Milo James Thatch - The young prince has an awkward relationship with his father in the sense that Metos likes his father, but he can't seem to relate to his father as the two are vastly different. Plus, he's not as close to Milo when one compares his relationship with his mother.

Because of this, Milo will decide to teach Atlantean language at Auradon Prep as a way to get closer to his son. However given his appearance and geekiness that comes from having a linguist as a father, Metos will try to convince his father not to go, because of the way the Auradon Prep kids will treat him.

Yet, Metos will encourage him to take the position as a way of changing his mind [and to secretly prove his point that the kids would laugh at his father].

When King Triton supports the decision and convinces the board to accept the offer, his father ultimately becomes the first person to teach Atlantean language. Unfortunately for Metos, Milo is definitely a geek and too embarrassed to face him or the kids in his class, the prince ends up skipping his father's class to hang out with Audrey and Chad.

The prince's lack of belief in his father will end up hurting their relationship, especially when Metos admits that he only encouraged him because of the others, causing Milo to think he made a mistake. However, the prince will come back to his senses, get over his embarrassment and convince his dad to continue teaching the course.

Kida Nedakh-Thatch - Metos is much closer to his mother in the sense of their bond being deeper as the young prince tends to go to his mother for advice. However, his bond with her will weaken when Kida becomes disappointed in the prince's behavior toward his father, Milo, who only came to Auradon Prep, to bond with him.

Through her, Metos will ultimately learn how terribly he treated his father and try to fix things between them. While his actions will repair their relationship, Metos will come to eventually resent his mother for making Dohasan the next heir when it's apparent that his eldest brother is incapable of ruling.

Dohasan Arseni Thatch - Believing his eldest brother to be an incompetent ruler, Metos shares a tense relationship with him. As such, he isn't close with Dohasan, insisting that the throne of Atlantis should be his birthright, given how his brother doesn't take ruling seriously. Worse, it annoys Metos that Dohasan always outshines him in everything!

Katerina "Kat" Peti Thatch - Metos isn't as close to his older sister because as a graduate of Auradon Prep, she seems to make his accomplishments seem insignificant. As such, it also doesn't help how she is constantly teasing him. Because of this, Metos will soon come to resent her.

Zorina "Zora" Luci Thatch - The only sibling Metos is closest with is his little sister, whom he deeply cares for. Additionally, Zora is the only one who he doesn't resent in the process.

Personality:
Fierce, protective and aggressive, Metos is someone who cares deeply for his people and becomes infuriated when he feels his people are becoming ignored. As such, he tends to get into fights with his eldest brother, often insisting that the heir to the throne is unfit to lead.

Furthermore, Metos may be kind, but there's a sense of arrogance and pride in him as he carries the honor of being from Atlantis near his heart. As such, he will downplay the other kingdoms, often criticizing their structure.

Additionally, Metos is known to be very competitive in water-related activities [which happen to be one of his strengths]. Because of this, Metos tends to be more aggressive with his opponents, often (but not always) restoring to shortcuts and/or cheating his way into winning when he feels his title is at risk.

Over time though, Metos will start to believe he was wronged by his parents in the sense that the eldest is the next ruler of Atlantic when it should be him. So when he snaps and becomes evil alongside Audrey, he decides to challenge his eldest brother for the throne and rights to control Atlantis.

However, it will soon be revealed that (while) Metos is an effective ruler [in terms of commending respect and dealing with their enemies/opponents], the young prince isn't the best one....

Brief overview on their legacy:
Milo Thatch - An inexperienced young adventurer becomes the key to unraveling an ancient mystery. A naive-but-determined museum cartographer Milo Thatch dreams of completing the quest begun by his late grandfather, a famous explorer. When a journal surfaces, an eccentric billionaire funds an expedition and when he joins up with a group of daredevil explorers to find the legendary lost empire of Atlantis, the action shifts to high gear.

Kida Nedakh - A young princess who witnessed her home become submerged and lost to the world. Determined to learn more, she brings a group of outsiders to her home for answers, even connecting to a linguist named Milo Thatch [whom she would eventually marry]. In overcoming the influences of the crystal [thanks to Milo saving her] and the death of her father, Kida is able to restore the Heart of Atlantis, help her people regain their heritage and start a new reign as the crowned Queen of Atlantis.

In all honesty, the identification for his parents [or at least, one of them] is slightly different from most cases as both of his parents began as neither.

Milo wasn't not a 'typical fairytale character' [which Auradon has strictly classified as royals or well-known 'fairytale' heroes] and Kida was a princess [in her own right], she was deemed ineligible by the board for 'unknown reasons' [in reality, no one wanted to approve Kida as her behavior wasn't up to par with Auradon Prep's standards].

However when Katerina graduated from Auradon Prep and became an alumni, she remained well-liked among her peers and staff members that the older princess had enough influence on her to somewhat overpower the board's initial decision on her parents [or at least, one of her parents].

While the board granted the right to claim Kida as a AK [as Kida had grown to become well-known among the students and staff by the time of his older sister's graduation], the board still refused to acknowledge Milo as he wasn't born a royal and still didn't fit the standards outlined within Auradon Prep.

Because of this, only Kida is recognized as a AK while Milo doesn't exist in their records as he was deemed to be a 'lesser-known' hero.

Atlantean magic powers - Like his parents, Metos has access to Atlantean magic powers through a crystal that was gifted to him through the King and Queen.

Bilingual - Like his parents, Metos is able to speak English and Atlantean as he is fluent in both languages.

Strengths:
Slow tempered - Metos reacts very slowly to temper. He tends to let most things go, depending on the situation. Furthermore, Metos seems to possess a calm and collective mindset, which explains why he isn't so easily prone to anger.

Water - As Metos has been surrounded by water his entire life, the prince is excessively close to the currents. As such, the prince feels more comfortable when he is surrounded by water, which is why Metos joined the swim team at Auradon Prep [becoming Captain after out-beating his long-time opponent and rival, Prince Dion (son of Queen Ariel and King Eric)] and is currently trying to get a canoeing team going.

Physical Strength and Agility - Since his mother is a warrior royal, Metos possesses a impressive display of strength and agility. Furthermore, the young prince gained an additional knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship and/or marksmanship as his mother wanted her son to defend himself.

Weakness(es):
Carrots - Like his father, Metos has a strong dislike towards carrots and cannot for whatever reason be tempted into eating carrots as the prince tends to get sick easily.

Grudges - Most of the time, Metos will let situations go but when the prince has rare circumstances in which the situation becomes an actual problem, Metos will then hold a grudge against whoever has wronged him [or those he cares about]. This fact is proven true when the prince begins holding a grudge against Ben [unaware of the fact he was under a love spell created by Mal] for hurting Audrey.

Judgement - Much like Audrey [and the other AK's], Metos is skeptical of having the kids of four villains come attend Auradon Prep. He, like the others, tend to deem the villain kids unfit for Auradon until Theo points out that he wasn't any better. So almost as a bet, Metos sets out to prove her wrong, befriending the VKs for selfish purposes.

However while the prince remained friendly with Carlos and Evie, he remained neutral with Jay and gradually disliked/distrusted Mal [given how the girl is the daughter of the 'evilest villain' within the Isle, Maleficent]. Although the four villains eventually became good by the end of Descendants, Metos remains skeptical of the four [especially Mal] and retains his general distrust in villains altogether.

Physically, Metos doesn't have a weapon. However, he is connected to his mother's spear which currently resides in the museum.

1. His relationship with Dohasan is similar to the one experienced between Cassandra Gothel and Rapunzel in the sense of Metos constantly being overshadowed by his eldest brother. While not very apparent at first, the young prince's anger toward Dohasan will fester until Metos (like Princess Audrey) snaps and becomes set on taking Atlantis from his brother through force.
