Ember's guttural roar tore through the chaos as the female Mewtwo's talons sank mercilessly into her neck. Hot blood slicked the scales beneath the dragon's jaw, but she thrashed wildly, her wings beating like storm winds in a desperate attempt to shake her attacker loose. The Mewtwo clung to her with savage determination, eyes blazing with a hatred older than reason.

"You will pay for what you did to my newborns," the Mewtwo snarled, her voice like shards of ice. Her fangs gleamed before sinking deeper into Ember's flesh, pain igniting like fire along the dragon's spine. "You poison this world, and you think you belong here?"

Ember's growl rumbled deep in her chest. "I don't need your permission to exist," she spat, swiping at the Mewtwo with a curved claw. Her strike found purchase, tearing a gash along the Mewtwo's side. The psychic creature hissed but did not relent.

Not far away, Godzilla was locked in his own brutal struggle against the male Mewtwo. The kaiju's towering form was battered by relentless aerial strikes, the Mewtwo darting through the air with unnatural speed. Each dive brought claws raking across Godzilla's armored hide. He roared in frustration, swinging his colossal tail in a desperate attempt to swat the Mewtwo from the sky.

"Godzilla, use your atomic breath!" Ember grunted as she dodged another swipe from the female Mewtwo.

"I can't," Godzilla bellowed, muscles straining as he ducked beneath the Mewtwo's outstretched wings. "Not while you're still standing!"

Ember grimaced. Fire was her weapon, but unleashing it here would incinerate everythingβ€”the buildings, the remaining humans, and perhaps even Godzilla himself. Most of the civilians had fled, but some lingered, clinging to hope or paralyzed by fear. She couldn't risk it. Not here.

Her mind raced. If she could get the Mewtwo into the water, she would have the advantage. The psychic beast was powerful on land, but it was heavy and ungainly. Water would be its undoing.

With a fierce beat of her wings, Ember launched herself skyward, creating a hurricane of wind and debris in her wake. The female Mewtwo roared in fury as part of a building crumbled into her path.

"You won't escape, murderer!" the Mewtwo shrieked, tearing through the rubble as she gave chase.

Ember's wings sliced through the sky, each beat propelling her closer to the vast expanse of the ocean. She dove without hesitation, her sleek form slicing through the water's surface like a blade. The Mewtwo hesitated at the shoreline, fury contorting her features.

Godzilla, panting from his battle, turned his gaze toward the sea. Understanding dawned in his eyes. "Good thinking, Ember," he rumbled.

With a final, earth-shattering roar, he clamped his jaws around the male Mewtwo's throat, slamming the creature onto a jagged spike of rock. The Mewtwo's body convulsed before falling still, blood pooling beneath it. Godzilla wasted no time, thundering toward the water to join his partner.

The female Mewtwo flailed in the waves, her movements clumsy and desperate. She was powerful, but the ocean was foreign to her. Ember circled beneath the surface like a predator, her scales shimmering in the dim light.

Godzilla dove in beside her, their movements synchronized as they attacked from below and above, dragging the Mewtwo deeper with every strike. The psychic beast's roars became choked gurgles as water filled her lungs.

With a final surge of energy, Ember unleashed a beam of pure radiation directly into the Mewtwo's gaping maw. The blast tore through her skull, obliterating her completely. Blood blossomed in the water like a dark flower before fading into the depths.

Ember surfaced first, her sides heaving with exertion. Godzilla rose beside her, his eyes narrowing as he noticed the wound across her flank.

"You're hurt," he growled, sniffing the air. The acrid scent of acid blood made his nostrils flare. "We need to get you somewhere safe."

"My home isn't far," he offered, voice rough with concern.

Ember shook her head, grimacing as blood seeped from her jaws. "No," she said quietly. "The radiation won't heal this. I'm sorry, Godzilla." Her voice softened, tinged with sorrow. "But I have to go."

"No," Godzilla rumbled, stepping closer. "You can't. You're going to die."

Ember managed a weary smile, her eyes filled with a bittersweet resolve. "I guess that's my destiny, isn't it?" She pressed her snout gently against his, a gesture of farewell. "Don't worry. We'll see each other again."

With a powerful beat of her wings, Ember took to the sky, each stroke of her wings more labored than the last. She tilted dangerously, nearly toppling into the waves, but she steadied herself, flying toward the horizon.

Godzilla watched in silence, sorrow heavy in his chest. The mainland was quiet now, save for the distant crash of waves.

He knew she was goneβ€”for now. But deep down, he believed he would see her again. And when that time came, they would fight side by side once more.
