TH'S POV

Ringing the doorbell, I leaned on the wall beside the door, Jungkook on the other side, waiting for Chaeyoung to open the damn door to her apartment.

The door clicked open and we counted together.

One.

Two.

Three.

"Aaaah" We turned together to face her, to see her screaming and shocked face. But unfortunately, it was a him.

Jimin literally gawked at us, obviously wondering what was wrong with us. And he even had a judging eyes on us. "Fuck" Kook muttered, smiling awkwardly. "Give me that" I said, grabbing the bottle of mango juice we brought for Chaeng.

"Chaeng" I gushed, running to her for a bear hug, totally ignoring my brother-in-law. "Here's your mango juice" She squealed with delight, before turning to Jimin. "This is Tae" She said nudging me.

"Taehyung" I introduced myself, giving a handshake to Jimin. "I remember seeing you at the wedding" He replied. "Do you remember everyone at the wedding?" I smirked, glancing around her apartment.

"This is Kookie" Chaeng spoke fastly. Jungkook and Jimin greeted each other, all smiley lovely. "You're getting fat" Chaeng teased. "My babies are offended" Kook pouted, referring to his abs.

"You cooked?" I asked Chaeng, seeing the food served on the table. "Yep, all homemade" She gushed proudly. "Nice! I wanted to eat something homemade" Kook stated, already ready to dig in.

"But, when did you learned to cook?" I taunted, raising an eyebrow, that clearly said, bitch you lying. Chaeng pinched me, shutting me up, making all of us chuckle.

Chaeyoung doesn't know how to cook. But when she does try something, it doesn't disappoint you, for sure!

Following Chaeng, I walked to the kitchen with her. "Drinks?" I heard Jimin asking Kook. "Yes, but soft drinks please hyung" Kook answered, making me scoff.

"Hyung?" I asked Chaeng in disbelief. That annoying ass wouldn't address me like that! "Yep" She quipped. "You should also address him like that" I laughed out loud. "Bitch please"

"Apple juice?" Jungkook asked Chaeng, taking a sip from the said juice. "He likes apple juice more" She replied, referring to Jimin. "Oh"

"Chaeyoung, pass the kimchi please" Jimin asked her. "Sure" She answered, passing him the plate. I chuckled quietly, noticing the glowing happiness on Chaeng's face, when Jimin talked to her.

Guess she really is happy.

I ate the food quietly, not paying attention to the small talks between Kook and Jimin. They were talking about som related to work, while I stuffed my mouth with food.

"How's the food, Kook?" Chaeng asked. "It's good" He replied, giving her a thumbs up. "Do you remember the first time she step onto the kitchen?" I asked him, suddenly remembering the whole incident.

"Isn't that happened when aunt went to Ilsan?" Kook asked. "Hyung, she even made her grandmother eat pizza" He told Jimin.

"Yeah, then she told grandma that it was the pancake she had made" I chuckled, happy with Chaeng's annoying face. Even Jimin was laughing quietly. "Haha, very funny" She grumbled.

"What was your age then?" Jimin asked Chaeng, curiosity lacing his voice. And that was enough for me and Jungkook to burst out in laughter. Jimin was confused with our sudden outburst while Chaeng was literally fuming red with anger. We were laughing so hard that few tears escaped my eyes. "It was only two months back" Kook managed to explain to a confused Jimin, in between his laughter.

Jimin jumped on his seat suddenly, laughing. "Chaeyoung, that's my leg you're stepping on" Jimin stated calmly, making her go all pale with embarrassment. "You missed" I choked out, taunting her more.

"So Taehyung, where's your parents?" Jimin suddenly asked me. Dropping the fork, I scoffed. "So you don't know the family history?" I smirked. "Why Chaeng, didn't you tell him?" I asked her, tilting my head.

"My parents are divorced" I stated simply, before continuing my eating. "Okay" He responded. "So where are they now?"

Scoffing, I chewed the food furiously. No amount of words can describe how much I loathe them. Even the word hate is not enough to describe the hate I've.

Parents.

An uncomfortable silence followed after Jimin's question. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Chaeng and Kook sharing glances, trying to calm the situation.

"Is there a problem?" Jimin asked Chaeng, sensing the now uncomfortable environment. "Not at all" I replied, taking a sip of water. "Father's a colonel in the army. Somewhere in China-India border"

"Mother?" He probed. "She's a housewife, in somebody's house, someone's wife" I explained, looking at Jimin. "You don't sound like you approve of it" He smirked. "Who am I to approve?" I barked at his comment.

"You know, marriage is a legal punishment" I commented, calming my nerves. "Either a life sentence or a huge fine" I glanced at Kook and Chaeng. "They didn't want a life sentence" I continued. "Then for fine, that's me"

"Tae, do you know what I prepared for the dessert?" Chaeng quipped, trying to ease the atmosphere. But failed miserably. Still, I shooked my head a no, helping her. "It's your favourite hot chocolate favoured ice cream" She smiled, gesturing me to follow her to the kitchen.

I turned around to glance at Jimin, before following Chaeng to the kitchen. Searching his eyes, I was in dilemma to identify whether it was pity or regret he was feeling. But his eyes met mine and it was devoid of anything.

Welcome to the family!

What I love the most about nighttime is it's quietness. And it had always so much to say.

Sitting on the balcony, my brown hair played with the light breezes. The cool wind giving me a sense of comfort and peace.

"Jungkook" Jimin called. "I'm going for a jog"

"We were leaving" Kook replied, a magazine on his hand. "No, no, relax" Jimin interjected.

"Look, can we drop them off?" Chaeng asked Jimin, coming to the door. "Yeah, we will see" He responded, before walking out. "Look, can we go see the movie tonight?" She asked again, following him.

"Doesn't he has a name?" I asked Kook, lighting a cigarette. "Why she's not calling him using his name?" He shrugged in response.

"Grandma, pancake, pizza. What were you guys thinking?" Chaeng criticized, sitting beside me. "What? It's all the truth anyway" Kook answered. "I can't wait till you guys get married" She complained.

Throwing her a glare, I puffed up the smoking cigarette. "Tae, he didn't know any of this and he didn't want to hurt you" She defended, holding onto my arm.

Shrugging her hands off, I scoffed. "I don't care about him" I grunted. "I don't need someone people address as parents to reach my dreams"

"You can go wherever you want, but let us accompany you" Kook crooned, holding onto my one arm. "Yeah, you don't have any choice in that" Chaeng added, holding onto my other arm tightly this time. "Isn't it?"

I shrugged, ignoring their comments. But deep inside, it brought back the assurance I needed most.

I wouldn't even be alive if I didn't had them in life.

We were always together, were one of a kind, three words describe us, partners in crime.

The shareholders of my soul.
