sighed again at her words becoming irritated with her attitude, "Fine." he said blankly, giving her what she wantedโ which was nothing.
"No!" Charlotte shouted, causing Indigo and Bellamy to quickly rush to the girl who was panicked. Indigo then slowly shook the girlโ a frown on Indigo's face, knowing the feeling of a nightmare that constantly haunted her.
"Charlotte, wake up," Bellamy said, his tone almost concernedโ but he quickly discarded it once he glanced at Indigo's worried expression.
"I'm sorry." Charlotte apologized to the two older people who were kneeling at her level. Bellamy then glanced at Indigoโ knowing she had a nightmare, then looked back at Charlotte.
"Does it happen often?" Indigo questioned, trying to hide her frown, her hand on Charlotte's kneeโ in her best attempt to comfort the girl, not exactly knowing how to.
Charlotte sighed at her wordsโ her face somber and her body still tense. Bellamy then looked over at Indigo, before asking Charlotte a questionโ which was partially aimed at Indigo.
"What are you scared of?" Bellamy asked the blonde, sending Indigo some looks, trying to sort her nightmares outโ without actually asking her the questions.
Charlotte then just looked down in her lapโ a frown forming on her lips, as if she's scared to say it out loud. Bellamy then shook his head, dismissing his question.
"You know what? It doesn't matter." he said looking up at Charlotte again, "The only thing that matters is what you do about it." Bellamy glanced at Indigo again.
"But... I'm asleep?" Charlotte said confusedโ and more as a question than a statement, not understanding what he meant by that.
Indigo then scoffed at Bellamy and sat up, pulling Bellamy's jacket back over Charlotte, giggling her a small smile.
"He doesn't know what he's talking about," Indigo said to Charlotte, glancing at Bellamy with a glare, then back to Charlotte with a small smile.
"No." Bellamy shook his head at Indigo, "Fears are fears." he paused for a momentโ staring at Indigo, before looking back at Charlotte, "Slay your demons when you're awake, they won't be there to get you when you sleep."
"Not if they're not here," Indigo mumbled under her breath, causing Bellamy to glance at her for a momentโ then back to Charlotte.
"Yeah, but... how?" Charlotte still wasn't getting itโ and neither was Indigo. He wasn't saying anything that would work, or even would make sense in a way.
"You can't afford to be weak." Bellamy shook his head, "Down here, weakness is death- fear is death." Bellamy tried to explain to the young girlโ but Indigo glared at Bellamy, budding in.
"No, that's not true. You're allowed to feel emotion. It's normal, Charlotte." Indigo looked at the girl, giving her a smallโ soft smile.
Bellamy then let out an irritated huff at Indigo before speaking to Charlotte again, "Here, let me see that knife I gave you." he put his hand out.
"You gave her a knife?!" Indigo whisper-shouted at
Bellamyโ to which he nodded with a shrug, and Charlotte handed Bellamy the knife from her pocket.
Bellamy took the knife, "Now, when you feel afraid, you hold tight to that knife and you say, 'Screw you. I'm not afraid.'" Bellamy handed the knife back to the blonde girl.
Indigo shook her head, disapproving of the scene that was playing out at that moment. Charlotte glanced at Indigo, then the knife.
"Screw you. I'm not afraid." Charlotte said blandly, to which Bellamy gave her a 'really?' look. Indigo then sighed, not understanding what the point even was to this, "Screw you. I'm not afraid." she said sternerโ to which Bellamy gave her a small smile.
He sighed and patted Charlotte's leg, "Slay your demons, kid." before moving back to his original spot, "Then you'll be able to sleep."
"You don't need to do any of that." Indigo sighed, trying to keep up a mustered smile, "They're just bad dreams." Indigo saidโ hypocritical.
Indigo then shuffled over to her bag and back to Charlotte. Indigo grabbed one of the half's of her crystallized rock, and put it in the girl's hand.
"Ninety-seven years ago, when people used to live on Earth, they believed that crystals had some sort of protecting power." Indigo said in a soft tone, setting her back back on the floor, "So, as long as you keep that with you, you'll be safe."
Bellamy then stared at the crystals that shined in the small light that was barely peeking into the cave. He stared at Indigo's interaction for a moment, before darting his eyes awayโ almost scolding himself for staring at her.
