【CHAPTER NINE】
►DANCE

Their eyes were on her.

(Y/N) furrowed her eyebrows as she twist and turned in her bed, having a feeling she was being watched. Her chest rose up and down before she let out a soft gasp, her eyes snapping open and jolted up, her hand over her chest.

Her eyes scanned across the room, landing on a pair of painted red eyes on a mask staring right at her. She sat up and turned to switch her light on. Once she turned back to the figure, it was gone. She let out a sigh, rubbing her temples.

I must be dreaming, she thought to herself, her breathing returning to its normal rhythm. She turned to see both April, Michelangelo, and Leonardo lying on opposite sides of the bed, with Leonardo being closest to the (H/C) haired woman. After the incident with Baxter, all four decided to sleep together after (Y/N) had finished visiting the Stockboy family.

She sighed, running her fingers through her hair, letting her unicorn onesie hood fall off.

She turned over to her nightstand to turn her lamp off, making sure not to wake up April or the two turtle brothers, only to find a small black box with a paper note on top of it. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise, reluctantly reaching for it.

She slowly opened it. Inside, there were a pair of earrings. Black veil spider earrings. She examined them before grabbing the note, reading;

Her eyes narrowed (finding the name she was given rather weird), looking up from the note to examine her room once more. Specifically where she was the figure standing a while ago.

Frida, she thought to herself. Perhaps she just came in to leave this gift.

(Y/N) lied back down after putting her gift back in her nightstand and turning off the light, immediately after, she was pulled into Leonardo's embrace, his face nuzzling into her neck. He let out a sigh, his warm breath hitting her skin.

She rolled her eyes and wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. Leonardo shifted, his head moving closer to her face, noses almost touching. He slowly breathed in the air she exhaled, a smile appearing on his face.

"I want to go home.." (Y/N) muttered to herself as she waited in front of April's school.

April thought it would be a good idea to wear matching dresses, and (Y/N) reluctantly agreed. So now both women wore yellow dresses, although (Y/N)'s was a bit more gold-like. She also figured to wear the earrings Big Mama and Frida had gifted her.

"Donde esta-"

"(Y/N)!" April exclaimed, jumping onto (Y/N) with a smile. She was caught off guard, but was used to her friends jumping onto her like this by now.

"Hola, Abril." She greeted and hugged her in return, her hands sliding around her waist. April felt her face flush from this act of affection and decided to make the most of it.

Unfortunately, she had her classmates Dave following behind her. "Hey! You must be April's friend. Nice to meet you!"

(Y/N) looked over at him with a stoic expression, causing him to sweat-drop. He chuckled nervously. "Let's go to the dance now.."

"Right!" April smiled, disappointed by the fact interrupted the once rare moment (Y/N) was finally being affectionate. And sadly, the (H/C) haired girl had let her go to go inside. April sighed, walking over to her side so she could lead the way since (Y/N) would forget where she was going.

The cafeteria doors opened and inside was a dark room with only purple and blue lights lighting up the place barely. All students eyes were focused on their electronics, no emotion reflected from their faces.

(Y/N) narrowed her eyes, her gut sending her a message saying something isn't right. But, April looked so happy at the moment. Seeing a depressed April just doesn't sit right with (Y/N), so she decided to wave off her worries.

For now.

"Taylor Martin..." April whispers to herself, a smile growing on her face. A blonde woman smiling towards the three. She was actually not bad looking, but she didn't exactly give off the best vibes. April waved over at her excitedly before taking hold of (Y/N)'s hand, dragging her over to the "cool kids" table.

"April, Dale! So glad you came." Taylor laughed a bit, looking up from her phone to the two invited guests. She then looked over at April's plus one. Her eyes lit up, a smile creeping onto her face. "Oh, and you must be Aprils plus one! It's so nice to meet you. And if I may say, you look gorgeous, my dear! You are slaying that dress!"

"Slaying? But I'm not killing anyone?" (Y/N) replied a bit unsure, tilting her head a bit to the side as Taylor held both her hands. April looked between the two of them, a burning sensation growing in the middle of her chest, a sense of jealousy.

April quickly pulled (Y/N) away from Taylor with a forced smile upon her face. The moment was ruined when a boy who was named; Seigal, walked past you four with his bet lizard on his shoulders.

"Lizard boy." April shuddered.

"Sit!" Taylor forced all three guests to sit down at the cool kids table with a smile before sitting down herself right next to (Y/N), holding her hands. "We were all just talking about the most amazing game, Hippo Crush!"

"So fun." Everyone stared at the three guests as they spoke, their voices sounding almost robotic.

"Have you played it yet?" Taylor asked, her body leaning forward between April and (Y/N), with April being the nervous wreck, but trying to keep it cool.

"I've been meaning to download it." April lied, pulling her phone out to look for the game.

"How are we gonna be besties if you don't have the game?" Taylor asked, watching (Y/N) struggle to get use her phone. Taylor had her hand over (Y/N)'s arm, slowly sliding down to her hand. Taylor tried helping her out, but was cut off by Dale.

"Got it!" He exclaimed, showing the game in his phone. April scrolled through her phone and found the game. Her eyes lit up as she pressed the download button. Slowly it want up to a hundred percent. Until—

"Donnie says no, no, no!" A Donnie-blocker appears on her screen, catching April off guard. She looked around and everyone played the game apart from (Y/N). She got up and grabbed (Y/N)'s wrist, pulling her with her "Would you excuse me for a second?" April excused herself from Taylor, leaving the room before Taylor could protest.

April immediately dialed Donatellos phone number, using (Y/N)'s phone since hers was still with the Donnie-blocker.

"You are conversing with Donatello, Fair (Y/N)?" Donatello answered the phone, almost sweetly. His face almost immediately fell when he heard the voice who was actually calling him.

"What is a Donnie blocker?!" April questioned, with (Y/N) standing beside her. Mayhem had teleported in front of her. She quickly sat down on the ground and let the agent lay in her arms comfortably.

"I put it on your phone so you wouldn't be hacked or download anything with malware because I know how much you're into fantasy—"

"The only thing Donnie's blocking is April from being cool!" She snapped, ending the call at once.

Her ears perked when she heard a familiar chirp. She turned to see Mayhem being pet by (Y/N), lying on her lap. April's voice became softer. "What are you doing here? I told you to go! Cool kids don't bring their pets to school. Do you want people to pick on me?"

"I think you're cool." (Y/N) muttered, looking over at her.

April let out a gasp as the doors were slammed open, both girls turning to see what was happening, while Mayhem teleported away. Everyone in the party came out in a single line, all of them heading to a different location as they stared down at their phones.

"Is the dance already over?" April asked confused, but was completely ignored.

"No, it's too early." (Y/N) whispered to her, her hand over April's shoulder.

April nodded in agreement before her eyes landed on Dale who was also in line and jogged to him, whispering. "Dale, what's going on? Hey, did Taylor tell us to go somewhere?" She asked, still being ignored. "Cool, cool, cool. We're coming."

"Did you get the game, April?" Dale asked with a creepy smile as the students behind him dragged him away. "We could play together."

"Not yet." She sighed. "Someone installed a--"

April yelped when a hand landed on her shoulder, and not a good one. (Y/N) grabbed the wrist of the stranger and turned to see it was Taylor, who had an unsettling grin on her face. "April. Did you get the game?"

"I-totally got it." April lied through her teeth, watching Taylor hold the (H/C) haired woman's hand with an innocent smile. She couldn't even pull away because Taylor's grip was strong.

"Can I see it?" Taylor asked, letting go of (Y/N), which she quickly stood behind April, not wanting to be near the blonde girl.

(Y/N) threw both her and April's phone into the ground, with April letting out a gasp. That was the new phone (Y/N) had bought and cost god knows how much money. The young bounty hunter turned to Taylor "Oh no, our phones...they're broken."

"But the game is so fun!" April smiled forcefully as Taylor walked past them. April then turned to (Y/N), frustrated and whispered angrily. "My phone!"

"I'll buy you another one."

"You better."

April followed behind Taylor. (Y/N) looked above the lockers to find Mayhem standing there, gazing over the students suspiciously. He looked over at (Y/N) and both had the same thought. She gestures with her hand for him to go and get some help, to which Mayhem nods to and teleports away

"Everyone, give it up for the master magician, and inventor of Hippo Crush." A voice was heard on stage, only a small like hat on the ground before a smoke surrounded it and revealed Hypno-potamus. "Ta-da! Hypno-potamus!"

(Y/N) slowly slid down her chair to hide behind the chairs in front of her, a sense of embarrassment coursing through her veins from the memory of last time they ran into each other.

April stared down at her confused, but was more concerned about the mutant villain on stage. "Mutant hippo?"

"Hypno is great." Everyone in the audience chanted robotically.

(Y/N) pulled April down and placed a finger over her mouth, signaling to be quiet. Both girls make their way past the students feet, trying to get to the exit.

As Hypno-potamus was about to preform his magic trick of how he'd make the mascot disappear, his ears twitched at the sound of a door rattle. "Wait, wait a minute, something's not quite right."

The spotlight was shining on both (Y/N) and April, who were both frozen in place as they were caught trying to escape. April gasped quietly, cursing the school doors for being so loud.

"And where do you think you're going, missy?" Hypno-potamus asked, annoyed that his performance was being interrupted. He noticed (Y/N), pointing at her, his annoyance growing. "You again? What are you doing here, Miss?!"

"We want to serve you." Both (Y/N) and April monotonously replied at the same time before looking at each other.

"Ah, forget it." April broke character and rolled her eyes. "That was whack."

"But that was my normal voice?" April shushed her friend and grabbed her by the arm to make an escape. "No, seriously. What's wrong with my voice?"

Both Leonardo and Raphael were teleported by Mayhem to April's school, falling onto the ground. Raphael got up, rubbing his head. "I hate poofing."

"Wait a minute, this is April's school." Leonardo realized as he looked around, noticing the homecoming banner hanging. He then turned to his older brother. "She's the one in trouble, and it's homecoming. April invited (Y/N) too, which means she's also in danger! We gotta go high school stealth."

"Yeah!" Raphael grinned, high-three-ing his brother.

Both brothers dressed up in school athletic uniforms. Raphael dressed up as a football player and Leonardo had dressed up as a basketball player, a basketball spinning on his finger. Mayhem decided to join as well, dressing up as a cheerleader.

"Okay, let's split and find April and (Y/N)." Raphael explained the plan before Leonardo interrupted him.

"Okay, I'll look for (Y/N) then!" Leonardo grinned.

"Listen!" Raphael sighed. "Let's split and find April and (Y/N), then--"

"Ah! He's so cute!" Leonardo cut him off once more, picking up Mayhem from the ground. And Mayhem very much did not enjoy being touched by him, much less picked up. "Take a picture, here, take a picture!"

Raphael cooed, pointing at Mayhem with a smile. "That is cute."

Both April and (Y/N) entered an empty classroom, with (Y/N) slamming the door shut. April ran towards a long desk and pushed it in front of the table before both girls ran off to hide at a small closet, both girls' chests pressed against each other.

Taylor looked over through the door's window and then knocked the door open with her foot. She came in, smiling creepily with two boys standing behind her.

"April, it's your B.F.F, Taylor. I just wanna hang." She sang quietly, looking around the room. "You too, (Y/N). How about a date?"

Her eyes landed on two figures in the dark in front of her. She walked over to them with the two others who accompanied her. She reached her hands out to them.

Two plastic skeletons turned to her to which she screamed at a bit before realizing what it was. She turned to see both (Y/N) and April running out the classroom. Taylor felt her frustration grow and yelled. "Get her!"

April and (Y/N) get chased by the other three. April quickly opens a locket and enters it, pulling (Y/N) inside with her. The door was locked shut, and rather...

Awkward.

It was extremely tight and April had her face on the girl's chest, and couldn't really move her face out of the way. (Y/N) only looked down at her, wondering if she's breathing alright. Barely, but April wasn't complaining.

(Y/N) opened the locker door as soon as Taylor and the other two were out of view. She walked out of the locker, looking both ways before gesturing April to come out. April came out as well and found a small top hat with an hourglass inside.

"What's this do?" April asked, crouching down a bit to take a look. The hourglass starts to glow a bright magenta color and electricity starts cackling around it. She let out a gasp as her eyes widen.

She immediately grabbed (Y/N) and pulled her away from it, both of them falling onto the ground and saw the hat sucking up the lockers.

"He's gonna make us all disappear!" April turned to (Y/N) with a panicked face. "Permanently!"

"Let it take me."

"No!"

"Get them." Taylor returned, pointing at both woman as the two boys behind her started chasing them. Both (Y/N) and April running away from them.

"Hypno is great."

That's what both girls hear the students at this school chanting over and over again. All of them surrounded themselves two girls with their phone screens facing at them. Dave stepped forward, looking over specifically at April.

"Join us. Play the game. Be cool. I love you." He whispered the last part.

"Dale, You're so hypnotized you'd say anything!" April cried, holding onto (Y/N)'s arm.

"No, no, he's saying the truth." (Y/N) muttered, sensing his aura. April stared at her, and (Y/N) immediately got the message. "Right, not the time."

"Join us." Dale smiled at them. "Disappear with us."

(Y/N) looked around, unable to go anywhere or look anywhere. April's eyes slowly turned pink, along with (Y/N)'s eyes, which she tried closing, but was unable to. She felt something land on her head. She looked up to see Mayhem on her head. She pulled April close to her. "Mayhem, take us out of here."

He chirped, teleporting the three of them away. Once they weren't surrounded, April hugged Mayhem close, as well as (Y/N) who didn't expect it. "Mayhem, you came back!"

Mayhem purred, rubbing his head on both women. April pulled away and smiled. "I'm so sorry about what h--"

Mayhem interrupted with a squeak, pointing his paw behind the girls. Both of them looked behind them, finding the students just standing there and staring at them.

"Ni cagando. Yo no me quedo aquí." (Y/N) got up, lifting April up bridal style and running away as the rest of the students chased them down.

"Mayhem!" April called out, holding onto the mystic creature. "Now would be a good time to poof us outta here!"

(Y/N) carried them both in her arms, turning sharply around the corner, only to see it surrounded by students. She turned back around to see more of them. (Y/N) backed up to the lockers once more, putting April down, but holding her close to her chest to prevent her from seeing the screens.

Mayhem tried teleporting them out, but was too exhausted to do so. (Y/N) frowned a bit. "It's fine agent. You've tried your best. Guess I'll have to kill them all--"

"No." April scolds.

"Aw."

"Tally-ho!" A vehicle crashed through the wall above, swirling around the floor before it stopped, revealing both Raphael and Leonardo inside the vehicle, wearing athletic attire. "Oh, is this AP Bio?"

Raphael stepped on the pedal, making his way to April and (Y/N) with a determined expression. April and (Y/N) got in, placing Mayhem on her lap. "Drive!"

Raphael drove again, looking around. "Where's the exit?"

"No, we can't leave!" April exclaimed, looking over at him. "Hypno's gonna make the school disappear!"

"Another school is gonna disappear?" Leonardo laughs, holding (Y/N) on his lap as she pets Mayhem's head. He won't say it out loud, but he's really wishing you were giving him that affection to him instead of Mayhem. "These magicians are out of control!"

"That mutant hippo's got doom-hats hidden all over the school, but it's gonna be fine. I've got a plan." April grins.

Raphael stepped on the breaks, the vehicle coming to an immediate halt. April took control of the wheel as Leonardo and Raphael got down, although the brother in blue hesitated for a moment.

"You've gotta break Hypno's spell and free all my friends!" April explained. All three of her friends, plus Mayhem quietly stared at her blankly. She sighed. "Okay, acquaintances. Just free everybody!"

(Y/N) gripped onto the vehicles seats as April stepped on the gas pedal, both of them speeding off.

Both (Y/N) and Mayhem grabbed two long sticks from the back of the vehicle, holding it up to grab all of the small top hats that Hypno-potamus had put up on the lockers., piling them up in the back of the vehicle. Mayhem grew tired eventually and lied back on (Y/N)'s lap.

April accidentally hit the locker with the vehicle, catching (Y/N) and Mayhem off guard. They tired screeching against the floor and swerving immensely. She eventually managed to get the vehicle under control and turned to look over at (Y/N) and Mayhem who both seemed terrified by April's driving skills.

April looked back in front of her to see the two previous boys that were worth Taylor blocking the exit. She panicked and yelled at them. "Move out the way!"

They didn't listen. (Y/N) turned to see the hats starting to glow a bright magenta color. She turned to April. "We have to do something."

Mayhem jumped over at the hats and teleported himself and the top hats away. (Y/N)'s eyes widen and turned forward. "Keep going."

"But I'm gonna hit them!"

"No you won't. They're cowards." She answered, making sure April keeps going over to the exit. Both boys moved out of the way as soon as they realized she wasn't stopping.

They were now outside, looking above them to see Mayhem had teleported Hypno and the top hats above, all of them facing the mutant hippopotamus. The magic activated and Hypno disappeared.

Both April and (Y/N) slowly drove towards Taylor, with April smiling nervously. The engine sputtered and the vehicle broke down. Mayhem teleported back to both girls, snuggled up between them. April smiled gratefully and hugged the mystic creature she called her friend. (Y/N) decided to join the hug as well, which April accepted immediately.

Taylor grunts, frustrated with April as she pointed at her. "You and your ugly cat destroyed my float, O'Neil!"

With that, Taylor sashays away from them. (Y/N) slowly rose her arm with a small knife she had kept in her pocket, and April slowly brought her hand down. Mayhem chattered, snuggling close to both women once more.

Dale walked over to them, smiling nervously with a very noticeable blush, scratching the back of his neck. "So, April, if you uh—you know, don't have a date to the next shindig, I—"

"Not now, Dale." April cut him off, wanting to make the most of (Y/N) rare affectionate moment.

"I'm sorry you didn't exactly have the dance you expected." (Y/N) muttered, wearing some pajamas with April now that they're at her place.

"It's fine." April sighed. "I just wish it went better, without the whole mutant hippo situation, y'know?"

"Yeah, I guess." (Y/N) replied, rubbing the back of her neck as she sat up. She looked over at April who stared at the television with a bored expression. She frowned lightly before looking at Mayhem. She passed her phone to Mayhem, giving him an expression he knew what it meant. Mayhem chirped, tapping on the phone and searching for something.

(Y/N) got up from the couch and walked over to April, staring down at her small figure. She extended her hand out to her. "May I have this dance?"

April's eyes widened for a moment, feeling a warm feeling pooling in her chest and her cheeks heating up. She smiled softly, taking her hand and getting up. "Yes you may."

Mayhem finally found what he was searching for on (Y/N)'s phone, tapping on the song. Amor: by Alta Elegancia, DannyLux.

(Y/N) placed her hand over April's waist and the other holding her hand. April had her hand over her shoulder, smiling as they both slow dance in the living room, gently swaying side to side with their bodies pressed together.

April closed her eyes as she leaned her head close to (Y/N)'s chest, both girls simply enjoying their night.

Nothing could be better than this.
