drops on your tongue
thunder rolls in the distance. she smiles, a knowing smile, as if the sound is a secret shared in a glance between old friends.

oh geez, i have a lot. too many. i think i'll just pick my current obsessions and give a quick run-down.
believer (k. bakugo) - this is my current pet-project, the love of my life, my blood, sweat, and tears. it's a slow burn in every sense of the word. i like to explore the parts of the story that the anime+manga didn't really cover. i also don't want to rush her relationship with bakugo; a good romance requires friendship and trust, and i love building that up and making it believable.
kendria smith, three-time breaker of the strict quirk laws in the u.s.a., is given an ultimatum: go to a juvenile detention facility, or apply for a hero school in japan where her uncle (and closest living relative besides her father) teaches. with the ability to create and shape shields that rely on her own body and emotions to work, she joins class 1-a on the crazy train that is their school year.
incandescent (mha) - my current self-insert (yes i am cringe) where i explore just how not-normal the my hero academia world is, and how being swept into another universe isn't as great as many fics make it out to be. i also plan to mess around with character dynamics and relationships, while evaluating myself as a person and trying to convey how i would deal with the sort of situations we see in that universe.
ash collins, found bleeding out on the sidewalk, is a mystery. with no memories of how she got here or how this "quirk" filled world works, she sets out to find exactly what fate has put her up to, while the universe tries its best to help her along the way. and if that help comes in the form of a loud blonde with anger issues, and a cabbage-patch kid that could destroy her with his pinky finger, so be it.
static (mha) - my newest villain fic (technically she's an ex-villain but whatever). i'm a sucker for the "villain helps heroes in exchange for protection" trope. this fic is also my way of trying out a new writing style that's i've been dabbling in, as well as giving different writing characteristics to different character povs. she has a lot to unpack in terms of backstory and plot, but i'm looking forward to it, especially since i have a solid plan in mind for this fic.
due to unfortunate circumstances, she's now in the care of a couple heroes and students that already have a lot on their plates. she doesn't like the compound and she wishes she had a window, but she's feeling pretty spiteful, so anything to take down tomura and Him is worth having to wear bands that muffle her quirk and deal with a few kids her own age.
revival (botw) - a legend of zelda: breath of the wild fic that i'd come up with a while back, but didn't actually start working on until recently. the world of botw is so diverse and leaves a lot of room for interpretation and creative liberties, and i've had a blast writing this so far. cove is one of my more outgoing characters, though i try my best not to make her confident to the point of annoying. my version of link is an absolute sweetheart, softie, 10/10 would love again, and i'm really looking forward to the dynamics of the "revival crew" (aka my three amazing ocs and link).
cove never expected her adulthood to begin this way. seventeen and on a kingdom-wide quest to help a revived champion cleanse the land of the calamity, she must dig into memories that aren't even hers in order to figure out how she ties into the fate of hyrule. thankfully, her amnesiac companion is used to these flashbacks and is seemingly familiar with one of her past lives, so maybe this won't be a complete disaster.
i have more than a few wips, but these are my favorites at the moment :)
• where is your favorite place to write?
definitely just on my bed, propped up against the windowsill/wall behind me with a pillow and a blanket to keep me warm. i'm not big on writing in public, especially when other people can see what i'm doing. it's not like i'm doing anything bad, i just don't like the invasion of privacy. i used to write in the living room sometimes in the corner chair, but after a while i decided i needed the privacy of my room in order to write comfortably.
one day i'd like to be able to just sit in a cozy little cafe or something and write in the corner with a warm drink so i can soak up the vibes. but for now, i'll stick with my bed.
• what is your favorite/least favorite part of writing?
mmm that's a tough question. i'd have to say that my favorite part is the creation process. coming up with brand new characters, exploring their personalities and appearances and habits. backstories and worldbuilding are both fun (if a little exhausting at times) and give me a good challenge. i absolutely love seeing my little sparks of creativity develop into full-fledged people with thoughts and feelings and little quirks special to them.
my least favorite is definitely having to actually write my ideas. sometimes i wish i could just snap my fingers and make the story appear on the screen exactly as i want it to be. figuring out a style that fits both me and the story is tough, and sitting down and focusing is even harder. sometimes i can crank out a thousand words at a time, sometimes i go into a haze and the words are perfectly put together, but a lot of times i struggle to get all of my thoughts in a cohesive chapter that actually makes sense.
• do you have any writing habits/rituals?
usually i listen to a playlist made specifically for the book in order to stay in the mindset of the book and character. i also tend to re-read a few chapters of the book before writing a new one, so i'm caught up on the plot and writing style. i try not to get distracted while writing, meaning i'll take care of all other activities (snacks, chores, the like) beforehand, that way i can hunker down and focus solely on what's in front of me.
also, i tend to go over the same scene in my head a few times throughout the day/night before writing; i zone out a lot, which is great for picturing scenes and smoothing over the details and dialogue and whatnot. so when i get around to writing i have a script laid out in my head that i just have to translate to wattpad.
• which story of yours do you like the best?
oof i have a lot of stories that i love, but believer is definitely my pride and joy. i've spent so much time and effort and love on the book. it's very near and dear to my soul. kendria is a real, living, breathing person to me at this point. she definitely turned out different from how i originally planned her (she was supposed to be like mina personality wise but i'm so glad i didn't go with that jakjdsflk;sa), but i think this route made her character more believable and realistic.
i've enjoyed exploring the time skips that mha has and how the kids spend their time offscreen, as well as building relationships past just "oh look he's cute i think i like him". i'm a sucker for slow burns and found family, but those take a lot of planning and buildup that i'm completely ok with. the kendria/bakugo romance is more of a subplot in this book, because her development is the most important thing to me. i plan to have a sequal, where the romance aspect will take up a larger slice of the "importance" pie, but again her development and characterization is going to be the main focal point.
