ALEC WAS SAT ON ONE OF THE CHAIRS IN THE LIVING ROOM AFTER CLEANING RENESMEE, rocking her and cooing her, "Hey, little one." Alec smiled down at the child, he was trying to distract himself from the fact that he didn't know where his mate was, or what she was doing, or how she was feeling.

"Alec." Rosalie walked into the room with her hands behind her back and she held a polite smile, "We all appreciate what you did in there."

"It was no problem." Alec nodded, he stood from the chair and raised his eyebrows, causing Rosalie to nod rapidly, opening her arms out for him to pass her the baby.

"Thank you." Rosalie smiled sweetly, sitting in the chair he was once sat in and saying hello to Renesmee, "Hi, hi."

Alec grinned before he exited the room, smiling briefly at the wolf on his way out. He was looking for Arlina, and he expected her to be in her bedroom, so he was going up the stairs. He could hear her quiet sobs as he neared the door, and he knocked gently, "Precious?"

"You can come in." Arlina smiled sadly at him as he walked in, closing the door behind him and he walked over to her, sitting down beside her where she was sat on the wooden flooring. She held a sad expression and if she was human, the floor would be soaked in tears from how sad she was.

Yes, Bella was problem-causing from time to time, but she still love the human girl with all of her heart. She was like a sister to Arlina, and she wouldn't have it any other way. The redhead began to think, if she hadn't invited Bella to sit with herself and her family that day, maybe Bella would still be alive.

"It's okay." He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him as she sobbed dryly, wiping her nose repeatedly even though it wasn't running.

"ARLINA! JASPER! ALICE!" Edward screamed out and Arlina looked at Alec with a scared look. She jumped up and out of his arms, causing him to stand too.

"What is it?" Alec asked her, she looked as if she knew why he was calling her and she looked worried.

"It's the pack." Arlina told him.

They all rushed outside, and watched as a large number of wolves emerged from the woods, "We're outnumbered." Edward spoke and Alice grabbed Arlina's hand tightly.

"By a lot." The smaller girl added.

"I won't let them hurt my family." Edward continued, covered in Bella's blood and Arlina nodded. All of the wolves growled before they leaped towards the Cullens, and Alec.

The four vampires ran at them, fighting them all but it didn't take long for them all to be tackled. Alec was strong, but he couldn't take on ten vampire-killing wolves on his own.

Arlina was tackled to the ground by Paul Lahote, and he growled in her face, about to bite her head off when Emmett came running over, pushing Paul over with a loud yell.

"Die, dog!" Emmett screamed, punching the wolf repeatedly in anger and Arlina chuckled slightly, jumping to her feet and running over to Alec, who was fighting a bunch of them on his own.

"Careful, Arlina!" Alec yelled as Arlina tackled one of them to the ground, she punched it in the nose and kicked it in the stomach, causing it to fly into the air and be flung into a tree.

She looked over at Alec with a nod, and ran over to help her siblings, but she was stopped when the biggest wolf of them all knocked her over and pinned her down. Arlina moved her head to the side, ready for his big teeth to stick into her neck and rip her head off, and she squeezed her eyes shut.

But, the feeling never came, and she opened her eyes as Leah Clearwater ran over, pushing Sam away and fighting him midair.

"Stop! It's over!" Jacob ran over, breaking it all up but Sam didn't seem to listen as he continued to growl at the Cullens, and the wolf went to step towards them, "If you kill her, you kill me."

Sam ran at Jacob, causing the boy to fly back and shift to his wolf form, standing tall against the leader of the pack, hissing at him.

"Jacob imprinted." Edward spoke up, causing the rest of the vampires to look over at him and Bree sped over, clearly confused on what was going on. When she caught sight of Arlina, she wrapped her arms around the redhead tightly, "They can't hurt her. Whoever a wolf imprints on can't be harmed. It's their most absolute law."

"Wait, so Jacob imprinted on a baby?" Bree asked Arlina, furrowing her brows before her eyes widened, realising that Bella had finally given birth. She looked up at Arlina with a questioning look, but the older Cullen just shook her head sadly, causing Bree to look to the ground in disbelief.

The wolves began to move backwards, running off into the woods and Jacob turned around, looking at Edward, who nodded curtly at the shapeshifter.

Alec wrapped his arm around Arlina tightly, and Seth walked over, still in his wolf form, rubbing against Bree gently.

IT WAS A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER, everything was cleaned up and Bella was almost at the end of her transition, ready to awaken. They had spoken about Alec staying for a little while, he said it's because he was worried about Aro reading his thoughts but mostly, it was because he had gotten closer to Renesmee than he thought he ever could.

The couple were sat on the couch, waiting quietly for Bella to wake up. Jacob was stood in the doorway to the room where Bella was laying with Edward by her side, and Esme and Carlisle were stood side by side at the other side of the room, looking out the window.

Soon enough, the slow, faint beating of Bella's heart stopped and they all looked at each other, "It's time." Esme mumbled and they all heard her, smiling at each other.

Arlina pulled her phone out from her pocket and opened up Bree's contact, quickly sending her a message.

Bree, it's time!

What? Is Bella awake?
