backstory; *abuse warning*her mother died when roslin was born . her father blamed her for it , since she had never had any complications with the birth of her brothers . he became an alcoholic , and would physically abuse roslin . her brothers tried their best to stop it , but they couldn ' t be with her at all times . it escalated to when he wasn ' t drunk , just whenever he felt like it . the physical abuse got worse , as well as the mental and emotional abuse . then the sexual abuse started . it only happened a couple times , but it still happened . at a party with her friends one weekend , when she was thirteen , she took a few pills . and she liked the feeling . she was able to forget everything . forget the pain . so she kept taking them . and it quickly grew into an addiction . when she was almost sixteen , her older brothers took her and they left her father . the three moved to new york . they lived there for awhile , roslin finishing college . she got recruited by the fbi , and started training with them . two weeks after she had left , she got a call . her brothers had died in a fire . there were no bodies found , but her brothers were gone . she blamed herself , thinking if maybe she had been there they wouldn ' t have been at the house that night . but she also refused to believe it . there were no bodies , so they could still be alive . . . she finished her training for the fbi , and was assigned to the bau
