Episode 1.3 - Flashpoint

ϟ

S O P H I A

"Oh, baby, baby."

"What are you doing?" Iris asked.

"Playing her favorite song," Cisco answered.

"Oh, baby, baby."

"You think it'll work again?" Linda asks.

"Yeah, it's a good luck charm. I mean it worked before," Cisco answered.

"I guess waking up to Britney Spears shouldn't be too freaky for her," Patty comments.

I then open my eyelids slowly gaining back consciousness as the first thing I see when I wake up are my friends and husband. Cisco, Iris, Ronnie, Patty, Linda, and Eddie. They were all here by my side with warm welcoming smiles.

"Oh, baby, baby, how was I supposed to know
That something wasn't right here..."

"It worked," Ronnie said cheerfully.

I smiled at my husband as he held my hand.

"You know me, Baby. Britney Army for life." I said.

"Hey, Sista. It's your BFF Iris. How are you feeling?" Iris asks me beaming.

I shake my head clearing away the rest of my drowsiness and confusion as I notice that I'm back in the lab of Ramon Industries.

"Much better, Girl. That fight with Tajectory though really took a toll on me." I said.

"Yeah, no kidding. As the citizens of Central City think Lady Flash is dead." Linda said.

"Thankfully Trajectory hasn't struck our city since then. But I doubt she'll stop wreaking havoc. Now that she thinks you're dead she'll have free rein to do whatever she wants." Eddie said.

I sighed. "And how long was I out for?" I asked sitting upright in the medical bed.

"Forty-eight hours. As you were in pretty bad shape, Sophie," Patty answered.

"Thankfully a certain someone came to your rescue and patched you right up," Ronnie adds.

"Who?" I asked.

Team Lady Flash smiled and gestured to Batwoman who was in the corner sipping her flask of liquor.

"What?" Batwoman asks perplexed as she sees us stare at her in astonishment.

"Oh, nothing. Well, It's not like every day you get to meet the legendary Batwoman." I said.

"She's older than I thought she would be," Iris comments.

"Yet I'm not hard of hearing," Batwoman said.

Iris blushed embarrassed. "Sorry."

"Thank you, Batwoman. For saving me." I said.

"You shouldn't be thanking me. You should thank your brother instead. He's the one who convinced me to save you." Batman said.

"Wait, What? My brother? But he doesn't even know that I'm Lady Flash yet. As I haven't told him that yet." I said confused.

"Believe it or not, Babe. He does indeed know that you are Lady Flash." Ronnie said.

"How does he know that ?" I asked.

"Well, when you were off fighting Trajectory one-on-one Barry was on the scene and saw the whole thing go down," Ronnie explained.

"But how was he able to catch up with me and Trajectory? We were running at Mach 3.3,"

"Here is the funny thing, Sophie. Your brother is also just like you. He has super speed." Iris said.

I was shocked. My brother is a speedster like me. No freaking way.

"And he's from another timeline where he's called The Flash. Apparently in his time your mother died and he wanted to change that by saving her which created this world. So now you have powers even though in the old timeline you didn't have powers." Patty explains to me.

"Ugh, my head hurts just thinking about it," Iris said grasping at her skull.

"Yeah, time travel is very confusing," Eddie attached his head. "At least we have Dr. Stein who knows a lot about this sort of stuff," Eddie adds.

I stared at them utterly baffled. It took me a few minutes to digest it. "So, where is my big brother now?" I asked.

"He's with Caitlin at the hospital. Congratulations you're an aunty again." Linda said.

I smiled as they showed me pictures of the baby boy Brett. "Aw, man. I wish I could have been there." I said a little dejected.

Then an alert pooped up on a nearby computer. Cisco goes to it and reads. "It's Trajectory again. She's causing havoc downtown."

I take off the wires that were attached to me and get out of bed.

"Woah, Sophie. You shouldn't be getting back out there so soon." Patty said trying to lay me back down.

"Agreed. Let Ronnie and Linda handle this one, Girl." Iris adds.

"She's not gonna listen to you guys," Ronnie said.

"Yeah, we can stop her," Linda said.

"No, it has to be me who stops her and no one else," I said.

"Batwoman a little help please," Patty asks.

"Listen Sophie. If you want to catch her and take her down for good then you can't do it alone this time. You'll need help from your teammates and I'm also willing to lend my services too." Batwoman said.

I smiled excitedly. "Really?"

Batwoman nods and pulls out a small vial of nanotech bugs from her dark red utility belt pouch.

"This isn't my first rodeo with a speedster," Batwoman said.

"What are those things?" Patty asked.

"Nanotech. Hey, wait a minute isn't that my tech." Cisco said.

Batwoman grinned. "Maybe."

I nodded and looked at the news broadcast. "Alright, Trajectory. Let's end this once and for all."

I opened the rusty front doors to the abandoned warehouse and walked hastily toward the power-dampening jail cell of my mother's murderer Reverse Flash.

"And here I was starting to think you'd forgotten all about little old me." He spoke.

My jaw tensed and I responded angrily. "But I am forgetting, aren't I?"

Reverse Flash smirked cockily. "I was wondering when you'll notice."

"It's like I'll be thinking about a moment from my past and then it just vanishes. Like I can't get it back. Why is that?" I asked.

"Flashpoint. It's a side effect. See, I told you before. You don't know what the hell you are doing. This new reality that you have created is starting to override the reality that you and I know. So, your original life. Your friends. Your family. Pretty soon all of that will cease to exist." Reverse Flash explains.

"Well, why isn't it happening to you also?"

"I'm not so sure."

I scoffed not believing him. Of course, he knew. The man always was three steps ahead.

"Unless..."

"What? What is it?"

Reverse Flash then bursts into evil laughter and I stared at him utterly bewildered.

"Your speed! The more you use it. The faster you lose your memories."

I shake my head in denial. "No. No, you're lying. You just want me to let you out of here. That's never going to happen."

Reverse Flash rolled his eyes. "The version of you that I know from the future, he's not this stupid."

He then gets up off the floor and sighs frustrated. "Listen to me, Barry. Pretty soon you won't even remember that you are The Flash. And when that happens this world will become permanent. So if you don't remember that you're the Flash then who's to say you won't forget the life that you've created here for yourself, your wife, and your kids? All those precious memories... Poof!" Reverse Flash spoke with glee in his voice.

"Then time will set like concrete and nothing will be able to change it back to the way it ever was."

"No, It won't," I said and started to walk away from him.

"You know what you have to do, Barry. You have to take me back to that night and let me finish what I started." Reverse Flash yelled out.

I stopped in my tracks and turned to face my arch-nemesis once more.

"You go to hell, Thawne!"

"You're taking both of us there, Allen! Now who's the villain, Flash?! Now who's the villain?!"

I flashed into my super suit and then out into the bustling city looking for my arch-enemy Trajectory. I finally located her and found her at Mercury Labs causing chaos.

"I need to go faster!" Trajectory yelled.

She was holding the head scientist of Mercury Labs Dr. Tina McGee by the neck.

"I-I don't know how to do that. I-I can't help you," Tina said.

"Liar! Yes, you can. I know that you and your team are working on a serum. Give it to me now or die." Trajectory said and vibrated her hand.

"Hey, that's enough! Let her go!" I demanded.

Trajectory turned to face me and scowled. "You're supposed to be dead."

"Yeah, well, you didn't finish the job. As I'm still here kicking." I said in a mocking tone.

"Not for long." Trajectory said and dropped the doctor to the floor.

I flashed away and she chased after me. We ran all through the city while fighting each other. I was much faster than her this time around and had the upper hand no matter what dirty tactic she tried to pull I was able to avoid and counterattack. Growing frustrated she then grabbed a little boy from his mother's arms.

"No, my son!" The mother yelled in panic.

"Mommy!" The little boy cried out.

Trajectory smirked. "Don't step any closer, Lady Flash."

My jaw clenched as I watched the scene unfold in front of me. "All I want is that serum. If you can give it to me then I'll let the boy go." Trajectory demanded.

Batwoman talked over my earpiece. "Easy now, Sophia. Don't do anything hasty. Just do what we planned."

I took off my cowl and looked at Trajectory. She looked surprised that it was me under the mask.

"Sophia Allen. Long time no see." Trajectory said.

"Now your turn," I said glaring daggers at her.

Trajectory takes off her cowl as well and I see the face of my old friend Eliza Harmon.

"To think that this whole time I was battling my old friend. We could have been a formable team but you just couldn't stop being the hero could you?"

"This isn't you Eliza. You can still change your ways."

"It's too damn late for that, Sophia. I have an addiction to speed and I will do whatever it takes to get it even if that means taking your speed as well."

I sighed. "If it means you'll stop this charade then I'll indeed give you what you want."

"Give me what?"

"Speed. That's what you're after, isn't it?"

Trajectory nodded. "Yes, now where is the serum?!"

I pulled out a vial filled with blue electricity from the pocket of my Lady Flash suit. "But first let the boy go alright? No one needs to get hurt."

Eliza does just that and lets the boy go who then runs off into her mother's arms.

Eliza walked towards me almost in a trace as I held it in the palm of my hand. But what she didn't know was that it was a trap all along. Next, I crushed the vial and it shattered as the electricity flickered out.

"No! What did you do?!" Eliza yelled out in anger and confusion.

"It's for your own good, Eliza. I'm gonna get you some help." I said and took out meta-dampening cuffs.

Eliza vibrated her entire body again violently. As she was charging up she threw uncontrollable lighting at me. Ronnie, Linda (Dr. Light), and Batwoman came to my aid as they helped clear the area and save citizens from getting hurt. As I continued the battle with Trajectory and focused on stopping her.

"You can't beat me, Sophia."

"Maybe but that's why I called for backup."

"Oh, goodie. You brought me more people to slaughter."

Dr. Light blinded Trajectory with a blast of light to her face and Batwoman then took advantage. She threw a few batarangs at Trajectory as they struck her in the back and chest.

"Aah!" She groaned in pain.

Next, she pulled out a Batarang from her shoulder with annoyance and realized she couldn't use her speed anymore.

"My speed!" Eliza yelled.

"Nanites. Courtesy of Ramon Industries. It delivers a high-frequency pulse that disables your speed. You're not gonna be running anywhere for quite a while." Batwoman said.

Eliza got even angrier and charged at Batwoman as they had a one-on-one fight. Eliza was able to hang in there but ultimately Harleen was the better of the two and took her down. Then Trajectory vibrated her body and got rid of the nanites using her speed she got the upper hand on Batwoman and was about to land the final blow.

Dr. Light then shot a blast of light at Teajectory blindsiding her from behind as I sped up towards her and Clothesline Trajectory. The fight was finally over and we had won. But Trajectory still tried to get back up to her feet even though she was injured.

"Is that all you got?" Eliza mocked.

All of a sudden a blue portal appeared in front of us and out of it appeared a time machine of some sort. Then a flash of yellow zoomed out of the time sphere and punched Eliza out cold. It came to a halt in front of us and it stopped vibrating a supersonic speeds as it appeared to be a man in yellow. Another speedster.

He took off his cowl and spoke out.

"Where's Barry Allen?"
