"SO, ABOUT THAT COFFEE DATE..." Lucifer trailed, whistling as she walked into Derek's loft. "I was thinking something cute and cozy, maybe a place with a few fairy lights."

Derek's eyebrows raised as he leaned further into his sofa. "You're really into this coffee date idea, aren't you?" He asked, chuckling at her and her keen attitude for a date that they hadn't even set in stone.

She smiled back and moved to sit onto his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Of course, all good romances start with a coffee date or something..." She made a face, she wasn't too good when it came to dating, in fact she wasn't much of a dater at all. She was too used to just sleeping around and getting what she wanted until she was bored.

But she could feel Derek was different and he was much more than just a play thing until she was bored. Hell, she could even potentially feel something for him.

"Or something.." He chuckled again, instinctively pulling her closer to him. "You really do have a way with your words."

"Hey, I'm learning." She whined. "But... I definitely do like the sound of a nice chai latte while being surrounded by fairy lights and cozy pillows and having the smell of chocolate and coffee in the air while you wear glasses or a beanie. That'd be cute." She smirked at him, giving him the indication that she was completely joking and was exaggerating it all.

Derek through his head back and laughed. "Lucy, you and I both know that you would much rather a can of coke more than anything else and I'm never going to be caught dead wearing glasses or a beanie."

Lucy pouted. "A girl can only dream." She said. "But a coke right now before this coffee date of ours does sound very tempting."

Derek sighed and moved Lucy off of him before walking over to the kitchen area and pulling a can of coke out of the fridge and walking back to her, handing the small red can to her, feeling slightly accomplished when he noticed her impressed face. "I figured I'd stock up on them since you're here so often."

"You're the best." She grinned and cracked it open. "I say once I'm halfway finished this, we leave to go to that cute cafe downtown."

"As her majesty wishes." Derek smiles back at her and sits next to her, resting his arm on the back of the couch.

The two sat in a comfortable silence, Derek thinking about how he could get used to this; just a casual day at the loft, discussing a dinner date or a lunch date, or just anything they could do during the day together with no worries about the outside world or anyone trying to kill them.

He wanted to ignore the obvious parts of her being the actual devil with a kingdom in Hell she had to run and him being an ex-alpha werewolf, and the fact that there was an evil fox spirit possessing her best friend.

Lucy's phone then rang, she pardoned herself and answered the call and placed it on loudspeaker, she had nothing to hide from Derek at all.

"Could you possibly come to the school?" Scott asked her. "There's something you should know."

Lucy bit back a growl, knowing that Scott wouldn't ask her to do anything unless it was important and now she would have to postpone the already postponed date she was looking forward to having with Derek. "If I have to." She grumbled, mouthing a 'sorry' to the werewolf next to her. She then got a small idea. "Can Derek come? I don't exactly want to leave him alone right now."

"Uhh, sure." Lucy could practically see the surprised look on Scott's face through his voice but ignored it as she hung up and immediately bounced off of the couch and held her hand out for Derek to take.

"It might not be a coffee date but it's still a date." She joked and Derek rolled his eyes at her, getting up and walking out with her to go towards the school.

On the way, Lucy begged Derek to let her drive his car but there was no way he was letting her when she hadn't been on Earth for a long time and probably didn't know how to drive since she just disappeared and reappeared wherever she wanted to go.

Derek and Lucy walked into the classroom where they had smelt the scents of who they were looking for and entered just as Scott was questioning Kira's parents if Stiles had tried to harm Kira's dad. "Stiles did this?" Scott asked.

"Whatever 'this' is, the nogitsune did it, not Stiles." Lucy said as she strolled in, taking a seat on one of the desks, while Derek sat on one of the chairs next to her.

"He was after the last kaiken." Noshiko Yukimara, Kira's mother informed them, reaching into her coat pocket and pulling out a mini sword that represented her fox tail. "I've kept this near me ever since your friend disappeared."

Lucy then realised what was going on. "So, you're the one who sent the oni." She assumed.

"Mom, you need to talk to us, about everything." Kira said to her mother sternly as Scott pulls out an old photo and hands it to Noshiko.

"Where did you get this?" Noshiko questioned the two kids.

"Is it grandma?" Kira asked back.

"No." She answered her daughter. "It's me."

This caught Lucy's attention as she got up and snatched the photo out of her hand and looked at the photo, seeing Noshiko in her early days when she looked exactly like Kira, she then turned it over to see the date that was written on the back and her eyebrows rose again at the date.

"If that's you, then you'd have to be like ninety years old." Scott pointed out, seeing how she didn't look a day over forty.

"Try closer to nine hundred." Noshiko said.

"Nice, another old gal." Lucy commented, she made a face when she realised they were looking at her. "What? Can't I be happy that I'm not the only old person in here that looks fabulous for my age?"

"You do look good for your age." Kira commented.

"Thank you." Lucy smiled, beginning to like her a bit more. She then turned to Derek. "She thinks I look good." She smirked.

"We really shouldn't have the discussion of whether I think you look good in the middle of a conversation like this." Derek pointed out.

Lucy frowned at him not willing to play and then turned to Kira's father. "If she's nine hundred, how old are you?" She asked him.

"Forty-three." He answered her. "But I've been told I look mid-thirties."

"Yeah, you do." She winked and then laughed at herself. Derek bit back a growl at her flirting with Kira's father, but she knew it wasn't real flirting and it was simply just her trying to make light of a situation like this.

Kira then handed Noshiko a katana and she hovered it over the desk before ripping the cover off of it, and tipping the handle over, having the broken pieces of the blade fall out onto the table. "The blade was shattered the time it was used."

     "When was that?" Kira asked.

"1943." Noshiko answered sombrely. "Against a nogitsune."

"All this has happened before, hasn't it?" Derek asked them, putting a few pieces together from when he was observing the conversation from the side.

Lucy noticed the looks both Kira's parents gave each other and she smirked. "I think you're onto something, babe." She said to Derek and got up off of the desk and walked over towards Noshiko and Ken, leaving Derek to embrace the warm tingly feeling he got when she called him the pet name. "What aren't you two telling us?"

"Where did it come from, mom?" Kira interrogated.

"It was an internment camp during World War II. In Oak Creek. Not too far from here." Noshiko began to answer.

Scott then pointed out to Kira's father that he had told Isaac and Allison that Oak Creek was fake. "Allison's family has a certain history of violence. I didn't know if she could be trusted." He defended his decision, he wanted to protect his wife and daughter in case the Argent's new code was a sham. "There was a camp, yes. But all the records were erased."

"They covered it up." Noshiko said shakily, but sternly. To this day, she was still furious about what had happened in her past.

Ken reached into his desk drawers. "When I was a grad student, my passion project — actually, more like an obsession — was trying to dig up the truth on Oak Creek." He said pulling out an old book filled with pictures and journal entries. "It's how I met your mother, Kira."

Kira picked up an old photo of a man suffering from major burns covering his entire body covered in bandages. She looked up at her mother. "So, where did the nogitsune come from?"

"Isn't it obvious yet?" Noshiko asked. "It came from her." She said and then pointed at Lucy who was back to sitting on the desk next to Derek. "And it came from me."

Complete realisation hit Lucy as all the pieces finally came together in her mind as she could finally remember the time that her and her brothers were about to put down the nogitsune once and for all before he suddenly disappeared and slipped through their fingers because someone had summoned him. She received a lot of consequences because of it and she could never forget those days even if they were nearly a hundred years ago.

She had vowed to herself that if she ever found out who caused it she would descend upon them, she didn't care who it was, she just knew they would deserve everything that came to them by her — and that was exactly what she was going to do.

Lucy got up and lunged at Noshiko, Derek quickly taking action and jumping up to grab her and hold her back from attacking the fox as she growled and snapped at her while trying to swipe her with her talons. "You did this!" She roared at her. "You ruined every chance of killing him for your own selfish gain! I had him and you made me lose him!"

"Lucy, calm down!" Derek yelled as he struggled to hold her back as everyone in the room watched in shock as the girl in front of them turned into the devil.

"If you cared about me you'll let me claw her eyes out for what she's done!" Lucifer said struggling against Derek's hold to try and get to her. She wasn't using her full strength against him as she was scared that she would accidentally hurt him if she had.

"Lucy, she doesn't know!" Derek reminded her. Noshiko probably didn't know about what was happening behind the scenes with the angels and demons working together to put down what was known as the nogitsune. She had no idea that it would cause such a catastrophe when she summoned it. "She doesn't know."

Lucy began to calm down slightly at his words, also getting a small reminder in her head about how she was acting exactly like all of Derek's past girlfriends and how she was not trying to be like them — even if she was the worst of the worst. Derek meant more to her at that moment than getting some aged revenge.

Noshiko took a moment, her heart still racing from what she had just saw and then began to tell them the story of when she was a teenager and how she and many other Japanese people were taken in to the camp and were treated like prisoners, but how she would always use her sneakiness to take supplies from the army's trucks and give them to the other prisoners to use and eat.

She then began to rearrange the pieces of the blade in order on the desk so it could be put back together, she looked at her daughter and told her she would need her help to fix it but Kira refused to help until they knew everything. Ken then told his wife that she needed to tell them.

Noshiko sighed at her daughter and husband and how they were ganging up on her to force her to confess everything she knew. She then gave in and continued to explain the story from where she left off and didn't leave out any parts about how she was seeing the medic in secret.

Kira interrupted the sorry angrily. "We don't want to hear your Casablanca story. We want to know how to save Stiles."

"I'm trying to tell you." Noshiko insisted.

"You're trying to stall." Derek corrected, feeling angry for Lucy, he wanted to help her get her best friend back and hopefully win a few brownie points for it with her. "When the sun goes down the oni are going to go after him."

"Your friend is gone." Ken said.

Before Scott could protest, Lucy had finally had enough with everything; with the stalling, the beating around the bush and the pessimism coming from the Yukimura's. She growled loudly, unable to control the small shift in her eyes as she slammed her hands on the table causing everyone in the room to flinch besides Derek surprisingly. "I'm not sure what it is that you're not comprehending but Stiles is coming out of this alive. I don't care what it is I have to do; I will personally reach down that fox's fucking throat and rip Stiles out by his leg if I have to."

Derek stood up from his spot and walked over to here, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We need to stay calm right now." He reminded her softly in her ear and she began to pull back from the Yukimura's and towards the werewolf behind her.

She returned her attention back to Noshiko, her eyes so dark with fury still she wasn't even sure if they were her shifted eyes. "You control the oni. You brought them, that means you can call them off. So, do it."

"Stiles may be your best friend and he may be like a brother to you, but he is nogitsune now. He is void." Noshiko argued with her. "You of all people should know what that means."

"Then you of all people should know that I'm not playing around when it comes to the nogitsune. I created him and that means I will find a way to destroy him without hurting Stiles." She said to Noshiko again, refusing to back down. She may of gotten out of being physically hurt thanks to Derek, but there was no way she was going to back down in this argument. "Now, call them off."

"When they hear the rest of the story, they won't want me to." Kira's mother insisted, nodding her head at Scott and Kira.

She then began to continue the story again about how she and Rhys would find ways to see each other often to rendezvous, and one time they had caught two of Rhys' comrades meeting in secret with the camp's doctor.

She then remembered how everyone in the camp to come down with pneumonia and there wasn't enough supplies to bring everyone back to health. Noshiko told Rhys that there should have been plenty since she saw many boxes but Rhys told her that they only had one.

It took them not long to realise that Rhys' comrades — Merrick and Hayes — to sell medicine on the black market.

She regretted telling the rest of her camp mates about the realisation when they turned to violence to get the army to listen and how it went horribly wrong when a riot broke out, it was unstoppable since so many people were sick and dying that they no longer cared if they lived or died after this since they were dying anyway.

Noshiko then recalled about how Satomi was the one who threw the flaming bottle to the car that ended up burning Rhys since she was a bitten werewolf, she had a harder time suppressing her anger and she couldn't control a flare after Merrick hit her.

The army then shot at the mob as a way to suppress them and it ended up hurting Noshiko. "The gunfire nearly killed me. I don't know how many bullets made their way into my body, but I fought every single one of them. It left my body so weak, my heartbeat so slow it appeared as though I was dead. But even then, I was still better off than Rhys. His screams could be heard throughout Eichen House, echoing through every room, every hallway. He died in agony. The doctor, it seems, had also sold the morphine."

Lucy looked back at the photo of the man who was burnt to a crisp realising that the man was Rhys. She looked back at Noshiko. "I don't particularly like you right now, but I hope it eases your mind to know that the doctor and those soldiers in your story are down where he should be, paying the consequences for what they've done."

Noshiko looked at her and nodded her head in gratitude before finishing her story. "Merrick and Hayes were given the task of getting rid of all the bodies, both American and Japanese-American. They were transferring Dr. Liston our as well, stationing him somewhere else. They were covering it up. The doctor, Merrick, Hayes, and all of the others. They were going to get away with murder."

Derek reached out and held onto Lucy's hand as his mind went to if they were in Noshiko and Rhys' position and if she was taken away from him and how he would feel and what he would do about it — he knew that she could never die but if she was ever taken away from him, he'd be shattered, now knowing what he knew about his relationship to her.

"By chance, I guess, Rhys' body had been put next to mine. I wanted the soldiers and the administration of the camp to be punished for their crime. I didn't know of if there was a God or a Heaven and Hell, but I sure knew that even if there was or wasn't, I was going to make them pay on my own terms, but I knew the clock was ticking fast. I was going to lose my chance. They were going to burn me with the others." Noshiko's tone was filled with pain and anguish as she recalled the most horrible memories from her past.

"I couldn't fight back with my body weakened and still healing. I could barely move. I was going to die. With time slipping through my fingers, I knew I was making a terrible decision. But I could not die knowing they would get away. So I called out to our ancestors for kitsune-tsuki. Possession by a fox spirit. For a powerful nogitsue, one that feeds off of chaos, strife and pain, to take control of my weakened body, imbue it with power and use it as a weapon."

Lucy's hand tightened as she listened to Noshiko's half of the story, remembering what was happening on the other side as her and her brothers and sisters fought side by side to take down the monster she had created a thousand years ago and how many of the angels didn't make it.

"Calling on a trickster spirit is a dangerous thing. They can have a very dark sense of humour." Noshiko smiled bitterly. "Knowing who it was created by, you can tell why."

Lucy could only huff at her comment, she deserved that one.

"Because while the nogitsune did come to possess someone, it wasn't me. My body was beginning to heal and I managed to pull myself up from the ground. But it was too late." Noshiko finished.

"He does like to act quick, I made sure he was fast and vicious because I didn't want anything to slow him down in his path for destruction in my plan of revenge." Lucy chuckled at herself. She really hated how this was all biting her in the ass now.

"What did it do?" Scott asked.

"It brought chaos, strife and more pain than you can ever imagine. By the time I got back to the camp, everyone was dead. I had to find him and I had to stop him." The fox continued the story and quickly reminded Kira that night was coming and they had to fix the katana soon. "I found him in the tunnels and he was strong and powerful, but with the help of Satomi, we were able to get rid of him. When he died, a fly blew out of his mouth symbolising the nogitsune as he whispered his last words to me."

     "What were they?" Derek asked.

"Coup de foudre." Noshiko answered. "The literal translation is 'a bolt of lightning'. In French, it can also mean 'love at first sight'." She translated and Derek and Lucy looked at each other sneakily. "But a bolt of lightening happens to be exactly what we need right now."

     "For what?" Kira asked.

"Exercising the nogitsune from Rhys' body shattered the katana. But you can put it back together." Noshiko explained.

"Why don't you just do it yourself?" Kira asked again.

"Because she isn't a thunder kitsune." Lucy rolled her eyes, answering her question.

Noshiko grabbed her daughter's hand gently and held it over the katana and everyone watched in anticipation as the saw the small bolts of lightening hit the katana, making it glue together.

The phenomenon was cut short for Lucy when she received a text, she looked down at her phone and read it, showing it to Derek.

NOAH: Meet me in Stiles' room. The nogitsune left a message for us.

The two instantly went to the Stilinski's home, leaving the Yukimura's to deal with their newfound family problems as Lucy struggled with hers.

She barged into the room as Noah, Chris Argent and Allison stood around a chest board. "What is all of this?" Lucy asked as Derek followed behind her.

"And what are these sticky notes for?" Chris asked, as he too only came a few mere minutes before Lucifer and Derek.

"This is what Stiles used to try and explain to me about all of you." Noah answered, he looked up at Lucy. "Sorry about that day, by the way. I thought he was insulting you by calling you the devil."

Lucy shrugged. "No need for an apology, I would've thought he was a bit crazy too if he said that to me."

"Maybe this is a message from Stiles." Allison thought out loud. "The real Stiles."

Chris looked at the board and picked up the piece that was knocked off to the side seeing that the name tag on it read 'Isaac', indicating he was taken out of the game.

"Does anyone think there's a reason as to why my name is on the queen and Derek is on the king?" Lucy asked, pointing at the chess pieces. Not that she wouldn't mind Derek being the king to her queen self, but she could see that the king was one move away from checkmate and she knows the queen is always sacrificed to the save the king.

Derek and Chris looked at each other, remembering the conversation they had when they were in the cells about him and Lucy being soulmates. Derek shook his head, telling the hunter that he hadn't told Lucy about their true relationship.

"Maybe it's literal translation." Chris suggested, smirking to himself, catching the attention of his daughter and Derek, who glared at him for his comment and almost exposing him.

"Well, Derek is heavily guarded." Noah began to try and answer her question, pointing to the several pieces surrounding him.

"And also one move away from being in checkmate." Lucy growled out. "This isn't a message, it's a threat, and I don't do well with threats." She began to pace around the room angrily. "Especially not towards you." She let out and scoffed at herself for letting that slip.

"I agree. This can't be Stiles." Chris said.

"He's at the loft. That's what he's trying to tell us." Allison realised. "And he wants us to meet him there."

"Night's falling." Derek pointed out to Lucy, a message reminding her that they don't know if Noshiko has officially called off the oni or not.

"This couldn't sound any more like a trap." Chris argued.

"Trap or not, I'm going to the loft and I'm going to get my best friend out of the grips of a deranged fox spirit." Lucy spat. "The nogitsune knows I can't die and he doesn't want me to, he just wants my energy and the pain and chaos that I've been holding on to for thousands and thousands of years. I'll even the playing field." Noah sighed and rubbed his head, Lucy realised he had something to say. "But it looks like you already have a plan, so what is it, sheriff?"

Noah could only look down at the chess board and hold in a breath, knowing his plan was crazy and it might not work with how unpredictable the nogitsune was.
