"IT WAS LITERALLY DAY ONE AT MY INTERNSHIP, AND UP COMES THIS SLIDE ABOUT THIS COUPLE THAT THEY'VE BEEN CHASING IN THE WOODS IN NORTH CAROLINA." Stiles began to explain as they stood in the vet clinic β a hiding place for the meantime while they figured out what to do next with Gerard after they had explained to Derek and Lucy everything that they had missed in the two years that they had left Beacon Hills.
Eventually the conversation had made a turn into how Derek, Lucy and Stiles had made their way back to Beacon Hills together.
Malia turned to face Derek and Lucy. "I thought you were in South America."
"We were." Derek confirmed, crossing his arms. "The bodies of the werewolves that I told you about? They blamed us..."
"The one time I don't actually do the murdering, I get blamed." Lucy rolled her eyes.
"So I learn that the FBI has corned this feral mass-murdering unsubβ" Stiles began.
"Stop giving me cute nicknames, I have a boyfriend." Lucy interrupted jokingly and Stiles made a face at her while Derek rolled his eyes at their antics, pulling Lucy towards him.
"We found a group of hunters gathering in a meeting place. We were trying to get information." Derek interrupted them before things got too out of hand.
"Yeah, we planned to murder them." Lucy added, her tone filled with excitement.
"Well, the FBI found out about it too and they were planning a SWAT assault to take them down. Dead or alive." Stiles continued to explain. "And, as we all know though, with both of them, it's preferably dead."
"Preferably." Derek scoffed, knowing their history and how everyone wanted them dead rather than alive to make it easier to catch them.
"So I convinced them to take me on the Field Op." Stiles continued.
"You convinced the FBI to bring an intern onto an extremely dangerous field operation?" Lydia asked, shocked that he was able to pull off such a thing.
"I'm surprised he didn't convince them he could lead it." Derek remarked.
"I tried. It didn't work." Stiles responded to him making Lucy snort, that was not surprising in the least. "Anyway, long story short, I basically, you know... had to save their lives."
Everyone in the pack made a face knowing that Derek and Lucy were both immortal and didn't need to be saved as Stiles continued to explain his version of the story of when the SWAT team had busted in on their location.
"That's not how it happened." Derek disagreed.
"Yeah. I may have left out a detail, but that's the gist of what happened." Stiles said, waving his hand around. "It was the essential essence of it."
"Stiles, sweetie, you couldn't walk." Lucy recalled pointedly.
"I was limping." Stiles corrected.
"You couldn't walk, and I know that because you wouldn't leave the building unless both of us were carrying you out." Derek reminded him with crossed arms. He then began to explain the actual truth to the story, making sure to not leave out the detail of Stiles begging to be carried out by the couple.
Stiles made a face of disbelief. "They shot my toe!" He exclaimed. "Do you want to see it?" Derek looked at the pack to see them looking away in shame. "My toe was caught in the crossfire. It was obliterated!"
"Okay, forget your toe." Lydia scoffed, leaving Stiles muttering under his breath about his toe being obliterated.
"Guys, it's not just the hunters. We've got another problem." Scott spoke, getting their attention β the mood no longer light and jokingly.
"It's called the Anuk-ite." Lydia explained.
Β Β Lucifer groaned loudly as she said, "Ah, yes, also known as the supernatural form of a headache."
"It can get into your head. It can make you see things." Scott explained to Stiles and Derek who have no idea what it was.
"What does it look like?" Stiles asked.
"It used to look like two ordinary people. They merged and now it has two faces β one human and one supernatural. It's a shapeshifter like them and it's power is knowing what you're afraid of. What you fear most." Lucy explained, pointing at the pack. She then took a moment. "You guys really have the worst luck; you get the worst of the worst creatures here."
"And now it can also kill you just by looking at you." Malia added and Lucy face palmed herself at how everything had turned to shit ever since they had left.
Stiles' eyebrows furrowed. "Okay, so you're telling me we gotta go up against this thing blind? And face our deepest fear?" He couldn't wrap his head around it.
"You wishing you stayed back at your fancy FBI school now?" Lucy teased.
"Yeah. Why? What do you fear most?" Scott asked his best friend.
"Blindness." Stiles answered.
"Becoming blind?" Derek made a face, thinking his answer was silly and he couldn't even tell if he was joking or not.
"Yeah, terrified of it. Always have been." Stiles responded. "This just seems to be a situation of unfortunate overlap."
"You genuinely have the weirdest phobias, it freaks me out." Lucy said to her friend and he flipped her off.
"Lydia, you and Stiles need to find Argent, get to the Armory, rescue Jackson." Scott said to the strawberry blonde.
"I don't think we have time to wait for him. I've gotten through those doors once, anyway, I can do it again." Lydia nodded.
"Can we slow it down just for one second, make sure I'm grasping this?" Stiles interrupted. "So, we're actually talking about doing this? We're gonna do exactly what Gerard wants us to do? Is that right?"
"From what I can gather, the psychopath needs to think that everything is all going according to plan and that we're falling for his trap before we crush it to pieces." Lucy explained to Stiles who made a face of realisation and pointed at her knowingly. "People always get too cocky and underestimate their opponents during times of war. They always forget a hail mary." She smirked looking back at Derek.
Derek and Lucy, and their entire kingdom were the pack's hail mary.
"I think if we stop the Anuk-ite, we stop it all." Scott explained.
"Stopping this thing can stop Gerard and the hunters?" Derek asked.
"Not all of them are hunters." Scott shook his head.
"He's right. Most of them are ordinary people acting out of fear." Lydia added.
Scott then sighed. "Monroe's not gonna change. But I think we can reach the others. Most of them, actually."
"The Anuk-ite is causing them to come from a place of fear." The banshee added.
"Well, fear's pretty motivating. Especially when it leads to anger." Derek agreed.
"Peter." Stiles and Lucy fake coughed together.
"I think that if we can take out the fear, we can take out the fight in them too." Scott elaborated. "They're afraid of us, but they don't have to be. They just have to change their minds."
"I think you mean we have to change their minds." Lucy corrected, pointing at the group.
Malia nodded before saying, "Okay, we can face the Anuk-ite. We can try to fight it blind. We can try to face our fears. But we still need to know how to catch it."
Scott turned to face his girlfriend, "We'll figure that out too. We always do."
"Oh, it's nice to see that somebody hasn't lost their optimism." Derek remarked.
"Not yet." Scott shook his head. He was hopeful that he never would and that they would preserve and get out of this situation like they had done plenty of times.
"I have." Stiles admitted.
Lydia narrowed her eyes at him before turning to Scott and telling him that they would buy him time and that hopefully Jackson would have an answer on how to catch the Anuk-ite.
Scott then told Malia and Derek that he needed them go with him, and to get Peter also β or just anyone else who could help stop or slow the Anuk-ite down.
"Where we headed?" Malia asked him as she placed her hand over Scott's and Lucy made a face at how weird it was now to see them together along with Stiles and Lydia. It made her realise that she was gone a really long time and had missed so much.
"The high school." Scott answered.
Lucifer groaned loudly again, "That's where we're gonna find this thing?" Derek raised an eyebrow.
"No. It's where it'll find us." Scott responded.

The security guards looked at Jordan who was sat in the freezing cell at Eichen House. "Do you think he'll die?" One of the guards asked.
"Not likely." Lucy answered, causing the guards to look at her as she and Stilinski walked in the area. "It's not that easy to kill a Hellhound. I would know." She smirked as she raised a hand.
After Scott had explained his plan to catch the Anuk-ite, Lucy said she would meet them later after she helped Parrish. As a hellhound, Lucy felt connected and protective of him since Cerberus was within him.
The guards moved from their spot and stood in a line as she walked towards them. "You know that's what he's called, right? I mean, if you're gonna wander into this world, you might as well have all the information." Stilinski suggested.
"I'm starting to think that they just heard the werewolf and went with it. I don't even think Monroe is teaching them about the supernatural." Lucy admitted and looked up and down at the deputies. "They don't look like a very bright bunch to me anyway, they probably wouldn't get it."
One of the guards held up a gun towards her at her insult as she got closer. "Nobody here wants to get hurt." He threatened.
Lucy raised an eyebrow. "That's too bad." She stated feigning fake sadness. "Because if no one wants to get hurt, I suggest you put your gun down." She tapped the gun lightly.
"She's not someone you want to shoot." Stilinski agreed.
"We're not gonna let you take him out of here." The deputy refused.
Lucifer chuckled and turned to look at Stilinski. "You're right, you won't let us take him. You're gonna let him go yourselves." She smirked.
The deputy put his gun down. "You two don't scare us. Stilinski is like sixty and you look sixteen." He shrugged.
Lucy then grinned as her eyes turned black and she sucker punched the guard right in the face and turned to kick the other guard behind her into the wall while Noah began to punch the other remaining guard and knocking him out.
Lucy grabbed the guy's head and slammed it into the wall before elbowing the other in the nose as he crept up behind her. Noah looked at the guards on the ground as he panted out of breath and Lucy handed him a handkerchief to wipe the blood off of his nose.
She walked over to the door that held Parrish and unlocked it, Noah looked at the deputies and said, "The three of you; help Parrish to his feet and get him out of here." He ordered and pointed at Lucy who leaned against the door frame smirking at their defeated looks, "Before she really gets pissed off."
The main deputy looked at her and she flashed her black eyes, causing him to flinch and look back down at his feet, avoiding eye contact with both her and Noah. "Yes, sir." He said and looked up at Stilinski, seeing the look on his face that made him clear his throat awkwardly as he correct himself. "Sheriff."
The deputies went into the cell and helped the freezing hellhound get out and gave him a jacket to warm up for a moment before he no longer needed it. Lucy then explained that she needed to get back to Derek since she didn't like to be apart from him for too long when there's threats against him or anyone associated with the pack.
Noah thanked her for helping and explained that he would try and disarm anyone with a weapon who was working with Gerard with the help of Scott's dad and that he would keep her updated.
Derek walked the hallways of the school, after he had helped Scott get rid of the wolfsbane in his system, he heard the Anuk-ite and tried to find where it was before it got to them.
"Derek?" He heard Lucy call out, making his eyes turn to normal. "Derek, is that you?" His eyes snapped up to the end of the hallway seeing her shadow come closer to his eye view before he quickly turned away, Lucy would never speak that way. "Derek, it's me. It's Lucy."
Derek closed his eyes and his claws came out as he turned back around. "It's not you, you're not here."
"Don't you wanna look at me?" Lucy asked and began to walk towards him, the sounds of her heels clicking against the floor made him clench his fists together and growl out. "Are you ashamed of me and what I am? I thought you loved me."
"You're not real." Derek shook his head and began to walk backwards and away from her, his eyes continuing to stay closed.
"Don't I sound real? I thought you of all people would know what my voice sounds like." Lucy lightly argued, he could hear her smirking as she said it. "Can't you look at me?" Derek tried to swipe at her but missed, he was in no way convinced that it was her and that whoever it was, was really good at imitating her voice but not her mannerisms. "Derek, look at me." She argued.
Derek tried to hit her again but she had caught it, "Please, baby?" Lucy begged. "We've been through so much together, you can't tell me you're having second thoughts about us now. Open your eyes, Derek, remember what you'll be missing out on if you left me."
Lucy had his hand and began to bring it closer to her face so he could feel it was her, his touch recognising her body instantly. "Please look at me." Lucy begged as she continued to drag his hand down her body as he panted. Derek was almost convinced but he snatched his hand away from her with a grunt. "Look at me!" She snapped.
Derek slowly opened his eyes, but instead of seeing his soulmate in front of him, he saw the Anuk-ite causing him to gasp. Before he could do anything else, he was turned to stone.
The real Lucy appeared in the hallway of Beacon Hills High School, her body instantly gravitating towards Derek's and his whereabouts, she began to walk quickly towards him, walking passed the stone that was Peter, not caring about the noise she made as she tried to her closer towards Derek β hoping he would be okay.
She walked around the corner and froze as she saw him as a statue, instantly appearing closer and in front of him, her eyes widened as she gently touched his face and cursed. The Anuk-ite was stronger than they thought if it was able to take down Derek, however she was relaxed as she could still hear the sound of his heartbeat through the stone. She had wondered what had tricked him into opening his eyes.
Lucy could only hope that wherever Scott and Stiles were, that they were close to finishing the Anuk-ite off and that this would all be over soon before she ruined all of their plans and killed it herself.
She heard the sound of footsteps and she quickly vanished to hide around the corner as she saw two guards walking over towards Derek's statue, bringing the radio to his mouth, "We got another one here." He informed as he began to inspect the statue. "I don't know if he's dead. But he definitely looks vulnerable."
His comment made Lucy let out a growl, loud enough to make the guards look around for the source of the sound.
Her ears listened in to his conversation with Monroe and how she wanted them to shoot Derek. "One on the head and one in the heart." She ordered.
"Copy." The guard said and they both held up their guns towards Derek's statue.
"I wouldn't do that if you know what's good for you." Lucy taunted as she stepped in front of Derek, blocking him from their line of sight. Both of them held their guns towards her as her eyes turned black. "Shall we play?"
Lucy let out a growl and the guard shot at her, letting her smirk as just as she was about to fight them, she heard a large screeching sound come from the library β one that made her smirk wider as she realised that both Scott and Stiles had managed to take it down.
The guards eyes widened as a cracking sound was made and the stone that was Derek's statue broke and let Derek free with a loud gasp.
Lucy used their distraction as an opportunity as she grabbed their guns and head butted the one in front of her, causing him to go stumbling back as he held onto his nose while Derek took care of the other guard.
With one final punch, Lucy knocked out the guard and turned to Derek who had finished taking care of the other and said, "I love you in all forms, but you as a statue just doesn't cut it for me." She panted.
Derek smiled and walked over to her and pressed a kiss to her lips. "I love you too." He responded and the girl began to try and brush off the dust that was on him as they heard a loud roaring sound come from another one of the hallways. "Looks like Peter is free too."
"Monroe ordered them to kill you." Lucy ran a hand through her hair as she tried to control her anger. She had already lost Derek once and the thought of losing him again angered her to no end. "I'm tempted to track her down and kill her myself right now. I can hear her still in the school."
Derek used his hearing and he could also hear Monroe calling for someone to respond to her. "Someone respond. Someone talk to me." She snapped. "What's happening?" Monroe questioned. "Pick up the radio and tell me what's happening!"
Lucy turned her head and picked up the radio. "You lost." She heard Liam's voice call out.
Lucy grit. "You better run, because I'm coming for you." The line went silent as Monroe through her radio and ran out of the school.
Derek pulled her along, saying how they have the rest of their lives to chase after Monroe for what she was going to do to him, but they needed to check on the pack in the library.
"Scott? What happened to your eyes?" Malia asked as she ran into the library and went over to her boyfriend who had dried up blood coming from his eyes.
"I had to. I'm sorry." Scott said.
"You need to heal, Scott." Derek told him. "If your eyes stay like this much longer, the damage is gonna be permanent."
Scott didn't say anything. "Come on, Scott. Concentrate." Stiles told him, his voice filled with worry that his best friend might be blind for the rest of his life.
"I'm trying." Scott grunted, throwing his head back. He wasn't sure who he was looking at exactly but he could feel Malia close to him. "It's not working. I can't focus."
"Hey, hey, look at me!" Malia snapped and grabbed her boyfriend's face in her hands. "Yes, you can. Just concentrate."
"I can't. I can't, I can't do it." Scott weeped.
"Yes, you can." Malia nodded. "Scott, please just look at me." She whimpered, the tears in her eyes beginning to swell. Lucy looked worried, as did the rest of the pack.
Lydia and Stiles grabbed onto each other's hands as Lydia suddenly got an idea from a memory between her and Stiles. "Malia." The banshee grabbed her attention. "Kiss him."
"What?" Malia didn't understand how kissing Scott would help in anyway.
"Kiss him." Lydia persisted.
Malia turned back to Scott and it took a moment before she leaned in and gently pressed her lips to Scott's, the boy quickly responding to the kiss.
Malia pulled away from her boyfriend after a moment and Scott opened his eyes, the pack watching in relief as they watched his eyes heal to the point of them returning to normal.
Malia and Scott then shared another kiss while the pack hugged onto each other, sighing in relief and happiness that everyone was okay and they were going to be okay for a very, very long time.
