Caitlin woke up in bed alone, wondering where her Barry went she picks up her phone and reads a text message that was sent to her from him.

Sorry, I wasn't with you when you woke up. I went to S.T.A.R. Labs. So, I made you breakfast. It's your favorite. French toast with blueberries and maple syrup. Enjoy. – Your Barry ❤️

Once she was done with her breakfast she got dressed and headed out the door.

~ S.T.A.R. Labs ~

"You there yet?" Cisco asks as Barry runs into a flaming building.

"Cisco, there's fire everywhere!" No response.

"Cisco, are you still there?" still no response, and at that moment a little girl stumbled into the hallway, crying for her mother.

"It's okay, Sweetheart. You're safe now. I'm gonna bring you back to your Mother."

He scoops her up and runs out of the building, doing the same thing to three more people then Barry speeds off.

"It's good now. Everybody's out." Barry tells Cisco.

"Barry, it's Caitlin."

"Hey, Cait. How's your day been?" He winced.

"Get back to S.T.A.R. Labs. Now!" She ordered.

"On my way," Barry responded immediately.

"Who do you think you are?" Caitlin snapped at Barry as he followed the two of them down from the Cortex room.

"Well, I'm the eyes and ears and he's the feet," Cisco said jokingly.

"This isn't funny you could have gotten yourself killed I just got you back Barry you can't be running around the city like some super-sonic fireman."

"Why not this is what we talked about. Using my speed to do good." Barry argued.

"Oooh, you're definitely sleeping on the couch tonight." Cisco teased earning a glare from Caitlin.

"We talked about you helping us contain other people that might have been affected by the particle accelerator explosion Meta-humans. And, aside from Clyde Mardin, we haven't found any."

"People in this city still need help and I can help them!"

"We can help them." Cisco corrected.

"Will you please say something?" Caitlin pleaded. Barry turned around and saw his sister Sophia.

"She's right for now let's just focus on Meta-humans," Sophia said.

Cisco and Sophia left the couple alone in the Cortex.

"I'm sorry. I can't just stand back and do nothing. I have to do something. I have the ability to help others in need." Barry said cupping her cheek.

"It's just I finally have you back and I'm scared. I don't wanna lose you again." Caitlin said tears rolling down her face.

"Everything is gonna be okay. I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere. I promise." He said hugging her tightly.

"Am I really going to be sleeping on the couch tonight?" Barry jokes.

"No. But you can make it up to me." Caitlin said with a devilish smirk fluttering her eyelashes.

She swung her arms around his neck, pressing her lips softly on his, moaning softly when she felt his hands around her waist pulling her as close as possible.
They get interrupted by the computer which starts to beep. Caitlin walks over and checks the screen.

"Robbery in progress six-armed."

Barry kisses her goodbye and runs to the scene of the crime.

Barry runs to a university gathering celebrating Simon Stagg. There were six armed guys holding everyone hostage. He was about to catch the first guy when he felt a sting feeling himself slip away.

Barry woke up at S.T.A.R Labs in the hospital bed.

"What happened?" He asked.

"You got shot by a high dose of Diazepam," said Caitlin. "It knocked you out completely."

"Those armed guys got away!"

"While you were knocked out we did some tests and it seems those guys were actually one Meta-Human by making multiple clones of himself," said Sophia.

"I think I've got it, Multiplex!" Cisco said

"Also, we did some background check on him. He was an employee at Stagg Enterprise until he was fired. He was working on cellular regeneration. So, he could find a cure for his dying wife. When he was fired Staggs took credit for his work." Caitlin explained.

"That would explain why he was at the gathering he wants revenge."

"Well, he is going to try and kill Simon Stagg again. So, we better be prepared."

"Barry, I can't believe how stupid you're being. You can't take the law into your own hands," Joe said looking pissed.

"I know that you're upset but how are the police supposed to deal with these Meta-Humans."

"Sophia, how can you let your brother risk his life like this?"

"He's just trying to do the right thing. Green Arrow is the hero of Star City and he doesn't have the powers Barry does. He can make a difference." Sophia explained.

"Fine! I don't like it but I understand. I wanted to tell you that there is another presentation. Staggs didn't listen. So, the armed men are gonna strike again."

"This is perfect. Caitlin, Do you wanna come with me to the Simmon Staggs presentation?"

"Of course. Let's go."

Barry and Caitlin head to their apartment and get dressed for the party.

Barry Allen

Caitlin Snow

"You look beautiful, Snowflake."

"And you look handsome as always, Teddy Bear." She said and kisses him.

"Let's go the presentation is about to start." He walked with her hand in hand.

Caitlin and Barry were talking about Simon Stagg's work. When a few shots rang out.

A few people screamed and everyone dropped to the ground. "Go, Barry, go!" Caitlin hissed in his ear.

"There are too many people watching, I can't!" He whispered back desperately.

The man yelled for silence. "Look at you, wearing your finest jewelry, almost as though you knew we were coming to rob you! Now everyone lines up!"

As people started dropping their valuables in a bag, Barry began to move. But Caitlin grabbed his arm. "Wait, Barry, there are still people watching."

But then the cop came in, clutching a gun. All of the masked men turned in unison, raising their weapons. 4 shots rang out at the same moment, and Barry was on the move.

He chased the men outside, but before he could stop them, the world was spinning and finally turning black.

When he woke up, Caitlin was standing over him and his cheek was stinging.

"Did you... slap me?"

"Yes, I did," Caitlin said, her eyes blazing. "Why didn't you tell me about all of this? Barry, you passed out. I came out here, and... and I thought you were dead!" She said her voice rose dramatically in pitch and her fists clenched.

"I-I'm fine, Caitlin..."

"No, you're not." She grasped his upper arm and yanked him to his feet. "We are going back to S.T.A.R. Labs to run some tests now."

~ S.T.A.R. Labs ~

"You fainted! I thought I told you to eat more!" Caitlin scolded.

"I'm sorry. I forgot. I didn't get the chance to eat in the morning and Cisco told me that there was a house on fire. So, I had to go."

"Who knows what's going on inside your body right now. We still only know a little bit about what you can do and you fucking forget." Caitlin said eyes blazing.

"Snowflake..."

"Don't Snowflake me!" She snapped storming out of the room.

Barry slouched miserably on his bed as Cisco went to go after her.

"I messed it up, Sophie."

"Hey, it's okay, Barry. She'll forgive you. Just let her blow off some steam."

"I'm not gonna lecture you right now because Caitlin already chewed your ass off but I'm still angry," Sophia said and Barry chuckled.

Sophia then slaps him upside on the head.

"Ouch," Barry said rubbing the back of his head.

Feeling guilty Barry started to follow the path he had seen Caitlin go, stopping when he saw her standing alone sobbing.

Barry pulled Caitlin into his arms and tightened his grip around her waist.

"I'm sorry."

She leaned into his chest crying.

"I'm the one who should apologize. You didn't deserve to be yelled at," she said sniffing.

"It's okay, Cait. I know why you yelled at me. I'm just sorry that I'm making you worry so much."

"I will always worry about you, Bear. It's not easy but someone has to stop these Meta-Humans and like you said you have a will to protect the people of Central City. I'm just frustrated with myself because I wanna keep you safe... I don't wanna lose you."

"I promise. I will always come back running towards you. you're my home, Snowflake." Barry said. She leaned into him and gave him a tenderly sweet kiss.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

~ Moments Later ~

"Sorry," Caitlin murmured as she cleaned the cuts on Barry's face. He winced at the sting of the rubbing alcohol. "The abrasions are already rapidly healing." No matter how much sense it made, it was still strange to see injuries heal this fast. Not that she wanted to have Barry hurt at all, but this was science. That's what she did.

"I got my ass handed to me," Barry muttered.

"You got blood on my suit," Cisco complained from where he was standing with a spray bottle and rag, cleaning the Flash suit.

"Not helping, Cisco. Plus Barry was practically fighting at least 10 attackers without any training. It's no wonder they kicked his ass." Sophia said.

"Thanks, sis." Barry scoffed. "I don't see what the point is of me having speed if I can't even stop meta's."

"You're still learning," Caitlin told him, wiping up the rest of the blood, and kissing his cheek she smiled. "You'll get there."

"Thanks, Cait." He gave a weak grin back.

Even so, there was nothing she could say to make him stay. He was done. Barry walked out of S.T.A.R. Labs feeling like nothing he could do would ever be enough. He couldn't take on the meta. He couldn't save his mom. When was he going to learn that trying didn't help?

But when Caitlin's number popped up on his cell, he picked it up. "What's wrong?" He asked worriedly.

"You need to get to S.T.A.R. Labs right now!"

Terrified, he gave a quick excuse to Iris and flashed away. When he got to the lab, Danton Black was standing, motionless, in front of his friends, sister, and girlfriend.

"Barry, it's okay!" Caitlin was quick to tell him, brushing her hair out of her face from where it had blown from the wind he created.

"It's not okay!" Barry yelled, "Black is here and he's-" He stopped, centimeters from the dark-haired man's face. "Just... standing there. That's not him, is it." Feeling rather ridiculous, he turned back to his friends.

Cisco and Sophia are smiling. "It's one of his replicates." Dr. Wells said from his wheelchair.

"How did you get it?"

"I grew him." A proud and goofy smile crept across Caitlin's face.

She showed him the screen of the lab's T.V. "I isolated a cell of Black's blood from your suit to see if I could trigger his multiplication process and learn how Black multiplies. So I exposed the cells to a protein gel and they began replicating."

Barry poked Black's chest but glanced at her as she came to stand beside him. He waved a hand in front of the clone's face.

"Why isn't he -it- doing anything?"

"The clones are an empty shell without Black Shut down the real Black, and you might shut them all down."

Barry wasn't convinced, though her smile helped a bit. "How do we know which one is the real Danton Black?"

"Black has limits, just like you. Controlling all of those clones must require a tremendous amount of physical strength." Caitlin got more excited as she explained, gesticulating with her hands. "So look for the one with signs of weakness or fatigue. He's the original."

~ Much Later ~

There were too many clones. Panting, Barry sped away a few yards. Caitlin spoke in his ear. "Remember, Barry. Find the prime."

"There's too many of them to fight." He croaked.

"Barry," Wells instructed. "You need to isolate the prime."

"I can't," Barry said desperately. "It's impossible."

Caitlin leaned over the mic. "Nothing is impossible Barry, you taught me that. You can do this. I believe in you." Caitlin smiled. That was exactly what Barry needed to hear from her.

Barry felt a new sense of purpose at her words. He spun around and ran back into the fray.

The battle didn't last long after that.

"Barry, are you alright?" Sophia yelled in his ear.

I'm okay, Sophie." He panted. "I'm fine. It's done."

Everyone in S.T.A.R. Labs relaxed at those words. Caitlin sent a glance at Cisco and broke into a relieved smile. Her legs felt like jelly and her heart was pounding.

But then Danton Black ran at him one more time, and Barry, even though he tried, was forced to drop him. Black fell and landed, dead, on the street.

Barry walked into S.T.A.R Labs and changed out of his suit, Caitlin hovering over him the whole time, trying to figure out if he was hurt in any way, shape, or form. He waved her off, though, and she sat back down.

"When I was out there," Barry told them, "I realized something. We were all struck by that lightning."

"Well said, Mr. Allen." Dr. Wells commented, before wheeling his chair away.

"That was so cheesy, Barry," Sophia commented leaving.

Cisco walked off to his lab and Caitlin moved over to Barry. "You did a good job, Babe." She smiled.

"I didn't save Black." He felt the weight on his shoulder, the weight of every death he couldn't stop.

"Black did that to himself." Caitlin laid a hand on his arm. "There was nothing you could have done. Come on let's go home."

"Okay, Do you want to watch a movie?" Barry asks.

"Sure. How about Captain America First Avenger?"

"You only wanna watch the First Avenger because you have a crush on Chris Evans," Barry said.

"Guilty. You know me so well but also cause it's a good movie."

"Fine. Only for you."

He picked up Caitlin's bridal style and speeds to their apartment. Barry and Caitlin are now cuddling on the couch in their pajamas and watching the movie.
Eventually, Caitlin falls asleep on Barry's lap. He picked her up bridal style and takes her to their bedroom. He tucked her in and spoons her soon Barry falls asleep too.
