CHAPTER EIGHT
VIII.    sleepover
[ season 1, episode 4]

                       MAVIS DRIES her hair with a towel as she walks out of the bathroom, with a shirt and some pants, Frazer could be seen lying on his bed reading a comic, Frazer's mum allowed Mavis to stay for the night, as The police were her house after they found her brother,

"Hey!" Frazer says not looking away from the comic as Mavis Takes a seat next to him on the bed, the towel in the washing basket as that is where his mother said to put it,

"What comic" Mavis asked as Frazer showed the comic to her as he read,

"Spider-Man" Frazer says as Mavis nods with a hum before they look up as someone knocks on the door,

"Come in Mom!" Frazer shouted as the door opened revealing a woman with a soft smile and a tray of something,

"It got some food," she softly says as she walks in, Mavis smiles at the woman as she places the food onto the bed,

"This looks nice, thank you Mrs Harrington" Mavis says softly as They both dig into the food,

"You welcome dear, and Frazer can I speak to you outside please" Frazer nods as he wipes his mouth and slips off the bed as Mavis Continues to eat her food not realising how hungry she is, she looks up as the door shuts gently,

"Keep an eye on her," his mom says as Frazer nods looking at his mother, "I plan to, But Joyce said it was alright, she did say that she needed Mavis out of the house for a day or two"

His mom looks at him eyes softening,

"Alright hun, if you both need anything just come and get me," his mother says as she kisses the top of his head, Frazer nods as he walks back into the room,

"My little boy is grown up" his mother whispers as she wipes fake tears and slowly walks away from the room,

Mavis grins as Frazer sits still as Mavis puts nail polish onto his nails, "looking good"

"Does this wipe off?" Frazer asked looking down at his nails that had been painted a bright pink,

"After a few days," Mavis shrugged as she Twisted the lid back on,

"What else do you wanna do" Frazer asked as Mavis looked at him head tilted,

"Is sleep an option?" Mavis asked as Frazer nodded With a smile he stood up and told Mavis,

"It is an option" Frazer grins as Mavis sits down on his bed, which looks too comfortable to leave, she wishes she could have a room like this,

"Umm, I'll be right back" Frazer says as she rushes out of the door, Mavis watches before hopping off the bed and grabbing the radio,

"Mike? You there, over" Mavis asked as she waited for a response,

"Where are you? Are you ok? Over" Mike asked as Mavis Smlie,

"I'm at Frazer's, over"

"Frazers?  Over"

"Yes, his mom around me to dry for the night, over"

"Cool, I'll see you both tomorrow then?" Mike asked as Mavis nods,

"Over and out" Mavis  says as she Pulls the Entener down and places it back into her bag, Frazer comes sun holding multiple covers as Steve walks in with a mattress,

"Mavis! How's Johnathan after today" Steve grins as Frazer Makes her bed, Mavis looks at him eyes brown crossed,

"He's fine..." Mavis says as Frazer Looks at his brother,

"You can go now, Steve" Frazer mutters as Steve looks at his younger brother,

"Mom! Why does Frazer have A girl in his room!" Steve shouted as their mother rushed in a green face mask hung on her face as she tightened her Pink fluffy dressing,

"I invited Mavis to stay the night," she says softly as Mavis looks at Frazer who's Looking at her then at her bed,

"Now out, and leave your brother alone, I haven't seen him this happy since we adopted him"

"Not brother," Steve mutters as he walks out and down the hall, his mother looks at Frazer who's looking down as Mavis Looks between them,

"Anyway, good night my dears" His Mother whispers as they both nod, As they climb into their bed, Mavis pulls the cover over her and looks at the woman,

"Night! And Thank you for letting me stay," Mavis says softly showing her gratitude towards the woman

"You welcome," she says softly as the door slowly shuts, Mavis Closes her eyes as she tries to sleep,

"You ok?" Frazer asked quietly as he turned to face her, Mavis looked up at him, Blinking the water that filled her eyes,

"I'm fine" she whispers as she Sinks into the covers, Hoping to get some sleep,

"This is the second sleepover, I had with you" Frazer says as Mavis Sit sip softly as she looks at him,

"Well I guess you'll be invited to more" Mavis grins as Frazer smiles loving the invitation to the sleepovers,

"I miss my brother" Mavis whispers as Frazer looks at her sitting up and patting the side next to him, Mavis stands sun and sits next to him pulling her knees up to her chest,

"I know you do," Frazer whispers as He places an arm around her shoulder, Mavis Feels funny at his touch but pushes it away,

"It was always us two, now it's just me" she mutters as tears build up in her eyes, Frazer hums as he listens to the girl,

"It always was the Byers twins! Not it Mavis," Mavis whispers as she leans her head on his shoulder, Frazer's body freezes at the moment, and the two kids just sit there in quiet as the moonlight shines on them, Mavis Shuts her eyes as she slowly drifts into sleep, Frazer looks at the girl noticing she's sleep, with a. Small smile he lays the girl down in his bed before putting the cover over her, and sliding into the bed that was on the floor,

"Night Mav" he whispers as she slowly sinks into a sleep pulling the cover over his body,

The two kids groan as The sunlight shines on them both, Mavis sits up her hair Messy while Frazer Yawns,

"Kids! How are you today" the lady asked as Mavis hugs her knees, Her eyes kids are heavy as she looks up at the woman, as she takes a seat on the bed, Mavis looks at her as tears well up in her eyes,

"Oh hunny, come here" she says as Mavis Falls into her as she sobs Amber Rubs Mavis back as she sobs into her shoulder, Amber continues to Clam her down as Frazer Looks at the radio that has Mike speaking,

"What Mike, over" Frazer says clearing still tired,

"Frazer! Is Mav there?, over" Mike asked as Frazer looked at the girl who's sobbing into his mother shoulder,

"She is, why" Frazer asked blinking,

"Its about will" Mike says loudly making Mavis Look up Eye browns crossing,

"What about him" Frazer asked as Mavis Leans away from his mother, and walks over to Frazer, the woman looks at them before slowly creeping out, shutting the door on her way,

"You mean about his funeral?" Frazer asked as Mavis eyes well with tears again,

"Screw his funeral!" Mike says as Mavis scoff,

"Mike leave us alone, over and out" she says Her voice wobbling as she Looks at Frazer who's Frowning,

"May Listen. Get over here bring Frazer with you, over and out" Mike says as Mavis mouth parts, nobody have called her may for a while so the name hit hard,

"We'll see you in a few" Frazer says as Mavis Rushes towards the bathroom, Before realising and rushing back out and grab her bag before rushing back into the bathroom, Fraser looks at her as he pulls out a shirt and some jeans, the bathroom door shut snaking him smile as he begins to get dress,

Mavis walks out after five minutes she Looks up As Frazer Ties his shoes, Mavis smiles as she Runs a finger through her hair hoping to get it Back to normal, Mavis was wearing a white shirt that had rainbow stripes going around it, and she paired it with some dark blue jeans and a light brown flannel that was her older brothers,

"Ready?" Frazer asked as he looks Mavis up and down, Mavis nods, "let's go,"

They both walk out side by side there shoulders brush as they walk, Mavis stops as she gets handed a bag and a pancakes with a grin,

"Have fun at school, and Mavis if you need anything don't hesitate to come to our door well let you in" Amber smiles as she Mavis hugs her the woman stops what she was doing and with a soft smile she hugged the girl back,

"Alright, go!" Amber says as Mavis nods and walks out Frazer following,

"Love you mom!" He shouted as he shuts the door not waiting for her response Mavis grabs her bike and Throws her Bag into the basket before holding her hand out for Frazer,

"Bag, I can put it with mine" she says softly as Frazer puts it into the basket before Grabbing his bike, and rushing off Mavis follows before hopping on to the bike, And begins to peddle,
