NAVYA RAGHUVANSHI, the best friend of the rising star and prince of Indian batting, Shubman Gill, was his close friend from childhood. They had been inseparable since they were kids. Ever since she stood up for him in front of his bullies at the age of five, the two did everything together—going to school, doing homework, getting caught sneaking cookies, studying for exams, and much more.

She was the first one to know when he was selected for the U-19 Indian team as vice-captain, and he was the first one to learn that she had been accepted into the London College of Communication for Graphic and Media Design.

They had shared feelings for each other for years, but despite their deep, close-knit friendship of nearly 13 years, they had never spoken about it. Navya wanted to tell him—she desperately did.

A few days before Shubman had to travel to Mumbai for training and she had to travel to London for her studies, the two met at their favourite spot: a place by a lake, under a huge banyan tree. Navya decided it was finally time to tell him. 

But then came a phone call, the panic on his face, and his assurance that he'd be back in literally 15 minutes.

She stayed. Twenty minutes went by. She called him, but he didn't pick up. She texted him, but he didn't reply. Forty minutes passed. An hour. Yet, she was still RIGHT WHERE HE HAD LEFT HER.
