Sometimes Lucy regrets accepting Stiles' pleas for help. Not so much when they're actually fun or slightly morbid, but when it comes to situations like these, she isn't sure what to make of it. She basically regrets stepping into Scott's workplace because it usually means that something strange is about to happen. She wishes it was just a veterinary clinic.
Her eyebrow raised, "What do you need me to do again?" She asked, having not comprehended it the first time because it sounded so ridiculous. Even seeing Stiles, Scott and Allison standing next to iced bathtubs didn't help.
"Each of you will hold them down until they're essentially dead. But it's not just someone to hold you under. It needs to be someone who can pull you back—someone that has a strong connection to you; a kind of emotional tether." Deaton began to explain, causing Lucy to sigh in realisation as to what was happening.
"Oh." She mumbled before walking over towards Stiles and placing her hands on to his shoulders, as Isaac walked over to Scott and Lydia walked over to Allison. Lucy bent down to Stiles ear and whispered. "Are you sure you wanna do this?" She asked, only receiving a shaky nod. They each began to sit in the iced water, letting out gasps at how cold the water was, it wasn't helping Lucy's nerves whatsoever. "Just say the word and I'll stop this all together."
"I have to find my dad." Stiles said shivering heavily as he dunked himself to his neck in the water. He then looked at Scott. "By the way, if I don't make it back and you do, you should probably know something. Your dad's in town."
Scott's eyes widened as he looked away from Stiles. The three of them preparing for what was about to happen. Lucy took off her jacket before placing her hands on Stiles' shoulders and pushing him into the water at the same time as Isaac and Lydia.
The three watched over them nervously. Lucy never left their side, letting out mumbles how she didn't like this plan one bit and with every passing hour if Stiles didn't wake up she would drag him out of the water herself and find some other way to find the parents. Deaton tried to convince her that they had to wake up themselves otherwise it would kill them.
It took an entire day before the three of them woke up gasping from the water. "I saw it. I know where it is." Scott told them breathlessly as he got out of the tub. The three of them spoke about how they had passed the nemeton the night that Scott was bitten by Peter years ago. "We can find it." Scott noticed the uneasy looks on their friend's faces. "What?"
"You guys were out for a long time." Isaac said nervously.
"How long is a long time?" Stiles asked.
"Sixteen hours." Deaton answered.
"We've been in the water for sixteen hours?" Scott gaped.
"And the full moon rises in less than four." Lucifer informed them while looking at her watch.
Scott then began to dry saying that he needed to get back to Deucalion so that he could help him with their Jennifer situation. "No, Scott, you're not going back to them." Stiles refused.
"I made a deal with Deucalion." Scott reminded his friend.
"Does anyone else think that sounds a lot like a deal with the devil?" Stiles questioned, ignoring the small 'hey' coming from Lucy.
"Why does it matter anyway?" Isaac asked him.
"Because I still don't think that we can beat Jennifer without their help." Scott answered.
Stiles threw his hands up. "Well, I do. We have the literal devil on our side. I'm sure she would be more than happy to rip Jennifer apart before she could even blink. We don't need Deucalion." He said pointing at Lucy who blew him a kiss. She loved it when people talked highly of her like that.
Allison looked at Deaton. "He trusts your opinion more than anyone else's, tell him he's wrong."
The druid shook his head. "I'm not so sure he is. Circumstances like this sometimes require that you align yourself with people you'd normally consider enemies."
Stiles pointed at Lucy once more. "And again, I'd like to remind you that we are standing in the presence of the literal devil."
"So we're gonna trust him? The guy that calls himself death, destroyer of worlds?" Isaac questioned. "We're gonna trust that guy?"
"Don't forget he calls himself a demon wolf." Lucy chuckled. "Which doesn't exist, by the way."
"I wouldn't trust him, no, but you could use him to your advantage." Deaton suggested. "Deucalion may be the enemy, but he could also be the bait." The group looked at each other with wide eyes as they began to come up with a plan.
There was a clatter coming from the front door indicating someone was entering the clinic, Deaton walked over towards it to see Ethan standing there. "I'm looking for Lydia." He stated.
The strawberry blonde came out slowly. "What do you want?" She asked.
"I need your help." He answered, the rest of the group coming towards the doorway.
"With what?" Stiles asked.
"Stopping my brother and Kali from killing Derek." Ethan answered and Lucy's eyes widened.
"You did this for me?" Lucy watched from the shadows as Derek asked, looking around at a dead Kali and the nearly dead twins on the floor in his loft. Lydia looked terrified and was being comforted by Cora. The two of them had been halfway out of the town when they heard the loud ear bursting scream come from Lydia, they knew they had to turn back.
"For us." Jennifer corrected. "For anyone who's ever been their victim."
"Stop talking to me like a politician." Derek began to grow angry at her and her tone. "Stop trying to convince me of your cause!"
"Fine, I'll convince you of someone else's. Scott. You can save his mother, Stiles' father—"
"How?" He interrupted her.
"I need a guardian. That's a role that can either be filled by the three parents I was forced to take or by you." She began to walk towards the reformed beta.
"I can't help you. I'm not even an alpha anymore." He said to her, causing Lucy's eyebrows to raise at the information. Derek wasn't an alpha anymore?
"All I need is for you to help me get Deucalion in the right place at the right time." Jennifer said.
"You just killed three of them on your own. What do you need me for?" He shrugged at her.
"You haven't seen him at his strongest—I have. If he's got Scott with him, I don't stand a chance unless I have you." Jennifer told him, she then smirked sensing the other person in the room. "And you two, Lucifer."
Lucy huffed and stepped out from the shadows. "And what makes you think I'll help you with anything? After everything you've done?" She asked darkly. "You should be well aware I don't do things out of the kindness of my heart."
Jennifer scowled, she was so mad when she thought that summing Lucifer didn't work that she had to continue the sacrificial rituals to gain the exact amount of power she would have if she had Lucifer on her side. She was frustrated even more to find out that it did work, but they weren't on the same side. Either way, the ritual drew power from her.
"Because I know you care for Stiles in that cold dark heart of yours, and you know he would be crushed to find out that you had the chance to save his dad but you didn't do a single thing about it." Jennifer smirked, causing Lucy to growl.
"Don't trust her." Cora yelled out to them.
"I have the eclipse in my favour, but the moon's only gonna be in the Earth's umbral shadow for fifteen minutes. That's the extent of my window. There's no decision to struggle with. Help me kill him, and the others live." She begged. "Just help me."
Lucy held back a snarl, she couldn't believe she was joining forces with Jennifer but she had to do it to save Stiles' dad. "Done." She simply said.
They ended up in an old distillery, they met with Deucalion and Scott who had been waiting for them there. Scott's eyes widened when he saw Lucy and Derek beside Jennifer. "What are you doing?" He asked them softly.
"This might be hard to believe, but we're actually trying to help you." Derek said firmly.
"Oh, a nice family squabble this is. How very American of you." Deucalion commented as he began to fold up his cane and take off his jacket. "Are you ready, Jennifer? Did you gather your herbs, pray to your ancient Gods and your oak trees, slit a baby's throat, perhaps?" He taunted her, Lucy biting her lip to hold back a laugh, Derek nudging her slightly to hold it together, she tried to ignore the warm feeling she got when he touched her and focus back on the scene in front of them. "Should we show them why you needed to sacrifice nine innocent people just to face me? Or is it twelve now?" He asked, his face transforming to his werewolf appearance.
Lucy's eyes widened at the sight. "That's a demon wolf." She admitted, now she understood why he referred to himself as such. He definitely looked like a demon wolf—he was ugly that way. Lucifer went over towards Scott and placed a firm hand on his shoulder, holding him in place, she knew he would try to stop what was about to happen and she didn't want anything to happen to him. "Don't get involved. It'll only get you killed."
Jennifer began to look terrified as Deucalion growled and ran at them. Derek shifted and went in swinging, but Deucalion caught his wrists almost instantly, Derek's strength being much more insignificant now that he was just a beta, the demon wolf chuckled at how weak Derek was. Jennifer walked over to them and tried to hit Deucalion with a surge of power, but it seemed to do nothing.
Deucalion looked at her before grabbing both Derek and her by the throat, throwing them both to the ground gasping for air. Deucalion walked over to Jennifer, grabbing her by the hair as he looked at Scott. "Kill her. Do it." He ordered.
"Don't do it, Scott, you know what's at stake." Lucy warned, referring to his true alpha title. She looked at Deucalion. "You want her dead? Consider it done, I'll do it myself." She said with a dark look in her eyes.
Deucalion then roared, sending Scott to his knees and causing him to shift from the power. "Now, kill her, Scott." He ordered Scott once more, ignoring Lucy's offer. "Your parents are dying. That storm you hear, she's burying them alive. It's her connection to the telluric currents. Kill her, and it ends."
"It won't end. Not with me. He'll have you kill everyone you love. It's what he does." Jennifer argued.
"They're dying, Scott." Deucalion continued. "Your mother and the parents of your best friends. Kill her now, and it's over. Become the alpha you're meant to be. Become a killer."
"They're not dead yet." Scott reminded him.
"And who's going to save them, your friends?" The demon wolf chuckled.
Scott stood up. "My pack." He corrected. Deucalion roared and ran at Scott, grabbing him by the wrists and began to walk him towards Jennifer who was lying on the ground.
"Maybe you just need a little guidance." Deucalion said and Lucy growled at him. She knew what he was doing and how he was trying to ruin Scott's chances of becoming a true alpha because he was threatened by his potential. She ran at him and ripped him away from Scott.
"Maybe you need to be reminded on who the fuck you're dealing with." She roared as Deucalion charged at her to attack her. The two began to fight, leaving Scott to remember something that Gerard Argent had told him about Deucalion, something that would help them against him. Deucalion isn't always blind.
He pulled out the small weapons from his pocket, throwing them to the ground, they lit up instantly, causing the werewolves to try to cover their eyes. When they regained their eye sight, the werewolves had turned human and the light was an orange sort of colour indicating that the eclipse had started. "Oh no." Scott muttered as he noticed that Jennifer was missing.
They looked towards the doors to the distillery to see Jennifer walking towards them, her darach face on for show. She charged at Scott, sending him into the empty kegs. Lucy roared and ran at her trying to tackle her, but she was fairly strong considering all of the sacrifices she had committed that she managed to thwart her away near where Derek was hiding.
She landed to the ground, winded, she looked up at Derek. "You have really good taste in women." She said sarcastically while he helped her sit up, once again trying to ignore the warm feeling she got whenever they touched.
Jennifer then ran at Deucalion and threw him to the ground before meshing his head onto the concrete ground. "Jennifer!" Derek stood up, trying to stop her from completely killing him. "He doesn't know."
"Know what?" She spat.
"What you really look like." He answered, taking small cautious steps towards them. "He knows the cost of bringing Kali into his pack, but he's never seen the price you paid." Lucy's eyebrow raised as she was beginning to catch on to what he was trying to do.
"No. No, he hasn't." Jennifer bent down and placed a hand over his eyes, he began to scream as she healed his eyesight. Once she removed her hand, Deucalion looked around, blinking. "Turn to me." She ordered. "Turn to me!" She roared when he didn't move.
Deucalion began to hyperventilate as he looked over at Jennifer. She returned to her human face and went to deliver the final blow when she began to feel weak and she fell back, Derek catching her before she fell to the ground. "What is this?"
"Healing him made you weak, just like healing Cora did to me. You won't have your strength for at least a few minutes." He informed her.
"Then you do it. Kill him." She pleaded in his arms, and Lucy held back the urge to gag at the love filled look Jennifer was giving him.
"No." Derek smiled.
"What?" Jennifer gasped.
"Like my mother used to say, I'm a predator. I don't have to be a killer." He said and grabbed onto her neck. "Let them go." He ordered.
Jennifer grew angry at how he played her and threw him against the wooden crates, hitting him again and again. Lucy stood up being the only one to be able to fight back with her strength. The two threw punches and slaps, kicking each other and shoving each other into the walls. Jennifer kept sending surges of power towards Lucy but she only smirked in response knowing it wasn't doing anything but aggravating her and weakening the dark druid along with wasting the time she had to kill Deucalion.
With one last final blow, Lucy headbutted Jennifer away from her and grabbed her by the throat. "Your fifteen minutes are up." She stated and threw her to the ground to finish her off.
Jennifer stood up immediately and threw a circle of mountain ash around her. "Like I told you, either you or the parents. I guess I'll just have to take them now. In a few minutes, they'll be dead, and I won't need a lunar eclipse, even to kill the devil." Lucy scoffed at her and watched curiously as Scott placed his hands against the barrier of the mountain ash. "You've tried this before, Scott. I don't remember you having much success." She taunted.
Scott didn't listen as he pushed harder against the barrier, staring directly into Jennifer's eyes, his own glowing amber yellow. He roared out as he began to push further into the barrier, everyone staring in wonder as his eyes turned red and the barrier of mountain ash broke, Jennifer falling to the ground from the power.
She sat up. "How did you do that?"
"I'm an alpha now." He responded. "Whatever you're doing to cause the storm, make it stop, or I'll kill you myself. I don't care what it does to the colour of my eyes."
"It won't change the colour of mine, so allow me." Lucy said from behind them, slashing Jennifer's throat. Lucy smiled somewhat as she watched Jennifer take her last breaths, in her human and darach form. She was going to have so much fun torturing her in Hell when she went back.
Scott then called Stiles to check if everyone was alright—which, thankfully, they were. Stiles informed his friend to bring a ladder to get them out from the place they were in.
Derek looked over at Deucalion who was still looking around the warehouse in shock, seeing it look the exact same way that he had last saw it except with a bit of wear and tear to it. "My mother told me you were a man of vision once. We're letting you go because we hope you can be that man again." He said to the alpha.
"But if you're not, then having your eyesight back won't matter, because you'll never see us coming." Scott threatened, Lucy twinkling her fingers at Deucalion taunting him slightly as they walked away from him.
Lucifer appeared in Derek's loft the next morning, she was glad to not hear the alarm blare like it usually it, she was thankful for Kali punching it off of the wall. She noticed the packed bags on the floor next to the door and frowned slightly. Derek walked out from one of the rooms. "And where do you think you're going?" She asked him, scaring him slightly.
"Away." He answered her stiffly, causing Lucy to pout.
"That's a real shame." She said cocking her head to the side. She stood up off of the couch and walked towards him. "When will you be back?" She asked him.
"I'm not sure." He said to her. He was confused as to why she cared so much about what he was doing and how long he would be away for. He couldn't deny that it still felt good to think that she cared for him, hoping that she felt the warm feeling he felt when they touched. "Why?"
"Because I like to think we make a good team." She flirted. "Even when we're getting our asses kicked by a dark druid, we did pretty good together."
Derek chuckled slightly and looked at the ground before looking back at Lucifer. "We did get our asses kicked, didn't we? Aren't you supposed to be mega strong?"
The girl shrugged. "I am, but the ritual she was performing gave her my power, so she was essentially a match to me. It didn't help that I was trying to protect all of you while fighting her off." She answered biting her lip.
Derek chuckled once more. "You have a point." He said to her. "How about this, when I get back, I'll make it up to you?" He offered. He didn't know why he was feeling bold and flirty with the devil, he was attracted to her but he didn't know if that's how everyone felt towards her or just him. He knew he needed to stay away from women also—especially psychopathic women—and Lucy was the worst of the worst. But was she really? Was she really that bad?
Of course, she is. She's the devil. Derek knew he shouldn't trust his track record with women, but he couldn't help but want to give in to the feeling he got around Lucy.
It felt weird feeling these giddy emotions she felt towards Derek and the fact that he was flirting with her. But she smiled nonetheless. "I'll hold you to that one, doll face." She said, kissing his cheek lightly before walking around the loft, turning back slightly to send him a wink before disappearing.
