Chapter 7 - "What is happening to me?"
After Teresa removed Frypan and Gally their tags, it was my turn. I sat down on a chair and Teresa started working.
"WICKED found out about something," Teresa said.
"Okay," I replied, not caring in the slightest.
"They found out you're not immune."
"Didn't they already know that?" I snapped.
"They didn't." Teresa put a wet cloth on my neck. "You have the Flare already, don't you?"
"Yes."
"They're looking for you." Teresa grabbed a small knife off the table next to us.
"Why?" I winced when I felt a sharp pain in my neck.
"Sorry." Teresa apologized. I didn't get why she was acting so nice out of a sudden, but I was curious. "After they found out you're not immune, they wanted to see why. They were sure you were immune but turned out you're not, so they want to find out why you aren't any more or what they did wrong."
"Maybe they just made a mistake." I snapped. "I don't care."
"You'll care when it's too late." Teresa grabbed some tweezers and got something out of my neck. Again, I winced at the stinging feeling. Let's just say it hurt. A lot.
"I don't care about dying, I only care about Minho." I sternly said, getting annoyed by the things Teresa was saying.
"You'll care when it's too late," Teresa repeated.

With tears in my eyes, I rushed over to my room. I guessed the Flare made me emotional too.
It wasn't dying I was afraid of, it was more to leave Newt on his own. But I had to focus on saving Minho, not myself. I would be selfish if I did. I would never want to be selfish, though it felt like I was.
I couldn't help myself to start sobbing. Though the others were right next to me in another room, I didn't care. Soon my pillow was wet because of the tears. A part of me wanted to harm myself, the other part said that I shouldn't.
"Nora, are you okay?" Newt asked, knocking on the door.
"I am fine, Newt," I replied, not even bothering to hide my sobs and the pain in my voice. They had heard me anyways.
"Can I come in?" Newt carefully asked.
"No, I'll be fine." I sniffed quietly.
"I want to come in." Newt corrected himself.
"Don't come in, Newt," I responded. He would get infected and I didn't want him to see me cry.
"Please, Nora. For once just listen and let me in. We can talk."
The words broke me even more and soon I let out some more sobs. Newt still hadn't left, though. But when suddenly I tasted something weird in my mouth, I had no choice but to jerk the door open and run towards the bathroom.
"Nora?" Newt sounded worried and he didn't hesitate to run after me. I slammed the bathroom door closed behind me and bent down to the toilet. I vomited a weird, black liquid. Newt opened the door just when I vomited for the second time. He stared at me shocked.
"Newt, leave. I don't want you to see me like this."
Newt sat down next to me. "I'm not leaving you right now." He put a hand on my back.
"Thomas said no touch." I sternly said.
"And we're listening to Thomas now?" Newt questioned. I couldn't help to chuckle but soon turned serious again.
"What is happening to me, Newt?" I lowered my voice and looked at the black liquid. How could that come out of my mouth?
"It's your body." Jorge walked into the bathroom. "It's your body trying to resist the virus."
"Is it working?" I asked.
Jorge hesitated. "No. The Flare will always take over." Jorge replied before leaving again.
"Well, that helped." I looked at Newt with my probably bloodshot eyes.
"Come on. Let's get you up." Newt pulled me off the ground and lead me to my room. "Try to sleep, all right? Tomorrow will be a long day."
