𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞: 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞

❝ʏᴏᴜ ᴛᴀʟᴋ ᴛᴏᴏ ᴍᴜᴄʜ.❞

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 almost an hour now, the score between the two teams fluctuating. aurora had watched scott and stiles calm liam down multiple times, the boy getting angry whenever one of the devenford players pushed him with an extra amount of force for no reason. allison, malia, and lydia hadn't returned yet, which worried aurora. but she knew that if anything was to happen, they would be able to handle it herself. kira had been watching the game from her spot on the bench, a frown plastered on her face the whole time.

aurora snapped out of her thoughts just as liam went crashing to the ground, brett doing the same thing. without a second thought, she ran onto the field and over to the boy as a crowd started to form around him and brett. the sound of liam screaming is what made aurora run faster, joining stiles and scott since they were already there.

"okay, back off!" coach finstock yelled as he approached the scene. "back off!"

scott helped pulled liam up from the ground, aurora not seeing anything wrong with the dunbar boy. "how hard did you hit him?"

"i didn't. he hit me." liam panted, looking down to his left arm. it's bone was clearly broken, pushing against the skin of liam's arm.

"ow." stiles mumbled, looking away.

scott looked at aurora, silently asking her if she thinks that she can heal him. she shook her head, only being able to heal wounds and take away some diseases and illnesses from people. sadly, she wasn't able to heal broken bones. well, she probably could if the bone had broke through the skin. but we're getting to graphic here. sorry. scott nodded his head at her, slipping his gloves off before he gently placed his hands on liam's arm.

"close your eyes." he instructed.

liam did as told, not even questioning it. scott quickly put liam's bone back into place, a cracking noise echoing through the air as the beta wolf let out a small scream of pain. aurora patted the side of liam's helmet when scott had pulled his hands away, giving him a reassuring smile. but the sound of someone screaming pulled the quartet out of their little bubble, turning to see that it was brett. the referee and medic had his arms wrapped around their shoulders to hold him, slowly dragging the boy off of the field. the sound of something retracted caught the attention of scott and aurora, the hastings girl quickly grabbing onto scott's arm. they looked over at garrett, seeing the boy looking back at them.

"are you cut? did garrett cut you?" scott quizzed, looking back at liam in a panic.

"no, no. i'm okay." liam answered, looking down to make sure that he was telling the truth.

"then he missed." aurora mumbled, looking back at garrett. she realized that he wasn't looking at scott or herself. he was looking at liam.

"what do you mean?" liam questioned.

"you're the one he's after." aurora elaborated, turning to look at liam once again.

a timeout was called out so that the coaches could talk to their players. aurora, stiles, scott, and kira were all patiently waiting by the sidelines as they waited for liam to come back to them. scott had convinced the boy not to play for the rest of the game, which relieved aurora.

"i talked to coach. i'm out for the rest of the game." liam told everyone once he had joined them.

"what are you two gonna do?" kira asked, looking between aurora and allison.

"we don't know." scott shrugged, answering for himself and aurora. "something's still not right. we're missing something."

"guys." stiles called, making everyone look at him. "lydia just broke another third of the list."

"am i on it?" liam asked.

"no. but someone else is." stiles answered.

"who?" aurora asked, feeling the hairs on the back of neck stand up as goosebumps dotted her skin. "who's on the list, stiles?"

"brett."

"i knew it." aurora mumbled before she ran off.

"aurora!" scott called, but was ignored.

she ran across the field, heading towards the locker room since she knew that was where the medic took brett. she ignored the calls that were coming from coach finstock, asking where the hell she was going. but he was also ignored. all of the noise that was coming from the crowd faded out once she had entered the school. she slowed her pace so that her footsteps weren't so loud. she paused when she had seen the medic laying in the doorway of the locker room. she quickly made her way over to him, crouching down so that she could see if he was alive. she focused her hearing on his heart, the beating of it filling her ears. she then looked into the locker room, seeing brett laying on the floor.

she stood up, her stomach churning as a way to tell her that something was about to happen. she slowly entered the room and walked over to brett, getting ready to check if he was alive. but she didn't need to, the boy's eyes snapping open as he sucked in a deep breath. he look up at aurora, the hastings girl seeing the panic in them. but she didn't have any time to react, feeling something wrapping around her neck before a zippering sound filled her ears. aurora quickly brought her hands up to wrap around the wire that was trying to strangle her, squeezing her fingers between the wire and her throat. she let out a gasp as she struggled to breathe, trying to pull the wire away in a panic. a sizzling noise echoed through the air as the wire heated up, burning aurora's fingers.

"he said we shouldn't try. but now i've got you. i got an alpha/gamma hybrid." the voice of a girl spoke, tightening the wire around aurora's throat.

the panic and the anger flowing through aurora's blood tapped into her wolf, her eye's turning to that beautiful pink color as her jaw clenched. she dropped her left hand while her right hand easily pulled the wire away from her throat. as she pulled the wire away, she slowly turned around to look at who was trying to kill her, her vision turning red as the wire continued to burn her fingers. aurora felt a wave of contentment wash over as she saw the confusion and panic on the girl's face. the werewolf quickly pulled at the wire, snapping it in two as she used her left hand to grab at the girl's throat.

"you talk too much." aurora spoke, her voice sounding like a growl.

she tried to get her anger under control, but it was too late. her wolf had taken over. aurora had started to squeeze at the girl's throat, a cynical smile appearing on her lips as she heard the girl gasp for air. but aurora kept squeezing, watching as the girl's face started to turn red as a vein popped out of her forehead. everything in aurora's being was telling her to just keep going until she felt the girl's neck snap in her hand. she wanted to do it, wanting to make this person pay for trying to kill her. for killing any other supernatural being. and for wanting to kill anyone else who was on that stupid list. and she was gonna do it. but,

"aurora!" scott growled loudly, looking at the girl with wide eyes.

this pulled the hastings girl out of whatever trance she was in, her head snapping over to the door to see her two best friends, worry written all over their faces. aurora loosened her grip on the girl's throat as she looked back at her, but didn't let go. instead she pushed the girl into the tiled wall behind her, making sure that her head hit it so that she would knock out. and she did, making aurora let her go. she watched her fall to the floor before she took the thermo-cut wire from around her body, throwing it down to the floor.

"i think you better call you dad, stiles." aurora mumbled.

"yeah, that's probably a good idea." stiles nodded, pulling his phone out as he walked back down the hall.

scott watched him go before he turned back to look at aurora, seeing that she was looking down at the girl. "you okay?"

"i almost killed her." aurora said, looking at scott.

"but you didn't." scott reasoned as he walked over to her, stepping over the bodies.

aurora stayed silent for a few seconds, her eyebrows furrowed. "but i wanted to. i really wanted to kill her, scott."

scott nodded as he placed his hands on her shoulders, the hybrid looking at him. "but you didn't, rori. you didn't."

aurora nodded, trying to shake off the weird feeling that had taken over her. she felt scott wrap his arms around her, making her wrap her arms around his waist. the mccall boy kissed her forehead, knowing that she needed some type of comfort.

"this is how it was like for you when you first got bit?" aurora questioned, burying her face into his shoulder.

"yeah. one spike in my emotions, didn't matter if they were negative or positive, i'd lose control." scott nodded.

"does it get easier?"

"yeah, it does."

"what. . . how did you get it under control when allison broke up with you? because she was your anchor?" aurora quizzed.

"you gotta be your own anchor." scott shrugged.

"that's gonna be hard since i don't really like myself." aurora mumbled.

"well, until you start to like yourself again, pain makes you human." scott reminded. "or use someone else as your anchor."

"i'll try."

"he's on his way." stiles announced as he walked into the locker room. "what's going on here?"

"i'm hugging a very conflicted rori." scott answered.

"oh. mind if i join?" stiles asked.

"i'd be hurt if you didn't." aurora laughed.

stiles smiled, walking over to his two best friends before he wrapped his arms around them. aurora smile too, glad that she had the honor to call these two boys her best friends. to call them her brothers.
