"You gotta admit though, as a fear of engineering alone, this is impressive." As Kathleen looked in her surroundings, Dustin responded. Kathleen wasn't going to say it out loud but the youngster was right it was a really cool please.
"What are you talking about? It's a total fire hazard. There are no stairs, there's no exit, there's just an elevator that drops you halfway to hell." Steve argued.
"When did King Steve show concern for the security of the populace?" Kathleen smiled a little as she observed the annoyance on his face.
"They're Commies, you don't pay people, they cut corners." After Erica's remark, Steve seemed a little more confused.
"To be fair to our Russian comrades, I don't think this tunnel was designed for walking. Think about it developed the perfect system for transporting that cargo." Robin commented, looking at the bunch.
"It all comes into the mall like any old delivery."
"And then they load it up onto those trucksand nobody's the wiser."
"You think they built this whole mall so they could transport that green poison?" Steve questioned them as they continued to walk.
"I believe they are doing more than just using some acid in a tube, I don't believe that is all they are doing." Kathleen added her personal theory.
"It's gotta be much more valuable, like promethium or something." Dustin continued, Agreeing with Kathleen's theory.
"What the hell is promethium?"
"It's what Victor Stone's dad used to make Cyborg's bionic and cybernetic components."Robin answered. Kathleen was drawn in by her excitement for the way she presents the situation. Steve was still disoriented, though.
"Now,that's impressive." Robin blushed slightly after Kathleen complimented her.
"You're all so nerdy, it makes me physically ill." While holding her stomach as if about to vomit, Erica sputtered. Kathleen grinned at her.
"If you think they're nerdy, meet Eddie, he's a lot more nerdier than these guys." Kathleen spoke inaudibly to the younger girl, who was interested in Eddie.
"No, no, no.no, don't lump me in with them. I'm not a nerd, all right?" Steve said, trying not to appear as nerdy as the rest of them.
"Why so sensitive, Harrington? Afraid of losing cool points to a ten-year-old child?" Dustin and Kathleen snickered as Robin made fun of him.
"No, I'm just saying I don't know jack shit about Prometheus." Kathleen looked at Steve, puzzled as to why he was talking about a Greek titan.
"Promethium." Dustin corrected him.
"It's probably being used to make something."
"Or power something." Robin added,
"Like a nuclear weapon?"
"Totally. Walking towards a nuclear weapon. That's great" Steve replied sarcastically. Kathleen rolled her eyes at his remark, but a pang of fear rose up inside her.
"But if they're building something, why here?" Robin asked. "I mean, Hawkins. Seriously. Of all places. At the very best, we're a toilet stop on your way to Disneyland." Kathleen has always wanted to visit Disneyland, particularly to see Princess Aurora.
For some reason, Steve and Dustin stopped talking and began to whisper. Erica, Robin, and Kathleen all exchanged puzzled glances as they tried to figure out what the two may be discussing.
"I'm sorry, is there something you'd like to share with the class?" Robin said, and as they turned to see the girls all staring at them, they exchanged a quick glance. The males were about to react when the radio started playing. It allowed a man to start speaking Russian.
Robin hoisted the antenna after Robin swiftly received it from Erica, and everyone started to pay attention to what it was saying. Only a few words were clear to Kathleen, but one sentence made sense. "A trip to China sounds nice. If you tread lightly...Holy crap it's the code."
"Wherever that broadcast is coming from-"
"It's close. And if there's one thing we know about that signal..." Dustin looked at Robin and she trailed off.
"It can reach the surface. Let's go." Dustin said as they began to sprint towards the end of the corridor

Kathleen didn't expect it to be easy, but with so many people working around her, it was difficult to get past anything. She mostly just followed Steve's lead in case anything went wrong. She was hoping that nothing bad would happen because she was terrified of the possibilities.
"All right? Relax. Nobody saw..." Steve's words had completely stopped as they rounded the corner when they saw Russians, people in lab coats, and more guns. Kathleen took a step back as she gazed out into the distance. Everyone was hurrying around as someone was speaking Russian over the speakers.
"Oh my god." Kathleen whispered.
An armed man was scanning the area, his gaze fixed on the children. Steve pushed them all back against the wall, shielding them from being captured. " I saw it. First floor, northwest." When Erica spoke, they looked at her, a little puzzled and perplexed.
"Saw what?" Steve inquired, keeping an eye out for anyone passing by.
"The comms room."
Everyone looked at her again, this time with a little trepidation. "You saw the comms room?" Steve queried.
"Positive. The door was open for a second, and I saw a bunch of lights and machines and shit in there." Kathleen nodded, ready to flee at any opportunity, as Erica explained.
"That could be a hundred different things."
Kathleen noticed the women in white coats and formed an idea in her head that they ought to be important. "You guys stay here." Kathleen spoke up after hearing them whisper cry after her. She rounded the corner and began to follow one of them down a hallway.
She held her breath, unsure of what she was about to do. She sped up until she was only a few steps behind her. Finally, she pushed the woman into an empty room before quickly closing the door behind her.
"кто ты?" The woman asked, clearly perplexed, but then she began to reach into her pocket. Kathleen examined her surroundings until she noticed a book behind her.
Kathleen quickly turned around and grabbed the book. "I'm truly sorry for this, but I hope you're all right after." Kathleen said before swinging the book across the ladies face, wincing as she landed on the bookshelf.
She quickly took the lady's white coat. she loved how it perfectly fit her. She looked up at herself in the mirror as she let her hair down and styled it in a way she wouldn't normally do. "This could fool anyone, right?" she asked the lady, only remembering she was unconscious. "right forgot."
Kathleen took the key card and tucked it into her pocket so they could get out of here quickly. She returned her attention to the woman before another thought occurred to her. "How would you feel about being a part of Act One?" she asked, smiling.
"Кто-нибудь, пожалуйста, помогитe мне, на нее напали, и я только что нашел ее."Kathleen spoke in Russian as she pulled the woman into the open space. hoping she was doing it correctly. They began to scramble around her as she started to weep aloud. She keeled down as she placed the lady on the floor.
"She's good."Steve added, as Robin gazed in adoration. They stood there watching as more people surrounded her.
" I don't mean to intervene on your new wet dreams, but I think she's doing it to allow us to run." Erica said as they all looked at the fact that they now have the opportunity to run.
One of the Russian guards assisted her up and carefully examined her. "Мэм, вы в порядке, вы видели, кто напал на нее?" Kathleen just shook her head as she noticed they were making their way towards the communications room, so she had to make up a quick lie.
"Я увидел мужчину, он держал какое-то оружие, он был возле лифта." She said, between sobs.
The guard said something, before nearly everyone started to make their way down the corridor and out of sight. Kathleen slowly grinned before walking backwards. She was extremely pleased with her performance. only to have her name called out. "right, coming."
She shrugged off her coat and followed them inside. before pausing and looking up with the others. She froze at the man standing near the desk, who was probably wondering how or why they were in a secret Russian area, while some women continued to speak in Russian.
The man started to draw his gun, but Robin stepped forwards. "Tread lightly! Tread lightly!"She was speaking in Russian. Kathleen began to realize that this code might not be for everyone in the building, making them even more perplexed about what was going on. as well as the fact that this is unlikely to go their way.
Steve looked around the group before returning his gaze to the Russian guard as he raised his gun. Kathleen's eyes widened as Steve screamed and charged towards the guard, colliding with him. The man threw Steve off and into another table, then threw a punch at him, only to have him doge it.
Kathleen awkwardly grabbed Robin's hand as she began to fear for Steve's life as another punch was thrown at him. Robin managed to stand carefully in front of Kathleen and the children, not wishing them or her to be hurt. Steve snatched a phone and pulled it out before turning around and thrusting it at the man's head, Kathleen jumped as the man hit his head on the table, quietly confident that the guy will be knocked out but not dead.
Steve ran his fingers through his hair, looking at the group in shock. "Dude! You did it! You won a fight!" Dustin exclaimed proudly. Kathleen began to laugh in shock and amazement at what had just occurred. Dustin smiled even wider at Kathleen. "And you were incredible out there, fooling everyone." Kathleen flushed slightly as she did a little mock bow.
Dustin and Erica began to argue over a key-card, implying that they now had two of them. Robin began her ascent of the stairs, while Kathleen approached Steve to check on him. "You're a fool, but a brave fool." She said this with a small laugh, causing him to laugh as well. They all came to a halt when Robin ran down the stairs in a panic.
"Guys. There's something up there."
They made their way up. Filing into the small room. "Holy crap." Kathleen remarked. She was dumbfounded, she couldn't explain what she was seeing, but she knew it wasn't good. There was a large ray nearby, but it wasn't the ray that perplexed her. The large crack in the wall frightened her. She wasn't prepared to face what might come of it, and she had no intention of doing so.
"Well at least we know why they needed a mall now."
