Kira sat on the floor for an hour and a half waiting for Regulus and Kreacher to apparate back to her.

Each second that ticked by, filled her with dread and fear. Fear that Regulus was dead, and she would never hear the crack of apparation.

This filled her mind until she heard it in the entrance.

They're back.

She leapt up and sprinted to the entrance room of the house but slid to a stop when she didn't see Regulus.

Kreacher was standing alone in her entrance.

She let out a shaky breath, "Where's Regulus?"

Kreacher shook his head, "Master Regulus is dead."

She laughed, but it was not filled with humour. "What do you mean he's dead? He, he, he can't be dead." She threw up her hands. She didn't know what to do with herself.

Kreacher nodded, "Master Regulus is dead. Master Regulus is gone."

"No," she whispered. And then she screamed. Dropping to her knees, she hit the ground with her fists. "No!" She screamed. Her sobs were gut-wrenching, and she felt her throat hurt from the screams but she didn't care.

Kreacher left and she was alone in her misery.

Kira spent the next three days in her bed. She got up to go to the bathroom and drink water from the cup she kept next to her bed, but other than that she never left.

She would fall asleep and wake up, only to turn around and realise the left side of the bed was empty and Regulus was still gone.

She would cry. Then she would get up to go to the bathroom, and clean her face. Then she would cry some more.

Most of the time was spent staring at the ceiling. She felt numb. Empty. Like a part of her was missing.

That's why when Sirius came to visit that morning, he thought she was gone too.

Sirius knocked on the door a few times. The letter he received from his father was still clutched in his hand. It was simple and short but it tore through him all the same.

Regulus has gone missing. It's suspected that he's dead. The Aurors are looking for him.

The longer he waited outside his brother's house the more worried he got. He checked through the living room window, but nothing seemed broken or trashed. It was messy, like someone hadn't cleaned, but not like someone broke in.

There were charms on the door to prevent magic being used to open it, so he did the most logical thing and broke down the door.

It worked, so he took his wand in his hand and searched the house.

He came to a stop at the main bedroom. It was the only door that was closed.

He stepped forward and opened the door to find Kira laying in her bed.

He was half-sure she was dead.

He ran over to her, trying to feel for a pulse but she only blinked blankly up at him.

"Kira?"

She came to her senses and sat up. Her eyes filled with tears.

"Kira? What happened to Regulus?"

"Sirius," she cried, unable to form words.

"Hey, hey, it's okay." He held her arms, trying to calm her. Though, he knew it wasn't okay. Regulus was really gone, at least by her reaction.

He got up and went to get her a glass of water. Once he gave it to her and she calmed down a bit she could speak.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay, what happened?"

Kira sniffed, "Regulus, he, uh, he's dead. And you look so like him." Her eyes filled with more tears, but she held them in. She could be strong for Sirius too.

His eyes also began to fill with tears. "How?"

Before Regulus left, he asked her to tell no one of what he did or what happened.

"I don't know, Kreacher told me he died completing a task for the Dark Lord. But Sirius you cannot tell anyone."

Sirius stood up and paced around the room. He hit his head against the wall and mumbled, "I should've stopped him," before coming to sit next to her.

"How long has he been gone?"

"I, I think it's been three days."

"Kira, when last have you left your room?"

"Since it happened," she mumbled.

Sirius sighed, "Our parents think he's missing."

For a second she looked confused, "They told you?"

He nodded, wiping his eyes.

She leaned his head on her shoulder, "He proposed."

Sirius rested his head on hers, and smiled, "He did?"

"Yeah," she mumbled.

"You would've made a radiant bride," he whispered.

"No one's more radiant than you, Sirius."

They sat like that for a while, before Sirius got up and dragged her with him.

"You can't just sit around like this and waste away. Put on some actual clothes. We'll go make some breakfast."

She sniffed again, rubbing her eyes with her sleeves. "You don't have to take care of me, Sirius."

"Yeah, I do."

She got changed into sweatpants and one of Regulus' dark green sweaters. It always brought her comfort, and even now it did. It made her sad too, but she tried think about how Regulus' would urge her to get up and live.

She reached the kitchen where Sirius was making toast with peanut butter. He handed her a slice when she sat by the kitchen island.

"I don't know what to do, Sirius," she said, taking small bites from her toast.

"Mourn, then go on living."

She looked up, taking in his messy hair and red eyes. "At school, after I lost my mom, I was forced to pretend like everything was okay. I had him to distract me. Now, I feel lost."

"Kira, you still have me, and James, your sister, and your friends. You're not alone. Owl them, visit them. Don't fall into a void you can't escape." He gave her a ferocious look, and she knew he meant every word. She would not let herself go. She would fight everyday, and maybe one day she'll find her way again.

Her star was gone, and the light was put out. She was going to put it back on.

I do feel bad but I'm also really happy with the scene from the last chapter, I'm happy with the way it turned out. Anddd ahh I wish this could've ended with Reggie still alive :( but ya girl's got other plans for Kira
