okay this song is perfect for syd and liam...tell me i'm wrong.

---

I nervously tapped my fingers on my lap as Derek and Stiles continued to chain Liam to the bench. I watched out of the corner of my eye as Braeden glanced in the rear view mirror, before turning her head, looking into the back. I followed her and spun my body around in my seat so I had a clear view of what was going on behind me.

I watched as Derek secured another set of handcuffs on Liam before resting back on the bench.

"All good?" He asked, a hopeful look in his eyes. Liam tugged at the handcuffs as hard as he could. When they didn't budge, he looked back up at Derek with a small nod.

"Okay, good." Derek mumbled. "I brought something that will help you." he announced, reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out a small disk with a triskele on it.

He held it in front of Liam as he explained it. "This has been in my family for centuries. We use it to teach Betas how to control themselves under the full moon." He handed it over and Liam took it turning it around in his hands to get a better look.

Stiles and I looked at each other skeptically, it looked as if Stiles was about to protest against what Derek had just said, but one look from Derek stopped him.

Stiles brows shot up as he slowly nodded, "Uh yes, it's powerful-very powerful" He mumbled, trying to sound like he actually believed it was going to work.

Derek then turned to me giving me a pressuring look. I held his gaze for a moment, trying to convey the fact that I did not think this was going to work. Derek jabbed his thumb toward Liam, who still had his head down, as he mouthed a demand for me to tell Liam it was going to work.

I rolled my eyes as I looked to my boyfriend, "It will help you Liam, trust me." I lied, forcing a smile onto my face.

Liam looked up at me the worry leaving his eyes for a moment. "I can do this." he mumbled.

---

A noise from the back startled me out of my thoughts. Night had fallen at this point, meaning the affects of the full moon were starting to hit Liam.

I spun around, my eyes landing on Liam who had his head down, his breathing becoming rapid. He let out a grunt as he pulled against the chains.

"Whatever you are going to teach me," he grunted looking up at Derek. "I think you better start." he said through gritted teeth, his eyes morphing into the golden colour that we all knew too well.

I took a deep breath and looked up at the full moon my heart beating rapidly in my chest. "How close are we?" I asked turning to face Braeden.

"30- 40 minutes." she replied tightening her grip on the steering wheel, keeping her eyes locked on the road ahead.

"I don't know how much longer he can fight it." I admitted, looking back at Liam who was drenched in sweat.

"Liam are you with me?" Derek asked. Liam nodded as he let out a deep breath.

"We have a montra that we use, you repeat it and you focus on the words. It's like meditating, you say the words until you feel control coming back to you."

"Okay!" Liam's voice was strained,  "Okay, what are the words?" he demanded, once again pulling against the chains.

"Look at the triskelion," Derek instructed,  "See the symbol? The tattoo on my back is the same thing. Each spiral means something."

Recognition came over me as I realized what Derek was talking about. "Alpha, Beta, Omega." I announced.

Derek looked over to me as he nodded, "It represents the idea that we can always rise to one and fall back to another. Beta's can become Alphas."

"Alphas can become Betas." Stiles added.

"Can Alphas become Omegas?" Liam asked his voice almost pained.

Derek nodded. "All you have to do is say the 3 words. Each one you tell yourself you're getting calmer, more in control." Derek explained. Liam nodded worry flooding his face. "Go ahead." Derek encouraged.

"Alpha Beta, Omega" Liam spat out quickly.

"Slower." Derek ordered.

I pulled at my fingers nervously as I resisted the urge to climb in the back and help.

"Alpha, Beta, Omega." Liam slowed down this time, his breathing doing the same. He said it once again each time it seemed like he was getting calmer.

"Good, say it again." Derek demanded. "Remember every time you're saying the words, you're getting calmer."

Liam said the three words again, but this time his voice was deeper.

"Oh no." Stiles mumbled pushing himself further into the back of the van, as Liam began to lose control.

"Liam, say it again!" I encouraged from the front.

"Derek, I don't think it's working!" Stiles admitted, fear evident in his voice.

"Liam say it again!!" Derek ordered as Liam lurched forward causing the van to tip slighting to the side.

Braeden regained control, but now there was a new problem.

I watched in fear as Liam broke free from one of the chains, he stretched his arms out desperately trying to grab a hold of Derek and rip him to shreds.

"LIAM!" I yelled trying to distract him for a moment.

"I think we're going to need to go a little faster!" Stiles called.

Braeden hit the gas as I undid my seatbelt so I had full mobility. I turned around fully so I had both my hands pressed against the metal that separated the front from the back. Liam had now broken free of all chains and had his hands wrapped around Derek's neck.

"Syd, do something!" Stiles yelled, his voice sounding petrified as he tried to scramble away from Liam.

"I'm trying Stiles!" I snapped taking a deep breath, trying to think of what usually calmed him down. And then it hit me. Every time Liam started to turn I was there beside him. And that's where I needed to be now.

"I need to get back there!" I yelled over all the commotion.

"I'm not letting you back there!" Braeden argued, quickly looking from the road and then to me.

I ignored her and opened the small window that was in the middle of the divider and began to push myself through it.

"Sydney!" Braeden screamed,  grabbing a belt loop on my jeans and attempting to pull me back. I broke free from her grasp and successfully pulled myself into the back. I landed harshly on the ground and Liam's eyes snapped over to me.

"Syd, what the hell are you doing?" Stiles yelled, "I meant do something from the front!" his eyes were wide in fear.

Before I could reply, Liam had diverted his attention from Derek to me, and soon enough his hands wrapped around my own neck. He pinned me up against the back wall as his grip tightened. His eyes stared into my own, and fear consumed me. This was not the Liam I knew.

"Liam!" I gasped, choking on my words on my words as I attempted to pry his hands off of my neck.

Derek and Stiles jumped up and attempted to pull Liam off of me, but they had no such luck. Eventually, I managed to rest my feet against Liam's chest and with one strong kick, he was sent flying into the opposite wall.

"Nothing is working!" I shrieked my throat raw, as Stiles pulled me beside him, protectively wrapping his arm around me.

"I really don't think Alpha, Beta, Omega is resonating with him!" Stiles yelled as Liam clawed at Derek again.

"Do you know any other montras?" Derek shot back, still trying to fight of Liam.

Suddenly a light bulb went off in my brain.

"Stiles!" I yelled grabbing his attention. "The sun, the moon, the truth." I shouted reciting the montra that I had heard numerous times.

Stiles nodded an eager look on his face. "Liam what three things cannot long behid!" Stiles shouted which resulted in Liam briefly glancing in our direction before turning to Derek, a growl escaping his lips.

"LIAM!" I yelled "Look at me!" I demanded, "What three things cannot long behid!?" I questioned, repeating what Stiles' words.

Liam looked at me and his breathing started to slow down. "The sun, the moon, the truth." he grunted his voice beginning to turn back to normal.

"Say it again." I encouraged, freeing myself from Stiles' grasp to approach Liam.

"Syd-" Derek warned, trying to stop me. I put my hand up to stop him, giving him a reassuring nod as I knelt in front of Liam.

"Focus on my breathing" I whispered, placing my outstretched hand in front of Liam's, allowing him to place his own in it. "Now say it again."

He repeated the words and slowly his claws disappeared, leaving his normal hands resting in mine. Soon enough, his eyes followed, returning to normal.

"Derek?" Braeden called from the front.

"We're okay." Derek reassured as Liam continued to repeat the words.

I kept my eyes on Liam who's breathing was finally returning to normal. I gave him a soft smile as I flopped down in the seat beside him, our hands still interlocked, "You did it." I whispered.

"I tried to kill you." he pointed out, guilt already clouding his face.

I shook my head, "But you didn't."

He looked at me for a moment before pressing his lips against mine."It was incredibly stupid for you to come back here." he whispered.

"I know." I admitted.

---

The van finally came to a stop and I felt all the nerves of before come back.

"I can't believe I did it." Liam spoke up a small laugh coming from his mouth. "For a minute there I though I was going to tear the three of you apart."

"Yeah, well that would have made for an awkward ride home, so thanks." Stiles replied sarcastically.

"You think you can bring the same level of control in La Iglesia?" Derek questioned.

Liam flicked his hand out in front of him, his claws showing.

"Alright," Stiles breathed,  "We might actually be able to do this."
