backstory; project six didn't have much of a childhood. not a real one, anyways. her parents gave her over to hydra when she was four years old. she remembers nothing of the few years before Hydra, she was to young. over the next four years, hydra trained her along with five other kids. their end goal was to create another super soldier, another version of the winter soldier. their hope was that, with the children being raised withing hydra, it would be easier to brainwash and control them. the injections started when she was eight years old. they started out with minor ones, engineered to prepare their bodies for the big one. the injections began to slow down their aging and build up their immune systems. they were given an injection once every months. when they were ten, the injections changed, and began to increase their physical strength.

the final test before the next stage came when they were thirteen. the six of them knew that only one person would continue on to stage two, but they hadn't expected this. they were all put into a room together, and told that only one would leave alive. project six was the one that left alive.

project six began the more extensive training, since she was the one moving to stage two. during this time, she was also injected with several experimental serums. and they resulted in her abilities.

they showed her how to use them, how to control them. two years later, when she was sixteen, the brainwashing began. when she was eighteen, they gave her the final injection. it was a altered version of the super soldier serum they had used in the winter soldier program. but it worked all the same. the brainwashing and training continued for years, until she was their perfect little soldier.

it was during a raid on the hydra base that she was in that shield found her . they took her , and took her back to shield headquarters . she stayed there in a cell for a while , shield unsure if she was a threat or not . 

some people tried questioning her , but she didn ' t say much of anything to them . finally , natasha romanoff was sent in . project six still remained silent for quiet a while . but as time went on  , the brainwashing that hydra had put her in slowly began to lessen . the longer she went without it being redone , the more of herself that came out . 

she slowly started to talk , answering natasha ' s questions . she began to open up a bit more , but was still distant . it was several months later that shield finally let her out of the cell , but they still kept her on a short leash . they still weren ' t entirely sure if she was a threat or not . 

she gave them what information she could , but it wasn ' t a lot . she had grown close to natasha in that time . she began to work for shield , but only did small things . they still didn ' t entirely trust her . during this time , she also took the name ember .

when the events of avengers happened , she was one of the people recruited to help . she was specifically given the task of being loki ' s babysitter . she wasn ' t entirely sure why they had chosen her , since she knew some people at shield were still wary of her . but she didn ' t question it .

and with loki being a frost giant , his skin is natural really cold . he is one of the only people who can touch her , without being hurt .
with overheating , it can cause a number of things . she doesn ' t really begin to overheat until her body temp gets to around five hundred , and even after that it is pretty minor until about seven hundred and fifty . after five hundred , she simply begins to get extreme headaches , nausea , powers get a bit faulty , skin gets hotter , etc . after seven hundred and fifty ,  it gets worse . she can lose consciousness , lose memories , organ failure , heart stopping , etc . her powers also get even more faulty . 
with about every thirty minutes spent still , her temp  rises about twenty degrees . with the jacket , it is lowered to ten . 
when tony  finally discovered / got the hang of nanotech , he made her something . contained in two bracelets , it was virtually a glove . transparent , and extremely thin . it allowed her to be able to touch things without burning them . but , she still couldn ' t feel them . it was better than nothing , however .
