Hey, guys and girls. I'm back. I'm so embarrassed because I haven't updated this book in a long time since 2019! As you can see while I may not have updated I have edited the chapters because my punctuation, grammar, and sometimes dialogue were bad. I cringed when I was rereading some chapters. Oh, and I changed some casting, specifically Eobard, Eddie, and Barry's sister Sophia. Check out chapter 16 if you get lost because as I said earlier I have changed some things around. I was inspired to continue writing this book because of a scene in season 5 of The Flash. Nora and Barry went back in time, and they asked for Eobard's help in fixing something. When Eobard screamed that he wanted to go home, I was asking myself why he wanted to go home so badly, and then I got an idea and started to write again. This and the next chapter will explore Eobard's origin, and I'm going to write him as a tragic villain. So, please comment and tell me what you think. Also, I just want to say thank you for all the support. I never expected this book to reach 10k reads and be this popular.

Episode 23.1 - Reverse Flash: Origins
— ϟ —
E O B A R D
I wasn't always like this... a monster. I was a respectable member of society and I had a family. A beautiful wife and daughter. Sadly, they were taken away from me, and I've mourned them ever since.
I sometimes wonder how things would have turned out if I wasn't destined to become the Flash's greatest enemy. Would Caroline and Eleanor still be alive? Would the Flash have accepted me? Nevertheless, I can't go back, and my fate is set.
Some people say that I'm a sociopath and others may say that I'm a psychopath, but you could say that I'm both because psychopaths are born crazy and sociopaths are made crazy. Look at me trying to diagnose myself. Ha! I sound like Dr. Harleen Quinzel-Wayne.
Anyway, back to my story. I was born in the year 2451. The 25th century. The Thawne family is a distinguished family of politicians, scientists, and industrialists. My parents, more so, my father expected a lot out of me and wanted me to be perfect from the beginning.
They created me and chose the best of genetics from the Thawne family line, meaning I'm genetically modified. I did all I could to live up to the Thawne legacy, but nothing was ever good enough for my father. My mother Rosalind on the other hand was more forgiving and accepted my flaws, and I loved her for that.
My father would abuse me emotionally, calling me a disappointment, and a failure, and that I was stupid! Can you believe that! I've had an IQ of 167 since birth, and he calls me stupid! *Sigh* All I ever wanted was for him to be proud of me and show me love... but that was just a pipe dream.
I grew up as a very shy and closed-off person. I found it very hard trying to make friends during my time in school. So, I decided to drown myself in books. While others would play, I would go to the library and read books about the Age of Heroes.
I read stories about heroes like Batman, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Superman, and of course the Flash. He inspired me. I was such a fan of The Flash, and I would sometimes get obsessive to an extent. I wanted to be like him.
I wanted to feel powerful and become a hero just like him. So, once I graduated from high school, I then went to The Flash Academy to study how he came to be along with the secrets of the Speed Force.
ϟ 2470 ϟ
It's my first day going to The Flash Academy. I'm on my way to class when I bumped into a girl on accident.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm such a klutz." I said and helped with picking up her textbooks.
"It's okay. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. It's my fault." She said and then our eyes meet.
"Wow, and I thought I had it bad," I said sadly.
I then told her about my childhood, and we grew closer that night. Hearing Caroline's story and about how she felt weak and afraid. It only made me want to become the Flash even more. I want to protect those who can't protect themselves. One thing I've learned from The Flash is that he didn't kill. Well, when I have those powers at my disposal, I will. I will become better than the Flash.
ϟ 2471 ϟ
We go to The Flash Museum which is just a few blocks from our lab. I park the flying yellow car and we get out and walk holding hands. The golden statue of the Flash greets us and we smile.
"It says here that this building used to be called S.T.A.R. Labs," Caroline said and shows me a holographic image of the building from the year 2020. Then an image of Dr. Wells and former staff that worked for him is shown.
"Correct, My Love. The history books also say that Flash was struck by lightning and was in a coma for 9 months. He was recuperating in this very building." I said excitedly.
"We're getting closer to finding out more about your hero. Soon you'll be the Flash of the 25th century." Caroline said and smiled at me. I kissed her, and we entered the museum by breaking in. An alarm started to ring loudly, alerting the police. We are welcomed by the voice of the curator, Dexter Myles, and ignore him to search for the Flash's super suit. Next, we walk past the gift shop that is filled with Flash memorabilia like toys, phones, rings, etc. Then we go to the Hall of Villains as something catches Caroline's eye.
"What is it, Beautiful?" I ask.
"Look." She said and gestured to the Flash's rogues on display like Captain Cold, Zoom, Golden Glider, etc.
"I didn't realize he had so many." She said and then we see the Flash's greatest enemy... The Reverse-Flash.
Caroline and I gup in fear. "He's scary," She said. "Yeah, I'm glad the Flash defeated him before he vanished," I said.
"Come on, Handsome. We only have a few minutes before the police arrive," Caroline said, looking at her smartwatch. She then grabs my hand, and we continue to search for Flash's suit. We finally make it to the Hall of Heroes. The suits of Vibe, Firestorm, Elongated Man, Kid Flash, Lady Lighting, Frost, and The Flash are on display. Caroline and I look at the superhero suits with fascination. I then touch the glass of The Flash's suit display.
"I'll make you proud," I whispered.
Caroline smiles at me. "He'll be proud of you, My Love. I'm sure of it."
I nod, smiling, and break the glass of the Flash's display case. I then grab the super suit and put it in my duffle bag. We run back to the car and leave just as the police cars come flying in.
ϟ A few days later ϟ
I'm in the lab working on trying to replicate the Flash's accident. Music plays softly in the background and then my girlfriend walks in holding food. I look up and smile happily.
"Big Belly Burger! My favorite." I said.
Caroline giggles and kisses me. "The same order as always. One triple cheeseburger and large curly fries with a large Coca-Cola." She said.
"Mmm, thank you, My Love," I said.
"You're welcome." She said and then puts the bag of fast food in front of me. I salivate ripping the bag apart and digging into my food. Caroline steals a fry and kisses my cheek. I smile while eating and then she takes a seat at her desk.
"I read in the history books that Big Belly Burger was much better in the past," Carol said as I continued to eat.
"Heh. Maybe once I get my powers I can go back in time and take us there to try it." I said.
Caroline's phone then beeps. "There is a high chance of rain and lighting tonight. It's now or never, Handsome." She said. I nod and finish eating.
ϟ An hour later ϟ
Caroline and I leave our lab and go onto the roof. It starts getting cloudy as we set up our equipment.
"Uh, Babe? Are you positive that this is going to work?" Caroline asked me as I was attaching chemicals to a chair that had a large metal rod on it that would be used to attract a bolt of lightning and hopefully recreate the accident that gave The Flash his powers.
"Are you doubting me?" I asked slightly hurt.
"No. I'm just worried. This could kill you if it doesn't work and I don't wanna lose you." She said slightly shaking. I then stop what I'm doing and walk towards her. I hug her tightly and it seems to calm her nerves.
"You don't have to worry about me, My Love. This will work. You just have to believe in the impossible." I said and smiled slightly. "Do you believe?" I asked her. "I-I do. Just be careful." She said. I nod and then we kissed passionately. I hold her in my arms for a few more seconds, and then we separate. I then walk back towards the chair.
"Where's the manganic acid, Carol?" I asked making some final adjustments to the chair with a calculating eye.
"Here." She said and hands me the beaker filled with the chemical in it.
I take a seat and put on the metal helmet.
"Wait! Before I flip the switch I wanna tell you something important." Caroline said biting her lip nervously.
"What is it, My Love?" I ask with a concerned tone.
"I-I love you," Caroline said smiling.
"I love you too," I said back and smiled at my girlfriend. "Now let's see if we can recreate history."
Caroline pulls the lever and the metal rod starts to rise into the sky as lightning begins to shoot out of the sky and briefly illuminate the cloudy sky. Several minutes of tense silence passed as streaks of blue and white lightning shot across the sky, followed by nearly ear-piercing cracks of thunder that caused Caroline to wince in fear for her boyfriend.
"Come on!" I called out looking towards the skies "I'm here! I'm right—"
Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck the metal pod and for a fleeting moment, Caroline and I thought that it had worked... Until the chemicals on me ignited, and I caught fire!
"AHH!" I screamed in excruciating pain and my body is engulfed in flames.
"EOBARD!" Caroline shouts in horror.
She then quickly ripped me from the chair and placed me on the puddle-filled ground and began to put out the fires covering my body. Next, she grabbed a fire blanket and used it to help smother the flames, which were quickly beginning to die out.
"Oh, God. No..." Caroline covers her mouth, shocked by the state I am in. Massive electrical burns up and down my whole body, and it looks like most of my skin is fried off. Caroline cries in despair. No, I'm not dead yet.
"C-Carol..." I said weakly. I tried to move as I wanted to comfort my girlfriend, but I couldn't. Even the slightest movement caused me to groan in agony.
"Shhh, don't move, Baby. I'll take you back to the lab." Caroline said and wraps me in the fire blanket. She then puts me on a gurney and pushes it toward the elevator, and we go down to the lab.
"S-Stay with Me, My Love. Please don't leave me." I hear her say, and then the world goes dark.
