Chapter 5: Feelings

Sleep.

What is sleep?

You don't know sleep.

Sleep is nowhere near you right now. You barely even got any rest last night. The moment in which Jimin had kissed your cheek kept replaying in your mind, and the fluttering feeling in your stomach had no intention of going away. And, this had kept you up 90% of the time.

"You sure you want to go to school today?" Your Mum asked for the hundredth time.

She was skeptical about you going because she didn't want you injuring yourself more than you already had. Even though you told her that it didn't ache anymore, she was still not convinced.

It took a lot of explanations to get her to come around to allowing you to go to school.

"Yes, Mum. I'm sure about going to school today, besides it's Friday. I have the next two days to rest, completely. I promise," you say, stepping outside of your house.

That is when your eyes land on his figure. He had his back turned to you, but you knew it was him.

The familiar black hair which glistened in the sun. At the sound of your footsteps, he turns around, and your breath hitches in your throat.

The rising sun behind him had created a halo effect around him, making him seem so angelic, so ethereal. It was hard for you to believe that he was really there.

"Hi, Mrs. Kim," he addressed your Mum who was standing behind you, at the door, "You don't have to worry about your daughter. I'll take her to school today."

You could hear your Mum slightly squealing behind you as she ushered you to him. You mentally groan, resisting the urge to roll your eyes at your Mum's actions.

"Thank you, dear. I'm glad my daughter will be safe in the hands of a strapping young man like yourself," your Mum beams and you flash her a look of betrayal.

Jimin then averts his gaze towards you, his lips curving upward in to a smile as he offered you his hand, "Ready for school, princess?"

. . .

You didn't ask for this.

Never would you have thought Park Jimin would show up at your doorstep in the early hours of Friday, to assist you in going to school.

He currently had his fingers grasped on your hip, holding you close with the excuse of making sure you wouldn't fall.

"How did you know I would go to school today?" You question, genuinely curious as to how he had that kind of information.

"You seem like that kind of person who's totally dedicated to school. Perfect grades, perfect student," he steals a glance at you, "Am I wrong?"

You slowly shake your head, mumbling in a low voice, "No."

He chuckles, openly staring at you now.

"Can I ask you a question?" He asks.

"You just did," you retort, earning a hearty laugh from him.

"I mean, seriously though."

"What?"

"Have you ever been in a relationship?"

You were caught off guard by his sudden inquiry. Your eyes widened, gawking at him, "What?"

"It's a serious question," he exclaims, waiting for your answer.

"Why would you ask that all of a sudden?" You ask in turn.

"Oh, uhm, I don't know," he pretends to think, "Maybe because you always seem to blushing by the simplest actions, such as holding your hand, or merely holding you up by your waist. I could go on."

He raises his eyebrows, staring down at you for a response. You were taken aback. He had seen right through your wall that you had plastered up so well over the years.

Damn you, Park Jimin.

"So?"

You sigh, avoiding eye contact, "No, never been in one."

He smiles to himself, "That's good."

"What's good?" You question.

"We reached school, so I don't have to hold you up anymore," he simply replies, releasing you from his grip.

You scoff in disbelief glaring at him. Holding tightly on to your bag straps, you mumble as you walk into the building, towards your class, "I never asked you to hold me up anyway."

Jimin stayed behind, watching you stomp off as he smiled to himself. He started affecting you, and he could see it clearly from you blushing with any type of contact he gave you.

He felt a small tug at his heart, and his smile falters.

Not now.

You sit down at your desk, folding your arms across the desk as you hide your face in the space between them.

He didn't have to be so rude about that.

Well, maybe he wasn't being rude. You just took it like that.

You shake your head.

No, Park Jimin. I am not letting you break down my walls like this. You got through once, doesn't mean you'll get through it again.

You ignore the sound of footsteps entering the class, letting your arms fall limply to your sides, leaving only your head resting on the desk.

Your eyes were closed but you knew someone was staring at you. You could feel their lingering gaze. Yet, you were not bothered to open your eyes to see who it was.

The chair beside you squeaks across the floor, letting you know that someone sat down next to you.

Jimin sighs, copying the position you are in as he lets his eyes trail every detail of your face. Unknowingly, his hand reaches up before his fingers lightly graze the surface of your cheek.

Your eyes flutter open, landing on his figure. His cheeks seemed puffed up and it took all the strength in you to not swoon and squish them.

"I'm sorry," he whispers, letting his fingers trail the outline of your face.

"For what?" You stare back his dark orbs that glistened.

"If I hurt you or offended you by what I said earlier," he continues.

You slightly shake your head, "No, it's okay. You were joking around."

"But still-" The bell suddenly resonated through the air making you jolt up in your seat.

You clear your throat as Jimin gradually follows in pursuit, his eyes never leaving you.

Now here he was, once again breaking through the wall which you were so determined to hold up.

You mentally curse yourself as students start to file into the class. Tzuyu walks in, her gaze shifting between you and Jimin, eyeing you suspiciously before slowly making her way towards her seat behind you.

Great, now Tzuyu thinks something is up.

. . .

"How's your leg now? All better?" Tzuyu asked as she hooked arms with you.

It was now lunch time and Tzuyu and you were roaming through the halls of the school as you were bored.

"Better, I can walk properly. Just a slight pain, but it'll recover during the weekends," you clarify, flashing her a small smile.

"Speaking of, what's going on between you and Jimin?"

You sigh, rolling your eyes as you just hoped she wouldn't bring this up.

But nothing goes unnoticed by her, sadly.

"Nothing, why do you ask?" You try to play it cool, pretending to not know what she's talking about.

She groans, "Drop the facade, Y/N. You and I both know very well, you can't lie. So tell me."

You purse your lips, sighing loudly as you give in and start to explain to her about what had happened.

From yesterday's piggyback ride to walking to school together in the morning.

Her mouth dropped open, "O. M. G. You are crushing."

You widen your eyes, "What? No, no, no. Me? Having a crush on him? Th-That's impossible. I've barely known him for a day."

She smiles creepily at you, "Oh come on, Y/N. Everyone knows it doesn't take long for someone to develop a crush on another. It's a fact."

"Stated by whom?"

"Me," she smiles in victory, "I'm gonna go get something to eat from the canteen. I'll see you in class."

With that, she's off, leaving you to your thoughts.

Am I really starting to have a crush on Jimin?

. . .
