"hey, love!" tom smiles, looking away from the car window.

amandla smiles and waves at the camera. "hey! are you with someone right now?" she asks, her brows furrowing as she grew confused as to why the actor was in a car.

tom shakes his head, "no, i'm in the car alone since it's quite warm outside and i'm dying just the tiniest bit from stunt training."

"just the tiniest bit?" amandla asks, raising a brow as a playful smirk spread across her lips.

rolling his eyes, the brown-haired boy chuckled. "okay, maybe a little bit more than that. hush," he mumbled as a smile lined his cheeks. "so, why'd you want to talk? is everything all right?" he asked; trying to ignore the growing ball of anxiety that was chewing at his insides.

"so, i've been thinking—"

"oh no, that's not good," tom joked, cutting the black-haired girl off.

rolling her eyes, she quickly flipped him off. "like i was saying... i've been thinking and having this like, constant back-and-forth battle inside of my head about whether or not i want to ask you to be my boyfriend. i hate the whole stereotype that a "man" has to be the one to ask or make the first move because it's stupid, sexist, and a gendered ideology that is ridiculous. however, i also want to take into account and acknowledge the fact that we may want different things from whatever it is that is going on between us.

"we've already both told each other how we feel, but we haven't talked about what we want. i don't know if you want a relationship or not at the moment given filming and your career, which is only going to get even busier with time, but i do and i want more than just kissing and cute dates. although, i do love those. i just want more. i want things to be official, i guess you would say. i don't know. i'm sort of rambling here, but i just—what do you want?" amandla finished quickly, letting out a sigh.

at first, she wasn't positive if tom was able to understand a word she had said due to how fast she had spoken, but he appeared to have as a wider smile spread across his face. "yes, i will be your boyfriend," he answered, nodding.

blinking, the youtuber's eyes widened. "wait—really?" she questioned, almost in disbelief. the last time she'd asked someone to be her boyfriend or girlfriend, they said no and she'd never asked since. hence, why she had spoken in such a panic. it already took so much to send the text asking if they could talk, and she just wanted to ask and get it over with before things continued and she ended up somewhere she didn't want to be. or worse—got rejected, again.

at seeing the stunned, yet adorable look on the girl's face, tom felt his heart melt. "yeah," he murmured softly. "i uh, i haven't been in a relationship or searching for one for a really long time, but when we met, that kind of changed. i really, really like you. like a lot and i want to see where this goes. i'm not saying there won't be difficulties, obviously, with both of our jobs, but i believe that we can make it work if we both put in the effort."

amandla nodded, "i agree and i really, really like you too."

"i'm glad. wait, james just texted. it's time for me to head back out. i'm really happy that we talked, girlfriend," tom said cheekily, winking.

letting out a laugh, she shook her head. "me too, boyfriend. you're adorable. i'll see you later," she smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"see you later, love."

     hey everyone!! i hope you all enjoyed the forty-first chapter!

     TOMANDLA IS FINALLY TOMANDLA!! THEY'RE OFFICIALLY TOGETHER!!

     i loved writing this and this is one of the most memorable moments from act one of this book. i remember writing this the first time and loving how i had amandla ask tom to be her boyfriend. i wanted to do something that deviated from the norm in most relationships and tom holland fan fictions. also, amandla has quite a dominant personality and it makes a lil more sense that she would ask.

     the next chapter is mainly a filler one, but the infamous avengers groupchat will be making its debut in the book! i won't be including it a lot, probably just one more time, because so many people use it in their t.h. books and i wanted to do my own thing. also, this story is primarily about amandla, her friends, tom, and harrison. not necessarily marvel and its respective cast.
