Kathleen was seated between Lucas and Max. Her head was leaning back against the automobile seat, and she was feeling very unwell as a result of the recent occurrences. "Not to be a wimp, but can I sit in the car? Cause this is gonna totally and royally suck." Robin said, leaning her head on her palm.

"It'll be fine." Nancy replied.

"I can't stand to see those dull eyes of Eddie's break again. I really, really can't." Robin mumbled.

"At least he can drink himself into feeling better." Steve said, Kathleen moved her hand back and flicked Steve, causing him to flick her back.

"Why don't we give it a trial?" Robin started, ignoring the comments in the back. "Hey, Eddie. Uh, good news first this time. We got you some Dustin-approved junk food and that six-pack you requested. Oh yeah, and we found Vecna. Bad news is that he's in that other,darker, much scarier dimension,and the gate's closed,so we have no way of getting to him. He's entirely shut off to us,so basically you're screwed. And, no, I know you were already screwed,but now you're doubly, triply screwed." Robin spoke quickly as she started to drag on.

"Wait. Maybe we don't put it like that."

They rolled up to the area, which was supposed to be calm but was now crowded with police officers. "Oh,shit." Nancy said.

Kathleen became enraged when she saw them pull up an image of Eddie. He was the prime suspect now. "This is ridiculous, Eddie isn't behind any of this. I'm going to beat Jason in every-way possible." she said.

Dustin's walkie-talkie began to speak, sounding very much like Eddie. "Dustin, can you hear me?"

"Eddie, holy shit." Dustin said, Kathleen immediately sighed in relief at the response of her cousin. "Are you okay?"

"Nah, man. Pretty... Pretty goddamn far from okay." Eddie laughed slightly.

"Where are you?"

"Skull Rock. Do you know it?" Eddie questioned.

"Uh, yeah. That's near Cornwallis and..."

"Garret, yeah." Steve said. "I know where that is."

"Hold tight. We're coming. We're coming."

"Dude, I'm telling you,you're taking us the wrong way." Steve said, Kathleen walked behind them as the group make their way to skull rock.

"It's north. I'm positive. I checked the map." Dustin responded, he looked down at the compass in his hand.

"You do realize Skull Rock, it's a super popular make-out spot?"

"Yeah,so?" Dustin asked.

"Yeah, well, it wasn't popular until I made it popular." Steve explained, now it was Kathleen's turn to roll her eyes. "All right? I practically invented it."

"We're heading in the wrong direction." As he continued walking in a separate way, Steve insisted.

"Steve. Where are you going? Steve!"

"Stop whining. Let's go. Trust me." Steve said, as he continued to walk through the woods.
Kathleen had had enough of their squabbles. She followed them both till they got at the rock formation. Known as skull rock.

"Bada bing, bada boom. There she is, Henderson. " Steve smirked, placing a hand on his hip. "Skull Rock. In your face, man. In your stupid, cocky little face."

"Perhaps I was wrong, Steve, you're definitely still a child," she replied as she walked passed him and glanced over the rocks. Looking for any sign of Eddie.

"Yeah, yeah. Even with it staring you in the face, you can't admit it. Can't admit you're wrong, you butthead." Steve taunted, ignoring Kathleen's comments.

"I concur." Eddie stated as he leapt onto a rock. "You, Dustin Henderson, are a...Total butthead."

"Jesus, we thought you were a goner." Dustin sighed in relief, he pulled the older boy into a hug.

"Yeah, me too, man." Eddie said, patting the boy on his back. "Me too."

" Oh my God, Eddie." Kathleen drew her cousin into a hug, and he relaxed into her arms. She was just relieved to see him.

Eddie had taken a seat beneath the rock. Kathleen sat next to him, tending to a bruise on his arm. She was scared for what was to come as they discussed what was to follow.

"When I got to the shore, I tried calling you guys, but, uh...My walkie was busted, man. Drenched. So, uh, I did the thing that I do now, apparently. I ran" Eddie laughed out of either shock or nervousness.

"Do you know what time this was? The attack?" Nancy asked.

"Yeah, no, I... I know exactly what time it was." Eddie looked down at his watch, pulling it off from his wrist. "My walkie wasn't the only thing that got soaked." He added, he threw the watch over towards Nancy's.

"9:27"

"Same time our flashlights went kablooey."Robin said.  Adding onto a theory that was being built.

"Which means what, exactly?"Steve asked.

"That that surge of energy was Vecna attacking Patrick."

"Well, we're one step closer." Robin muttered. "We know how Vecna attacks."

"And where he attacks from." Lucas says, adding to the story.

"So now we just need to sneak into his lair in the Upside Down. And drive a stake through his heart." Max finished, their plan in motion was kinda smart.

"If he had a heart. " Robin replied.

"A stake? Is he like a vamp?" Steve asked. "Is he a vampire?"

Max rolled her eyes at Steve. "It was a metaphor."

"A bullet should work on him, right?" Eddie asked. Looking at the group.

"I say we chop his head off."

"All of the above, but we can't do any of that til we find a way into the Upside Down.We need El to get her powers back."

"Everything was way easier. We had this girl. She had super-." Steve started until Eddie cut him off.

"Superpowers. Yeah, you mentioned her." Eddie nodded. He looked over to see Dustin. "Hey, uh, Henderson's not,uh, cursed, is he?"

"Cursed? No, no. He's fine." Steve shakes his head. "Mental? Absolutely."

Kathleen turned to see what Eddie was staring at. The two Munsons were quite interested in what the boy was doing. Steve glanced at them, and just looking at them made him feel strange in a way he has never felt before.

"Boom! Bada ... bada... boom. I was right. Skull Rock was north." Dustin said, he turned around to face them. knocking Steve out of his weird phase.

"Seriously? You're serious?" Steve questioned, he turned to point at the large rock in front of them. "This is Skull Rock. Okay? You're totally, absolutely,100% wrong. Right now."

"yes" Dustin nodded, before shaking his head. "And no."

"Oh my God."

"This worked correctly when we left the Wheelers. Correct when we got in the car on Curly. But it started to slip the further east we went. Now it's way off. When I was leading us here, I wasn't wrong." Dustin argued.

"So you're using faulty equipment. You're still wrong." Steve says, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Except it isn't faulty." Dustin said, he turned to Lucas. "Lucas, remember what can affect a compass?"

lucas paused, trying to think of what to say. "An electromagnetic field."

"yep"

"Sorry. I must've skipped that class." Robin said, completely confused at the conversation.

"In the presence of a stronger electromagnetic field, the needle will deflect towards that power." Dustin explained. "So either there's some super big magnet around here, or..."

"There's a gate."

"But we're nowhere near the lab." Nancy shakes her head.

"But what if, somehow,there's another gate?A gate that we don't know about. It'd have to be smaller. Way less powerful."

"How? Why?"

Dustin turned around. "No idea. All I know is that something is causing this disturbance, and the last time we've seen anything like it, it was a gate. And I hope it is because then we'd have a way to Vecna. And a shot at freeing Max from this curse." Dustin started to move down the hill.

"Where are you going? Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey." Steve stopped, grabbing Dustin's attention. "Eddie's still a wanted man. We can't just go hike in the woods."

"This little steel capsule might be the key to saving both Max and Eddie. " Dustin responded, he turned to Eddie who was looking back at him. "What say you, Eddie the Banished?"

Kathleen looked at him, intrigued because she, too, wanted to know. "I say you're asking me to follow you into Mordor, which, if I'm totally straight with you,I think is a really bad idea.But, uh, the Shire...The Shire is burning. So Mordor it is."

"What is Mordor?" Steve asked, they all started to walk away.

"It's the hobbit, maybe you could ask Eddie to tell you all about it." Kathleen replied as she walked by him, holding hands with Robin. Who drew her closer.

Eddie, who was picking up his food, turned to Steve. "Hmm, Mordor. " he thought to himself. As Eddie trailed behind him, he began to make his way towards the group.
