~ Allen Household ~

Nora Allen, Barry's mother, nurses him after a group of kids has beaten him, while a little girl is playing on the floor quietly.

"Tell me what happened?" She asked.

"Some bullies were picking on kids. Just because they thought they weren't cool. It wasn't right." Barry answered.

"It was brave of you to stand up for them."

"I guess I wasn't fast enough."

"No. You have such a good heart, my beautiful boy. And it's better to have a good heart than fast legs."

"I'm home," Henry yelled entering the house.

"Daddy!" The little girl exclaimed as she raised her arms in the air wanting to be picked up.

"Hello, Sweet Pea," Henry said, lifting his daughter in the air. Sophia giggles and he kisses her cheek.

"Our son got into another fight again," Nora informed her husband.

"Oh, yeah?" Henry asked while holding his daughter in his arms.

Nora nods. "And he won."

"Ah, way to go, Slugger." Henry said proudly. Nora gave him a look. "Oh, and no more fighting. Okay?"

Barry nods. Henry smiles, ruffling his hair.

"Now, who's hungry?"

Barry and Sophia raised their hands in excitement.

"Pizza!" They said in unison. Henry and Nora laughed.

"Pizza it is." He said smiling at his family.

~ Later ~

Barry is sleeping peacefully when suddenly he was awakened by his mother's scream coming from downstairs.

"Mom!" Barry said startled.

He immediately runs downstairs and sees something terrifying unfold in front of him.

"Barry!" Nora called out to her son.

"Mom!" Barry calls back.

Flashes of red and yellow lighting surround her mother.

Henry runs downstairs as he carried a crying Sophia in his arms.

"Mommy!" Sophia cried out.

"Sophia!" Nora called out to her daughter.

"Nora!" Henry exclaimed.

"Henry!" Nora called to her husband.

"Barry, take your sister! Run, Barry, run!" Henry yelled.

Barry and his sister are alone on a street. Sophia cries and hugs her brother as the sirens of the police cars get closer and closer.

~ Present Day ~

Barry and Caitlin are cuddled up in bed, sleeping peacefully.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

"Bear, wake up, baby. We have to go to work." She said lightly smacking his chest.

He groans. "Just a few... more minutes, please," Barry mumbled tiredly.

"You say that all the time, and then we wind up late. Now get up, Sleepyhead." Caitlin said getting out of bed.

Barry doesn't move and smirks, wanting to tease her.

"Barry!" Caitlin said getting annoyed.

"I'm only pulling your leg, Snowflake." He said getting out of bed.

"You're so sexy when you're angry." He said and pulls her towards him.

Their bodies are pressed against each other, and he touches her curves. Barry kisses his girlfriend passionately.

"B-Barry... stop that." She said moaning.

"I want you for breakfast." He said and kisses her neck. Caitlin's eyes roll back, and she moans again as Barry leaves a hickey on her neck. She then pushed him onto the bed.

"Let's have sex instead of going to work," Caitlin said.

"Now you're talking," Barry said excitedly.

"Close your eyes, Handsome. I have a surprise for you." She said seductively.

Caitlin then grabs one of Barry's T-shirts and throws it at him.

"Hey, what was that for?" Barry asks, opening his eyes.

"Hurry up, Babe. We're gonna be late." She said giggling.

"I never get what I want." He said grumpily putting on his t-shirt.

Since S.T.A.R. Labs were only a few blocks away, they decided to walk instead.

"I'm sorry that I won't be there when the accelerator turns on."

"It's okay. I know you have a lot going on at the prescient. How was your trip to Star City?" She asked.

"It was great, but I missed you."

"I missed you too."

"And how are you feeling? You have been coming home late recently." Caitlin said concerned.

"A little tired and stressed, but I can handle it. Don't worry, Babe."

"Are you sure? I don't want you to get overwhelmed. Maybe we can take a vacation one of these days. It can relieve the stress and soreness you're feeling." Caitlin puts a hand on his forehead. "You aren't running a fever. I—"

"—You're so cute when you're in doctor mode." He smiled softly at her.

Caitlin blushed. "That's because I care about you, loveable dork." She said. They then shared a kiss and held hands.

"I'm gonna give you a massage later tonight." She said, smiling at him.

"Will take good care of me, Dr. Snow?"

"Oh, I will, Mr. Allen." She winked and giggles.

They arrived at S.T.A.R. Labs and kissed goodbye.

"I love you." He said.

"I Love you more." She said.

Caitlin then entered S.T.A.R. Labs and was greeted by Barry's sister, Sophia. They hugged each other.

"Hey, Cait. You were almost late again."

"Hey, Sophie. Sorry, but Barry didn't want to get out of bed today."

"That's the third time this week. I'm worried."

"Me too. He's been so stressed out as of late and with the trip to Star City that he took it could have caused him to get more stressed out and tired."

"Is he coming to see the particle accelerator activate?" Sophia asked.

Caitlin shakes her head. "He really wanted to meet Dr. Wells and be there for us, but he's got work to finish up at the precinct."

"I'll talk to Captain Singh and see if I can help him out."

"Thanks, that would mean a lot." Caitlin smiled.

"Anything for my brother and his girlfriend." Sophia smiles back.

"How are you and Ronnie doing? Have you and him decided on a date for the wedding yet?" She asked.

"We're doing great. Ronnie and I have decided to get married in about 4 months. I was also wondering if you wanted to be my Maid Of Honor and for Barry to be the Best Man?"

"Of course! I would love to and Barry as well."

They hugged again and smiled.

"So, where's Cisco?" Caitlin asked and they looked around. Cisco quietly walked behind them.

"Boo!" He yelled, scaring them. Cisco chuckled like a clown.

"You two are too easy. You should have seen your faces." He mocked them.

"Don't do that!" Sophia said and smacked him in the chest.

"Ow! That hurt!" He said, rubbing his chest.

"You deserved it," Sophia said, smiling. Caitlin giggles.

"Come on, Dr. Wells is about to start the meeting," Sophia said, grabbing Caitlin's hand.

~ Crime Scene ~

Joe West, the inspector, accompanied by Inspector Fred Chyre are at the scene of the crime.

"Second robbery this week" Chyre states.

"The teller ID'd Clyde Mardon as the shooter," West said.

"What? Oh, geez, the Mardon brothers are back. Didn't we already put those low-lives in prison?"

"Yeah, on a 10-20 stretch, which in Central City's warped mess, comes to two years served."

"What do we have?" Singh asked.

"The perps took the bank, shot out the cameras, and as a chaser, killed the security guard over there. I got units kicking in doors of known Mardon brothers associates." Joe said.

"CSI been over it?"

"Uh, no."

"Where's Allen!?"

"Sorry! Sorry." Barry calls out, arriving late to the crime scene.

"You can't keep covering for him," Singh says to West.

"CSI! CSI! Coming through." Barry says moving through the crowd.

"If he's not here, I'm going to have to carry on this investigation without him," Singh said.

"Sorry I'm late, Captain Singh."

"What was it this time, Mr. Allen? Did you forget to set your alarm clock? Before you answer, I should remind you, the excuse you gave me last time was car trouble. Do you wanna know why that one was particularly memorable?"

"Because I don't own a car. My girlfriend does." Barry answers.

"He was running an errand for me. Barry, did you get me what I asked for?" Joe asked.

"Yeah. I did. I have it right here. I had a few bites of it." Barry said, handing Joe his breakfast to him.

Barry is hunched on the ground examining the tire tracks. While West notes the observations.

"The getaway car is a Mustang Shelby GT-500. Shelby's has a rear super-wide tire specific to that model. Hmm, there's something else."

Barry takes the pen of Fred Chyre to pick up the excrement, he transferred it to a plastic bag for analysis.

"Thanks. Fecal excrement. Animal, I'd guess."

"My dad gave me that pen. Before he died." Chyre said.

"Sorry." Barry apologized.

~ Barry's Lab ~

Iris, the daughter of Joe West, with which Barry and Sophia were raised from the death of his mother, arrives.

"Hey! I am ready to see this atom smasher smashing." Iris said coming into the room.

"There was a shooting today. Your Dad needs me to process some evidence. Which means I don't know if we're gonna be able to make it to S.T.A.R. Labs." Barry said.

"I got you covered. My Dad talked to Captain Singh to permit you to go for a few minutes."

"Thanks, Iris."

"Plus, I canceled a date for this
So, what is so important about this particle accelerator anyway?"

"Harrison Wells's work in quantum theory is light-years ahead of anything they're doing at CERN."

"You're doing that thing where you're not speaking English."

"Ok. Just imagine that this dot is everything the human race has ever learned until this moment."

"Does that include twerking?"

"That is everything we could learn from the particle accelerator. It's a whole new way of looking at physics. It will literally change the way that we think about everything."

"You're so lucky Caitlin loves you so much, you lovable dork."

"Hey, leave him alone, he's working," Joe tells his daughter.

"Hi, Dad. It's done." Iris says.

"I think the Mardon brothers are hiding on a farm. The fecal matter I found on the street, was cow manure, which contains traces of oxytetracycline. It's an antibiotic. There are only four farms in the area that still use it in their feed. I bet you find a very sweet Shelby parked at one of them." Barry explained.

~ Outside of S.T.A.R. Labs ~

Iris and Barry are walking together.

"So, Barry. How was your trip? Did you find proof of the impossible in Star City, or did you just make Caitlin, Sophia, and my Dad angry for no reason?" Iris asked.

"Actually, while I was away, I had a chance to think about my relationship with Caitlin. I'm going to propose. I already have the ring and I hope she says yes." Barry said excitingly.

"That's awesome Barry! Sophia is getting married, and you're going to propose. But why wouldn't she say yes? You two have been together since High school, it's about time you pop the question."

"Thanks, Iris. You're right."

She nods and smiles.

"Barry!"

He turned around and got tackled by his sister and girlfriend.

He hugs them back. Caitlin and Barry shared a kiss.

"Hey, Cait. I thought you said that Bear wouldn't be here." Sophia said.

"Yeah, me too," Caitlin said.

"I just came to see my two favorite people in the world..."

"Hey! What about me?" Iris said crossing her arms and pouting.

"Right three favorite people in the world and see Harrison Wells speech, but also I have to get back to the precinct because the captain only gave me a few minutes to be here,"

"Well, before you leave Sophia asked me to be Maid of Honor, Iris to be a Bridesmaid, you to be the Best Man, and Cisco to be a Groomsman."

"That's great. I would love to." Barry said and smiled, hugging his sister.

"Omg! Thank you!" Iris said also hugging Sophia.

"No problem. We're family after all." Sophia said smiling.

"Hey, what did  I miss?" Cisco asked.

"You're going to be a Groomsman at my wedding," Sophia said.

"That's great but I wanted to be the Best Man," Cisco said pouting.

"But I already told Barry to be Best Man. Ronnie told me to tell him. Besides Ronnie knows Barry longer than you," Sophia explained.

"Can I at least plan the Bachelor Party?" Cisco said with a smirk.

"Sure. If you're up for it." Sophia said smiling.

"Yes! Ronnie, we'll not be disappointed."

"We have to go. Dr. Wells is about to start," Sophia said grabbing Caitlin's hand and hurrying up the stage with Cisco.

"Bye, baby," Caitlin said waving.

"Bye, Sweetcheeks," Barry said waving back with a smirk, and Caitlin blushed.

Dr. Wells arrives on stage and starts his speech.

"Thank you. My name is Harrison Wells. Tonight, the future begins. The work my team and I will do here will change our understanding of physics. Will bring about advancements in power, advancements in medicine, and trust me that future will be here faster than you think." Harrison says into the mic.

A thief snatched Iris's bag.

"Ow! Hey, my laptop! It's got my dissertation." Iris cries out.

Barry runs after the thief.

"I'm sorry," Barry said as the thief was cornered.

"All right, kid, you don't have to do this, all right? Just give me back my friend's bag, and we'll call it even. Ok?" Barry tells the thief.

The thief strikes Barry and runs away. Iris arrives.

"Barry! Are you ok?" Iris asked.

"Yeah, I think so." He gets up rubbing his cheek.

Further, the thief is arrested by Eddie Thawne.

"Freeze! Police! Or do you want to find out the hard way you're not faster than a bullet?" Eddie shouted.

~ CCPD ~

"Who is that guy, and what is he so proud of? So, he caught a mugger." Iris said.

"He's a transfer from Keystone. Started a few weeks ago. Eddie Thawne." Barry replied.

"Oh, that's Detective Pretty Boy. That's what my dad calls him. Says he actually keeps score when it comes to arrests. He is pretty tough."

"Well, if you're interested in him, Iris. Then you should go talk to him. I heard he's single." Barry encouraged.

"Maybe I will," Iris smirked.

~ Barry's Lab ~

Barry arrives in his laboratory. A storm rages outside. He turns on the television to follow the story on the particle accelerator.

"I'm Linda Park, and we're here live outside of Star Labs, despite the inclement weather which is only going to get worse. The torrential downpour has in no way affected the particle accelerator, which is up and running smoothly according to S.T.A.R. Labs CEO Harrison Wells..." The news anchorwoman said on the TV.

Barry removed the cloth which hides the table on which he gathers all the information he continues to find about the murder of his mother, Nora.

"Wait, we are now being told to evacuate the facility. The storm may have caused a malfunction in the primary cooling system. Officials are now trying to shut down the particle accelerator. But so far have been unable to regain—" Linda is cut off.

At this time, the power is off, Barry sees an explosion above S.T.A.R. Labs.

"Oh, my God! Cait! Sophie! Please, be okay." He said horrified.

He was about to grab his jacket when lightning strikes him, leaving him unconscious and knocking over chemicals in his lab.
