33.

"You want to do what!?" Sheriff almost yelled, his eyes wide as he stared down at me. He was dressed up like he was the other night, and if I had to harbour a guess, he was going on a date, perhaps the same one that had been interrupted the other night.

I put my hands up in surrender as I took a small step back, "He was there the other night- with Tracy!" I argued, my turning my head slightly to where Donovan was being held,  "He must know something." I added, lowering my voice.

Sheriff shook his head as he glanced toward where Donovan was as well, "Sydney, I am not letting you near him." he firmly stated.

"Please," I begged, tucking my hands under my chin to further fortify by begging state,  "I need to do this."

"Does Scott know you're here?" Sheriff asked, letting out a sigh as he looked toward Parrish who was listening.

"Scott doesn't control me." I shot back, placing my hands on my hips.

Sheriff gave me a look, causing me to drop my arms and instead bring them up, crossing them over my chest, "No, he doesn't know I'm here." I admitted.

"I'm calling him to come get you." Sheriff announced, already pulling out his phone.

"No! Please, please just let me do this by myself. Just this once." I pleaded, "This is something I can do, without my brother."

Sheriff sighed, rubbing his face with his hands before looking back to me, "I'll give you 5 minutes."

"Thank you!" I almost shrieked as I wrapped my arms around him.

"Parrish," Sheriff called,  "I want you by the door at all times, don't take your eyes off of her." he instructed. "Now if you would excuse me, I have to get ready for my date."

---

"You have a visitor." Parrish announced as we entered the room that Donovan's holding cell was in.

The boy rolled his eyes, an agitated look on his face, "I swear to God if it's not-" he cut himself off as he looked up and met eyes with me. "Who the hell is this?" he spat, before recognition sparked in his eyes,  "Wait, I know you. You're the chick that was with Stilinski's kid the other night."

I nodded slightly, giving him a smile, "I prefer Sydney, but chick works too."

Donovan cracked the smallest smile as he leaned back against the wall, watching as I turned to Parrish.

I nodded toward the cell, waiting for him to let me in. I knew I could have a better conversation and maybe get more information out of Donovan if I could speak to him without metal bars in between us.

Parrish's eyes grew wide as he vehemently shook his head, "Oh no. No, you're not going in there."

"Come on." I groaned. "Please." I begged, shouting him a puppy dog look, "I'll be quick."

He glanced out into the main part of the office, ensuring Sheriff wasn't watching before letting out a loud sigh, unlocking the cell door and allowing me to enter, "5 minutes." he reaffirmed.

I nodded and slowly walked into the cell, stopping so I was right in front of Donovan. "I need you to tell me about the other night." I ordered, glancing down to where he sat,

Donovan let out a small laugh, "I don't need to tell you anything." he shot back, sending me a smirk.

I stole a glance at Parrish who was intently watching us, assuring nothing went awry. "Please." I begged.

"I already told them, I want a new lawyer." Donovan snapped,  "I don't know if they thought that sending in a pretty girl like you would make me talk, but it's not working."

"They didn't send me in." I promised, "I asked to come see you."  I paused for a moment, before getting closer to him, "Did you see her?" I questioned.

Donovan kept his eyes locked with me, his breathing getting heavier, ever so slightly. "Did I see who?"

"Tracy." I answered, trying to stay calm, I knew this was going to be impossible.

Donovan eyes darkened as he shook his head, "I didn't see anybody." he spat.

"Donovan," I pleaded,  "I know you don't want to talk, but I really need your help. If you can tell me what you saw then-"

And then before I could even think, he had sprung from his seat and wrapped his hands around my neck. I let out a gasp as he pinned me against the bars, his eyes were wild, yet dull as if he was being controlled.

"They're coming." he whispered the same way Tracy did, "They're coming for us all."

"Hey!" Parrish yelled, rushing into the cell before quickly pulling Donovan off of me. "Sydney get out of here." he ordered, already shoving me toward the door with one hand while he held Donovan in the other.

"But I'm not done!" I argued, my voice raw from the grip that Donovan had had on my neck.

"Now!" he shouted, shoving Donovan back into the wall, trying to contain him.

I stole a final glance at Donovan before giving in and making my way back into the main area. However, it appeared that I left one chaotic scene for the other. As I exited the holding cell room, I was met with the scene of Tracy attacking Ms. Martin, Sheriff, Lydia and Kira. A tale had grown out of her spine. She was a Kanima.

I let out a gasp as Tracy swung her tail as Sheriff, effectively cutting and temporarily paralyzing him. Kira grabbed her sword, preparing to take on Tracy. I forced myself to move, rushing back into the holding room in search of Parrish, but he was gone.

"Where did he go!?" I yelled, my eyes filled with terror as I looked to Donovan.

"He left a couple of minutes ago- what-what's going on our there?" Donovan demanded, pressing his face against the bars to get a better look.

"Just stay quiet!" I ordered, "I'll be back in a second." I promised before rushing back out to the others.

The minute I stepped foot into the main room, I felt something slice against my arm. I looked up with wide eyes to see Tracy's tail cut into my arm. A gasp escaped my lips as my legs began to go numb, and soon enough I had collapse against the floor.

I helpless watched as Tracy turned to Lydia, quickly impaling her with her tail. "No!" I shrieked, watching as Lydia fell to the floor.

Ms. Martin called out for her daughter, creating the distraction that Kira needed. With one quick motion, she swung and slice Tracy's tail off.

A wail came from Tracy's lips before she ran off. My breathing was heavy as I watched Kira, a glowing fox silhouetting her body.

I then moved my eyes, focusing on Lydia who was struggling to catch her breath over the pain of her injury. "Hold on, Lydia." I called, trying to hide the fear in my voice.

I was scared Lydia was going to die.
