"Stiles, you need to slow down." I ordered as he rambled to me over the phone, "Stiles!"
"She's hurt Syd, Lydia's hurt." I felt my heart drop at his words.
"What?" I demanded, already making for my brother's rooom, "What happened?"
"It was Sebastian." Stiles explained, his voice shaky, "Look, just get here as soon as you can, okay?"
After we had left Deaton's to regroup and get ourselves ready for what was about to happen, Stiles had called me, frantically trying to tell me about Lydia. After I ended the call with Stiles, I informed Scott and Liam and the three of us rushed over to the hospital.
"You two stay here, okay?" Scott said softy, nodding for Liam and I to sit down in the waiting room.
Usually I would argue, telling him I wanted to see Lydia too, but today I had nothing left in me and besides I figured it would be best that she wasn't overwhelmed from all of us coming in, so instead I just nodded.
As I sat down, Liam sat beside me, grabbing a hold of my hand as tears started to stream down my face, "It's too much." I whispered, everything that had been going on finally got to me. Liam said nothing, but instead allowed me to rest my head on his shoulder, "It's going to be okay."
After what felt like forever, Scott re-entered the waiting room, "Is she okay?" I asked, the minute I saw him.
He nodded. "She's okay, but she can't talk."
I felt Liam's shoulders slump beside me, "It's over isn't it?" he asked, defeat lacing his every word. If Lydia could't speak, it meant we weren't getting Mason back.
Scott didn't say anything which was as good as confirming Liam's earlier statement.
"There's nothing else we can do to save him." Liam said, with a small shrug and a laugh, a laugh as if he was laughing at himself for believing we could do something. I felt my heart break as he said those words.
As Scott looked down at his phone as it buzzed, I turned to Liam, "I'm sorry." I whispered softly.
He gave me a forced smile, "Some things just don't work out."
"Get up." Scott demanded, rejoining the two of us.
"Why?" Liam and I asked at the same time.
"Because, I have an idea." Scott answered, "And this isn't over."
I looked to Liam with a small smile, as he and I stood up and followed Scott down the hall and into Lydia's room.
"We need to get her up." he explained.
I looked at the state of Lydia before looking back at my brother. "Scott, I don't think-"
"Just trust me Sydney." He said as he nodded at Liam to help him.
"Just don't hurt her." I ordered as they began helping her sit up, causing her to grunt in pain.
When they had her sitting up, my mom and Stiles entered the room. "Lydia, this is going to have to be just between us, because I can get fired for this." my mother explained.
"It's a cortisone shot, it'll bring the inflammation down." Scott added.
Lydia nodded, wincing as she did so. She winced even more as she lifted her arm.
"No not there." My mom said, then reaching up to peel the bandage from Lydia's wound on her neck.
"Okay, I'm going to need to leave." Stiles announced.
"You're not going anywhere, hold her hand." my mom ordered.
"Okay, I'm staying but I still might faint." Stiles informed us as he grabbed Lydia's hand.
Just as my mom lifted the needle to insert into Lydia's neck, a loud thump came from beside me. I looked down to see Liam on the ground, unconscious. I looked around the room with wide eyes before kneeling beside him.
"Liam." I said nudging his arm, when he didn't wake I did it again, "Liam, get up."
His eyes flew open as he looked around in a daze, "What happened?"
"You passed out." I said, trying to hide the amused smile on my face, "Since when do you get woozy? When I hurt my hand you stayed with me the whole time."
"I didn't tell you," he admitted, "But I wanted to throw up."
I let out the smallest laugh as I helped him up off the ground, rejoining the group who were now helping Lydia out of the bed. I ushered everyone out of the room so that she could get changed. I sat on the bed, looking down at my phone to give her some privacy, but also make sure she was okay.
Moments later she stood in front of me, fully dressed, "Ready?" I asked, she nodded.
I opened the door and Scott and Stiles were instantly by her side, helping her to the elevator, even when we were inside the elevator they did't let go of her once. The doors dinged open as we reached our floor.
"Okay, I get Malia, text me when you find Valet." Stiles said just as he began to rush down the hall.
"Wait!" Scott called causing Stiles to stop and turn around, "Here." he said, handing Stiles a package.
"What is this?" Stiles asked, looking from the package to Scott.
"Something I've been working on for a while- just make sure Malia gets it."
"Okay, is there a plan B?" Stiles wondered.
"It was plan A." Scott admitted.
"Plan A never works."
Liam and I exchanged nervous looks as we watched the exchange between the two older boys.
"This one will." Scott assured.
Stiles nodded as he ran off down the hall. I assumed Stiles' role of holding Lydia up as we ushered her towards the exit doors.
---
Five minutes later we were pulling up to the water treatment tunnels and making our way inside. Lydia, who had gained some more strength was now able to hold herself up.
As we entered the tunnels a somewhat of a surging sound met my ears.
"Scott?" Liam asked quietly, "Do you hear that?"
"I got that." Lydia whispered.
"Lydia, save your voice." Scott instructed.
Liam took a step forward, looking down at his feet and then back up at us, eyes wide in fear, "Sydney, Lydia, get out of the water!" I was then being shoved against the wall, Lydia running into the back of me.
My eyes grew wide as Liam and Scott were electrocuted, sending them to the ground. I turned my head to try to see who had done this, however I met the eyes of someone I really didn't want to see.
"Sorry girls." Theo smirked as he grabbed the two of us, throwing us towards a large hole in the ground. Considering Lydia was behind me, I went through the hole first, plummeting to the ground with a large thud.
The breath was knocked out of me as I struggled to breathe. I looked up to see Lydia dangling over me, implying the someone had grabbed a hold of her.
"Scott, where is she?" Liam yelled, presumably talking about me.
"She-she fell." Scott stuttered.
"Sydney!"
I struggled to get any words out so I could answer Liam, but I was still trying to catch my breath.
My heart rate excelled as I heard another voice, "Feel that Scott? Kanima venom. Let it go Scott, let everything go." Theo almost snickered.
The venom must of became too much as Lydia came towards me with a scream, landing much more gracefully than I did.
"Are you okay?" she instantly asked, turning to look at me.
I weakly nodded as she helped me up, "How about you, are you hurt?" I asked, my eyes stopping on the bandage on her neck, which was bleeding more profoundly now.
"I'm fine," she promised, turning to look for the door, "But we have to get out of here."
I nodded as I slowly pushed myself up off the ground. The minute I was up, I felt around the walls looking for a door.
"Here!" Lydia called, causing me to rush over to her.
We both began pushing put the door didn't shove, "It's locked." I sighed in defeat.
Lydia winced, her hand flying to her neck.
"Lyd-"
"I'm okay, I promise."
"They're coming for us, they have to be." I announced, still pushing on the door.
"Syd, do you know how many tunnels are down here, it could take forever."
I ignored her pessimistic comment as we both pushed on the door once again. Suddenly, a sword was shoved through the door. Lydia pulled me back as we both watched in awe as the sword cut through the door, eventually sending it to the ground.
"Sorry I'm late." Kira huffed walking towards the two of us.
My eyes were still wide as Lydia grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the room, "This way!" she called as she led us down the tunnels.
After what felt like a hundred turns we came to a halt as we came face to face with Sebastian Valet. Scott and Liam were both on the ground, clearly hurt.
"Mason!" Lydia called, causing Sebastian to turn and look at us.
He then began rushing towards us, "I think you're going to need to try it a little louder." I pointed out, my voice racking in fear.
His eyes then turned blue and he transformed into the Beast, which caused me to stumbled backwards in fear.
"Mason!" Lydia let out a scream that echoed through the tunnels.
I flinched as the Beast suddenly disappeared into a cloud of dust, Lydia's scream still vibrating off the walls. My heart almost exploded as Mason emerged from the dust, Corey coming from the walls, catching Mason in his arms.
The happy moment was ruined however, as the Beast, or what was left of it, ran off down the tunnel, a squealing noise coming from it. Parrish stopped it mid way down the tunnel, pinning it against the wall.
"Scott!"
Scott jumped up and grabbed the cane, hurdling it towards the Beast. As the pike stuck into the side of the creature, it let out one last growl before disappearing into mid air.
Everyone looked around at each other, still in shock at what had just happened, the only thing you could hear was everyone's gasps for breath.
"Everyone okay?" Scott called, breaking the silence.
Just as everyone was about to nod another voice cut through the air, "Not everyone!" Theo yelled. We all spun out heads to see him slowly coming towards us, electricity surging all around him.
I'm not sure if I can even explain what happened next as I have not yet fathomed it myself. Kira rushed towards Theo, instantly using her sword to block the surge of energy that he sent towards her.
"The Skin Walkers have a message for you Theo!" she yelled. "Your sister wants to see you."
Theo's face fell in horror as Kira plunged her sword into the ground causing it to crack open at Theo's face. I watched in terror as a girl with long, wet black hair emerged from the ground, her eyes locking on Theo. She then grabbed his legs, pulling him into the hole with her.
Theo struggled to grab a hold of the ground, trying anything to keep himself from going under, "Scott! Scott, help me please! No!"
I winced as Theo's cries echoed off the tunnels walls. Almost as quickly as it started, it was over and Theo was gone. My eyes stayed locked on the ground as he hole close, hopefully taking Theo away forever.
Silence filled the air once again as we all looked at each other. This time Liam was the one to break it as he rushed over to me, pulling me into his arms. I was hesitant at first, but soon wrapped my arms so tightly around him I was sure I was hurting him.
"Are you okay?" he asked, examining my body for any cuts or bruises.
"I'm fine." I whispered, burying my head in his neck, finally letting the tears fall.
