Confrontation
GENEVIEVE STONE HAS NEVER FELT SO NERVOUS BEFORE. She is sure if she is still human, her palms would sweat. They are almost in the large clearing in the woods, hiding in the trees.
She takes a glance and sees her family and the Volturi in the middle of the field.
She looks at Nahuel and Huilen and gives them a small smile. She walks toward them and holds both of their hands, "If something goes wrong, I want you both to run and never look back."
Nahuel and Huilen look at each other and shake their heads, "Even if our journey together was short, I created a small bond with the two of you," Nahuel tells Genevieve and Alice.
"We will fight with you and your family," Huilen assures.
"Stay here until we give you a signal that it's good," Alice instructs. The two give her a nod.
Then Alice looks at her and says, "It's time, Gen."
"This should work," Genevieve says to Alice with a tight lip smile. Alice holds her hand and gives her a reassuring squeeze.
They begin to walk to the clearing. Genevieve takes an unnecessary deep breath as she tries to look straight forward, having a mental battle with herself that she should take a glance at her family, mostly Jasper.
Genevieve is sure if she just simply glanced at her fiancé, her intimidating facade would melt, and she is also sure that she'll only run towards her family, so she didn't dare to look.
"Ha!" Aro exclaims excitedly.
"Gen, Alice," she hears Edward mutter.
Jasper knew before they even made their presence known that Genevieve was here. It must have been the mate bond, and he tried to walk toward his mate; however, he was stopped by Emmet and Peter.
"Genevieve! Alice!" Aro exclaims with a large smile spreading across his features.
"My, my, Genevieve is here, after all. Come forward, my sweet child," Aro orders her as two guards grab both of her arms and drag her towards Aro, and make her kneel.
"We had a deal, Genevieve, that you'll be by my side if ever there is a fight to come," Aro states with a disgusting sweet voice, tucking a strand of her jet-black hair behind her ear.
"I only agreed to my freedom. It doesn't mean that I'll follow it," Genevieve smirks and looks at the witch twins beside Aro, who glares at her. She just rolls her eyes.
"We will spare you if you agree to be my wife, Genevieve," Caius suddenly spoke as he looked down at her, his platinum blond hair curtains his face.
She hears Jasper yelling no.
"Too late, Caius, I'm already a wife-to-be," Genevieve answers showing her ring finger.
"You fool!" Caius yells angrily as he walks straight toward her, grabbing her neck, and throwing her in the middle of the field. She landed perfectly safe.
However, she felt pain prickle on her skin, and she recognized this pain, a burning sensation that was almost close to the pain of changing. She felt as if her insides were on fire, as if the venom inside her body was boiling.
Alice is about to run towards her sister and help her, but two guards stop her. She doesn't see this, and she is worried.
She lets out a pained yell, clutching her body because of the pain, but the pain she feels suddenly stops, a sense of warmth and comfort, like a safety blanket, masked over her.
She looked at her family, confused. Edward read her thoughts and motioned his head towards his wife, who was clearly focusing on her. She mouthed a thank you and walked back towards Alice.
"Genevieve, please," She heard someone say. She looked back and saw her mate who was being held by a struggling Emmet and Peter.
"I love you, Jas," she whispers, and she knows he heard it. That was all Jasper needed as he calmed down.
"We have evidence the child won't be a risk to our kind," Alice tells them, and Aro looks at her curiously and suspiciously.
"Let me show you," Alice says as she loosens up the hold of the guards on her and walks towards Aro.
"Brother?" Caius asks Aro.
"It doesn't matter what I show you. Even when you see, you still won't change your mind," Alice said. She was furious and scared. She looked back at her family. She saw Bella looking at her. She whispered, "Now!"
Bella looks at her daughter, and Jacob "Take care of my daughter," as the wolf and Renesmee run toward the woods.
"Get them!" Caius yells to the guards
Genevieve is with Alice, and the two make eye contact and nod. Genevieve kicks Aro with her leg, sending him flying; however, he manages to land back down. He orders the guards to get a hold of the two.
"Take them away," Aro orders. Caius gives Genevieve a victorious look as two guards hold Alice and Genevieve.
"Let them go," Genevieve hears Carlisle as he runs towards Aro to attack. He and Aro meet each other mid-air. Aro lands back to the ground and turns toward the Cullens and the other witness, with Carlisle Cullen's head in his head.
Chaos breaks out as Genevieve struggles with the hold of the guards and immediately asks for the shadow's help.
The pain and grief that she was feeling are set aside. She sees Caius looking her straight in the eyes as he burns Carlisle's body. She hears Esme's pained screams.
The battle starts. Genevieve and the shadows battle with the other guards, beheading and burning their bodies immediately. She sees Alice struggling with Felix's hold. She summons the shadows to help her sister.
She hears a pained yell that gets her attention. She sees Jasper kneeling with Jane at his front. Genevieve immediately summoned the shadows to help Jasper.
She also sees Bella trying to use her gift, she tries her best to run faster, but she and the shadows are too late. Bella was attacked by Alec, Jane, and another Volturi guard beheaded Jasper.
Pain. That was all she felt. The mating bond slowly faded as if someone had ripped her heart out of her chest. It was too painful that she didn't notice that she stopped in the middle of the fight. Then it sank in. Jasper was dead. Her best friend, her confidant, her fiance, her soulmate was gone.
A strangled cry came from her lips as she tried to stand up, but her body felt numb. She never felt so weak before, clutching her chest as she felt the ache of her undead heart and the agony of losing her mate.
Now she understood why Freya wanted to follow Thomas. The pain was too much to bear it was torture.
"Gen, Gen, you have to be strong and fight," A deep voice snaps her out of her torment. She looks at her brother Greyson and shakes her head. "I can't. It hurts," her voice cracking.
"I know Gen, but he will want you to fight and stay alive," Greyson says as he stands her up and kisses her forehead.
The Stone twins separate ways, and she sees Jain contemplating with herself if she should leave the battle or not. They are slowly losing. Genevieve is beyond mad she is furious. She wants to have her revenge on the person who killed her soulmate.
Genevieve summons the shadows to lock Jane in place as she slowly walks towards the blond, holding her chin and making Jane look up at her. She just gives her a wicked smile and leans toward Jane's ear. "A life for a life" and held Jane's head tightly, making cracks appear on her neck as she twisted her head painfully slow.
Genevieve held Jane's head, throwing it towards Sam's wolf, unknown to her that Caius snuck from behind, holding her on the neck, snaking his arms on her waist.
"I gave you an option Genevieve. Either you become my wife or die," Caius whispers in her ear.
"I would rather die than become your wife," Genevieve snarls at him. Caius was much stronger than her. She is losing control of the shadows.
Caius holding both of her hands, knowing that it was her way of making the shadows appear, the shadows felt their creator losing her hold on them, making them run towards her, but they disappeared.
"You lose," Caius says as he beheads her, taking a torch from his guard and burning her body.
