My eyes shot open at the sound of my alarm. Groaning, I turned over and slapped my hand against the clock, willing the noise to stop. A sigh escaped my lips as I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom and started getting ready for yet another day of school. This was my freshman year, and it had been anything but normal. That of course was all thanks to my brother and his friends.
I was 14 when I found out my older brother was a werewolf, and that was a lot to take in. Since then, my first year of high school so far had been action packed with all the supernatural drama, I'm not even sure how I had managed to stay on top of my school work.
Once I was ready for school, I made my way downstairs to grab something to eat before I had to leave. As I entered the kitchen, my brother looked up at me from his seat at the kitchen table. Scott was my best friend, and the best brother I could have ever asked for. Despite all of that, he was also the one who essentially turned my whole life upside down, but I wouldn't want it any other way.
"Hey" he said through a mouthful of cereal.
"Morning" I mumbled grabbing an apple.
"I have lacrosse tryouts this morning, so I can't give you a ride" Scott said standing up to put his bowl in the sink.
Sighing, I took a bite of my apple before speaking, "Okay, I guess I'll take the bus then."
He nodded before grabbing his bag. "See ya later Syd" he said as he walked to the door.
"Bye, good luck!" I called after him.

I walked down the halls of BHHS with my best friend Sophia.
"Did you hear about the new kid" she asked as we stopped at my locker.
"No." I said grabbing some of my books.
"He's amazing at lacrosse, I heard some people talking this morning they think he could be the first freshman captain." she said whispering the last part.
I turned my head away from my locker to look at her. "Do you really think that's possible Soph? Scott wouldn't let that happen"
"Scott's not some super hero Sydney, anything can happen" She replied, still obsessing over the new kid. Sophia was my best friend, but that didn't mean she knew anything of what went on with my brother and our friends.
I let a small laugh escape my lips. "If only you knew" I whispered closing my locker.
When Sophia still didn't let up on the whole new kid story, I decided I would feed into her excitement, "What's his name?" I asked as we made out way through the hallways.
Sophia gave me a grin, "Liam Dunbar"
I looked over at her with a small nod, "He's in some of my classes" as soon as it left my mouth her eyes lit up.
"Isn't he cute" she gushed.
"Yeah I guess, he doesn't seem like the nicest person though" I muttered, recalling the few run-ins I had had with this Liam character.
"Wait here he comes!" she squealed looking down the hall.
I rolled my eyes and watched as he walked by, Sophia smiled at him her eyes grew wide as her gave her a small smile in return.
"Oh my god" she whispered as soon as he was past us.
I let out a small laugh, "Soph, calm down he's not some celebrity" I reminded her.
"I know you think he's cute, so don't lie to me Syd" she teased, pulling on my arm.
I lightly pulled away from her grasp, shaking my head, "Whatever, I'm going to class" I said, laughing as I walked to my homeroom.

Sighing, I shoved my books into my locker as I grabbed the ones I needed to complete my homework tonight. The school day had passed quite uneventfully which was to my relief.
"Sydney!" I turned towards the calling of my name to see Kira and Malia making their way down the hall toward me.
"Hey" I said smiling, slamming my locker shut and turning to face them fully.
Kira adjusted the strap on her bag, "You coming to watch lacrosse?"
I nodded, throwing the strap of my backpack over my shoulder, "Yeah, let's go." I smiled, falling into step with the two older girls as we made our way out to the field. Watching Scott and Stiles play lacrosse had become habit for me, but today, as it turned out, things would be a bit different.
"Oh," Kira announced as we sat down, her eyes locked on my brother, "There's Scott!"
I playfully rolled my eyes as the boys started doing laps out on the field. I watched Scott and Stiles for a moment before I looked down to one of my textbooks, deciding to get a head start on my homework.
I was half way through my first math problem when Kira spoke up "Who is that?" she asked, her voice full of surprise.
I looked up from my work to see the same new kid that Sophia had freaked out about earlier today, pulling off some impressive moves on the field. I narrowed my eyes as I spoke, "His name's Liam," I answered, turning to look at Kira, "He's in my grade."
Malia was watching him intently "He looks good" Malia she muttered, "I mean good at lacrosse." she added after receiving skeptical looks from both Kira and I.
"And he's only 15?" Kira asked in disbelief.
I nodded and looked back out to the field. This time, instead of focusing on Liam, I focused on the two losers I claimed as my brother and my wannabe brother. A wince consumed my body as I watched Scott and Stiles miss their shots, over and over.
"I thought they were good" Malia whispered, her face scrunched up as she looked out to the field.
"They were." I muttered, cringing once again as Stiles flopped to the ground.
"McCall, Stilinski grab the long sticks you're covering goal for two on ones" I heard Coach yell from the field.
"Oh god here we go" I mumbled setting my homework aside, ready for the debacle that was about to ensue.
Luckily, for the first few runs, Stiles and Scott hadn't let anyone get past them. All was well until Liam's turn came. He effortlessly made it past them, easily scoring on net. I dropped my face into my hands with a sigh.
I only looked up when Malia shot up from her seat, "THAT WAS LUCK! DO OVER!"
My eyes grew wide as I tried to pull her back down, as now she had gathered the attention of everyone on the field, "Malia sit down" I urged.
"Sweetheart there's no do overs, it's practice" Coach responded, easily brushing her off.
"10 bucks on Scott and Stiles" Malia said sitting back down, a smug smile on her face.
Coach seemed to think about it for a moment before shrugging, "I'll take it." He turned to Liam, harshly blowing the whistle, "Liam you're up again!"
Someone behind me snickered, claiming that this was going to be a good show. I anxiously leaned forward in my seat as Liam began to charge at Scott and Stiles. When Liam came into contact with my brother, I did not expect what happened next. This time Scott had stopped him, but in a way that sent Liam's body flying through the air before landing harshly on the ground, a cracking sound could be heard, even from the bleachers.
A gasp flew from my lips as I shot to my feet, watching as Liam withered in pain on the ground. Scott and Stiles wore shocked expressions as they started at the aftermath of Scott's hit.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM, DON'T TOUCH HIM" Coach yelled as he came flying toward Liam.
I grabbed my bag, saying a quick goodbye to Malia and Kira before making my way down to the bottom of the bleachers. Scott and Stiles rushed toward me, Liam propped in between them, his ankle dragging, clearly being the source of the cracking noise I had heard.
"We're taking him to the nurse," Stiles explained, grunting at the weight of Liam, "Meet us in the parking lot and one of us will take you home."
I nodded, my eyes then shifting to Liam's pained ones. His gaze met mine for a moment before he looked back to the ground. But in that moment I felt my heart skip a beat.
I ignored that stupid feeling, the butterflies in my stomach, as I watched the three boys disappear into the school. Shaking my head, I made my way out to the parking lot like Stiles had instructed, leaning against his Jeep as I waited.
It was close to thirty minutes later that they remerged from the school...with Liam still in tow.
"What the hell are you doing with him?" I questioned as the boys approached me. Liam looked up at me once again, pain still filling his eyes.
I tore my gaze from him as Stiles spoke, "We have to take him to the hospital" he grunted, struggling to locate his keys in his pocket.
"Okay, then I'm coming." I announced.
Scott sighed as he shook his head, "No Sydney, just go home" Scott instructed as the two older boys helped Liam into Stiles' Jeep.
I threw my arms up in frustration, "How else am I getting home then, you two are my only options at this point."
Scott and Stiles shared a look, obviously trying to decide whether or not they should let me come. Finally, my brother gave in, "Okay fine. Go with Stiles" Scott ordered as he made his way over to his bike.
A small smile came to my face as I pulled myself into the backseat of the Jeep. My eyes travelling to Liam in the front as Stiles' started the Jeep, quickly peeling out of the parking lot.
The movement of the car clearly hurt Liam, as he let out a small groan of pain, clamping his eyes shut as he rested his head against the window.
"Are you okay" Stiles tentatively asked, turning his head slightly to look at the other boy.
Liam opened his eyes slowly, moving his head so he could see Stiles, "Do I look like I'm okay?" he snapped, his words full of pain.
Stiles rose his brows as he turned back to the road, "Okay then."
There was a moment of silence before Stiles spoke up again, looking between Liam and I, "Hey you two don't know each other yet do you? Liam, this is Sydney and Syd this is Liam, you two are the same age you should-"
"Not the time Stiles" I snapped.
