clasping her hands together, amandla smiles nervously at the camera. ❝ hi! ❞ she exclaims, separating her hands and waving them. ❝ good morning everyone! right now, i'm in harrison's car. he and keilah just picked me up from the airport and we have just arrived at my new home! ❞ she breathes, a wide smile on her face as she picks up the camera. ❝ wow, i can't believe that's even a real sentence, but it's officially moving day! so, here's the start to my moving vlog. ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟬:𝟭𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

amandla laughs. ❝ i just—i can't believe it. i'm a real adult now. i moved across the country and now live on my own, i just— ❞ she laughs again. ❝ as you can tell, i haven't filmed a video in a while. i mean, i did three days ago, but this is different. i feel like all of a sudden i'm stuck in the space-time continuum and am just aimlessly flying around, not really sure what's going on and what my life has become. ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟬:𝟭𝟳 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ as i said before, this is the moving vlog. i'm very excited, yay! ❞ amandla cheers, pumping up her fist. ❝ i decided to film this entire process because you all asked me to and i just love love love moving, renovating, decorating, shopping—like all of that so as soon i decided i was moving, i was like "i've got to do so many room videos and tours." obviously, there will be full room tours of some of the rooms and a flat tour coming at some point— ❞

the door to the car opens and amandla turns her head. ❝ *beep* quit talking to the camera! we want to see the place! ❞ keilah says off-screen.

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟬:𝟮𝟵 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

walking backward, amandla jumps up in the air. ❝ yay! ❞ amandla shouts, her voice echoing in the background. laughing, she walks forward and picks up the camera, ❝ we literally just walked in and i'm already in love. it's so much better than the videos and pictures portrayed online. ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟬:𝟯𝟯 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ so, i did some talking with my mom while searching for a place to live. i plan on living here long-term and not moving back to the states. also, before anyone asks in the comments below, yes, i am applying for dual-citizenship. i've given it a lot of thought and talked it over with my manager and the registrar and office of administrations at Stanford. i can still be enrolled in the current online program i'm in right now, so my education will continue here. also, with my job, i can do it anywhere, honestly.

❝ anyway, i decided that the place in which i live in here has to be a property that i can see myself living in for the next ten years, at the very least. i don't want to be someone who moves around a lot and bounces from place to place. that's too time-consuming and costly, and i'm someone who needs structure and a stable environment. if i moved into a flat, knowing that my lease would be up at a certain time, i would be hesitant to even unpack everything because i know i would be leaving at some point.

❝ so, i didn't sleep for the longest time and spent days searching for a house to buy. eventually, god answered my prayers, and a house that matched everything i wanted appeared on the market and after talking to the sellers, video-chatting with them, and doing a virtual house tour, as well as looking at pictures of the outside of the home, and researching the area it was located in, i decided to close in on it.

❝ this is where i plan to adopt my first dog, get married, have kids, and grow old, blah, blah, blah. everything. the place i bought is breathtaking, honestly. ❞ amandla sighs. ❝ okay, enough talking! time to show you guys a bit of the place! ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟮:𝟮𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ wait... ❞ amandla pauses after she walks into a large empty space, turning the camera to face a mirror above the fireplace. ❝ can you see me up here? no, i'm too short. dang it. ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟱:𝟰𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ the movers just got here with the stuff i shipped overseas almost a week ago, ❞ amandla says, squinting. ❝ there's a whole crew helping out so the only thing i have to do is bring in my carry-on from harrison's car.  ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ good morning, everyone. it is day two. harrison and keilah are back at their place and i'm here with my chamomile tea and blowup mattress! ❞ amandla says, lowering her arm. ❝ last night, i ended on the note saying that i wasn't going to unpack anything. i was just going to relax and go to bed, which is exactly what i did. ❞

leaning down a bit, amandla smiles. ❝ i've already done my makeup for the day, it's a spicy nine am right now and i have some errands to run. i have some stuff to drop off at keils's place that she asked me to bring and then i'm meeting with a friend. i don't know how long that'll take, but i'm planning on coming back here and beginning to unpack some of my things. ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ hi guys! as you can tell, it's a different day, ❞ amandla says, shielding her eyes from the sun. ❝ actually, it's a different week because i stopped filming for a bit. everything got super overwhelming and i just—i needed some time to settle in and get my shit together. however, in the past week, i finished hard-wooding/flooring the entire house, by myself, might i add. i'm very proud of myself for that. also, i finished my dining room; it is painted and furnished, the lights have been replaced with a chandelier and it looks beautiful.

❝ the guest bedroom upstairs has been painted, decorated, and furnished. i just finished renovating the guest bathroom as well last night. so, if you couldn't tell, i've been spending my entire time working on the house. sleep? we don't know her. ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟭𝟭:𝟭𝟲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ so, i just got back from picking up the paint for my room and now it's time to get to work! ❞ amandla says, bending down and placing her hands on her knees. ❝ if you couldn't tell, i've tapped off the edges of my door and the lights so i won't get any paint on those, hopefully. ❞

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟭𝟭:𝟭𝟵 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

turning her head, amandla smiled at the camera. ❝ i drew a smiley face, ❞ she laughs.

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟭𝟮:𝟬𝟭 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ you may remember how like a moment ago, i had like a quirky moment, ❞ amandla says, moving her hand around, ❝ and i painted a smiley face on my wall. well, i was apparently too busy vlogging because it dried a little bit, ❞ she laughs, reaching up and itching the bridge of her nose. ❝ and you can still see it under the paint, ❞ she squeals, bursting into laughter and covering her mouth with her hand.

leaving her mouth open, she looks from the wall to the camera and then back to the wall. ❝ like i don't know what to do, ❞ she says, waving her hand side-to-side in front of her face.

the clip jumps and she has her hand resting against the side of her head. ❝ we're just gonna have to live with it. it's just gonna have to be... part of the look now. ❞ she sighs.

𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲⠀⠀𝟭𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀

❝ wow, i look awful, ❞ amandla laughs as she looks at her bun in the camera. ❝ so, this is present-day me popping in at the end of the video to say: hello! this first vlog was very shambolic, and i am so sorry. the first three weeks of living here were really rough for me. obviously, it doesn't show that in the vlog because i wanted to give you all some happy and positive content to watch. however, things have been very unstable in my personal, private life and my mental health has just jumped into the deep end for a minute too long now.

❝ in concern of how my house is coming along, it's going pretty well! my kitchen, office, bathrooms, closet, and living room are all done! everything has been furnished, renovated, painted, decorated, organized—the whole shebang. as for my room and nerd cave, those are a work-in-progress. my room is about done, but i'm still trying to figure out how i want to organize everything in my nerd cave, so that's been taking a little bit longer.

❝ the next vlog is going to be of me renovating my office and finishing the living room. also, ethan will be in it. for everyone who keeps requesting to see him on my channel, here's something to look forward to! we like to keep our relationship very private and off-camera as much as we can. hence why there aren't a lot of videos of us together on youtube, but there's some ethandla content coming so get excited for that, i guess.

❝ aside from all of that, i wanted to say that i'm back! i know i took a bit of a break but it was needed and i'm very grateful for all of your support and love online throughout the past month. i love you all so much and i hope you're doing well! please, take care of yourselves and have a good thanksgiving for all those in america.

     hey everyone!! i hope you all enjoyed the eighty-third chapter!

     i love writing youtube video-based chapters, they're honestly the best but take the longest. there are going to be three more youtube video-based chapters in this book before it concludes. those will be in chapters 99, 106, and 109.

     this was a bit of a filler but the next two chapters are going to be pretty eventful &&& sad :( so get some tissues!
