Episode 23.2 - Reverse Flash: Origins

It has been a few weeks since the failed recreation of The Flash's accident. My boyfriend is still in bad condition as he has third-degree burns all over his body. He has not improved at all as I've tried just about everything to fix him up and heal his wounds. But I'm afraid to admit that maybe my love won't make it after all.

I so badly wanted to take Eobard to the Snow Memorial Hospital. But I quickly realized that the doctors would have figured out what we were up to and then taken him away from me. In the 25th century, having superpowers is illegal due to The Anti-Meta-Human Act that was placed in 2024.

Now, the only ones who have superpowers are those that work for the government organization A.R.G.U.S. If you're caught breaking the law then it can lead up to jail time or even death if you don't cooperate with the agency. I glanced at my boyfriend's half-burned face and broken body as his chest rose and fell with difficulty breathing. I felt extremely overwhelmed by everything that I just burst into tears.

"Please, Eobard. Wake up. Please don't leave me, Baby. I still need you." I begged.

ϟ Eobard's POV ϟ

My heart aches as I heard the soft cries of my beloved Caroline. I wanted desperately to wake up from my coma and hold her in my arms again. But sadly I couldn't no matter how hard I goddamn tried.

Suddenly, I start to get strange visions as the cries of despair from my wife fade away. I see myself meeting my hero The Flash and running beside him smiling with glee. I then see us doing heroic acts like saving people and stopping bad guys as we become close friends.

Not only that but next I see my beloved Caroline and we get married and is now my wife holding our precious baby girl in her arms. I see my daughter grow up into a beautiful young woman in front of me. But then the visions which were a delight to see take a sour note.

The visions get blurry and fuzzy as I start to see red. I then see a dash of blue, red, and white lighting doing unspeakable acts. They are hurting my family, as well as innocent civilians, and my hero The Flash as cries of despair ring in my ear.

"You can't lock up the darkness!"

"Some would say I'm the reverse!"

"I am the Future Flash!"

ϟ  Caroline's POV  ϟ

I was holding my boyfriend's hand while I sat by his side. Then Eobard starts to stir in his sleep and breathe uneasily. He mutters words under his breath but the only things I could pick up were Ellie and Savitar

I look up at the monitor as the beeping sounds increase and see his vitals spiking rapidly. I let go of his hand and step back startled as he spooked me with his behavior. He gasped and sits upright in bed.

"NOOO!" He screamed waking up.

Quickly, I grab a syringe and hold him down struggling surprised by his increased strength.

"It's okay, My Love. It was just a nightmare." I said in a soothing voice and administer the sedative.

Eobard stops struggling to escape in my arms and relaxes as his breathing is now back to normal.

"I failed." He muttered.

"No. No. We failed. Don't put all the burden on yourself." I said.

"W-We have to try... Again," Eobard said and tries to get up, but I put a hand on his chest, stopping him.

"No, please don't," I said, begging him to stay.

"But we're so close, Carol."

"I don't fucking care! I-I almost lost you, and I'll rather have you without super speed and alive instead. You can still do good, Eobard. Your mind alone can do great things to better the world." I said while holding his hand.

Eobard thinks about it for a few seconds and sighs nodding his head. "Okay, Carol. We'll stop. No more." He said sounding defeated.

"Oh, Thank you, Baby," I said gratefully as I lay my head on his chest. "Thank you," I said again as tears began to stream down my face.

Eobard holds me close to him as he has tears streaming down his face as well.

"I love you." He said and kissed me.

"I love you too," I said and kissed him back.

I feel a tingle. A spark. Like a trail of energy running through his veins. What I didn't know was that our plan in the fact did work. Eobard was now the Future Flash.
