     "YOU DO REALIZE that I don't leave for another hour, right?" the black-haired girl asked, raising a brow as she looked over to the boy on her left. Placing her phone down on the counter next to the couch, she watched as Tom looked over at her, a frown on his face.

     "I don't want you to go yet," he sighed, running his hands through his hair from where he laid on the couch.

     Amandla frowned at his words, a sinking feeling settling in her chest as the reality of her actually leaving was beginning to hit her. Looking down at her hands, she played with the rings on her fingers silently.

     Noticing her sad and silent behavior, Tom's frown deepened. "Hey," he said softly, his voice causing her to look over at him, "come here." Gesturing for her to come closer, he held his arms out. A small smile spread across Amandla's cheeks and she scooted down, laying down beside the brown-haired boy.

     Turning on her side, she felt her heart-rate accelerate as she noticed how close their faces were. Wrapping his arm around her waist, Tom pulled her closer so she wouldn't fall off the edge of the couch.

     Goosebumps crawled down Amandla's spine and her breath hitched in her throat once she made eye contact with the actor. Feeling his breath gently fan over her face, she gulped, feeling her nerves go into overdrive.

     Their eyes were locked as neither of them spoke; simply just soaking in the moment and how it felt to be that close to the other. Every part of Tom was screaming at him to do something—make a move—but he couldn't. He couldn't find the confidence to close the little distance between them, even though he wanted to more than anything.

     If he made a move—what would happen?

     What would it do to their friendship?

     How would Amandla react?

     There were too many questions with no answers.

     He couldn't.

     Even though he didn't know it, Amandla's thoughts were running parallel to his. Every part of her was screaming at her to do something—anything, but she just felt trapped under his gaze.

     Without realizing it, she brought her left hand up and cupped his cheek, running her thumb over it softly. Blinking, Tom darted his eyes to her hand and back up to her face, his brows furrowing slightly.

     "Can I ask you something?" the brown-haired boy asked, breaking the peaceful silence. Amandla nodded, her eyes meeting his once more. "Does it bother you that people ship us together?"

     The YouTuber shook her head, running her thumb over his cheek again. "No, not really," she breathed, "why? Does it bother you?"

     Tom shook his head lightly, wrapping his arm around her waist more and bringing her closer. Noticing the diminishing distance, Amandla gulped, the sound of her heart-beat clogging her ears. "It doesn't bother me at all, I think it's kind of cute. I just wanted to see if it bothered you," Tom admitted, feeling her hand move from resting on his cheek to wrapping around his waist.

     "If it bothered me, then I wouldn't feel so comfortable being this close to you," the black-haired girl spoke, the words escaping her lips before she could stop them. The actor raised his brows exceedingly high, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. Realizing what she just said, Amandla groaned, shutting her eyes. "I just made things weird by saying that, didn't I? I didn't mean to, it just—" her words were stopped short as Tom placed a finger over her lips.

     Opening her eyes, they were wide as she stared back at him in slight confusion. "Mandy, it's fine. You didn't make things weird, alright?" Tom asked, raising a brow. Amandla nodded weakly as he brushed her hair out of her face, watching as he smiled softly at her before wrapping his arm back around her waist.

     The sound of a phone beeping echoed in the trailer and the black-haired girl sighed, closing her eyes again.

     That was her cue.

     "My Uber is here," she whispered, feeling Tom's arm tighten at her words. Reopening her eyes, she noticed that his were shut.

     "This might be the first time that you're leaving, but I don't think I'll ever get good at saying goodbye to you," Tom mumbled.

     A frown spread across her face and Amandla moved forward, pressing her head into his chest and holding onto him tightly. There was an ache in her chest as his words set-in. Saying goodbye to Tom was never going to be easy. Leaving him was never going to get easier if she couldn't force herself to even pull out of his arms.

     "I'll be back soon, I promise."

     hey everyone!! i hope you all enjoyed the twenty-fifth chapter!

     #TOMANDLA is the cutest shit ever, i love them so much. i hate that they're separating, but they reunite in (spoiler) chapter 35! things are going to be getting a little more interesting! both tom and amandla will be trying to figure out their feelings, keilah will be getting a potential/future love interest, amandla gets offered something really exciting, there's some twitter drama/tea, and a massive "break up."

     i'm very excited for what's to come!

     also, yes, i know i put a watermark on kelsey/amandla's neck. it's just so if anyone steals it, it's harder to get rid of. anyways! all manips made in this chapter were all created by me. as well as the filters i used. DO NOT STEAL THEM! I WILL FIND OUT! yes, i know these aren't the best. i made them over a year ago when i originally wrote this, and yes, the manips get a lot better in the future and look more realistic. these were the first two manips i ever made, so that is why they look awful, and i'm too lazy to make new ones.
