ELIRA HAD woken up just in time to see Professor Trent stop near an abandoned farm. "Get out, get out," she said. "We're here."

"This is Camp Wolfhead?" Ella asked, bewildered as everyone stepped out to breathe in the country air. "You all were describing it as if it was some high-tech innovation camp, not a dump!"

"Hey, watch it," Professor Trent snapped. "You think that the farm is our camp?" She laughed a little. "No, no. You see that fence of grass there? Yeah, that's the way to Camp Wolfhead."

"A fence of grass," repeated Daniel. "Wow."

"Don't underestimate it," Professor Trent said shortly. "It's wonderful." She led them all to the grass fence and then simply said, "Go through it."

"Won't we hit our heads?" Emma questioned.

"It's a gateway, Emma," Professor Trent said again. "Trust me, I've gone through this way a thousand times and it's the best way and it's the easiest." She clapped her hands. "First, I and Elira will go, I've got to drop her."

Elira and Professor Trent looked at the grass fence. "Right then," Professor Trent said as she saw Elira's dumbfounded face. "Are you ready Elira?"

"Um, can I go last?" Elira squeaked. "Please?"

"No," Professor Trent said simply. "We've got to get you in there." She grabbed the luggage. "Ready?"

Professor Trent and Elira cautiously walked into the grass fence. Elira felt all the grass poke on her shoulders and feet before finally, it was relieved. She opened her eyes to see a fantastic scene.

There was a large sign which said, "CAMP WOLFHEAD" in big bold letters, and the camp were cabins and a huge sign which said, "CAFE." There was a place where everyone was practicing with weapons.

"Woah," Ella's voice said. "This place is cool!"

"Yup," Professor Trent said, smiling. "It's home." Then, seeing that all the others were inside already she said, "I've got to take Elira in now. Say goodbye to everyone."

Elira hugged her mother first. "Thank you for letting me," Elira whispered as Emma hugged her. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too, Elira," Emma whispered back.

Elira hugged Ella next, who was silently trying to comfort her tears. "It's okay," she whispered to Ella. "I'll be back, Ella. See, even Professor Trent said that she and the others take good care of the people in Camp Wolfhead."

Ella wiped off her tears and said, "Promise?"

"Promise."

Elira hugged each of her brothers. Nick said emotional good luck, Daniel had hugged her so tightly her ribs might have broken, Ethan had only said a farewell and cried a little, and Jack had emotionally said goodbye and good luck.

"ZLADAVITCH!" Professor Trent yelled as she blew an ear-piercing whistle. "ZLADAVITCH! LEYLA ZLADAVITCH!"

Elira remembered that name from yesterday. It was the same girl who was with Professor Etta Darryl.

Leyla Zladavitch appeared. "Yes, Professor Trent?" she asked in a hoarse voice. She had a slight Russian accent.

"I've got the car outside, Zladavitch, can you drop off the Browns at their house in London?" Professor Trent asked Zladavitch as she handed her keys. "It's Sunday, on a November, Zladavitch, you shouldn't have anything to do, am I right?"

"Yes, Professor Trent," Zladavitch replied as she motioned for Elira's family to the door. "That's the way out. Come on."

Everyone waved goodbye to Elira. "Bye!" Ella said as she wiped away her tears. "Bye Elira! We'll see you soon!" her brothers screamed. "Bye Lira!" Emma said as she waved.

And they were gone.

Elira sighed and looked up at Professor Trent. "W-where to now?" she asked.

"Your cabin. Cabin . . . six, I presume," Professor Trent said, on the top of her mind. "Yes, Cabin six. Let's go, grab your luggage."

Professor Trent and Elira, who was holding her luggage, hurried into the camp, Elira looking from right to left, looking at everything.

Once, Elira saw a group of people saying something completely nasty to a girl, who just stood there.

"HEY!" another girl hollered, coming up to the girl who was getting bullied. "What do you think you're doing?"

Another pack of girls hurried toward the girl. One girl bumped into Elira, making her fall down.

"Oh my - I'm so sorry," she said as she held up a hand to Elira. Elira jumped up and muttered, "Thank you," but the girl had already hurried away.

Elira turned to Professor Trent. "Professor Trent, there are a few students there. They're fighting."

Professor Trent turned to them. "Oh no, not again," she muttered as she grabbed her whistle from her pocket and blew it, and went toward the students, yelling, "SIX AND EIGHT! BREAK IT UP!"

"Professor Trent, Professor, Cabin Eight was bullying Esme," one of the girls said.

"You can't believe them, Professor, they-" one of the girls in Cabin Six snapped.

"DON'T think I didn't see what happened," Professor Trent said loudly. "Do you think I don't know what happened? Detention, all of Cabin Eight!"

"This isn't fair, Professor Trent! They fought too!" Another girl said through the numerous swears and mutters through the crowd of Cabin Eight.

"All the people in Six were trying to help their friend!" Professor Trent said. She grabbed a pen and a piece of clear blue paper and wrote something down. She handed it to one of the girls in Cabin Eight. "Hand this to Professor Longthorn. Detention."

All of the people in Cabin Eight muttered something and went south. Professor Trent pointed at the cabin north of where they are. She said something to all the people there hurried to their cabin.

Professor Trent came back to Elira, sighing. "Elira, I'll get you to your cabin now," she said as she tried to smile. "You know those people there? Yeah, they're your cabin members. Not the ones that got detention," Professor Trent added as Elira opened her mouth to say something.

Professor Trent knocked on the door of a cabin. "Six?" Professor Trent asked, pounding on the door. "Luciana? Miss Wyndom!"

A tall girl opened the door. She was dirty blonde and had brown eyes. Elira knew that that was the first girl that helped the girl that got bullied.

"Miss Wyndom," Professor Trent said, smiling at the sight of the girl. "As I said, the new recruit. This is Elira Brown from Britain -"

"Sorry to interrupt," muttered Elira, "but aren't we still in Britain?"

Luciana and Professor Trent traded looks and then Luciana said, "I'll explain later," to Elira and smiled.

"Come on in, Elira," Professor Trent said as Luciana pushed the door open wider and they went inside, Elira taking her suitcase with her.

The cabin was cozy. It had a group of beds and one side table for each, and the bedsheets were different from each other.

"Welcome to Cabin Six!" Luciana said cheerfully.

"Luciana, can you and the others show Elira the camp? Thank you," Professor Trent said as Luciana nodded. "I'll be needing to take some people into detention, I'll see you later." Professor Trent went out of the cabin.

"Hello, Elira," Luciana said as she looked at Elira. "My name is Luciana Wyndom, I'm the cabin leader."

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Elira Brown," Elira said.

"Just a second, all the other cabin members are in there, I'll meet you as soon as we get you ready here. See, this is your bed, you can customize it how ever you want," Luciana said, as she pointed at an empty bed.

Elira unpacked her suitcase while Luciana tried to find some good pillow sheets. Elira put a picture of her and her family - not Byron - on the side table.

"Here! Elira, do you want a rose bed sheet or - what is this flower? Oh, it's a Hydrangea!" Luciana said as she held up two types of pillow sheets.

"Um, the Hydrangea. I like the blue color and it matches with my bedsheets," Elira said as she sat on the bed.

Luciana smiled as she held it out to Elira, who received it and started putting it on her pillows quickly.

"Come on," said Luciana, her hands in her pockets, as soon as Elira had finished putting up the pillows. She motioned to the door in the back. "That's what we call the 'Talk Room'." She and Elira laughed as Luciana pushed open the door for Elira.

The sight was pleasant. A few girls were there, giggling about something. The door was open and the pleasant air was coming in. All of them had hot cocoas in their hands.

One of the girls looked up. "Luciana! Hello! Who's that?" she asked, as she shot a look at Elira, who was next to Luciana.

"This is our new cabin member, Elira Brown, Fin," Luciana said as she smiled at Elira, who gave a tight smile and waved a little.

"This is Finley Walter, Esmeree Northum, Vanessa Farrow, Talia Fallow, Victoria Roger, Cassandra Delthan, Scarlett Cassi β€” wait, where's Ivy?" Luciana looked at each of them.

"Last time I saw her, she got a detention from Professor Darryl 'cause she accidentally hit someone from Cabin Three with her golf stick when they told her that she was holding the golf stick wrong," Scarlett said as she chuckled. "That girl's got guts, that's for sure."

"Good for her," Finley muttered, "as long as she doesn't get us detention too, we've already got to clean the damn cafe after dinner."

"So... where is she?" Cassandra asked Scarlett and Finley.

Both of them shrugged and drank their hot cocoas.

Luciana sighed as if she was trying to control her anger. She turned to Elira and then back to the others. "Let's go, we're supposed to give Elira a camp tour," she said.

"That's amazing!" Victoria said as she giggled. "Let's go to the -"

"Battle arena first," Finley said, boredly.

"There's a battle arena?" Elira asked, a little alarmed.

"Fin just likes to call it that. It's more of a practice arena, don't worry, but it does have some really dangerous stuff," Vanessa said as she eyed Finley.

"Well, let's go and then try to find Ivy," Luciana said as everyone got up.

~~~
"This is the cafe," Scarlett said as she pointed to a huge hall. "Everyone eats here. Breakfast's at eight, so in an hour, lunch is at one, and dinner's at eight."
"Yup, I think that's quite easy to know," whispered Finley. "I mean, doesn't it make sense?"
"And then that's the pharmacy. The pharmacist, Nurse Fleming, is a kind person, she'll treat you like that," Victoria continued as she smiled and snapped her fingers.
"And then - IVY! There you are, you freaked me out!" Luciana said as a thin girl with light-colored hair and light-colored eyes appeared next to her, panting.
"Oh, I got detention. We've got to clean up the cafe two nights now," the girl called Ivy panted, as she looked up at the faces of her cabinmates.
"You did not," Finley groaned.
"Ivy," Alexis said as she stamped her foot down. "Why did you have to hit the person from Cabin Three because they told you that you held your golf stick wrong?"
Esmeree sighed. "Just - can't you control your anger?"
Cassandra swore under her breath a little and then piped up, "Okay, sounds terrible. Thanks a ton, Ives."
Victoria and Vanessa had the same reactions, both of them had turned around and sighed loudly.
Talia shook her head and muttered, "Alright," very sourly.
Scarlett just whispered to Elira, "See? Told you, she's got guts."
Elira just stood there, as if she was not understanding a word.
"Okay!" Luciana said, the loudest of all. All the cabinmates turned to her. She sighed before continuing, "Ivy, Alexis, Scarlett, Cassandra, Finley, Talia, and Esmeree you all are coming with me to Professor Darryl's office. Victoria and Vanessa, you both get to give Elira a tour."
After Ivy, Alexis, Scarlett, Cassandra, Finley, Talia, Esmeree, and Luciana had hurried away, Victoria and Vanessa showed Elira the practice arena.
"So, we've got the archery, the rock climbing, the duel, the sword fighting -" Victoria counted off of her fingers.
"And what I like to call, 'the up to date fighting'," Vanessa said as she pointed at the few students trying to hit each other, but with gadgets, Elira never knew existed.
"Wow," Elira said as she perched over the fence of the practice arena. "It's amazing."
"Yup," Victoria and Vanessa said as they both smiled behind her.
"Anyway, c'mon Elira, we've got to get your schedule, and then we've got to continue the tour," Vanessa said.
"And her gadgets," added Victoria.
"What gadgets?" Elira asked as they all walked towards a small building.
"Gadgets that you'll need to protect yourself, of course," Vanessa said.
"And, one more thing, where are we? As in, are we in Britain still?" Elira asked, looking from Vanessa to Victoria.
"No, we're not in Britain," Victoria said as they both chuckled. "We're near Iceland."
Elira took some time to digest this all.
Just as she was about to speak again, there was a sharp yell, "NESSA! VIC! LOOK OUT!"
Vanessa, Victoria, and Elira turned as three boys hurried down their lane, one boy almost jamming into Vanessa.
"Stop it!" Victoria said she grabbed one boy's shoulder. "Can't you lay off us for a second?"
"We have - who're you? Which cabin?" one boy asked Elira.
"Excuse me, don't say that!" snapped Vanessa to the boy. "She's the recruit -"
"Can she speak?" the boy continued.
"I can," Elira said coldly.
"Well, I don't see why you can't talk then," muttered the boy.
"I'm Elira Brown, Cabin Six," Elira said.
"Liam Bedford, Cabin Sixteen," the boy said.
"James Manchester," added another boy.
"And Adam Lock," the last boy said.
"Can't you get to your cabin?" Victoria yelped at Ed. "All of you! Go!"
As all of them hurried away, Elira asked, "Are they in our cabin? But they said Cabin Sixteen?" She stared at Vanessa to Victoria.
"See, we have ten girl cabins and ten boy cabins. One boy cabin and one girl cabin make up, a group. So, cabin six, and cabin sixteen are one group," Vanessa said.
"Yeah," Victoria said as a slight breeze went past them. "We're unfortunately with them."
Vanessa opened the door of the dark grey building. It was warm inside with a receptionist at the desk, typing some keys.
"Miss Hudspeth," Victoria and Vanessa said as the receptionist looked up, smiling.
"Vanessa, Victoria, and you must be Elira Brown," the receptionist who Victoria and Vanessa had called Miss Hudspeth, said. "Welcome to Camp Wolfhead. I'm Akimi Hudspeth, the receptionist. What can I do for you today, girls?"
"We came for Elira's schedule," Victoria said.
"Right, here it is," Miss Hudspeth said as she held out her hand with a paper to Elira, who received it, kindly. "Well, enjoy your morning!"
"Thanks, Miss Hudspeth," all of them said as they headed out.
Elira looked at her schedule. Vanessa and Victoria were looking over her shoulder.
"Wow," Elira said. "That's a ton."
"Yeah. Ooh look, we've got Mortal Studies together!" Victoria said as she clapped her hands. "Mortal Studies is basically what you learn in the normal school before you came to Camp," she explained as Elira looked confused at her.
"Ooh, we've got Robotics and Gadgets together," Vanessa said, looking at the schedule.
Elira smiled at each of them.
"So, next, we're going to get your coursebooks from the library," Vanessa said as she pointed at another building next to the front office. "And then we have to go and eat."
The library was warm. The rugs were pale green, the ladders were wooden and students were looking for books on them, and the tables were dark yellow.
"Miss Greggains!" Victoria said loudly.
A crowd of voices said, "SHHH!"
"Oh right," Victoria whispered. "Sorry!"
Vanessa, Victoria, and Elira made their way to the desk, where a woman with grey hair with red glasses perched over her eyes sat. She was wearing a red cardigan and a small hat, drinking her coffee and reading a magazine.
"Excuse me, Miss Greggains?" whispered Vanessa as she tapped lightly on the desk. "Um . . . its Vanessa Farrow."
The woman called Miss Greggains looked up. "Yes yes, I know who you are, Miss Farrow. Hello, Miss Roger. And this must be Elira Brown. Coursebooks?" she asked Vanessa and Victoria.
They both nodded. Miss Greggains bent down to pick up a stack of books that were lightly colored and a small backpack that had stars lightly imprinted on it. She put the stack of books in the backpack.
"Miss Brown, this is for you," she said as she gave it to Elira. "Good day, Cabin Six."
"Can we get out some books?" Elira asked Miss Greggains. Vanessa and Victoria shot her a look.
Miss Greggains seemed to smile. "Of course. Any type of genre you're looking for?" she asked as she stood up. "Come on. Do you both want any books?" She asked Vanessa and Victoria, as both of them shook their heads.
"Any type of space books," Elira said as Miss Greggains walked down an aisle.
"Of course, of course. Astrophysics for People in a Hurry? Have you read that by Neil deGrasse Tyson?" Miss Greggains asked.
"I've read that book," Elira said as she chuckled a little. "But could I still have it?"
Miss Greggains took the book and placed it in her arm. "Bookworm, I see. A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking?" She asked as she stopped.
"Okay," Elira said as Miss Greggains held the book.
Miss Greggains and Elira came back, with a lot of books. Miss Greggains checked out the books.
"Woah," Victoria said as she saw the huge stack of books. "Do you - want help or something?" She stared at the pile of books, unbelieved.
"Yes please," grunted Elira.
Both Victoria and Vanessa took a few books.
"What books do you have?" Vanessa asked as Miss Greggains waved at them as they were going outside.
"Let's head back," Elira said as a huge gust of wind blew when they were outside. "I don't think it's going to be warm anymore."
"Yeah," Victoria said as they all shivered.
As they all were walking towards their cabin, there was an ear-piercing sound. A yell.Β
