"You're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the Upside Down? " Nancy questioned as she observed the tiny group discussing what had transpired.

They were seated at the picnic table in the trailer park where she and Eddie used to sit when her dad got tired of their screaming matches. She turned to face the trailer that had been tapped by the police. Her home had transformed into some sort of underworld tube, shattering her heart. When Robin saw she was uneasy, she put a hand on her shoulder.

The blonde girl slightly cuddled into the girl's side while grinning. " If the shoe fits " Steve responded, a quick glance at the couple created a small smile on his face.

" Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse." Dustin added. " Now, whether or not he's doing the bidding of the Mind Flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know."

" All we know is this is something different." Max spoke. " Something new."

Nancy makes a head motion." Doesn't make sense."

" It's only a theory."

" No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense." Nancy clarified. " I mean, why them?"

" There have now been two fatalities in the trailer park, what makes this location so unique?" Kathleen inquired.

" Maybe they were just in the wrong place." Dustin suggested. " Were both at the game."

" We're at the trailer park." Steve reminded everyone. " Uh, should we maybe not be here? "

" Steve I've lived here my entire life, it's not haunted or anything." Kathleen argued, protecting the house where she had grown up.

" There is something about this place." Nancy added to the conversation once more. " Fred started acting weird the second we got here. "

" Acting weird as in...? "

" Scared, on edge, upset." Nancy stated

" Max said Chrissy was upset too." Dustin mentioned.

" Chrissy was going through a lot, so it was going to be natural for her to be sad." Kathleen explained.

" Yeah, but not here. " Max informed. "She was crying in the bathroom at school."

" Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right? " Robin offers. " So, maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this Vecman..."

" Vecna " Dustin cuts in.

" Dunno about you, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone."

" Maybe they did. I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley's office. " Max provided the smallest information. " If you saw a monster, you... you wouldn't go to the police. They'd never believe you. But you might go to your..."

" Your Shrink." Robin finished.

Kathleen shuddered slightly, she felt like something was crawling up her skin. Robin looked at her when she noticed the sign and became concerned. " Are you okay? Is there something wrong?" She inquired of the girl, who was suddenly in a strange mood.

Kathleen smiled as she gazed up at the girl. " No, I'm fine. I just had this weird sensation, but I'm fine." She said, wiping away that strange sensation.

Robin was about to speak when Steve spoke up, drawing their attention to him. " Whoa, whoa, Nance. Nance! " Steve called, making the girl turn around. " Were you going? "

" Oh, there's just something I wanna check on first. " She said this while gazing over at her car before returning her attention to them.

" Something you wanna share with us? " Dustin interrogated.

" I don't wanna waste your time. It's a real shot in the dark."

" Yeah, okay. Are you out of your mind? Flying solo with Vecna on the loose? No, it's too dangerous. You need... You need someone to... " Steve said, Robin and Kathleen exchanged glances at each other. " Here. I'll stick with Nance. Take the car, check out the shrink."

Robin caught his keys with a tiny puzzlement, Kathleen stared at him with a raised eyebrow, evidently the lad had forgotten that the girl was in a relationship.

" Don't think you want me driving your car. " Robin replied.

" Why? "

" I don't have a license."

" Why?"

" I'm poor." Robin said, the boy was desperate, and it made him look just sad.

Steve turned to face Kathleen. " And what about you?" He inquired, but the girl simply shakes her head.

" I know how to ride a bike." She offered, right, that was a lie, but she wasn't going to admit it.

" I can drive." Max pipped up.

" No, never again. Please. Anybody but you. No." Steve silenced that thought very quickly. Dustin gave him a look. " No chance. "

" Come on." Dustin's requested

"No."

" All right, okay. This is stupid." Robin stated as she took the walkie talkie and flashlight from Dustin's bag. " Us ladies will stick together. Unless you think we need you to protect us. " Kathleen grinned as Robin ridiculed him and titled her head slightly.

"Kat, do you want to join the ladies?" Robin inquired, her gaze fixed on her girlfriend.

"Hmm, I think I'll stay here with the boys and keep an eye on them, while you guys go get as much information as you can." She said this while blowing a small kiss to her lover and turning towards Steve's automobile. Before turning around with Nancy, Robin reddened slightly at the motion.

" Be careful." Steve said, rolling his eyes as he made his way towards his car.

" Wipe your feet. " Dustin began wiping it on the inside of the car after Steve reminded him. " On the outside, not the inside. " He sighed heavily. " Always the babysitter. Always the goddamn babysitter! " Steve commented, as he got into the car. Kathleen rolled her eyes at his comment.

When they arrived at Ms. Kelly's house, Kathleen watched as Max went inside to find out more about the previous happenings. She returned to the memory of her last words to Chrissy. She couldn't even say goodbye or even realist she was going to lose her best friend.

This monster had taken the nicest soul she had ever known from among the people, and she was now simply gone. Kathleen tried to convince herself that it wasn't her fault, or Eddie's fault. They were only trying to help her, and now her cousin is being pursued for something he did not do. Knowing the locals, they were most likely comparing him to his father. Eddie would never be that man.

" Okay. She's in. " Steve said, drawing Kathleen away from her thoughts. Steve turned his attention to Dustin who was sitting besides him.

" I'm missing collarbones, not eyes." Dustin sarcastic comment almost made the girl snort. It was silent for a moment before Dustin finally spoke up again. " So, we gonna talk about... it?"

" Huh? Sorry, talk about what? " Steve asked.

" Your temporary insanity earlier today when you basically threw yourself at Nance? " Kathleen was likewise eager to hear what Steve had to say.

Steve froze as he heard the statement. He appeared to be formulating an answer. " That's not what happened. "

" Pretty sure that's what happened." Dustin resumed. "It was public. There were a lot of witnesses. It was weird "

" I'm not going to lie, it was pretty strange. " Kathleen intervened in the discussion.

" You implying I still have a thing for Nance?"

" No. I'm not implying. I'm stating. And, as it relates to your steadfast refusal to date Robin"Kathleen's expression was puzzled as she gazed at Dustin. "it's pretty much the only logical explanation."

" Dustin? I'm seeing Robin. Remember," Kathleen remarked as the boy turned to face her with a little grin.

Steve cut them off in their chat. "As for Nance, I was just trying to protect a friend." Dustin looked surprised as Steve looked over. " A friend, Henderson. Okay? "

" Okay "

" Don't wanna find her with her eyes sucked out of her skull by this Vecna creep." Steve said as he attempted to explain his thoughts to Dustin.

" You're bright red in the face right now."

" I'm not. I don't wanna talk about it. I'll punch you so hard your teeth will fall back out. " Kathleen's mouth fell slightly as Steve threatened Dustin. What was the deal with this guy?

" Whoa. Too far."

Steve paused. Just realizing what he had just stated. " Not cool. Sorry. "

" Not cool. It's okay." Dustin nodded, and the two fists bumped in apology, causing Kathleen to smile slightly.

" Steve? "

Steve glanced to Kathleen, a faint smile leaving his face at her expression. " It's just not worth it." She remarked, and he nodded before turning around.

Max emerged with folders in her hand as the car door finally opened. " What'd she say? " Dustin inquired as she sat besides Kathleen.

" Nothing, just drive. " Max insisted. The blonde girl gazed at her, as if something was wrong.

" Steve, drive." Max gave the instruction as Steve began to go down the street. Kathleen extended her hand in front of Max. The redhead girl glanced at her as she intertwined their fingers together softly. If Kathleen was going to accomplish anything, it was to look after her family.

They were all in the car, on their way to high school, when their walkie-talkie unexpectedly sparked. Through it, Lucas Sinclair's voice spoke. "It's Lucas, Dustin, do you copy?" he inquired.

" Lucas? Where the hell have you been?"

" Just listen." Lucas implored, and everyone began to pay attention to what he had to say. " Are you looking for Eddie?" he asked.

" We found him, no thanks to you."

" You found him?"

" A boathouse on Coal Mill Road. " Kathleen looked at Dustin, who had revealed Eddie's hiding place. What if Lucas was in an area where people were looking for him?. " Don't worry. He's safe."

" You guys know he killed Chrissy, right?"

Kathleen, incensed by his statements, went to seize the walkie-talkie.Dustin instantly yanked it away from her, despite his annoyance. " That's bullshit. Eddie tried to save Chrissy."

"Then why do all the cops say he did it?"

Max lean over and took the walkie-talkie. " Lucas, you're so behind it's ridiculous, okay? Just meet us at school. We'll explain later." She explained to him.

" I... I can't." He stumbled nervously. " I think some real bad shit's about to go down."

" What are you talking about? What bad shit? " Max asked. It suddenly became radio silent, Lucas believes Eddie is responsible for Chrissy's death. What else could have come their way besides Vecna?
