"Kit! Wait!" Tory called out as she hurried after Kit once practice was over. Kit was holding a ice pack Miguel got her to her face as she hurried out of the dojo, "God, would you just stop!"

"You could have said no!" Kit shouted as her, more hurt mentally then physically, "I would have never hurt you like that, no matter what old man was breathing down my neck."

"It's not like I actually wanted to." Tory scoffed as Kit threw her bag into the passengers seat. Tory grabbed her arm quickly, "Hey, i'm talking to you."

"You could have done some real talking ten minutes ago." Kit glared as she pulled herself into the car and sped off out of the strip mall.

"You're late." Johnny scolded Kit as she walked through the woods toward the group, "Where were you?"

"Traffic jam." Kit said as she glanced around at the two different rows that were lined up, "Are we playing Red Rover?"

"You're on red team, fall in." He demanded her, tossing the red headband at her chest. Kit stood by Aisha as she tied it around her head, glancing over to see Tory standing besides Miguel, staring at her.

"Gentleman, Ladies." Kreese spoke as he eyed each of the teams, "Welcome to Coyote Creek. You've been split into two teams. Red.. and black. The goal is to capture as many headbands as possible from the other side. Today, the people across from you are not your friends."

Kit and Tory eyed each other.

"They're not your brothers." Kreese added in, eyeing his team, "They are the enemy. Last team standing wins."

"How do we get the headbands?" Miguel questioned from the other side of Tory.

"By any means possible." Kreese said confidently, "No rules."

"Use your judgment. This is just a training exercise." Sensei Lawrence added in with a knowing look toward each of the students.

"Correct, but remember, this is your life." Kreese spoke as he held up the headband. "You lose it... you die."

"Hey, guys! Sorry i'm late!" Raymond said as he hurried over, his beard tied in a thin point. Kit gave him a odd look as she nudged Aisha, silently asking her to help tighten the headband around her head, "Traffic on the 118 was a real bitch. Put Coyote Creek into the nav. Nothing came up."

"What have you done to yourself?" Johnny asked what everyone had been thinking.

"Oh, the...yeah, you know what, I just decided to flip the script. Hawk-Style." he spoke confidently while pulling off his sunglasses. Kit snorted slightly, getting smacked in the back of the head by Hawk, "Hererofore, you can refer to me as Stingray."

"Yeah, Stingray!" Kit clapped for him.

"Yeah, all right, Chubs. He's on your team." Johnny said as he looked to Kreese knowingly.

Kit hadn't managed to get any headbands yet, more so hiding from the ones that came to her. She knew she wasn't any good at karate yet, only knowing a few moves but nothing to put to the fighting test. Her lip had a heartbeat, the kick Tory sent to her face yesterday busted her lip and left a painful mark on her lip. Kits shoes crushed the dried leaves slightly. She had been to Coyote Creek once before, a closet case hook up was all it had been before she got her car.

"Was wondering when i'd find you." the familiar, deep voice spoke up. Kit spun around quickly to see Tory grinning at her, "I guess this is when you say you lost your phone and that's why you can't answer my calls?"

"I was ignoring you." Kit said confidently as she stood up straight, the pair standings a good distance between each other.

"Oh, so you admit it." Tory smirked, "I like this side of you."

"Get use to it." Kit gave a glare as she took a step back when Tory came forward, "Or don't."

Tory smirked before she charged at Kit, swinging her fist first. Kit ducked down to dodge it, backing up each time Tory threw her fist. When the blondes leg out reached, Kit shoved it away. As Tory stumbled, Kit grabbed her shoulders and jumped up around her waist. Tory attempted to throw her off but Kits legs tightened around her, throwing her own body back as she hit the ground, brining Tory down with her.

Kit hurried to throw her body on top of Torys, straddling her waist and yanking the headband from her head, "Notice how I didn't have to kick you in the face to win?"

Tory breathed heavy as she looked up at Kit in shock, "How'd you do that?"

"I'm not a fast learner." Kit admitted as she pressed down onto Torys lower abdomen a bit more, "But when I finally get the hang of something, I can raise hell."

"Proud of you." Tory gave a grin as her, eyes flickered behind Kit, "But you still didn't win."

Kit frowned in confusion before she felt a gentle hand pull the headband off her head from behind. Kit whipped her head around quickly to find Miguel grinning at her.

"That was awesome." he said honestly with a laugh, "I knew that move would come in handy soon, you just had to figure out how to use it."

"You stole my headband." Kit said in disbelief as she got off of Tory and stared in disbelief, "So, I lost?"

"Well, you still have that one." Miguel nodded to Torys headband in Kits hand, "I think you should show sensei that move."

"He doesn't like me." Kit confirmed as she glanced toward Tory who stood up and brushed her jeans off.

"He does, believe me." Miguel said as he pulled a leaf off of her shirt, "You did good."

Kit blinked as he walked off, leaving the pair. Kit looked over at Tory who stood there, staring at her.

"Look, i'm sorry for kicking you like that." Tory admitted quickly as she sighed and shook her head, "I just wanted to impress Kreese so he wouldn't think I was weak."

"I know, I get it." Kit said a moment, sighing, "I hate how he views us."

"What do you mean?" Tory asked as her and Kit headed through the woods together, "Us?"

"Women in karate." Kit corrected her with a huff of disbelief, "They act like we're weak, I hate it."

"That's why we have to work harder." Tory said as she threw a arm around Kit, "You do what you did today, and you've got it in the bag."

"You think that move will actually work? I figured it would just distract you." Kit shrugged as she tied Torys headband around her wrist, "Like you did me on the beach that day."

"I know what you were going to do, I was prepared for distractions." Tory nodded her head as she glanced over at Kit as they got closer to the many voices that had already gotten their headbands stollen, "But I had no clue you were gonna pull that move, never let anyone steal that from you."

"I'll bust their faces in if they do." Kit said with a smirk as Tory grinned and pulled her into a tight side hug as the pair walked closer to the group together.

"Is that Miguel and Hawk?" a voice spoke up as a pair of fighting voices echoed in the air. Tory, Aisha, and Kit broke conversation to hurry up the hill with the rest of them. The pair of boys were indeed fighting, going a lot harder at the other then they had in basic training. It seemed as though Hawk would have had him if he hadn't made the mistake of ducking down, giving Miguel enough time to throw him over his shoulder and onto the ground.

"Jesus." Kit cringed as she glanced at Tory, "And I thought I was too hard on you."

Miguel took Hawks head band and a chain around his neck, baring the headband high in the air as the Black team clapped for him. Miguel eyed Kreese slightly as he gave a nod, turning around on his heel quickly and kicking Hawk in the face, knocking him out. Kit gasped out of instinct, seemingly Sensei Lawrence doing the same.

"Team Black!" Miguel announced loudly as he held the headband higher. Kit snuck past him and kneeled next to Hawk, tapping his checks slightly to get his eyes to open. He groaned in pain and leaned into her hands a bit. Kit felt guilty for enjoying the first time he'd let her get this close to him. Hawk sat up slowly, his eyes squinted slightly.

Raymond came out from under a large pile of leaves, attacking Miguel and stealing his headband, "The Red Team just won!"

Kit laughed loudly as she cheered, Hawk doing the same from the ground as he held his face in pain. As the cheers continued, Kit rose to her feet and held her hands out to the bright haired boy. For a second, Kit though he was actually gonna take them. Hawk stood on his own, shoving Kit away from him and walking off.

"Come on, we better celebrate your win." Tory said after she watching the whole scene fall down, knowing Kit would probably feel down about it and wanted to distract her quickly.
