you stuck your tongue out while staring boringly at the game that had been playing out

for an overall recap of what had occurred, Shidou scored the first goal without looking that surprised the people who weren't aware of his ability

and after that, isagi had unfortunately fallen for Karasu's obvious trick which opened the way for the male to score a goal

despite Shidou attempting to help the bluenette, it seemed that he had gotten distracted and forgotten about Karasu's hand tricks

the look he gave isagi after his goal was the same one he had given to your former teammate, Yuzu, in which he preyed on him for being your team's weakness

"so isagi's his target now" you sighed to no one in particular

as you had foretold, he had come for isagi as soon as Shidou had passed him the ball

Otoya also made his appearance when he stole the ball from Rin and scored a goal from then

you eventually grew bored and decided to lay on your back and stare off at the ceiling to waste some time

you could hear the sound of sweaty men running around until the buzzer rang

it was a goal for your team made by Rin

more running, more running

eventually a loud cheer

you turned your head to the left to see Otoya helping Chigiri off the ground as Karasu stood behind the two with a grin

'guess he managed to get them to acknowledge him' you turned your face back to the ceiling

you weren't paying attention as the next round started until some shouting came into your ears

"THAT WAS MINE!!" the simultaneous voices of Rin and Shidou came into your ears

once again, you turned your head to the side only to see the said males gripping onto each other's collars

you deadpanned at the scene before pushing yourself up so you could walk toward the duo 

"do that again and I'll kill you rinrin" shidou sang out in a menacing voice

"how about you put those antennae to use, you insect" he retorted, mirroring shidou's expression

"eh-" came from both males as they were pulled up by their hair

"how about you both quit being childish and get over it" you sighed once more, these people were so hard to deal with 

"It was a small misunderstanding, you're doing the most of it"

Rin glared at you and Shidou gripped your wrist as you eventually let go of the two

"anyways, I'm bored so one of you switch with me" you looked down at the two

"why can't you switch with one of them" Shidou pointed to your other 3 teammates with a bored expression

"cause they're the ones being evaluated? we can't send them off" you stated the obvious fact

"well I'm not coming off" Shidou put his arms behind his head and turned to Rin "how about you get off rinrin?"

he may have said it in a seemingly sweet voice but you knew better

"why should I listen to you?" the male gave a somewhat judgemental look to the blonde

"cause I'm not going off" he stared into the male's eyes as if communicating that no matter how much they debated, he wasn't going anywhere

Rin sighed and decided to be the bigger person to avoid unnecessary trouble

"Player swap! Itoshi Rin and L/N Y/N" the referee spoke

"so yer finally playin'" Karasu grinned

"yeah, I'm not planning on losing to you a second time" you stared him dead in the eyes

"we'll see about that miss no.1" he smirked

man was that all this guy could do

the starting whistle rang as Shidou passed you the ball

you passed the ball to the baby blue-haired male as he aimed to pass it back to you

"your team depends way too much on those one-two passes to move up"

Otoya had come in front of you, blocking your passage "Heya miss, it was about time you came out to play"

all you could do was stare at the male in silence while he smirked at you

"Hiori! over here!" isagi ran past you and Otoya "use me!"

but of course, the predator wasn't going to let his prey roam freely

"ya can't escape me Mr. Ordinary" the male chimed in

visible irritation was present in isagi's features which amused the former

that expression soon faded and was replaced with a look of shock when his teammate, Nanase, ran past him and Karasu called out to him

they did some trick which permitted isagi to get behind Karasu and then shift over to his blind spot so he could reach the ball

you looked at the scene in interest, then in ponder

you had seen a familiar play not too long ago, but from whom

you recalled back to the second selection, but no memories of anyone with a similar ability came to mind

you went even further back, to Team Z

that's when it came back to you

Naruhaya was the one with the ability to get behind and it seems that in some way, isagi was able to gain his ability

besides the point, your team had gotten past Mr. Predator and were now on your way to their net

you ran on the right side of the field, Otoya keeping up with your movements

"so are you going to keep tailing me like a dog?" you sighed at the male with half-lidded eyes

"of course I am" he nonchalantly replied, "we can't have you roaming free now can we?"

on the other side of the field, isagi dribbled closer to the net but was blocked off by chigiri

from his position, a goal wouldn't be possible so he needed to pass the ball

he looked around for options before a deep voice called out to him

"hey, hey! Isagi Yoichi!" shidou jogged towards the male with his arms out

looking at shidou's position, he was already in the Penalty Area

and by the looks of it, Karasu and Otoya's teammates still weren't aware of his ability

"shit" Otoya cursed as he changed his trajectory and ran towards shidou and isagi

"DON'T JUST STAND BEHIND HIM, BLOCK THE PASS!" Karasu's voice boomed

but it was too late for both males

isagi had already passed and the ball was now in shidou's hold

he held onto the dark-skinned male behind him and shifted his position whilst dragging the ball along his right foot before going in for a high-spin drive shot

"tada!" the male kicked his foot up with a childish smile on his face

even you couldn't deny it, he looked absolutely adorable at the moment

blush crept up on your face at the thought

you admit that the male had his moments where even you would find yourself flustered at his actions

but he didn't need to know that

you walked over to the blonde as he ponced up from his seated position and ran to you before putting you in a headlock

"you saw that!? those losers totally didn't see it coming!" Shidou grinned with a wide grin on his face

a ghostly smile made its way onto your features and disappeared just as fast as it had come

you had hoped nobody had seen it but unfortunately, the worst possible person had seen it

"I saw that! you can't deny it, I saw you smile!" shidou who once had you in a headlock had now fully jumped on your back

"whatever you say" you brushed him off, pushing him back down so the both of you could walk back to your side

isagi stood on the side, bewildered

not only by Shidou's performance but by Y/N newfound behaviour

back in team Z she wasn't very expressive and kept her words to a minimum

yet here she was, talking (mostly arguing) with this guy she had met not too long ago

it's like he had brought out this unknown side of this girl

"SHIDOU IF YOU DON'T LET ME GO THIS INSTANT YOUR KIDS ARE GONNA PAY FOR IT!" you shout at the male who had groped you while trying to jump on your back

'or forced it out of her' isagi scratched his chin awkwardly while sweat ran down his chin

as you got back in position, you turned to face isagi who was positioned behind you

"hey isagi, don't worry too much, I've got you covered" you assured the male though he wasn't too sure by what you meant

starting whistle rang as Otoya passed the ball to Karasu who isagi rushed towards immediately

just before they could initiate a one-on-one, you slid in front of isagi with your arm out "I told you not to worry much, I'll take care of the predator for you"

"predator? yer makin' it sound like I'm huntin' some child down" the blue-haired male chuckled

"I mean you are preying on the weak so I think it fits you just right" you shrugged

Karasu went into an intensive rep of scissoring before launching to your left

he reached his hand out to you to use them to overpower you, but right as he was about to land his hand on your chest, you elbowed him

"the hell you think you're trying to touch" you gave him a judgemental look

"unintended. I was just trynna reach out to grab any part" he defend awkwardly as a small tint appeared on his cheeks

you reached out your hand to him this time, placing it on his chest and pushing yourself forwards so you could grab the ball from the front

he tried to roll the ball back so he could make a pass to Otoya who wasn't too far with Nanase on him

before he could do so though, a leg slid down and stole the ball from under Karasu's foot

isagi had shocked most people on the field with his steal as his eyes slowly looked up at you

you gave the male a thumbs-up before he ran to the other side with Hiori and Nanase supporting him

"time for me to go help..." you muttered as you were about to run but you were cut off by a hand being put in your way

"as if I'd letcha go there and score so easily" the male smirked

"too bad" and with that, you were gone

"huh!?"

"you were too preoccupied with me you lost track of the most important piece in a soccer field" you chuckled as you repeated the words you had told Otoya the last time you faced the two

the loose ball rolled towards you and at that point, you were wide open for a clear shot

you turned back to smirk at the distressed look on Karasu's face despite him trying to cover it with a smirk of his own

"you've always gotta look around if you don't want to repeat a mistake like that" you walked past the male

you could hear footsteps running behind you before they stopped right next to you

"hey Y/N" isagi started as you responded with a hum "did you know I was coming for the ball when I did?"

"yeah, I mean I left you there when I came up to Karasu so I kind of expected you to be not too far if he tried anything" you answered

he hummed as he put his index finger to his chin "I have another question actually"

"go ahead" you sigh

"do you perhaps have spacial awareness like me?" he questioned

his question lingered in your mind for a bit as you stared slightly upward at the male

"somewhat, yeah"

it wasn't a clear answer which meant she was still holding back

the bluenette made sure to keep the information in mind for when it came to use

whistle

you ran towards Karasu who had the ball in hold as he stopped running

"I don't wanna have to deal with cha right now" he passed the ball to Otoya who responded with an 'ok'

"and here you were talking about us depending too much on the one-two passes" you looked over at the albino "talk about being a hypocrite"

"gotta do what you gotta do sometimes" Otoya shrugged

isagi then came in between Otoya and Karasu as he attempted to surround the latter with you

"yer not surrounding me again, Mr. Ordinary" Karasu smirked "I'll make use of the space you've given me!"

with that, he put his hand on both isagi's and your's stomach, well tried getting you

you managed to move out of the way and extend your leg to throw off his pass a bit, that'd give more time for your team to recover

"heh, even if y'a did manage to make my pass just a bit less precise, princess over there's got that cover" Karasu smirked in a teasing manner (idk how many times I've made this guy smirk)

though instead of the reaction he had wanted, you simply chuckled at his words "did you forget about that jumping freak?"

realization hit Karasu as he turned to the scene where right as the ball was right on top of Chigiri's head, it was stopped by Shidou's foot who had jumped in the air to catch it

to some, it may have looked like Shidou had grown wings from the height he had jumped

"HAHA!!" exclaimed the male "THE BEST PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS FASHIONABLY LATE!"

the loose ball landed in Nanase's hold in which he initiated series of passes between you, isagi and himself

isagi then passed the ball out of your cycle to Hiori who was in the far outer left side

Otoya ran with you as you rushed toward the net together

Hiori finally made his pass which was directly in the center of the net

you were about to run to shoot the ball until you saw shidou already there

'this moron!' you sweatdropped as you took a step back, you didn't want to bump into him like Rin had last time and risk losing the ball again

a rush of wind came from your left side as Isagi rushed in to steal Shidou's spotlight and shot far into the left top corner of the net

the bluenette then fell to the ground and rolled all the way up to the front of the net

a snort came from your mouth as you turned away from the scene, holding your mouth

"next time, I won't be the one swapping out" Rin's voice made its way into your ears which brought you back to your senses

"it'll be his turn then" you pointed to Shidou who began complaining

"if you agreed to leave during this match then you wouldn't have had to"

"you guys are both top 1, we don't need 2 of you on the field!" he tried to argue

"too bad, it's already decided" you shut him out

"that was an unfair vote!" he complained

"shut up, you're not gonna die from not playing you insect" Rin sighed in an irritated manner as he put a hand to his temple

"I will!"

"HOLY CRAP! ISAGI!!" a loud voice screamed as the three of you turned to the scene

Nanase had jumped on isagi who ended up on the floor, laying on his stomach with the other male sitting on his thighs

"that looks wrong." you pointed in a deadpan (chap.104 if y'all wanna see)

"someday" Shidou turned to you with a smirk

"keep your shady thoughts to yourself, thank you" you held your fists in front of you

"hey get off me..." isagi ushered the male in embarrassment

Shidou congratulated isagi which somehow turned into an argument between him and Rin

"hey, hey, if you can't acknowledge someone else, you'll go from second-rate down to third-rate" Shidou closed the gap between him and the male "at least for this match, I think we can all agree that isagi was the real no.1"

"since the match is over, we can't get carded for our actions" Rin cracked his knuckles as Shidou mirrored his movements

"YOU WANNA GO HUH!?" that was the last straw before the two got into a catfight

sigh

you held your forehead in exasperation

Isagi and Hiori rushed in to stop shidou while only Nanase held Rin back

"fight. fight" a voice encouraged

you looked down to find Otoya sitting on the ground with his legs crossed seemingly enjoying the 'show'

"been a while since I got to watch a fight" the male spoke with his usual unexpressive face despite his excitement "It's like fight club"

"yer so childish" Karasu sighed as he came to your other side, hands in pockets

"how are you feeling after the loss?" you teased the taller male

"y'a barely won so don't go thinkin' yer all that" Karasu scoffed back

the three of you continued observing the situation in both amusement and irritation

Chigiri decided to help Nanase in holding Rin back until the speaker spoke

"Any further violence will result in disqualification!" that was all it took to stop the males who could only scowl at each other

'again, where were these rules back then when Shidou was beating everybody on sight' you sweatdropped

I'm trynna make this Y/N more expressive but it's not working since when I reread this I cringed so hard 😭

yes this is another boring chapter BUT expect lots of interactions in the following ones

also, I'm on my exam period incase some of you guys didn't see my board so I've been focusing on my studies this past month
