𝐗𝐗.

"You guys almost finished?" Sophia asked.

"Hang on... hang on..." Dr. Wells repeated.

"I've found Professor Stein. He's in the Bad Lands. The middle of nowhere. 30 miles outside of Central City." Barry said entering the Cortex.

"Minimum safe distance," Cisco mumbled

"He's sacrificing himself," Caitlin said.

"How much time does he have left?" Sophia asked.

"Twelve minutes," Cisco called out.

"...And we're done." Dr. Wells shouted.

"What is it?" Barry questioned.

"This is a quantum splicer," Dr. Wells answered.

"Will it work to separate them?" Barry asked.

"We'll know in twelve minutes," Dr. Wells said handing the device over towards him.

"Barry, not even you can outrun a nuclear blast so you get this device to Professor Stein and get the hell out of there as fast as you can," Dr. Wells ordered.

Sophia then snatched the splicer out of Barry's hold. "What are you doing?" He yelled.

"I'm going with you." She argued.

"No, you're not," He yelled.

"It's too dangerous!" Dr. Wells added.

"Barry doesn't know how to operate the splicer. I do." She interjected.

"Cait is going to talk me through it!" Barry argued.

"Barry, please... This is Ronnie... I have to do this." Sophia pleaded.

Dr. Wells sighed in defeat and waved them on. "Go!" He yelled.

Barry grabbed her around the waist and hoisted her into his arms and flashed her to the location.

"Professor Stien!" Barry yelled.

"What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here! Get her out of here NOW!" Stein screamed.

Before Barry had a chance to stop her, Sophia had made her way to him.

"Wait! Ronnie's still in there!"

"All those people Clarissa... I won't let them die. It's better off I end this now." Barry stepped forward protectively as Ronnie raised a gun.

"We can separate you! We can stop the explosion!" She argued.

"How?" He asks.

"A quantum splicer it's a device designed to bombard your atoms with as much energy as they experience in the particle accelerator explosion. It should be enough to separate you. Please, Professor....you have nothing else to lose." She pleaded with him.

"Ronnie... if you're in there. I love you."

Ronnie reached out to her, grabbing her by the side of her face and he pulled her into a passionate kiss.

"That was from him." He said.

"I look forward to meeting you in person, Professor," Sophia said smiling. She then attached the splicer to his chest and walked a few steps backward.

Ronnie began to burst into flames. "It's not working!" Sophia cried.

"He's not gonna make it! He's gonna blow!" Cisco yelled into the comms.

"Barry, get out of there, NOW!" Caitlin shouted.

Barry grabbed her, but she struggled.

"No! No! Ronnie!" She cried.

"Come on, Sophie. We have to go." Barry said then wraps her up in his arms and speeds away.

"Barry? Barry? What happened out there?" Dr. Wells asks his strained voice echoed through his earpiece.

"Are you guy's okay?" Caitlin asked.

"I think so," Barry reported back.

"Shit! The nuclear explosion. There is no telling how much radiation we were exposed to." Sophia said.

"Wait... this can't be. The guider counter in the suit is reading less than one Mila read." Cisco muttered.

"But that's normal." Barry states.

"Which means there's no radiation," Caitlin said over the coms.

Barry scooped her back up in his arms and raced them back to the bomb site.
The explosion had left a deep trench in the middle of the snowy landscape. They began to climb down it. Barry couldn't see anything through the dusty smoke; no bodies, no quantum splicer, nothing.

"Guys, did it work? Did you separate them?" Caitlin questioned.

"I don't know," Barry responded.

He then followed his sister as she continued further into the settling cloud of ash.

"Tell me your name." She pleaded.

"Ronnie Raymond." He grinned.

Barry smiled. It worked. His nest friend Ronnie is back.

Ronnie gave Sophia a passionate kiss
"It's me, Sophie. I missed you so much." He whispered.

"I missed you too, My Love," She whispers back.

"Uh, pardon me." Everyone looked over. There was Professor Stein, standing awkwardly with tattered clothes and a pinched expression. "But I need a change of clothes."

Relief and happiness filled Barry to the brim, and he chuckled. "Nice to see you in the flesh again, Professor Stein." He glanced down at the couple in the snow. "We're coming home. All of us."

Barry then sees Ronnie and his sister walking towards him.

"Well, look what the cat dragged in," Barry said teasingly.

"You're a punk," Ronnie said as he clapped his hand and pulled him into a tight hug.

"Jerk," Barry replies. "It's good to have you back home."

"It's good to be back."

"Ronnie Raymond!" Cisco said with a goofy smile approaching the group.

"Cisco Ramon!" Ronnie beamed giving him a tight hug.

"I've missed you so much, man!" He said before his face turned solemn and serious.

"I shouldn't have locked you in there."

"Hey... don't." Ronnie stopped him.

"Ronnie!" Caitlin exclaimed hugging him.

"Caitlin!" He exclaimed back hugging her.

"Welcome back Mr. Raymond." Dr. Wells voiced as he strolled down to meet them.

"Dr. Wells. Sophia told me what happened to you. I'm so sorry."

"I'm responsible for me being in this chair and you're responsible for still being alive. Thank you."

Stepping forward, Sophia grabbed onto Ronnie's arm with her attention focused on Dr. Wells.

"You said you'd bring him back... and you did. Thank you." Sophia said smiling genuinely at her mentor.

"You're welcome." He smiled back.

"Excuse me... are we all planning on singing kumbaya next?" Professor Stein called out impatiently.

"Professor Stein I presume?" Dr. Wells asked.

"Harrison Wells. Do you have somewhere I can freshen up and get a change of clothes?"

"Of course." Cisco and Dr. Wells led Professor Stein into the hallway, and Ronnie leaned against the wall, watching them go with a fond smile.
