Chapter 12: Happy

Throughout the remaining days of the week, you were the happiest you had ever been.

You were in a relationship.

A relationship with Jimin, whom you had grown to care and love a lot.

Someone you had never known you'd grow so close to.

But you were happy.

And so was Tzuyu.

She told you of what happened to her after you had left the party.

Namjoon, the platinum-blonde haired boy who had arrived the same day as Jimin, had asked for her hand to dance.

It led to the pair growing extremely close, and well, almost on the way to a relationship.

You both squealed in your seats, not able to believe this happening in either of your lives.

It was currently lunch time as you and Tzuyu were seated in the classroom.

Jimin had excused himself as he went to hang with friends.

As he reached his locker, a couple of hands slapped his back as voices boomed out, "Yah, congratulations man! Park Jimin, getting into it with another girl."

He turned around, facing his group of friends - Namjoon, Seokjin, Hoseok, and Yoongi.

When Jimin didn't respond to their comment but instead gave them a straight face, they grew worried, exchanging glances between themselves.

Hoseok speaks up, "What's wrong?"

"There's nothing to congratulate me for. I don't want to do this, you guys know this. I don't want to do it with her. You guys know how much I hate this, and to think I've actually started falling for her," Jimin scoffs painfully, looking down.

"Why don't you just back out?" Jin asked, his eyebrows knitted in concern.

"You know how he is," Jimin replies, biting his bottom lip slightly as he starts thinking of you, "He won't let me. Not without someone getting hurt."

They nod in unison, pursing their lips as the atmosphere grew tensed.

"Well," Namjoon exchanges a sad smile with said raven-haired boy, "I wish you luck, Jimin. I know how much you've started growing accustomed to her. I hope the both of you make it out unscathed."

With that, they walk away leaving Jimin to his thoughts.

How was he supposed to make it out unscathed when, in the end, he knew you'd get hurt no matter what?

. . .

The weekend had gone by in a flash, with you spending most of your time laying in the park, under the blossoms with Jimin.

It was like a new love story blooming, so the two of you found it perfect to sit under them for your first date.

As Monday arrives, you walk to school, glancing at your phone case once in a while due to the picture you had behind it.

It was a photo of you and Jimin smiling, being the happiest under the cherry blossom trees, with each other's presence.

Skipping through the hallways, you abruptly stop as you hear voices booming across, yelling at each other.

Eyebrows knitted together, you peek around to the corner to look at whatever was going on.

Your breath left you as your mouth hung open at the sight.

It was Jimin with the same girl he had told you not to worry about.

Hyerim.

Your heart broke into thousands of pieces as she kissed him, yet again.

Mustering up all the courage in you, you walk over to the pair, pulling them apart as your vision blurred slightly.

Tears fell as you looked at Jimin with disbelief.

And he knew this was the only way out, so you'd be safe.

"How could you?" Your voice broke, barely audible as you stared at him.

"I-I thought you liked me," you whisper as you started feeling weak, "We didn't even make it to a week. Tell me, Park Jimin. Why me?"

Jimin stayed quiet.

He glanced over your shoulder at something or someone, but you were preoccupied with getting an explanation from the said man to even bother to see where he was looking.

If you'd known any better, you'd say he was hesitant, scared as he continuously glanced over your shoulder.

He didn't want to continue, he didn't.

But he had to.

Jimin sighed, trying to pull himself together to not break as he stared straight in to your eyes.

The corners of his lips reluctantly tugged in to a smirk as he stepped closer to you, "Aw, babe. Did you really think I'd fall in love with someone like you?"

That was it.

The rest of your heart shattered into smithereens as you felt yourself losing balance.

"Why me?" You ask again as black spots started invading your vision.

"She asked you a question," a voice booms out, which you manage to identify as Taehyung's, "So I think you better answer it."

Jimin hated this.

He hated this plan.

He hated that he had to go through with it.

Just to make him seem like the good guy, the hero in the end of it all.

You entire vision turned into a black abyss as you fell, the last thing you saw was Jimin and Taehyung's widened eyes.

. . .

The sound of someone sobbing woke you up.

"Mum?" You croak, squinting your eyes as they adjusted to the light.

"Y/N," your mother gasped, relieved that you were now awake.

"What happened?" You ask as you ended up closing your eyes again.

"Well, Taehyung brought you in, saying you fainted in school," she clarified, tightly grasping your hand as she was thankful you woke up.

Memories of the incident that occurred in school started flooding your mind, your eyes beginning to sting at your recollection of Jimin's actions.

You gulp, exhaling shakily, "Where is Taehyung?"

"He's in the living room. I'll go call him in," she stood up, planting a kiss on your forehead before heading out the door.

A few moments later, the sound of footsteps entered your room, stopping at your bedside.

Opening your eyes, you glance up at the orange-haired boy who stood beside your bed with a relieved look painted across his face, "You're awake."

"No, I'm dead," you deadpan causing Taehyung to chuckle as he sat down beside your form.

"Still didn't lose your sense of humor."

Before silence could accustom itself amongst you two, Taehyung spoke up, cautiously asking, "How... How are you? After.."

"I'm fine, just didn't realize to see what kind of a heartbreaker he is. I don't want to see him ever again," your voice breaks, a few tears escaping your eyes as flashbacks of the incident flood your mind.

Taehyung's fingers reach up, wiping away the tears s he softly spoke, "About that... He's, uh, actually outside right now. No matter what I said, he didn't budge. He wants to talk to you."

"Send him in," you sniffle, sitting upright in your bed, "I need to talk to him."

The boy seemed hesitant as he walked out the door.

Right after, Jimin came rushing in, his face stained with tears as he was happy to see you awake, "Y/N."

You hold up your hand, indicating for him to stop which he does, blinking in surprise at your reaction.

"Before anything," you fold your arms across your chest, glaring at the boy in front of you, "I want you to tell me why you did it."

Jimin opened his mouth to say why he did it, and who exactly made him do it.

But he closes it straight after as he realized he would be listening in to the conversation at this moment.

And, if Jimin exposed him, you'd end up getting more hurt.

He didn't want that happening.

"I-I can't," he whispered as he avoided eye contact.

"Why can't you?" You ask as you continue glowering at the raven-haired boy in front of you.

"I-I just can't," he spoke up, finally making eye contact with you.

He looked broken, and your gaze almost softened but you held up your wall.

Your weren't going to let it be torn down, "Well, that's not a good enough reason."

"Please, Y/N. You have to understand that-"

"No," you held out your hands in front of you causing Jimin to stop as he was about to come next to you, "I'm done, Jimin. With this whole thing. I'm done. If your actions didn't make it clear already, I will: it's over between us."

Jimin's heart broke at those words.

Words he'd never thought he'd hear.

He liked you, a lot.

Jimin really did.

But there were things holding him back, a past that refused to let him go.

A past that would continue to come in between you and him as long as he sees you.

Once again, Jimin's mouth parted, words stuck between his lips.

Words he couldn't convey to you, no matter how much he wanted to.

And so, he reluctantly walked out of the room as a tear rolled down his cheek.

As soon as the door closed, you exhale shakily, releasing the tears you were holding back.

Your vision blurred as a soft sob broke out between your lips.

You didn't just like him.

No.

You had started falling in love.

And it hurt like hell to.

Your heart was broken but you still slowly fell.

You knew these feelings wouldn't go away soon, but you had to hold them back before you completely, and utterly fell for him.

. . .

A/N: And here you guys go! I hope this double edited chapter update makes up for the few days of not updating.

I've been feeling a bit drained these days, so I've been trying to get my energy up.

Currently it's 11:33 p.m. for me and I'm about to head to sleep, which is early for me considering I usually end up going to sleep around 1 or 2 a.m. during the holidays.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter! Until next time!
