The Last Breath
The clash of titans raged around me, the echo of Godzilla's battle with the mechanical monstrosity reverberating in the very ground beneath us. I watched, my breath heavy and ragged as the smoke swirled in the air, a sharp, metallic scent mingling with the salty ocean breeze. The robotic beast, a grotesque creation, loomed over Godzilla with its cold, glowing red eyes, but I wasn't about to let it harm my king.
I felt the surge of power in my veins, my wings flaring as I charged forward. With a snarl, I gripped the machine's arm and, with all my strength, tore it free. The limb crunched and splintered under the pressure. I didn't hesitate—like Ghidorah, I summoned a crackling storm of electricity, a force so raw it seemed to crackle through the very air, and sent it spiraling into the mechanical beast. The explosion was deafening, and in the chaos that followed, the machine collapsed to the ground in a heap of twisted metal and lifeless sparks.
Leaping off the wreckage, I spun around and rushed to Godzilla's side, his massive frame heaving on the sand. "My king, my king, are you alright?" I asked, my voice thick with concern. His breath was shallow, his great body seemingly struggling to rise.
He coughed and grumbled, rubbing his aching jaw. "Yes, my Queen, I'm alright." But despite his words, I saw the strain in his eyes as he stared at the fallen robot. "That thing packs a punch, eh Faruell?"
I scoffed, my chest still heaving from the adrenaline. "It's dea—"
Before I could finish, a searing, fiery beam of red energy cut through the air, striking me square in the back. My world went up in flames, and I felt an agonizing burn slice through my body. My heart seemed to wither and fade, and I gasped, unable to keep my balance. The pain was unbearable.
I roared, but my wings faltered, sending me crashing to the sand with a heavy thud. The world spun around me as I laid there, stunned, breath shallow and labored.
"Syra!" Godzilla's voice shattered the world around me, desperation coating his words. I felt his massive claws gently cradling my head, his touch warm despite the tension in the air.
I wheezed, trying to speak, but my throat felt like it was closing. "M...my king," I whispered hoarsely. I could see the worry in his eyes as he leaned down, pressing his face against mine.
Kong appeared, holding the King's Ax, his grip tight on the weapon. "Wait, let me try this," he said, his voice filled with urgency. He positioned the ax near my mouth, hoping to force the radiation into me, but I couldn't gather the strength to take it. My vision blurred.
"I...I am dying," I gasped out, feeling my strength ebb away like a river that had reached its final shore. My wings fluttered weakly as I met Godzilla's gaze. My heart ached as I spoke the words I feared I'd never say. "I love you, Godzilla, my king. Hope you know that." My voice cracked with the weight of the admission.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I struggled to keep consciousness. "A-also...I...I have...an egg," I gasped. The words left my lips barely above a whisper, but they carried with them a future I'd never see.
I could only hope that, somehow, they would remember.
Godzilla's massive eyes, filled with terror and anguish, locked onto mine as I spoke. His grip on me tightened, his claws trembling as if afraid to let go. The air felt suffocating, heavy with the weight of my words.
"Your egg," I rasped, the pain in my chest unbearable, both physical and emotional. "It's hidden in Hollow Earth, from when we were there." I swallowed hard, the words tasting bitter on my tongue. "I laid it where no one could find it. The humans... they don't know about it." My breath hitched, my body trembling with the last remnants of strength. "You must go with Kong..." I gasped, each word feeling like it would tear me apart. "And raise... it."
Tears, hot and bitter, streamed down my scales, tracing the sharp lines of my features. My wings fluttered weakly, as if they too were too exhausted to carry me any longer. "I love you, my king," I whispered, barely a breath, the final confession that had waited so long to escape me.
As I spoke the words, I felt my body grow cold, my vision dimming. My head slipped from Godzilla's gentle grasp, my strength completely failing me. The world around me fractured into shards, spinning and shattering like a fragile mirror. Everything became distant, far away.
And then, nothing.
The roar of the world faded into silence.
