Chapter 11: Prom pt. 2

If you were being honest, you weren't looking forward to prom.

Heck, you didn't even want to go!

You lost any enthusiasm you had due to the event in which Jimin had asked the same girl whom he had kissed and claimed he wasn't in a relationship with, to prom.

You tried to fake an injury or sickness but nothing goes past Tzuyu.

Nothing at all.

So Wednesday morning, she dragged you out of your bed and into the shower.

When you came out, you lay back down on to your bed as Tzuyu began rummaging through your closet for the dress you had bought a few weeks ago for the event.

She huffed, putting the dress on top of your still form as she pulls out her makeup pouch from her bag.

"Get up and sit please," she walks over to the vanity followed by you as you place the dress on to your bed.

She starts by applying BB cream, followed by natural eyeshadow, black eyeliner and peach lip tint, highlighter and light pink blush - your makeup was done.

"There," she smiles victoriously at her creation on your face, "You look so pretty!"

"Are you saying I don't look pretty without makeup on?" You ask rhetorically.

She responds with sarcasm laced in her voice, "Yes, you look like a gorilla."

You gasp, offended by her words as you proceed to lightly smack her forearm. She giggles before proceeding to do your hair, only needing to curl it since she insisted on curling your hair instead of leaving it straight as it naturally is.

Once she was done, you walk back into the bathroom, slipping into the dress. Gazing at yourself in the mirror, your thoughts wander back to Tzuyu's words.

You did look pretty.

The garnet dress complimented your features. Glitter covered the chest area as the dress flaired slightly from your waist to your ankles.

Walking out, you slip on matching garnet flats, patiently waiting on your bed for Tzuyu to finish getting dressed.

Yes, you had chosen flats.

You didn't want to torture your feet by wearing heels. You could barely walk in them anyways.

Once Tzuyu finished, you walked downstairs and your Mum cooed as her eyes scanned over Tzuyu and you lovingly.

"My babies are looking so pretty," she lifted up the Instax camera, taking a picture of the two of you.

"Mum, are you crying?" You question and she proceeds to wipe her eyes, denying the fact that she was close to tears.

You sigh, shaking your head, "It's not like we're going off to war. You'll see us again in a few hours."

"I know," she continues, smiling fondly, "But look at you both. You're both so grown up now. You've bloomed in to beautiful swans!"

Just then, the doorbell sounds and you open the door.

Taehyung stood there - hair styled back, revealing his forehead as he was clad in a black tuxedo.

He smiled at you, shifting his eyes up and down your form before fixating his gaze on your eyes, "You look beautiful."

You blush as you continue to speak, "And you look handsome."

He laughs sheepishly before Tzuyu comes ushering the both of you away from the door.

"Any comments for me?" She patiently waits for Taehyung to say something.

It took a while, but he finally speaks up, "You look beautiful as well."

She bats her eyelids, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "Thank you."

You stared the two people playing around.

It was a sight to see.

And you were on your way - after your Mum had ushered the three of you together for another picture, continuously complimenting Taehyung's good looks from which he had started blushing, causing you to laugh.

Before long, the sound of loud music being played over the speakers became deafening as you entered the school gymnasium.

The three of you saunter your way over to an empty table, sitting down as your eyes scan the crowd of teenagers dancing and running around.

Before long, your gaze lands on Jimin who was standing on the other side of the gymnasium from where you were.

His eyes were already on you though.

Gaze hooded and dark as he gulped down the glass of punch in his hand.

Your breath hitches in your throat as it felt like he was placing phantom touches over your body, whispering sweet nothings into your ear with just his gaze.

And Jimin was doing just so.

You awakened something inside him, like a fire, a pull of attraction. You set him alive, and he was loving it.

You pry your eyes away, fanning your face slightly as you drink the punch Taehyung had brought over a few moments ago.

Is it just me or is it suddenly hot in here?

As minutes pass by, Taehyung abruptly stands up, excusing himself to go to the bathroom.

Your eyes, once again, skim the crowd as a new song started playing. A slow, pop song.

You remembered it as the song you were jamming to at 4 a.m. a few months ago, with your Mum angrily coming into your room to turn it off because you were interrupting her sleep.

You look to where you had seen Jimin before, but he wasn't there.

"May I have this dance?" Your head snaps to the direction beside you, a familiar raven-haired boy standing with his hand out, waiting for your response.

"Uh, don't you have a date?" You ask, biting your lip slightly as Jimin's eyes darken again.

"She ditched me because I told her I didn't want her as my date," he replies cooly, trying hard not to focus on your lips which looked so enticing.

"Harsh," you trail, gradually placing your hand in his, "But okay."

Jimin leads you to the dance floor as Tzuyu flashes you a creepy grin with which you exchange a glare.

He stops, turning around to face you as he places his hands on to your hips, pulling you into him which caused you to let out a yelp at the action.

Your faces were so close, his breath fanning your lips as his hooded gaze remained on you.

Your body burned everywhere, especially your hips where Jimin fingers were placed.

You felt hot and as if you were slowly losing control.

"Why did you ask that girl to prom if you had no intention of asking her in the first place?" You ask, trying to maintain a steady voice but failing as your voice slightly wavers.

"Well," he leans in, whispering into your ear, "Let's just say the girl I wanted to ask had already been asked by someone. So I had to come up with a back up plan that I wasn't happy with."

As he backed away, your eyes landed on his lips.

His plump lips that looked so welcoming to you.

"Who did you want to ask?" You whisper as Jimin leans in gradually.

Brushing his nose against yours, he says in a low voice causing all the butterflies in your stomach to fly around, "You."

Before your lips could touch, Jimin pulls away, dragging you out to the garden.

The chill night air hitting your skin caused you to snap out of your enticement.

He turns around, delicately holding your hands in his as his gaze softens, "I know we've been through a few misjudgements and a bit of a rollercoaster ride of emotions within the few weeks of knowing each other. But, I just want to say, I like you, Y/N."

You couldn't believe it.

You couldn't believe his words.

Here he was - your crush confessing his feelings to you under a thousand stars.

It seemed all too dream-like to you.

He continued, "I like you a lot. You make me feel happy, Y/N. Really really happy. Do you want to be my girl?"

Without any hesitation, you said yes, wrapping your arms around his neck, embracing him in a hug.

Jimin smiled against the exposed skin of your neck, snuggling closer as he enjoyed this moment.

A few heartbeats later, he pulled away, hands cupping your face as he leans in.

His lips met yours and it felt as if things started falling into place.

Little did you know, they wouldn't stay that way for long.

Jimin's hands travel down to your waist, gripping them as he pulls you closer, rubbing circles with his thumb on to your skin.

Your hand rests against the back of his neck as the other places through his hair, massaging his scalp.

Before long, you both pulled away, panting as the kiss had left you breathless.

Jimin smiled, "I'm glad I can finally kiss you."

But his smile falters as he knew this happiness wouldn't last.

No matter how much he had protested to a certain boy, a threat was all it took to get him to fall through with the plan.

Jimin hated that you had to be involved in this. He hated himself for getting close with you on the first day.

He wished the boy hadn't noticed, you'd be safe and Jimin would be happy with you.

He was thankful your eyes were closed so you wouldn't notice the sad glint that reflected in his eyes as he stared at you.

. . .

After the confession, Jimin had decided that he would walk you home.

His navy blue blazer rested around your form as the two of you walked home.

Jimin held on to your hand, squeezing it once in a while as he realized he may never get to do this again.

Be with you like this.

A certain past keeps blocking his happiness, and it doesn't plan on leaving him.

You stand in front of your house as he plants his lips against yours again for a moment or two, savoring the moment before pulling away.

He smiles fondly, watching as you head inside your home.

You were going to give back his blazer, but he insisted on you having it, so you could have something of his in your room.

Once the door closed, Jimin's smile faded.

Releasing a long, sad sigh, he stuffed his hands in his pockets, looking up to the night sky.

He hated himself for what he had to do.

He desperately searched amongst the stars for an answer.

A remedy to prevent what was going to happen in a few days.

You, on the other hand, lay in your bed, smiling from ear to ear as you let out an exasperated sigh.

You were happy.

You were so happy to know Jimin shared the same feelings for you as you did for him.

It all seemed like a dream.

Too good to be true.

Little did you know, you'd soon wish it was all a dream and not reality.

. . .
