Y/N POV
Two weeks have passed since that dodgeball game. When I had arrived, they had informed me of the deal they had made and the limit we have with our time.
Gon and I have been training non-stop for the plan, but I'll admit, when Killua first told us the plan, I was a little pissed that I was only going to be there in case Gon needed help. I would be the one waiting in our man hole, ready with the rock.
Bisky, in an attempt to train Gon quicker, had him doing handstands and pushing air out of his hands. Five days later, Gon is still trying to propel himself into the air. I walk up to him and tap his shoulder.
"Hey, Gon? Remember when we put aura in our feet and jumped up? Try that but with your hand."
"But we jumped."
"You also have an elbow that acts like a knee." Then I walk back and sit down next to Killua, who's watching Gon while absentmindedly playing with a loose bandage dangling around his hand. "Your hands are kind of better," I mention.
"You want to heal me more?"
"Sorry, can't. I've already done a lot, but I'm saving my energy in case something happens."
"Hm."
"Be grateful."
He pushes me lightly, laughing. "You already know I am."
When it's the final day, we're already expecting the Bombers to show their faces. It's no surprise when Genthru, Sub, and Bara land in front of us.
"What do you want?" Killua yells. I'll admit, his acting is pretty good.
"Now, now, don't be so hostile! Oh, and we have another girl here. It's no matter, though. We want your cards." He directs his words over at Gon.
"Absolutely not," he firmly replies. "Accompany on, Masadora!"
We're whisked away, I see Genthru pinch his nose in annoyance. When our feet touch land again, we immediately jump into the bushes, hiding. The Bombers, landing seconds after us, start to look around, attempting to spot us. When they fail to locate us, they spread out, trying to cover more ground.
As soon as they're out of our sight, we sprint out, heading in the direction of our manhole. I change into dark form, flying above the trees to get to the manhole before Gon does. Only seconds later, I see the Bombers shoot through the sky and land in front of the other three.
I see the small movements of their mouths moving before Bisky and Killua break away, Sub and Bara following each one.
I watch as Gon starts to attack Genthru before continuing to the manhole. It's in a clearing, surrounded by a grove of trees. Next to a random trunk is a hole that will lead me back to the manhole without having to uncover it. I go through the tunnel and sit in the darkness of the hole. It's not even a few minutes later when I see light burst through the seams and Gon and Genthru fall through, landing.
Panic immediately overtakes me when I see Gon's state. One arm is completely gone and his throat curves inward. My hands fly to my face, covering my mouth, and I'm about to move when I see Gon look at me, moving his head slightly. Subtly, I throw up the rock card and the moment before the rock appears, Gon dashes towards where I am. I watch Genthru's eyes track the movement and then darkness appears once more.
It's the next day when Genthru opens his eyes. We're in the plain where we had started the game. Genthru gives us his cards, with the request that we heal his buddies.
I offer to heal Gon, but that would take all my Nen for some time, so we use Archangel to heal them.
Goreinu teleports to us, and Bisky and Killua start arguing with him over using Breath of Archangel. In the end, he agrees.
He also gives us all of his cards. Bisky wants him to share the money as well and starts hitting his arm lightly. It wouldn't do well for him to take back the cards. But she changes her attitude when he gives all of us a portion of the money. She starts blubbering about how nice he is. Goreinu looks uncomfortable at the sudden switch in emotion, and me and Killua are on the floor laughing. Bisky glares at us, then turns back to Goreinu, flattering him to no end.
Gon puts all the cards in his binder, and a woman's voice starts to speak to the whole game.
"Someone has filled all ninety-nine restricted slots. In honor of this, there will be a quiz for all players. There will be one hundred questions, for each of the slots. The player who gets the highest score will get card #0. This will begin in ten minutes."
BISKY POV
Almost immediately, people start to come up to us. I get in formation to fight them, Y/N, Killua, and Gon doing the exact same. I'm surprised, though, when all they ask of us is to receive five percent of the money if they get the #0 card. The four of us talk quietly to each other for a little, before agreeing.
"People are doing this quiz in teams," I note, eyes scanning the grassy plain. "What should we do?"
I turn to Y/N, Killua, and Gon.
"We should do it by ourselves!" Gon yells. A true diamond.
"Yeah!" Y/N agrees, her (e/c) eyes gleaming with determination. A beautiful opal.
"Whoever scores lowest has to do the other two's bidding for a week!" Killua exclaims. What a gorgeous sapphire.
They start to talk and laugh.
"Do you care for them?" I hear Goreinu ask, suddenly by my side.
I smile up at him, still feeling really lucky for the money. "Of course! They're like children to me."
"Aren't you their age?"
I gasp. "What? I look that young? Thank you! I'm actually fifty-seven!"
He gapes and I giggle, staring back at the trio, who are looking through their binders and chuckling.
Honestly, they've got guts. They just came from a fight to the death and now they're facing this last contest with such confidence. I bet these three have enjoyed this game more than anyone else. Keep it up.
KILLUA POV
The quiz starts, and I'm already stuck. I don't see Gon get stuck, though, or Y/N. In fact, I could say that she's acing it. Damn it, if she wins, she'll use her bragging rights to no end.
The quiz ends, and although it was probably a half hour long, to me it lasted as long as a day.
I sit down and Y/N lays down next to me, her head on my thigh. "Dang, that was harder than I expected. Gon, though," she looks over at him. "I feel like you aced it. You looked so confident."
He giggles. "I'm going to make you my royal servants!"
The woman who Y/N described as the girl with the serotonin-like voice, declares, "I will now tell you the person with the highest score. Gon Freecss!"
"YES!" We all exclaim, jumping in the air. People all congratulate him, but he just laughs.
"You guys have to obey me for a week," he laughs maniacally.
Y/N and I lock eyes then turn to him and scowl. "Damn."
We start discussing how to find the capital where we'll meet the creators. Or, Gon will.
"Drift," Bisky decides. "You and Y/N each have that, and you also have an accompany card. Find the city and then come back."
"Okay."
"Whoever gets there first, wins," I smirk at Y/N.
The same expression appears on her face. "Alright, bet."
I use drift, and so does Y/N. I land and see a castle on the hill.
"I win!" someone yells. I turn at the noise and see Y/N. "Oh, hey Killua. Wait, Killua? That means no one wins."
"Just means you can never beat me," I shrug, grinning and walking over.
She cocks her head, making a face that clearly says 'who does he think he is.' I laugh more, falling in line next to her.
Y/N smiles up at me, wrapping an arm around my waist and leaning her head against my body. I wrap an arm around her when something in my stomach falls. It doesn't feel like a bad way though, it feels like something fluttering around. Looking down, another smile befalls me. She looks so beautiful and in the moment.
What the hell? When did I start thinking like this?
We continue walking and end up siting against a tree. She starts to play with my hair, twisting it around. I sigh, looking away from her.
"You okay, Killua?"
"I don't know. I was just thinking, what if one of you guys gets hurt because of me?" I say the first thing that comes to my mind, pushing the rest of my thoughts out of my head.
"That's not going to happen," she says firmly. Grabbing a hair-tie from her wrist, she ties something up.
"What did you do?" I ask, glancing at her.
She grins at me then raises a card. "Accompany on! Bisky!"
Back at the group, Bisky snorts and I raise an eyebrow, confused.
"Accompany on! Limeiro!" Y/N shouts.
We go there and I stick a foot out, swiping them off their feets. They land on their backs with a loud cry, wincing. I start laughing and Bisky punches me into the air.
"What the hell?" Y/N pulls on my foot, making me land ontop of her and Bisky. The old hag slides out from under me and goes over to a broken column while Gon goes up to the castle. Y/N and I start bickering.
I roll over so I'm laying next to her, an elbow propping my head up so I can see her when I talk.
"You're so fat," Y/N groans, looking sideways at me. "I swear, when you fell on me, I broke a leg."
I give her a look. "You already know I'm not fat."
"Explain my broken leg then, fatty."
The arguement keeps going before we're interrupted by Bisky.
"Ok! Gon's back! Let's go, lovebirds." Bisky gets off the pedestal she's sitting on. Y/N huffs as my cheeks start to burn.
Later tonight, everyone parties. We're rolled around in a carriage, and there are fireworks everywhere. Dinner was amazing. It had been so long since we had real, authentic food. Then there was a karaoke party. Bisky was singing and us three were dancing.
The night catches up quickly. Me and Y/N sleep in a bed, and Bisky and Gon do the same in the other bed.
When we wake up, we start discussing the three cards we want.
Well, we talk about Gon's dad first. He tells us what happened while Y/N and I were play fighting. Then we go back to the subject of the cards.
Bisky wants the Blue Planet and explains why. I snort a little, and she smacks us. "So what about you guys? There are only two more cards left."
Y/N shrugs. "Honestly? I'm okay with whatever the boys choose. Or, really Gon. I mean, we're still going to find your dad, right?"
We start talking about how to do that. Bisky starts looking at us confused, but I ignore her - I think Y/N and Gon just didn't notice her questions - when she punches us again. "LET ME IN ON THIS!"
Outside the game, we say goodbye to Bisky. She starts to cry but claims it's old age. Y/N says goodbye to her as well, whispering something to her. Bisky nods, grinning at her through the tears.
Gon transforms the card. Bisky backs away from us, and we head to Gon. He raises a hand, trembling in excitement. "Accompany, on! Nigg!"
