実生活 // 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞

THE DOUBLE DOORS THAT LED INTO THE GIGANTIC HIGH SCHOOL SLAMMED SHUT AND AMANDLA GAZED DOWN THE LONG HALLWAY NERVOUSLY. Her uber had just dropped her off and she'd gotten through the security surrounding the building fine, all she had to do was find Zendaya.

Apprehensively making her way down the entrance, she bounded up the staircase that was directly in front of her. Once she got to the top, she sighed as she met the dull gaze of a long hallway; grey lockers lining the walls and brown, wooden doors closed.

Being in this building was giving her flashbacks to high school and she hated it.

Pushing away the memories of her high school years, she turned around and looked down the stairs at the sound of the double-doors opening. A security guard walked in and briefly waved to her before heading straight into the main office.

"Amandla!" A voice shouted and she spun around, readjusting the strap of her bag on her shoulder as a figure sprinted towards her.

Recognizing the familiar flow of brown, curly hair and bright smile, the girl broke into a huge grin, sprinting to meet the latter. Once she'd gotten close enough she jumped up, wrapping her legs around her torso and hugging her tightly.

The two wobbled slightly as they stood in each other's embrace silently.

After a minute, Amandla pulled away, the anxious bundle of butterflies that had been present in her stomach all morning were gone and she felt relieved. "Dude, oh my God, I've missed you so much," she breathed.

"I've missed you too girl, I'm so happy you're here," Zendaya beamed, letting go of the black-haired beauty and she jumped down, her contagious smile never wavering as she noticed a group of people walking up to them. "I'm so excited for you to meet everyone—"

     "Holy shit, it's Amandla Jones!"

Turning their heads, both girls looked to the others who had just joined them. Amandla's eyes were slightly wide as they landed on Laura Harrier, who had just screamed. Zendaya sighed, rubbing her temples before gesturing to her co-stars, "Mands—this is Laura, Tony, and Jacob. Guys, this is one of my best friends, Amandla."

"I'm so sorry for screaming, I just got excited. I've been watching your videos for like two years, so when I found out Zendaya and Tom were friends with you I kind of flipped. Now, I'm rambling, great." Laura sighed, shaking her head.

"Sorry about her, she's a little crazy. Hi, I'm Tony," Tony introduced himself and Amandla returned the smile he shot her way.

Jacob rolled his eyes. "I'm apologizing in advance for the mess you'll probably witness today, but hey, I'm Jacob." The black-haired girl laughed softly, the sound of it causing Zendaya to smile as she knew she was becoming more comfortable.

"It's so nice to meet you guys, I've heard great things!" she said, tucking her straightened hair behind her ears.

Laura smiled widely, tucking her phone into her back pocket as Zendaya checked the time. "We have to be back in the auditorium in less than fifteen minutes, we better head back," she sighed, grabbing onto Amandla's hand and dragging her further into the school.

The group reached the end of the hallway and turned left, all of them, aside from Amandla, knowing exactly where to go.

"We've heard great things about you as well, especially from Tom," Tony mused, falling back to what they were previously discussing. He and Jacob watched as the girl blushed and glanced down at her black boots.

"Oh yeah, all Tom talks about is you," Jacob added, only causing more heat to rise to the YouTuber's cheeks.

Zendaya groaned, "I'm so glad you're here, maybe after you two meet he'll finally shut up." Amandla looked over to her, raising a brow. "Look, I love you, but if I hear him talk about how amazing and awesome you are one more time... that kid's going to have two black-eyes."

Bursting into laughter, the black-haired girl quickly covered her mouth as the crew members they were passing by up the stairs glared over at the group.

After climbing up two sets of stairs, Jacob pushed open a door and they began to walk down another hallway. "This place is fucking huge," Amandla mumbled, her eyes wide in awe as they passed by a cafeteria.

"Yeah, it is, but you get used it after a while." Laura shrugged, to which Tony nodded in agreement.

"By the way, Harrison is distracting Tom during the break right now, so he doesn't notice that all four of us left to go get you. He still doesn't know that you're coming today." Zendaya clarified, glancing at her best friend who snorted, the corners of her lips tugging upwards.

Turning right, the group walked in a large auditorium where they were filming most of their scenes for the day.

Amandla's curious eyes wandered over the room and she noticed two long desks up on the stage with bells placed on them. Chairs were scattered randomly, and another desk was positioned right in front of the stage, a navy blue chair next to it.

"Harrison, I don't care about your juggling skills!" A voice groaned and her eyes landed on the British boy whom she'd been texting for close to two months now. His back was facing her, and Harrison was standing in front of him, three oranges in his hands as he attempted to juggle them.

"Mate, I promise you; I've gotten better, just wait." Harrison protested, glancing away from his best friend to the people heading their way.

Tom groaned, running his hands over his face with his eyes shut as Harrison smirked, letting the oranges fall to the ground.

Covering her mouth, Amandla struggled to stifle the laugh that was threatening to burst loose as the brown-haired boy looked down to the floor. "Dude... no, you haven't. You literally just dropped all of them, you div," he snapped, annoyed.

Harrison shrugged, "You know what they say: practice makes perfect."

"In your case, I don't think that saying applies at all," the actor retorted, rolling his eyes and failing to notice the growing smirk on his best friend's face.

Snorting, Jacob glanced at Tony, who was grinning; both of them, along with everyone else, excited to see Tom's reaction to the girl being there.

"Be easy on Harrison, Thomas. He's trying his best." Amandla spoke up, allowing Laura to take her bag and place it in a nearby chair. Playing with the rings on her fingers, she held her breath as she waited for a response.

The sound of her voice caused the British boy to freeze, his breath getting caught in his throat as he felt his heart-rate accelerate faster than it ever had before.

     It was her.

Tom slowly turned around; his eyes wide as they met hers'.

It was silent in the auditorium and Amandla could hear the pounding of her heart clogging her ears. The sound of it progressively got louder and louder, which only resulted in making her even more anxious than before. Letting out a shaky breath, she smiled softly.

The sight of her smiling was what snapped Tom out of his trance and he quickly ran towards her. She stepped forward right as his arms wrapped around her and he pulled her into his chest. Nearly immediately, she wrapped her arms around him tightly, burying her head into the crook of his neck.

"Holy shit, you're here," he whispered, his eyes fluttering shut as he held onto her as if she was going to be ripped away at any moment. "You're actually here. You're real."

Amandla laughed into his chest, the sound of it was muffled but he heard it regardless. A smile that mirrored the one she wore etched itself onto his face and he sighed softly. "Yeah, I'm here, and yes, I'm real," she replied, hesitantly pulling away and out of his arms.

"How come—why didn't you tell me you were coming?" he stuttered, his eyes washing over her.

"I told you last week that it was a surprise," she shrugged, a blissful smile glued to her face.

"Oh, you definitely surprised him," Harrison spoke up, walking forward and smiling at the black-haired girl who had unknowingly managed to capture his best friend's heart.

Turning around, Tom frowned. "You knew?" he asked incredulously.

"Of course, I did," Harrison responded without missing a beat. "Zendaya and I were the first ones who knew what day she was coming."

The brown-haired boy gasped, looking to the actress who had her arms wrapped around Amandla, a tired look glossing over her face. "What? I was the one who invited her to set in the first place and she said it was fine if Harrison knew, as long as he didn't ruin the surprise." Zendaya defended herself, resting her chin on top of the girl's head.

"I feel betrayed," Tom said dramatically, placing a hand over his heart as he looked to Amandla, who was holding herself back from laughing at the adorable look on his face.

     "Good," Zendaya mumbled, yawning.

"Break's over everyone! Let's get back to shooting!" John Watts yelled as he walked back into the room.

Tony groaned and grudgingly headed towards the stage with Jacob and Laura, Zendaya following behind them after she'd blown Amanda a kiss. "So, how long are you staying?" Tom quickly asked, causing the YouTuber to look back over to him.

"As long as everyone wants me to. Z's letting me spend a few nights in her hotel room since Albany is almost three hours away from here," she answered, watching as the boy in front of her grinned.

"Tom! We're almost ready to start back up, get in position!"

"I'll see you later, yeah?" the actor asked, reluctantly backing away from Amandla and Harrison. Amandla nodded, giving him a smile before he turned around and jogged over to the navy-blue chair that was in front of the stage.

Harrison turned to the girl beside him. "We're not usually allowed to stay and watch them film. You know, spoilers and all of that," he said, nudging the black-haired girl lightly. "You wanna go steal some food from the craft table?"

Amandla quickly looked to him; her eyes wide. "Uh, hell yeah."

WITH FOCUSED EYES, Amandla watched diligently as the boy across from her flipped the nearly empty water bottle for the hundredth time. The two collectively held their breath, both of them silently praying that it finally landed right-side up. Sitting on the carpeted floor of Zendaya's trailer, their eyes remained trained on the bottle as it landed. Subconsciously, they bit the bottom of their lips and watched as it teetered side-to-side before collapsing, pitifully, to the ground.

Amandla groaned, falling back onto the floor dramatically and staring at the trailer ceiling in defeat. "Dammit," Harrison whined, leaning back lazily until his back hit the couch.

"Dammit's right and we're all out of doughnuts, but I'm still hungry. I need food." The YouTuber complained and right on cue, her stomach growled.

The boy to her left laughed loudly, shaking his head. "Dude, you sound just like Tom," he noted, sending her a knowing smirk.

Covering her face, she groaned again, "Shut up, Harrison!"

The door to the trailer suddenly opened and the two jumped in surprise as everyone walked in. "Uh, why are there five water bottles and two doughnut boxes in here?" Zendaya questioned, pointing to the mess that laid in front of the two. Harrison and Amandla shared mildly-panicked glances, silently agreeing to keep quiet. "Well?"

"So, you guys wanna order food or go out? Amandla's really hungry even though she ate like fifty doughnuts," Harrison announced, deciding to pin the blame for the two boxes on the latter.

Scowling, the black-haired girl glared at him from where she laid on the floor. "Harrison, I will not hesitate to chuck these water bottles at your forehead," she threatened grumpily, feeling herself only becoming hungrier.

Jacob snorted as he and Laura walked over to the couch, sitting down.

"It looks like you two had fun while we were filming," Tony said, gesturing to the mess on the floor.

Both Amandla and Harrison shrugged. "At first we were but then after playing 20 Questions like three times, we got bored," the blonde admitted, watching as his best mate was gazing at the girl beside him.

"You said Amandla was hungry, and so am I. Do you guys want to go out and get food? We could do something fun like go bowling or go to an arcade after." Laura suggested, looking to Zendaya who was nodding in agreement.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Jacob said, winking at both Harrison and Tom.

"Yes, please, I'm starving," the black-haired girl said from her place on the floor, glaring over at Zendaya who was taking a picture of her.

Tony pulled out his phone, "I'll go ahead and get an uber for us."

Pushing off from the floor, Harrison wedged himself between Laura and Jacob on the couch, sending them cheeky grins.

Looking over at Tom, Amandla watched as he walked over to her, his hand outstretched. Biting the inside of her cheek, she resisted the urge to smile. She reached up and grabbed onto his hand, allowing him to help her get up.

Noticing how little space there was between the two of them once she was standing, Amandla gulped, feeling her heart stop beating for a moment before she stepped back. Their hands disconnected and she felt the warmth that he had been providing fade away, leaving her with a frown that was threatening to show.

"So," Tom started, "on a scale of 1 to 10, how much did Harrison annoy you?"

A smile cracked on the black-haired girl's face and she chuckled. "I'd say a four. Sunny is more annoying than him and that's crazy because Sunny is one of my only friends that rarely annoys me." Amandla said, her statement shocking Tom.

"Four? Really? He's at the very least a 90," he protested, causing her to snort, a small smile gracing her lips. "If he's a four, what am I?"

"You've never annoyed me," Amandla admitted, shrugging lightly as she watched his cheeks fade to light pink.

At hearing her words, Harrison quickly snapped his gaze back to the two. "Clearly you haven't talked to him long enough, Tom's the most annoying person alive," he butted-in, snickering when Tom scowled, crossing his arms.

"No, I'm not," he defended, shaking his head as Jacob chuckled softly.

Harrison scoffed, rolling his eyes lightly. "Yeah, you kind of are."
