When they arrived at Reefer Rick's house, Kathleen was standing in front because she was familiar with the layout. The lights were turned out inside, which may have been done for security reasons in case someone came looking for the wrong reasons.

When Dustin got to the door, he began to ring the bell many times but no answer. " Okay. Well, that's settled. I guess he's not here. " While Steve sighed, Kathleen grinned as she turned to face the boathouse.

" Eddie! It's Dustin!" Dustin yelled and then began to bang on the door with his fist. " Look, we just wanna talk, okay?, No cops, I swear. We just wanna help. Eddie! "

" Dustin, please stop yelling, there are other nasty drug dealers who live in this area and we are definitely do not want them showing up." He stopped abruptly, as Kathleen yelled at him.

When Max spotted the boat shed, she called everyone's attention as they followed Kathleen around the side of the house.

" Hello? "Robin called out, slowly opening the door as they peaked inside." is anyone home? "

As soon as the door opened, thoughts of herself and Eddie laughing filled her head. She recalled the memories of their time here when they were younger, which made her smile

" What a dump. " Steve groused, He retrieved an oar from the wall and began to prod the boat wrapped in a tarp that was in the middle of the space.

Kathleen gave him a frustrated look. " apologies King Steve, that a drug dealer's boat house wasn't luxurious enough for you. " she said.

" What are you doing? " Dustin inquired

" He might be in here. " Steve indicated, there would be a murder if he used it to strike Eddie.

"Steve, Eddie is harmless, so stop doing that or I'll strike you with it," she said. Before detecting something in the tarp, choosing to act unaware.

" So take the tarp off. " Dustin suggested.

"If you're so brave, you take the tarp off." Steve replied

" Someone was here. " Max said as there were wrappers to show that someone had been here.

" Maybe he heard us. Got spooked and ran. " Robin suggested as she was now standing behind Kathleen.

" Don't worry. Steve will get him with his oar. " Dustin affirmed, with a smile.

" I know you think you're being funny, but considering everyone in this room has nearly died a hundred times, personally, I don't find it funny in the slight..." Steve started only for Eddie to suddenly appeared from under the tarp, grabbed Steve, and held him against the wall while squeezing a shattered glass bottle on his neck.

" Eddie! Eddie! It's me. It's Dustin. " Dustin yelled while gesturing with his arms as if he were trying to subdue an animal in the wild. " This is Steve. He's not gonna hurt you, right, Steve? "

" Right, yeah. " Steve replied. Looking between the glass and Eddie. Not really knowing what to look at it.

"Eddie," Kathleen uttered. The boy cautiously turned to face the girl, feeling a tiny kind of relief at seeing her. " No one will harm you, so just let him go. "

Dustin looked at Steve. " Steve, why don't you drop the oar? " When Dustin makes a suggestion, Steve drops it, but Eddie quickly regains control, the noise scaring him.

" He's cool. He's cool. " Dustin calmly said.

" I'm cool, man. I'm cool. "

" What are you doing here?" Eddie questioned, looking at Steve

" We're looking for you. We're here to help. " Dustin reassured. " You know Robin, clearly being close to Kathleen and Max who occasionally visits you guys," He stated as the others waved at him slightly to let him know they weren't attempting to hurt him.

" Eddie. We're on your side. I swear on my mother." In an effort to persuade the man for Steve's sake, Dustin said.

In anticipation of Eddie acting or moving, everyone paused. Not knowing exactly what he would do next

Eddie eventually let Steve go, Kathleen pushed passed both Steve and Dustin out of the way to speak with her cousin. She said to him, "Oh Eddie, it's okay," as he encircled her waist with his arms. He continued to tremble as she ran her fingers through his tangled hair. similar to how she did when they were children, soothing him.

" Eddie...We just want to talk. " Dustin spoke gently as he made sure Kathleen was the one to remove the broken glass bottle. Thus, he was unable to harm anyone or himself.

" We want to know what happened?." Robin gently questioned as she sat down next to Eddie.

" You won't believe me."

" Try us. " Max remarked while cocking her head. Kathleen gave him a small nod and gently held his hand to let him know she was there for him while Eddie stared at his cousin.

Eddie began talking about what had transpired before the major events while Kathleen sat next to him and offered her best support. How Chrissy was merely seeking drugs, and he was merely attempting to assist her.

" Her body just, like, lifted up into the air and, uh.. " Eddie halted himself while attempting to formulate the words. " And she just, like, hung there. In the air. And her bones... Uh, she... Her bones started to snap. Her eyes, man. It... It was like there was something, like, inside her head, pulling. I... I didn't know what to do, so I... I ran away. I left her there. " The words he meant to say to his cousin, who had lost one of her friends today, were utterly lost in the look she was giving him as he concluded.

" You all think I'm crazy, right? "

" No. We don't think you're crazy. "

" Don't bullshit me, man! I know how this sounds. " Kathleen swiftly muttered something into Eddie's ear, which instantly helped to ease his tension. Steve saw the two and wondered what they were saying.

" We're not bullshitting you. " Max reassured.

" We believe you." Robin added, sending a small smile their way.

" Look, what I'm about to tell you might be a little... difficult to take. " Dustin started, Kathleen know instantly what he was going to say and started to shake her head immediately.

She glared at him and replied, "Absolutely not." Eddie was already suffering through enough; there was no way she was going to allow him become engaged and learn that paranormal activity was taking place.

" He has a right to know." Kathleen immediately jumped up in response to Dustin's argument, but Steve quickly grabbed her arm.

" Let's go for a walk. " He said, pulling her away from the conversation and outside.

" He doesn't need to know, Steve, and I'm not going to carry him through this." Once they were outside the boathouse, she remarked.

"Eddie will just be another one of those people who join the list, we all didn't need to know what lies beneath this town, but we still do." While observing the female pacing back and forth in front of him, Steve said.

Inquiring as to how she and Eddie could get out of this, Kathleen bit her thumb. "Eddie will perish once he enters this land of monsters and try to act foolishly. I'm not going to lose him Steve." she cuddled into herself, scared of what the future would actually hold, Steve looked at her.

Steve encircled the girl in his arms because he understood that all she required was support. She let out a little, trembling sigh as Kathleen arms slowly encircled his waist.

" It's going to be okay, I promise you. " He whispered, but how truly wrong was he.
