INDGIO'S STOMACH GROWLED due to the lack of food she hadn't had in the past two days. Indigo walked out of her tent at the shouting that was heard from the camp. She walked towards the crowded campfire furrowing her eyebrows.

Indigo saw a line of juveniles that were lined up to take their wristbands offโ€” for food. Indigo saw Murphy tossing them into the fire as he took them off. Indigo was infuriatedโ€” looking at Bellamy who had a proud look on his face.

Indigo saw Clarke and Finn standing at the
dropshipโ€” glaring at the scene that was playing.
Indigo then chewed on her cheek but quickly pushed through the crowd. Indigo then went to grab a piece of meat that was skewered over the fire.

"Whoa, whoa. Wait, wait, wait." Murphy put a hand in front of Indigoโ€” blocking her path, not wanting her to grab a piece of meat, "What, you think you play by different rules?" he questioned Indigo.

Indigo then stared at him blankly before picking up a stick of meat, "I thought there were no rules." Indigo stared at himโ€” when his amused expression faltered. Indigo then glanced in Bellamy's directionโ€” who had a blank expression, unsure how to react, "Whatever the hell we want." she said flatly.

Indigo then turned around and began to walk awayโ€” causing Finn and Clarke to give her a proud smile, before going and taking food for themselves. Bellamy then shit her an irritated glance as she walked offโ€” back to her tent.

Indigo got into her tentโ€” zipping it up. She felt guilt ride in her stomach as she sat down on her dropship
seatโ€” staring at the panther meat. Indigo could see it lying on the cloth againโ€” bloody. She was starving but almost couldn't bring herself to eat the food in her hand.

Indigo pressed her lips into a thin line for a moment before bringing the skewered meat to her lips. She swallowed thickly, before quickly taking a bite of the meat, she swallowed itโ€” almost gagging at the thought of its dead body.

Indigo still couldn't sleepโ€” partially because Jasper's screams didn't helpโ€” but because her father's face was burned into her eyes. Bellamy avoided Indigo at all costs, Indigo didn't understand why but didn't much care.

Bellamy didn't like how she defied himโ€” and he knew he wouldn't stop it. So, if he avoided her, it wouldn't be a problem. Right? Wrong.

Indigo still helped with Jasper, even though Bellamy told her he was already a lost cause. Indigo still wouldn't take off her wristband and usually would hang out with Octaviaโ€” sneaking her around, making Bellamy go crazy at the fact she was constantly out of his sight.

Three days. Three days. Indigo didn't like those three days. Constant tension in the camp, Jasper's constant yelling in painโ€” plus they were running low on panther. The camp was falling apartโ€” and no one was trying to pull it together.

Indigo hated the messiness of it allโ€” it made her overwhelmed. She gave up on almost everythingโ€” she was really trying to become betterโ€” do better, but everything just kept tearing her apart.

Finally, after three whole days, Indigo decided to speak to Bellamy. She didn't like the idea of itโ€” but this was too much for her to handle. His constant threats over Jasper, and his doubt about the boy livingโ€” was not helping.

The sun shiningโ€” the rays following Indigo around the camp is what kept her sane. The stars may have taunted her every nightโ€” but it was better than being on the
Arkโ€” where they surrounded her, suffocated her home.

Indigo let out a sighโ€” she had been helping everyone with Jasper all dayโ€” and the day before thatโ€” and the day before that one.

She then tapped on his tent, unsure if she should just barge in. There was a noise of annoyance, but the tent opened, revealing Bellamyโ€” as he kept his hand on the tent flap, almost threatening to close it if she said anything wrong.

Indigo stared at him blanklyโ€” her puffer jacket missing from her arms. Bellamy stared at her for
a secondโ€” before the look shifted into annoyance. Indigo crossed her arms over her chestโ€” letting a scoff out.

"Aren't you going to let me in?" Indigo asked, her tone bluntโ€” her gaze filled with hatred. Bellamy's gaze wasn't hatredโ€” but it wasn't any kind of fondness.

"No." Bellamy stepped out of the tent, standing up straightโ€” mirroring her crossed arms, "What do you want?" he asked annoyed that he even had to speak to herโ€” towering over her, obviously trying to intimidate her.

"I don't care if you've been ignoring me, but the camp is out of control, and Jasper-" Indigo began to
rambleโ€” only irritation coating her words. Bellamy quickly cut her off, finishing her sentence for her.

"Doesn't have much time left." he scoffed at her words, causing Indigo to bite her cheekโ€” tired of constant confrontation, she hated it.

"You know what? Never mind." Indigo sighed, realizing that she would never get through to Bellamyโ€” since he was nothing but stubborn, "I'm just tired of your constant shit." Indigo spat outโ€” rage slowly trying to bubble its way out of her.

"My constant shit?" he asked in an amused tone, "You're the one who's making things more complicated." Bellamy made sure to hit a nerve in the girl, which hit her harder than she would've liked.

Indigo let out a sigh of amusement, "Go fuck yourself." Indigo spat out at him, slowly stepping backwardโ€” tired of Bellamy. Indigo then turned around and walked away.

Indigo only wanted to sort things out with himโ€” she wanted to quit the petty shit, but Bellamy loved it. She hated how stubborn he wasโ€” she hated it all.

Indigo was using, her own water in her tent, to bring to Jasper. Indigo then froze when she heard him screaming loudlyโ€” worse than before. Indigo dropped everything she was doing, and rushed to dropshipโ€” Octavia already rushing up the ladder.

Indigo quickly rushed up the ladder too, all the way up to the third level. Octavia quickly pulled herself up to the third level before Indigo could.

"Stop it!" Octavia shouted at Clarkeโ€” whilst pulling herself into the third level, and quickly rushing beside Octavia, "You're killing him."

"She's trying to save his life." Finn defended, holding Jasper down. Indigo nodded slowly at Finnโ€” opening her mouth to ask what she could do to help, but was quickly interrupted.

"She can't." Bellamy's voice boomed through the metal ship as he arrived on the third level. Everyone on the level looked over at Bellamyโ€” glaring at his doubt.

Indigo refused to look at himโ€” she didn't care anymore, she was going to avoid him at all costsโ€” well, unless she needed to defend anyone.

Wells quickly stoodโ€” letting go of Jasper, "Back off." he warned lowly, not breaking eye contact with Bellamy, who just stared at him. Bellamy's gaze then shifted when Clarke began to speak.

"We didn't drag him through miles of woods just to let him die," Clarke said sternly, not taking her eyes off Jasper.

"Kid's a goner." Bellamy said in an almost scolding tone, clearly thinking they were wasting their time, "If you can't see that you're deluded. He's making people crazy."

Indigo then couldn't hold it down anymoreโ€” this morning and the past three days of just constant shit from Bellamy made her snap.

"Sorry if Jasper's an inconvenience to you, but this isn't the Ark." Indigo snapped, looking over her shoulder at Bellamy with a stern look, "Down here every life matters."

"Take a look at him. He's a lost cause." Bellamy said lowlyโ€” almost trying to reason with the group who was trying their best to save the boy who lay in front of them.

It was quiet as they all stared down at the boy whose fever was constantly skyrocketing. Indigo shifted her gaze back to the wounded boy and frowned. She brushed a piece of hair out of his faceโ€” whilst Octavia patted his head with a cool rag.

"Octavia," Indigo looked over at the girl, her tone soft, "Clarke knows what she's doing." Indigo nodded slowly, before glancing at Clarke who nodded at her words.

"I've spent my whole life watching my mother heal people. If I say there's hope, there's hope." Clarke spoke softly to the girl tooโ€” Indigo didn't know that Clarke's mother was a doctor, so that really helped their case.

"This isn't about hope, it's about guts." Bellamy budded into their conversation, "You don't have the guts to make the hard choices. I do." he shook his head at the girls who were all staring down at Jasper, "He's been like this for three days."

Indigo chewed on her bottom lip at his words, scared that this was going to be all for nothing. Bellamy's words from this morning still looming in her thoughts.

"You're the one who's making things more complicated."

Maybe this was her faultโ€” maybe she shouldn't be here. She should've been floated, not to have a second chance on Earth. Earth wasn't fond of her in the way she hoped.

"If he's not better by tomorrow, I'll kill him myself." Bellamy said sternly, stepping backโ€” glancing at each of them before stepping towards the ladder, "Octavia, let's go."

Octavia didn't speak for a momentโ€” wrapping up a piece of cloth, "I'm staying here." she spoke, not even glancing at her brother.

Bellamy stared at his sister for a moment, before descending back down the ladder. They all stayed quiet for a momentโ€” not wanting to speak until he was out of earshot.

"Power-hungry, self-serving jackass." Monty spat out as he stared at the ladderโ€” then glanced back down at his best friend, "He doesn't care about anyone but himself." he muttered, but as soon as the words left his mouth, Octavia looked down in her lap, "No offense." Monty apologizedโ€” glancing her way.

Octavia just shook her head at himโ€” dismissing the apology. It went quiet again, only gloom floating through the third level of the dropship.

"Yeah, Bellamy is all that." Finn agreed, before pausing briefly, "But he also happens to be right." he added, causing Indigo to quickly look up at him, caught by surprise by his words.

Indigo was sat outsideโ€” a somber look present on her face, as she picked bark off a tree. Indigo sat on a large rock in the forest. Everyone told her to take a break, but she refused until Clarke physically pushed her out of the dropship.

Clarke claimed they all needed to be outside for a
bitโ€” since the dropship was so depressing. Monty and Octavia went outside for two minutes, before heading back into the dropship.

Indigo was a sensitive girl but tried her best not to show itโ€” failing most of the time. She wasn't a fan of physical touchโ€” or really any kind of kindness. The only thing that his her hard were words.

Words hurt her more than a stab to the stomach.

Indigo was never shown any kind of real love from her parents. They refused to even hug herโ€” so, she wasn't the best with physical touch, since she never received it.

But what she was used to was words. She was constantly fed wordsโ€” not kind words, but words. Indigo only knew words, so when someone spoke, she would listen intently, believing that was a way of showing her fondness for them.

Indigo could probably recite everything Monty had told her about trying to communicate with the Ark. Sure, she didn't understand what he meant but most thingsโ€” but she could listen, and try to understand.

That's why Indigo tried to ignore Bellamy, only spouting rude words at him, and trying to tune his ridiculous words, out. Indigo really disliked Bellamy, she wouldn't deny it.

If Bellamy asked her if she didn't like him, she would say 'yes' with a smile plastered on her faceโ€” as if he wouldn't kill her, maybe throw her into the large bonfire that was constantly burning.

The only thing Indigo admired about Bellamy was his hair. Is that weird? Yeah.

But Indigo didn't careโ€” and she wouldn't lie about it either. If anyone asked her what she liked about him, she'd say his hair.

Indigo loved to compliment peopleโ€” since she loved words. Indigo didn't have a problem with complimenting someone. They could probably have slapped her and she still was saying their shirt was cool.

"Indigo!" Clarke's voice rang through her earsโ€” pulling Indigo from her trance. Indigo then hopped off her rock, and, saw Clarke, Wells, and Finn walking towards her.

The three all had bags that were supplied under the seats of the dropshipโ€” that Indigo evidently didn't find. Clarke walked closer to the girl and tossed a bag at her, that was full of rations.

"What's going on?" Indigo askedโ€” thinking they were going to run from camp, mainly because of Bellamy, but Indigo wouldn't leave without Octavia if that was the case.

"We're going to look for seaweed, it might help Jasper." Clarke retorted, glancing at Wells and Finn then back to Indigo.

"Okay." Indigo nodded, throwing the bag across her shoulder, and adjusting it quickly, "Let's go?" Indigo said more as a question at how quickly she was thrown into the mission.

Clarke gave her a nodโ€” beginning to walk away, causing Finn and Wells to quickly follow behind. Indigo watched them follow the blonde for a moment before following the three.

Silence filled the air as the group walked together through the green forest. Indigo kept kicking a rock that had been the same one since they had started walking. Every time they had to go up a hill, or somewhere that she couldn't kick the rockโ€” she'd pick it up, and wait until she could place it down again.

Wells finally spoke up, "You know, you should, uh, really rethink this whole hating me thing." Wells said to Clarke, as they walked up a hill, causing Indigo to pick up the rock and put it in her pants pocket, "It's not just the grounders. We're surrounded by criminals.

Indigo didn't like the word 'criminals' it made her slightly grimaceโ€” her father's face flickering through her vision once again.

"We need each other." Wells said to Clarke, who wasn't even responding to him, "We're going to be friends again." Wells said in a sure tone.

"You got my dad killed." Clarke began, making Indigo's eyes widen at her blunt words. Indigo didn't know why Clarke always was weird to Wellsโ€” she just assumed because his dad was the Chancellor, "Not possible."

Clarke began to walk fasterโ€” trying to get away from Wells. Indigo was so into the conversation she didn't even take the rock out of her pocket to kick it around anymore.

"This is Earth, Clarke, anything's possible," Wells said, as they all continued to walk up the steep hill. Wells didn't gain a response from Clarkeโ€” which Indigo now understood why.

The four climbed up the steep hillโ€” and Clarke was way ahead of the three. Finn then helped Indigo, as she almost fell backwardโ€” he quickly grabbed her arm, pulling her up the hill.

Indigo gave him a thankful smile as Wells came up from the hill after Indigo. Finn then watched him climb up and begin to speak.

"I'd let it go," Finn advised the boyโ€” causing Wells to let out an annoyed sigh at Finn's voice, clearly not the biggest fan of Finn.

"Yeah. Well, I've known Clarke her whole life better than you ever will, so, I'll decide when to let it go." Wells snapped at Finn as they began to walk through the thick green forest again.

Indigo glanced at Wellsโ€” surprised at his snappy tone, and how he avoided talking about Clarke's father at all costs.

"Yeah, I can tell you guys are close." Finn said sarcastically then stopped when he stepped on something that made a loud 'bang' noise.

Indigo stepped closerโ€” not even interested in their conversation anymore. Wells slowly came to a stop and looked at the two with a confused look, whilst Clarke stopped and turned around. Indigo kicked the ground twiceโ€” reviving two loud metal 'bangs'.

"What is it?" Clarke asked the two who were messing with the metal ground. Finn and Indigo looked at each other in unison, before they both kneeled.

Indigo quickly began to dig at the ground with her hands and saw glassโ€” that reflected her face on it. Indigo's breath hitched at the way she looked. She looked older it never occurred to her that she looked the way she did.

She never had thought that she was so different since the last time she had saw herself. Indigo frowned at the sightโ€” almost disappointed that she grew up.

Indigo then stood upโ€” brushing her pants off, before trying to open the door to the old automobile, "Um." Indigo began, as she yanked it once more, causing it to open, "It's an automobile." Indigo smiled at the inside seating.

Finn and Wells looked over her shoulder into the red car wanting to explore itโ€” but the fun was cut short once they were pulled back into reality by Clarke.

"Come on, you guys. This thing's been here for a hundred years." Clarke began, knowing they couldn't take many stops if they wanted to get back before dark, "Alright? It can wait. Jasper can't."

The three sighed in defeat, whilst Indigo frownedโ€” but closed the door to the old machine, causing Wells and Finn to walk away.
