AN ENGINE REVVED FROM OUTSIDE AND ARLINA KNEW IT WAS JACOB, he was the only person she knew that owned a motorcycle. Bella stiffened in her spot on the couch and Arlina kneeled down beside her, comforting her with her warm touch.
Carlisle exited the room to let the boy in and Bella felt even more tense as she heard the shapeshifter's voice, Arlina's nose curled up when she caught the scent of wet dog, and she scrunched her face together, causing Bella to relax and chuckle slightly.
"Is it true?" Jacob questioned and Carlisle sighed.
"Hello, Jacob, how are you?" The blond man asked as he closed the door and Jacob walked into the house a bit before he walked back over to the vampire lazily.
"Listen, just give it to me straight." Jacob demanded calmly and Carlisle sighed once more.
"Jake, is that you?" Bella called out, and Arlina rubbed the back of the human's hand, hoping the dog wouldn't overreact and cause even more drama.
"She's here?" Jacob asked.
"They came home two weeks ago." Carlisle explained and Jacob turned around, rushing over to the stairway and up the stairs into the hallway towards where Bella and the rest of the Cullens were, "Jake."
Rosalie stood with her arms crossed over her chest in front of Bella, protecting her while Arlina sat on the couch beside the girl, her warm arm around her for comfort along with the blanket that was draped over Bella.
"I'm glad you came." Bella spoke from behind Rosalie and Jacob stepped a few metres closer, before Rosalie moved forward, staring the shapeshifter in his eyes.
"Close enough." The blonde angel warned.
"What's your problem?" Jacob asked, standing his ground.
"Rose, it's okay." Bella nodded, smiling over at Arlina appreciatively, and she looked back over at Jacob, who was now fully in view, glaring at the redhead who had her arm around the girl he loves.
"Why are you glaring at me?" Arlina shot him a look and he quickly looked away, he had no reason to be glaring at her, she was comforting Bella so he should be respectful if anything. He nodded at the ground as he took a seat on the ottoman, watching Bella intently and he sighed.
"You look terrible." Jacob smirked and Bella chuckled, smiling softly at her hands that fiddled with each other nervously. If it wasn't for Arlina being cuddled up next to her, she would be shaking, terrified for Jacob's reaction to the new information.
"Yeah, it's nice to see you, too." Bella exhaled, looking back up from her hands and Jacob nodded slightly.
"So, are you gonna tell me what's wrong with you?" He cut to the chase and Bella sighed, clearly not ready but she pushed herself anyway.
"Arlina, could you help me?" Bella asked the vampire beside her, who immediately sped up and took her hands in her own. Bella pulled the blanket from over her legs and stomach, revealing her bruised pregnant belly, causing Jacob's jaw to drop.
He looked over at Edward and the culprit shifted from foot to foot nervously, knowing he'd done wrong and Jacob stomped towards him, "You did this!" The boy yelled and Emmett pushed himself away from the wall, pushing the werewolf back away from Edward. He knew Edward wouldn't protect himself because he was feeling too sorry for himself to do anything.
"We didn't know it was even possible." Carlisle told him, trying to ease the boy's anger but it didn't work. Jacob pushed Emmett's hand from his shoulder and turned around, his face full of rage.
"What is it?" The boy spat out and Arlina looked to the ground.
"I'm not sure." Carlisle responded, staring at Bella's stomach worryingly, "Ultrasounds and needles won't penetrate the embryonic sac."
"I can't see it, either." Alice spoke up from beside Jasper, and she glanced over at the Swan girl, "And I can't see Bella's future anymore."
"We've been researching legends, but there isn't much to go on." Carlisle continued, "What we do know is that it's strong and fast-growing."
"Why haven't you done anything? Take it out of her!" Jacob yelled, stomping towards Carlisle.
"This is none of your business, dog." Rosalie told the boy, clearly disagreeing with taking the baby out.
"Rose!" Esme scolded, and Arlina sat back down beside Bella, resting her head back with a massive sigh, she was so sick of all of this fighting and drama, "All this fighting isn't good for Bella."
"That's what I'm saying." Arlina agreed, putting her hand in the air and Emmett smirked, trying not to laugh.
"The fetus isn't good for Bella." Alice spat out and Rose looked over to her in frustration.
"Say the word, Alice. "Baby." It's just a little baby." Rose snapped and Jasper stood forward, protecting his mate.
"Possibly." The blond spoke up, his face stern and serious but he also held a calm expression.
"Carlisle, you've gotta do something." Jacob told the vampire, pleading with him but Bella shook her head swiftly.
"No." She demanded, and Arlina placed her hand on hers, "It's not his decision. It's not any of yours."
Arlina agreed, which was why she wasn't choosing any side. It wasn't up to her, and she didn't have a right to an opinion about the topic, it was all Bella's decision, she was the one carrying the infant and the one who is sacrificing herself for it. If Bella died during childbirth and couldn't be revived through vampirism, the redhead was sure that Rosalie would be there to look after it alongside herself and Bree.
"Jacob, I need to talk to you." Edward spoke up, walking out of the room and Jacob hesitated before he decided to follow him out.
"It's okay, Bella." Arlina smiled sweetly at the human girl, ignoring the burning in her throat from her scent and Bella nodded gratefully.
"Thanks, Lina. You too, Rose." Bella smiled slightly and Rose looked down at her with a smile.
"It's no problem." The blonde responded, crossing her arms over her chest with a sigh. She swore to herself that she'd protect that baby with everything she has.

ARLINA WAS SAT BESIDE BELLA WHEN SHE WAS EXCUSED, Jacob had walked into the room again and Bella told her it was okay. So Rosalie and Arlina sat in the other room together, waiting for the boy to leave.
"Can we make a pact?" Rose spoke up, looking from her engagement ring to her sister, who was looking through a magazine and the redhead looked up with a nod.
"Yeah." Arlina smiled softly, closing the magazine and placing it back down onto the coffee table, setting her whole attention on the blonde.
"We have to promise to always protect that baby, no matter what. We both know that certain people are going to have a problem with it, especially if it... kills Bella. I hope it doesn't happen but there's a possibility. We just have to forever look after her— or him." Rosalie smiled and Arlina nodded.
"Of course, I already stood by that but we can do it together." The younger Cullen moved forward and wrapped her arms around Rosalie tightly, feeling comfortable in the girl's embrace.
Bella began to groan and whimper, so the two girls jumped up and sped out of the room and into the living room where Bella was, making sure she was okay.
