CHAPTER 4
"What are we going to do?" Ziera asked, worry written on her forehead since her eyebrows were creased and there was fear in her eyes.
Ryker looked at the Six. His gaze lingered on each one of them. He looked at Glaze, the Cyborg who stood across him, a massive frown on his face, his left eye looking redder than ever as the wheels turned in his head.
He looked at Ditrix, his eyes were closed, his head on the wall as he sat in the floor, listening in for the rushed footsteps of the Apex. They were getting closer.
Ryker then moved his gaze to Dragha, whose eyes were already on his own. His left eye was a golden colour while his right a bright green. He searched Ryker's gaze, trying to figure him out but his walls were up and locked tight.
Faby licked his lips when Ryker turned to his, already sensing that something was about to happen but he wasn't sure if it was a good this or a bad thing. The hairs on the back of his neck stood and he got his answer. He frowned.
Secile met Ryker's gaze head on, never being one to look away as she too tried to peer into his head, but like the many times she had tried, the result was the same. Ryker's walls were too strong for her to break through. Her completely black eyes held a look in them that Ryker had no time to place.
Finally, Zeira. She refused to look at him because she suspected what he was about to do. She licked her lips and brought her lower one between her teeth to prevent it from shaking as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. Ryker gritted his teeth and peeked from the wall, his eyes on the door that lead to the roof.
He licked his lips and looked at Ditrix, his famous frown on his face,
"Where are they?" He asked, his voice deeper than usual.
Ditrix opened his maroon coloured eyes and held Ryker's gaze,
"You're not thinking about-"
"Where, Ditrix." Ryker said, cutting him off.
He was quiet for a while, his hair and the necklace around his neck blowing with the wind. He sighed and looked away,
"A few blocks from this building." He answered, gritting his teeth, "you shouldn't do this, Ryker."
Five pairs of eyebrows furrowed as eyes watched the two. Ryker looked at Glaze, who nodded, understanding what he meant. He was to be in charge after this. The Cyborg looked away, gritting his teeth just as Ditrix did.
"They're in." The maroon eyed boy said.
Ryker stood up straight and nodded.
"Go. I'll lead them the other way." He said.
No one made a move for a whole two minutes, all of them reluctant to leave Ryker, because they knew he'd let them catch him. Ditrix stood up from the ground and looked at Ryker who meet his gaze with a frown of his own.
Ditrix stepped forward and wrapped his arms around his idols' shoulder, his jaw clenched tight, before he pulled away and ran off. Glaze did the same, running into the direction Ditrix had gone. As did Dragha and Faby. Secile stepped forward before Zeira and wound her arms around his neck, pulling herself against him, bring her face on his neck.
"Be safe, Ryker. We will meet again soon." She said and lifted her head, her black eyes searching his before she brought her lips onto his own pink ones.
Ryker stilled and stood there frozen as she moved against him, a frown still on his face even when she pulled away reluctantly, this time, her eyes shining with admiration.
"I owe you my life." She said.
She then stepped back almost hesitantly and smirked before she ran off after the boys.
Ryker then looked at Zeira, his eyes seeming to grow even more intense as he watched her sob and try to hide it.
He let out a sigh and stepped towards her, pulling her hands from her eyes causing her to lift her gaze to meet his own hardened one.
"I am not worth your tears, Zeira. Go. I will be back." He said.
She sniffled and shocked him by throwing her arms around him and crushing her lips onto his. Ryker almost groaned but held back and once again stilled.
Once she pulled away, her tears were long forgotten and in its replacement was a smile that reached her eyes. Ryker's eyes searched hers before he nodded,
"Go and join the others."
"I am in love with you Ryker."
"Ziera-." He begun, his fist clenched.
"No, I have to say it. I don't know if you'll return to us or not, but I just want you to know that I do. I know you aren't so big on love, but I don't care, I just wish I had the courage to have told you how I feel about you sooner. Maybe then things would have been different. Promise me you will return. Promise me I will see you again."
He nodded, his jaw clenched, "You will. Now go." He said.
She hesitated but forced her feet to move; to run from the one man that she felt safe to be with. Pumping her feet, she quickened her pace before she took a huge leap and landed on the rooftop of the building next to the one her love was on.
She crouched behind a platform long and wide enough to hide all six of them. Ditrix kept his gaze ahead, watching as Ryker made his way to the door that lead to and out of the roof disappearing into it.

"Whoa." Faby said, his gaze roaming around the abandoned building. Next to the mansion was a block of apartment along both sides of the snow-covered road. They were abandoned. The Six walked into the mansion only to discover that it was fully furnished but covered in dust, cobwebs and bugs crawling everywhere.
With some serious dusting as well as hard scrubbing -especially in the kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathrooms- the house would look as good as new in no time. Glaze let out a huff and pursed his lips pausing for a moment before he spoke up,
"Alright. I guess this is where we'll be staying for a while. Let's get to cleaning." He said and everyone set out to see what they can find to use in the massive task.
A few minutes later, they reunited and Glaze assigned them to different sections of the house. Ziera, Faby and Dragha were to clean upstairs while Ditrix, Secile and himself worked downstairs. Glaze headed to the kitchen first and opened up the tall fridge.
His nose scrunched up as he saw the rotting contents inside of it which had already turned green with molds and maggots on the food. He gagged.
There weren't any gloves so he used the alternative of cleaning it up using a plastic bag -which were probably used for the garbage bins- he found in one of the many drawers and wrapped it around his wrist tight to prevent him from touching the decaying mess.
It took him longer than expect to clean the mess up but the wait was worth it. Dumping the little piece of clothing he used to wipe the inside of the fridge inside the bucket of water fetched from a still working faucet in the back garden, he got on his feet and took of his self-made gloves and dropped them in the bigger plastic bag that had all the rotten food in it.
He then carried the trash after he tied it into a knot and walked past the almost clean dining room and the living room which was still in progress.
Secile was dusting off the black leather couches after she'd wiped the coffee table set clean with a piece of cloth and the shelf next to the TV as well as the top of the fireplace. She had also wiped the dust on the massive 16 inch Flat screen TV hang on the wall right above the fire place.
Ditrix was mopping the floor after he was done with the dining room, helping her out because of the huge amount of dust that had been in the room.
Glaze came back and made his way into the kitchen. He dumped the water from the bucket out onto the sink before he turned the faucet on and cleaned it up.
He then opened up all the cupboards and drawers, took out all the dishes and placed them on the counter below or above them before he wiped off the dishwasher and filled it with dishes to the max, waiting as he cleaned up the cupboards and the drawers.
Once done, he organised the dishes back into the cupboard and put dirtier dust filled dishes into the dishwasher. The process went on for a while.
Put, wipe, organise.
Eventually, he cleaned all the dishes -cutlery included- and got to wiping the inside part of the window, wanting to deal with the outside part later.
He washed his little cloth for the hundredth time before he wiped the counter clean as well the microwave and the stove that was fit between it, even wiping the oven after washing the cloth once again.
He huffed and looked around, satisfied with his handy work. Grabbing the bucket, he walked back to the dining room and the now sparkling living room to the main door. He walked towards the back, having ignored the door in the kitchen that led directly to where he was going.
He approached the faucet and washed up the bucket before putting it back where he had found it. He then noticed a pipe laying about next to the closed door leading to the kitchen and went for it an idea crossing his head.
He fixed it up to the faucet and turned it on, holding the other end of the long pipe which was pointing to the kitchen window. He sprayed the jet of water on it and watched as the dust cleared from the window and grinned, seeing the inside of the room almost clearly.
He did the same for all the other windows around the house. Once done, he turned the water off and folded the pipe into a coil before he put it next to the bucket and walked back into the mansion.
Ditrix made himself busy and was apparently mopping the kitchen floors for Glaze -a frown on his face as he got lost in his own thoughts.
Glaze went upstairs to see the other's progress. There were exactly nine rooms in the Manson. All of the on the same floor different hallways. The stairs were divided into two, which branched to the left and to the right, each leading to the rooms that were divided on both sides. Right in the middle of them was a balcony that looked like layers of the wall had been cut off to make it possible. A black object Glaze hasn't seen before rested at the middle bottom of the staircase, but it wasn't time to worry about the harmless object as he went up the steps two at a time.
He choose to go right first and as he turned, he saw Ziera cleaning the stairs with a cloth that looked more like someone's shirt with an absentminded look on her face. Glaze pursed his lips and wondered what Ryker would do.
He licked his lips and frowned,
"Are you alright?" He asked, startling her.
She sniffled and refused to lift her gaze,
"Yes, I'm fine." She lied, going back to her cleaning.
Glaze held her gaze longer than required,
"There's nothing we could have done to stop him, Ziera. You know how he gets." He said sitting next to her on the fourth last step.
"I know but-."
She trailed off and looked up at Glaze, his red eye contrasting his brown one. He let out a huff and wrapped his arms around her, seeing her flushed, red face and the remnants of tears on her cheeks and eyes.
She hugged him back, sobbing on his shoulder as he mumbled on and on about how he'd come back and how they had to be strong for him and do their part.
Glaze was always like a brother to her. She was closest to him and he was the only one who knows about her feelings for Ryker.
"I miss him already." She said.
"He'll be back. This is Ryker we're talking about." Glaze said grinning.
"Now enough brooding and let's get to cleaning, yeah?"
That got a small smile from her as she pulled away from him and nodded. Glaze got on his feet and went ahead to check out the other's progress.
