Ponyboy Curtis sits on the couch, watching television with Johnny since he finished all his work. Johnny was looking at the tv with curious eyes and kept making the same goofy faces as the characters.

"You like this show," Ponyboy asks smiling at him.

Johnny nods his head and turns to face the younger boy, giving a happy look. Ponyboy ruffles his hair.

"Good," Ponyboy says. "I like it too. It's one of my favorites."

"Really, how long has it been going," Johnny asks.

"A while actually, it's an old show but I love it nonetheless," the younger boy says happily.

Ponyboy rests his head on Johnny's shoulder, shifting comfortably. The older boy wraps an arm around him, smiling softly before watching tv again.

"You can't stay like that for long Pony, your brother should be home soon and he'll kill me if he catches me with a hand on you," Johnny says. "Possibly literally."

"I know," Ponyboy murmurs tiredly. "But I just wanna be close to you."

"Why's that," Johnny asks curiously, looking back at the younger boy.

"I dunno," he says softly. "You just make me feel good. Like... When I am close to you, my insides turn to mush and I just can't help but smile."

"Is there a word for how you feel," Johnny asks. "It seems like a good way to feel about me. At least, I think it is."

"Oh it is Johnny, it's great," Ponyboy says. "I just can't pin point what it is. I'll ask Soda about it later.. He might know what it is."

"I'll try and figure it out too," Johnny says. "Cause I happen to get the same way with you. You make my mood go from sad to all smiles, just by walking into the room."

"I make you feel like that," Ponyboy asks. "Really?"

"Of course. You're the first person to show me any type of kindness in a long time," the older boy says. "And it feels good to have someone care about me... Ever since my parents... No one was there."

"I'm here now," Ponyboy says, looking up at Johnny since his head was on his shoulder. "And I'm not gonna leave you.."

"Thank you," Johnny says softly. "That means the world to me."

"Good. You deserve that and so much more," Ponyboy says. "Truly."

Johnny grins and nods his head slightly, agreeing with the younger boy. Maybe he did deserve more than what he gets...

"If you really think so Ponyboy," Johnny says. "If you say it, it must be true. And you deserve the world... You show so much kindness, knowing I can't return it. Thank you."

"It's no trouble Johnny, really it isn't," Ponyboy says. "I'm glad to give you anything."
