"TANYA CONVINCED IRINA TO COME RECONCILE WITH US." Carlisle spoke from the couch beside Esme, Arlina and Alec. Renesmee had been snowflake catching and Irina had seen them, but she ran away mysteriously and they all didn't really know why. They assumed it was because of the wolves.
"Well, it looks like she changed her mind." Edward said from the piano where he sat beside Renesmee and Bella leaned against the body of the instrument with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Seeing Jacob must have been too much for her." Esme added and Arlina hummed in agreement.
"I wish I could have just spoken to her." Bella spoke up and Carlisle looked down at his hands.
"She's family. She'll come around." Carlisle reassured her and he put his arm around Esme with a grin.
Edward began to play the piano and Renesmee assisted him. The music made everyone relax and smile, Alec wrapped his arm around Arlina and she snuggled into his side, watching the youngest Cullen and her dad play together.
In Volterra, Irina has gone to report a crime to the Volturi. She walked into the throne room and looked over at Aro, Marcus and Caius who all looked over at her surprisingly.
"What a pleasant surprise." Aro spoke with a book opened in his hands, Caius closed his own book aggressively and turned to Irina.
"What do you want?" He questioned, and when she hesitated, pretty intimidated by Felix and Demetri who were stood beside her, he hummed.
"I have to report... a crime." Irina walked forward, causing Marcus to close his own book, "The Cullens... They've done something... terrible."
Aro closed his book immediately and sped up and over to Irina, smiling softly, "Allow me, my dear." He grabbed onto one of her hands and held it tightly. He let go after his eyes had widened and she gasped quietly, "Oh, my. How Alec has betrayed us..."
"Alec?" Demetri mumbled over to Felix and the said boy raised his eyebrow and shrugged, just as confused as he was. They both knew that Alec wouldn't betray them... unless it was to protect his mate.
Back at Forks in the Cullen home, the whole Cullen family was sat around watching Renesmee play the piano on her own with smiles on their faces. Arlina intertwined hers and Alec's fingers in his lap and she smiled up at him, kissing his jaw gently, causing him to look down at her with a loving grin.
Alice strolled in holding a vase of flowers and she suddenly gasped, his eyes widening in horror. She dropped the vase and it smashed all over the ground, causing Arlina and Jasper to speed over to her in concern.
"What is it, Alice?" Jasper asked and she looked at them both with worried eyes.
"The Volturi. They're coming for us." She looked over at her family, "Aro, Caius, Marcus, the Guard..." The pixie-haired seer glanced at Alec, who looked down at his hands awkwardly, "And Irina."
"Honey, come here." Bella told Renesmee, and the young girl rushed up, standing in front of her mother.
"Why?" Carlisle stepped forward.
"What did Irina see in the woods?" Edward asked his mate and the newborn scrunched her brows.
"We were just walking." Bella responded.
"Ness was catching snowflakes." Jacob confirmed and they all looked over at him.
"Of course. Irina thinks Renesmee's an Immortal Child." Edward told them and Arlina nodded, walking back over to Alec and sitting down beside him, grabbing his hands and giving them a squeeze of reassurance.
The feeling of her warmth always gives him a sense of peace and comfort, it reminds him of the days where his mother would light the fire after a long, cold day and made him and Jane a warm drink while she cuddled them both to sleep.

"THE IMMORTAL CHILDREN WERE VERY BEAUTIFUL." Alec explained from beside Bella as she read through the book of legends about Immortal Children, "So enchanting. To be near them was to love them. But their development was frozen at the age they were turned. They couldn't be taught or restrained."
"A single tantrum could destroy an entire village." Carlisle added, leaning over the table on her hands and Esme nodded from beneath him where she was sat at the table.
"Humans heard about the devastation. Stories spread. The Volturi were forced to intervene. Since the children couldn't protect our secret they had to be destroyed." Alec looked down at his thighs as he remembered the night where he watched Jane kill the Immortal Child that belonged to the Denali Coven, "Their creators grew very attached and fought to protect them. Long-established covens were torn apart. Countless humans slaughtered. Traditions, friends... even families. Lost."
"So the Denalis' mother made an Immortal Child?" Bella asked Alec and the witch twin nodded sadly.
"Unfortunately, yes. And she paid the price, I remember it like it was yesterday. They killed the mother and Jane the child." Alec confirmed and Bella scrunched her brows with a shake of her head.
"Well, Renesmee's nothing like those children." She defended, "She was born, not bitten. She grows every single day."
"We know, Bella." Arlina placed her warm hand on the girl's shoulder.
"So, can't you just explain that to the Volturi?" Jacob questioned Carlisle and Edward looked down, shaking his head.
"Aro has enough proof in Irina's thoughts." Edward told him.
"So we fight." Jacob declared but everyone didn't agree.
"Their offensive weapons are too powerful. No one can stand against Jane, only myself but I would never do that to my sister." Alec shook his head, scrunching his brows and looking down once again nervously. He didn't want a fight with his own coven, if they were even his coven anymore.
"Well, then we convince them." Bella told Alec.
"They're coming to kill us, not to talk." Emmett spoke up and Arlina nodded.
"They won't listen to us." Arlina agreed, rubbing Bella's shoulder once again in reassurance.
"But maybe others can convince them. Carlisle, you have friends all around the world." Edward spoke and Carlisle crossed his arms over his chest with a curt shake of his head.
"I won't ask them to fight." The older vampire demanded.
"Not fight. Witness. If enough people knew the truth, maybe we could convince the Volturi to listen." Edward suggested and Esme nodded, reaching up and holding onto Carlisle's arm, rubbing it.
"We can ask this of our friends." Esme looked up at him and he looked down at her, nodding slightly. He placed his hand over hers and rubbed her knuckles.
