"Come on." Scott beckoned, leading the group of us, which now included Jiang and Tierney, out into the main part of the station.

I remained close to Liam, my eyes scanning the faces of the deputies as we went. As far as I was concerned, the only people I could trust in here aside from the pack, were Sheriff and Parrish.

We stopped by the front door, everyone's breathing become rapid...we were all nervous. It had been thrown out there that maybe I should just stay inside the station, wait until this was all over, but I had shot that down immediately. If they were going out there, then so was I.

"You ready?" My brother asked, turning to face the group of us.

Lydia nodded, meanwhile Malia let out a growl. Liam flicked out his claws in response. When Theo didn't do anything, Liam turned to give him a look. Reluctantly, he flicked out his hands to reveal his claws as well.

He then turned to me, giving me a skeptical look. "How exactly are you going to be of any help?" he wondered.

I rolled my eyes, turning back to the front, "I have a brain." I retorted, "I'll figure it out."

Just as we were ready to walk through the doors, Sheriff came rushing in with Parrish behind him. "Nobody's going anywhere!" he ordered.

Lydia spun to look at him in shock. "I can get through them!" she argued.

Sheriff shook his head slightly, "We're not going to fire the first shot. Now get back from the door, all of you. Parrish," he said, turning to look at his deputy, "Get these two back in their cell." he ordered, motioning to Jiang and Tierney.

As Parrish grabbed the two, Scott marched towards Sheriff. "What happened?" he questioned.

Stilinski let out a low sigh, "She gave us 'til midnight."

---

A grunt escaped my lips as I helped Liam and Theo shove a desk against the door, hopefully preventing anyone from entering.

As I turned around and let my eyes scan the station, I felt something wash over me. My chest felt heavy as I watched everyone scramble...I was scared.

"It's going to be okay." Liam promised, taking a hold of my hand.

I nodded, turning to look at him with a worried look. "But what if it's not?" I questioned, my voice cracking in fear. "We're like sitting ducks in here."

As if on cue, all power to the building seemed to be cut off, and we were plunged into darkness. My grip on Liam's hand tightened as I felt myself moving toward him.

"How easy is it to cut the power in a sheriff's station?" Malia demanded from where she stood next to my brother.

Before Stilinski had a chance to respond, one of his deputies spoke. "Too easy!" she snapped, shoving a figure into the room.

I felt my eyes narrow at the sight of Nolan Holloway stumbling to the ground. Liam tensed beside me as he glared down at the same kid who had brutally attacked him just a day earlier. "Throw him out!" he snapped, taking a step closer to Nolan.

"No!" Nolan pleaded, "You-you can't." he stammered, raising his hands in defense. "Okay? Please, she'll know I messed up."

"Why should we care?" I spat, my angry eyes meeting with Nolan's. "He's with them." I announced, now looking to my brother.

Scott looked over at me, "Sydney." he warned, trying to tell me to back down. I rolled my eyes as looked back to Nolan, wanting nothing more than to throw him out on his ass, allowing him to get the punishment he deserved.

"Sheriff?" Parrish questioned, wanting to know what our game plan was.

"He's a liar and he's sick in the head!" Liam argued, his voice laced with venom.

As my brother looked over at us, he met my eye and I sent him a pleading look. His face softened as he realized why Liam and I had such a distaste for this kid.

Sheriff had his eyes locked on Nolan as he spoke, seemingly taking into account what Liam and I had said. "And now he's under arrest." he promised. "Lock him up."

As Parrish lifted Nolan off the ground and dragged him to the holding cell, I leaned into Liam, letting him know it was okay. He looked down at me, giving me a small nod as his face relaxed.

Someone let out a scoff from behind us, and before I even had a chance to turn around, Theo had taken a hold of Liam's arm, dragging him toward the washroom. "I need to speak to you." he muttered.

I let out a gasp of surprise as Liam was pulled away. He looked back, giving me a confused look as Theo pulled him out of sight.

"That's weird." Malia commented from behind me.

I turned to look at her, nodding in agreement. "If he's not out in a few minutes we'd better go in. In case one of them killed the other."

Malia let out a small laugh before she turned her attention back toward outside. I let out a shaky sigh as I leaned up against one of the desks that hadn't been used to block the door. I felt my eyes travelling around the station once again, trying to study the face of everyone. My chest still felt heavy, like something was looming over me.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Liam came marching from the washroom, shaking his hand as he went.

"What happened?" I whispered as he stopped beside me.

He clenched his fist at his side as he spoke, "Theo wants to give them up." he muttered. "He said that trying to protect them would only get all of you killed."

I bit down on the inside of my cheek. "We're not going to do that though."

Liam's eyes were locked on where Nolan currently was as he shook his head, "No," he answered, "We're not." He then grabbed my hand, pulling me along with him, "We need to keep an eye on Nolan."

We stopped at the front desk, both of our eyes falling on the monitor, which luckily still had power. There, we could see the holding room, and we could see Nolan handcuffed to one of the benches.

Anger washed over me as I watched him. Liam seemed to mimic my emotions, as he watched the screen with dark eyes.

"Wait," I whispered, leaning closer to the screen. "What is he doing?" I questioned, watching in confusion as he seemed to be doing something with the cuffs.

Liam hovered over my shoulder, trying to figure out what Nolan was doing. However, we were too late, as seconds later he freed himself from the cuffs, jumping to his feet.

Liam flew back, already rushing into the room. My eyes were wide as I followed after him, my fear intensifying as an explosion sounded off from the main office area.

I felt my heart pounding in my chest as I rushed after Liam, following him into the holding room. We entered just in time to see Nolan standing outside of Jiang and Tierney's cell with a bottle of wolfsbane.

Liam jumped into action, grabbing a hold of Nolan before he had a chance to drop the liquid onto the ground. "Grab it, Syd!" he ordered, tightening his grip on Nolan who let out a grunt.

I reached forward, snatching the bottle from Nolan's hand with a glare. "This was your plan all along, wasn't it?" I snapped.

Nolan just stared at me, his breathing heavy as Liam forcefully shoved him out of the room, back to the main part of the station. I quickly turned to Jiang and Tierney, giving them a quick nod. "We're going to keep you safe." I promised.

With that, I followed after Liam and Nolan, coming to a stop beside them back in the office. My attention fell on the smoke that covered the room, a grenade had been set off. But it couldn't have been Nolan, Liam and I had eyes on him the entire time. I pushed that issue to the back of my mind for a moment, focusing on the first issue at hand. "Wolfsbane." I explained, holding up the bottle to show everyone.

Liam nodded, still gripping onto Nolan. "He was trying to kill them." He then turned to my brother, "Scott, there's something else you need to see."

Parrish took a hold of Nolan as Scott and Liam disappeared back into the holding cell. I moved toward Malia, my eyes one again scanning the faces. "Where did the explosion come from?" I whispered, afraid to speak any louder.

Malia glanced around for a moment before leaning closer to me. "It was someone from in here."

I felt a chill run through my body...we could trust no one, no one but ourselves and those we knew.

My heart jumped as Scott's roar basically shook the station, coming from the holding room. I resisted the urge to run in there, but decided against it. Instead, I made my way toward the washroom, needing a minute to breathe.

As I entered the dark, empty room, I let out a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I braced myself against the sink, staring back at myself in the mirror as tears of fear brimmed in my eyes. We were at war, and I was terrified of what was going to happen. I wasn't scared for my own safety, not in the slightest. But I was terrified for my brother, for my friends, and for my boyfriend. Some of the people I cared most about in the world were being alienated, hunted and murdered, and there was little I could do to stop it. I knew that all they were ever trying to do was protect people, but that fact was hidden by something else...fear.

The fear that was gripping the people of Beacon Hills overtook all rationality and led to extreme actions...and these actions scared me more than anything.
